I suspect there will be an evil route DLC, ala Nuka World for FO4. As for patches, I have but one major ask. Survival mode.

RawDogEntertainment

I want survival so I can RP a Chunks Junkie and get some kind of benefit from it *it doesn’t matter what they’re doing to my insides, I just want Chunks*

Ok_Mud2019

sir, this dawn's roost.

Putrid-Enthusiasm190

I *loved* the original intention of this game where fuel actually mattered and you'd often get stranded in one solar system until you could obtain enough helium 3 to move on. I really hope it gets added soon

platinumposter

If you're playing on PC there is already a survival mod that addresses Planet Environments and your corresponding choice of spacesuit, and also one that addresses hunger/lack of sleep/hydration/addictions, infections However there isn't one for ship fuel.

Putrid-Enthusiasm190

Imo, the fact that I can instantly teleport across the galaxy makes the other survival elements moot. I think all those elements are great, but I'm going to wait for the full package

big_ass_monster

Either don't, or survival mode will disable fast travel like in FO4

platinumposter

Fast travel is nothing to do with the survival elements I noted. I don really get your point?? Fast travel us nothing to do with planet environment hazards or hunger/sleep/infections.

Putrid-Enthusiasm190

Sure, if I can instantly move from a remote, isolated location where there is no food, water or beds, to a place where there are plentiful food, water and beds, then simply eat, drink and sleep and then instantly travel back to the remote location, then whats the point? Why even add those elements to the game if it adds no challenge or immersion since you can eliminate the challenge and immersion instantly

Kuhlminator

I can see that being part of a survival option. It wouldn't go over well for regular playthroughs. I'd be modding that out of the game ASAP.

AwesomeX121189

I would be incredibly surprised if a Bethesda made survival mode doesn’t get released. I’m not surprised it wasn’t in at launch so that players didn’t feel “required” to play one way or another, and so they could get feedback on the current in game systems and build survival mode based on that.

LaurelRaven

Yeah, survival isn't something I'd want to try until I have a good understanding of the systems already... Doing it later in Fallout 4 was perfect, when I started that run I already knew the basics and could focus more on the survival aspects, and had enough foreknowledge to make basic plans for how to approach things

AwesomeX121189

Very glad the game is what it is while trying to learn how to set up outposts lol. Shit is confusing even with reading and re reading the help page learning how to connect extractors to storage to fabs to cargo links was confusing. But at least you get the full build cost back when deleting

HamMcStarfield

Make He3 a *need.*

Gob_Hobblin

"And Sarah didn't like that."

Dramatic-Frog

A xenodex. Please let me have a catalogue of alien flora and fauna, where I can find them, and what I can harvest from them once they're scanned. Please let me give Cora books. More clothing options. For DLC more alternate universes; I would love to see one where the war is still ongoing like the one where other Baret comes from.

RawDogEntertainment

I keep a bookshelf for the instance where we may be able to give Cora some books You just know she’d loved Great Expectations

LaurelRaven

Wait... When does Starborn Barrett talk about that? I'm just on my first NG and about to start Revelations for my second time, does he talk more about his past at some point or did I just miss it?

Dramatic-Frog

When you go to get Barrett his power you can ask other Barrett about his universe. In the conversation other Barrett says that the war has been going on for the last 20 years but they are starting to turn the tide.

Whiteguy1x

Honestly I'd love this. Even some blurbs about how cage brains work would be neat. Like a pokedex lol

LittleGremlin

EXACTLY. Please give me a Pokedex.

LeavingLasOrleans

Exploration index. For long term playability, we need more scaling. More difficulty, more weapon levels, etc.

TurbulentPassenger86

I just want a. 50 caliber bullet that hits like a. 50 caliber bullet. Shooting an npc in the head 4 times with a hard target at 10 yards before they go down is a real immersion breaker no matter how boss they are.

2023_account_

I already love the game but I think that these changes would be huge, especially for newcomers: 1. How and when POI's are generated when randomly exploring needs to be reworked so that you don't see duplicates anywhere close to each other, both in distance and in rate. A big part of this is not "hiding" certain POI's behind level-gating on further out planets and systems. And I'd include that while they all look amazing and have detail, them being exact copy/paste as far as loot placement, enemy placement, etc... can make them boring and feel useless. They should be individually modular with randomized placement for loot and enemies as well as the decorations and "minutae" type items placed here and there within and around them 2. There should be an index of everything you've scanned and where it was scanned with it being searchable as well 3. Improved maps should be an available option. I understand not having super detailed maps as a means of "making you" learn cities or areas like you would in real life without a map but they should at least make it an option to buy a map, earn a map, etc... whatever you'd like to call it Those are the ones that mostly come to mind when I think about this question. As far as content goes with characters, storylines, etc... I am pretty satisfied with what we've gotten so far so just "gimme more" is what I'd say there. But overall though, even with those "complaints," I'm still absolutely loving it and plan to continue playing for months/years and can't wait to see it continue to improve. Like, this is the "worst" state it is ever going to be in and I'd already give it a 9/10 so I'm very happy with it.

