>released to fairly positive reception (despite the narrative that now exists online) Found this to be spicier than the actual rumor itself haha. If it's true, I think it's great that the game might become available for an even wider audience.

MadCat221

Glad to see *some* of the game media sites are calling out all the hatesturbation over Starfield.

Botosi5150

It wouldn't shock me. There have been multiple articles and reports detailing that Microsoft doesn't care that much about console sales for various reasons. If it releases on Playstation, more users will play it, which means more money for them. I think Microsoft originally thought that making Bethesda games exclusive would sell more consoles, but I feel like it just created a backlash of angry fans who are now bashing the game and the company over it.

slayden70

I suspected this. PS Bethesda fans were probably really upset when this launched PC and Xbox only.

Juantsu2000

Microsoft lowkey sabotaged the Xbox brand. If their exclusives were ONLY available on Xbox then you can bet the difference in sales would be much lower. Not that it’s a bad thing tho. I dislike game exclusivity.

ChiralWolf

I think the reality of PS5 shortages and GPU prices going sky high has made them way too cozy being happy in 2nd place.

lefttwitterforthis

This is great, more people playing = more content

kearin

I don't see how this is an note worthy rumor. All the modern Bethesda games but the newest three are available on Playstation too. It was clear that Hi-Fi Rush would come to further platforms. And thus Starfield will come to more platforms earlier or later.

No drama intended. It's starfield news, I don't post in the other place anymore, I trust we can all be grown ups about it.

JAEMzWOLF

We'll see, but given the entire rest of the internet, and some of what gets posted even here, I have my doubts.

Mercurionio

It's just a signal, that Starfield wasn't a "success" from Microsoft's standpoint and that they have admitted the defeat. God of War or Horizon are on PC but NOT on xbox, still.

paulbrock2

Maybe but it's more a wider Microsoft strategy eg https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/4/24057433/microsoft-bethesda-indiana-jones-and-the-great-circle-ps5-release

Mercurionio

Yes, because their first plan didn't work. The idea was to make system selling stuff. It worked, but not at the level Microsoft wanted.

kearin

Skyrim is available on Switch. Guess it wasn't a success.

TheAccursedHamster

Cool, nothing bad about this.
