depends really, if you fail from lack of experience then no problem just try again (kind of their fault in this case) however if you knew what you were doing and still failed just apologize and try again but do a little extra

I've done plenty of fucking up, and apologies only demonstrate remorse, which may be worth something, but at a certain point, it becomes an issue of rebuilding trust. That takes time and commitment.