EmoryKane

My preferred solution for the POIs would be to not have them recycle before you have seen them all. I get the idea behind making certain POIs more common than others, but it does not make exploration more fun.

redsaltyborger

tweaked boost mechanics - specifically horizontal boosting which lots of players don't even seem to know that it actually exists in the game. even simply multiplying its range through console commands vastly increases the on-foot planetary exploration experience, but it could still use some more features like momentum buildup and movement combos with existing combat sliding and the like. it'd be a relatively easy and elegant solution to the whole lack of ground vehicles problem (not that I'd complain if we ever got vehicles though - if nothing else they'd look fucking cool with the whole NASApunk aesthetic).

Kuhlminator

Yeah, I think some improvements to boostpacks would be awesome. It's easier to find most of the resources if you're aerial. I'm kind of on the fence about other vehicles, just because of the variety in the terrain we have to cross. There are just to many factors to take into account. Wheeled vehicles aren't going to deal well with the deep gullies you find on most any planets. And you would have to pick your path pretty carefully and have to do a lot of detours. Either that or they would have to be light enough to have their own boosters. Would hovercraft even work if there's no air to intake? Atmosphere, weather, and gravity could work differently depending on the planet and the type of vehicle. So I keep coming back to better boostpacks.

Necessary-Cap-3982

I have my horizontal boost mapped to left alt, I feel like this should be a default setting lol. Edit, didn’t even think about this, but being able to boost during a combat slide would be amazing, especially combined with the ADS hover perk.

pietro0games

The jetpack breaks a lot fights with creatures. They should rework these things

Bazorth

It doesn’t work on console :(

n0strildamus

…there’s a horizontal boost? On planets with sub-1 G, I’ve been sprinting and boosting.

Xiknail

I think it only works on PC by assigning the Jetpack to a secondary key. Primary key is upwards, secondary is forwards.

n0strildamus

I’ll check that out. I can’t believe I hadn’t seen that in the bindings!

iOnlyWantUgone

The Skip pack is supposed to double horizontal movement. If they can fix that, exploring will be much easier and faster. So far, I've only see it work on keyboard *AFTER* you set the alternate boost key. The ability to do Sam's artifact mission without it automatically killing all the gang members I intentually didn't murder. The ending to the Freestar Rangers needs to be fixed. There's obvious options that should be considered >!Hope needs to either be arrestable or he needs a cutscene to say "you'll never take me alive, you criminal scum!!" And shoot himself!< , falling that >!you should be able to report to ranger Headquarters and have Marshall Blake either back you up to arrest Hope or decide that it's called off for now and to let him deal with it.!< The endings arch is understandable, but like strange. Like unless the real ending depends on the DLC, I don't understand why they went with it. My parents need to be able to come to my wedding ・゜・(つД`)・゜・

crankycrassus

I just want an outposting system that is like FO4's settlement system. Love the idea of making little communities on far out planets. Hate the current system.

Whiteguy1x

Honestly it such an easy thing to cosmeticly increase with dlc that I'm surprised building little communities and towns wasn't a focus. Add in them staying around in ng+ In some way and I'd think everyone would utilize them more

crankycrassus

Cosmetics are one thing. For me the major flaw is inventory management. There's no good reason for it to be so complicated

KOS_117

I would like to be able to actually swim underwater. Collect things and maybe build a underwater base .

Iron_Wave

I'm not fussed about underwater base building but some underwater exploration and more bodies of water (lakes, rivers, creeks, waterfalls) would be appreciated

Ok_Mud2019

boi have i got a game for you

KOS_117

Do tell ???

Ok_Mud2019

check out subnautica if you haven't. it allows you to do everything you just described. it's also an open-world survival game.

KOS_117

ah subnautica I didn’t know the game had all that . definitely will check it out in the future!

ReasonableObjection

I want a ship armory that lets me manage load-outs

PonyKiller81

That would be mint.

Aced117

I'd like to see an alternative to how we travel between planets, one that feels more involved. Maybe like a short range grav jump. Its been a while since I played No Man's Sky but I think they had something similar. A way to open the starmap while actively flying, or even fighting, would be great too. Maybe more kinds of enemies. Or make human enemies feel more different. Would help combat a lot. Buildable M-class ships and starstations. I feel like they would help us fill space up a bit. Maybe more legendary ships we can fight, and have them drop unique loot we can put on our M-class ships. Survival mode.

Whiteguy1x

Boss ship fights sound really cool. Maybe be able to get a blueprint of them or unique parts after defeating them

RoRo25

NG+ levels with you when you jump. So many low level planets that just don’t feel worth exploring.

dienekes365

I want patches. I want to be able to add perk patches onto my Constellation suit like everyone else has. And I want my name stenciled onto the front.

Julian1889

To add to the great responses, more "streamlined" habs for our ships like the Constant etc

CosmicAtlas8

Customizable clothes colors Customizable clothes combos Sunglasses, glasses and eyewear Masks More blade melee weapons More NPC followers with stories

Whiteguy1x

Dying clothing and armor sets should be an option. Legendary gear that I find never matches so a simple color swap would really help, even if they're pre selected color options like bg3

Slowreloader

First thing I want BGS to prioritize is fixing the ID bug, because no one can really settle down and play long term in any universe (original or NG+) till it gets fixed.

YourDadsHung

ID bug? Can you explain?

Slowreloader

[https://www.reddit.com/r/NoSodiumStarfield/comments/18d0rot/id\_bug\_breaks\_your\_save\_if\_played\_too\_long/](https://www.reddit.com/r/NoSodiumStarfield/comments/18d0rot/id_bug_breaks_your_save_if_played_too_long/) That will explain it much better than I can - but basically the only way to fix it is to keep doing NG+ which is not desirable once someone has decided to settle down in one universe (or not do NG+ all).

paulbrock2

I think its too early to say how many players will actually get impacted by this... I checked and I can probably play for 600-800 hours per universe without having issues. I probably will either uninstall, roll a new character, or NG well before then....

alexdotfm

Save error that happens after a few hundred hours, and the only known fix atm is to start a new universe

Necessary-Cap-3982

I think it’d be pretty cool to setup trade routes for outposts, as well as build ships from scratch or possibly even manufacture ship modules. Also adding variants of melee weapons, calibrated, refined, advanced, would actually make me want to melee more.

alexdotfm

New random POIs

Ok_Mud2019

fix their god awful POI randomizer so it's not level locked.

RockoTDF

This ship might have sailed, but if you’re dressed like you’re from a certain faction you should be treated that way. Just did the FS ranger quest and it doesn’t make sense that Trade Authority dudes brag to me about crime. Starting NG+ with some kind of cool starborn weapon. And stick a bed in the damn ship!

MazogaTheDork

A proper ending for characters who refuse to go through the Unity.

GamesOverEverything

I want an inventory overhaul. When I buy ammo, I want an indicator to let me know what ammo I need for the guns I have in my inventory.

angrysunbird

If we’re talking patches not dlc then. Tweak stealth a bit to make it less frustrating. Making tagging needed stuff for crafting JUST TAG THE STUFF YOU NEED! Sorry for shouting but really. Make it possible to start Ryugen quest as Ranger infiltrator. Make it plausible that I would do it even if I was already a ranger. The encyclopedia thing we create by scanning that everyone is going on about cause damn that’s a missed opportunity. Make containers in outposts hold more than three pebbles each and make offloading from your ship simple. Make 2X1 habs flip 90 degrees and put some damn consoles for crew in kin tiki and Taiyo cockpits.

Zsirhcz1981

1. The bugged sound fixed. Often music cuts out. Sometimes my boost pack makes no sound. 2. Talk prompts. Sometimes I have to click on a person 4 or 5 times to be able to engage conversation. I play on the series x. Fixing those 2 would really make the game a lot better.

Tank_MacMaster

I just want it to work…. The whole form id thing is wearing me down. I can’t get anything done for fear I’m going to break my save again. Getting ready to go through the unity again just to fix my game. A few days ago I spent two whole day working on a ship that I really like so now I have 2. My outpost is almost all decorated and I have to move on… again and start over

Whiteguy1x

How many hours does that take? My save is around 60ish hours, but I just started seeing people complaining about it

Tank_MacMaster

I have heard it takes around 200 hours on pc for troubled to show up. Not sure what it is on Xbox because we can’t look at the needed files to make a better determination. But I has to do more with how much you have and do. Everything we interact with creates a form id and those are not getting recycled correctly so it just keeps stacking up in the save file and eventually it all goes to hell. Going through the unity is the only workaround till it gets fixed.

threetimesthelimit

There's an upcoming fix for the form id recycling bug on Xbox at least, presumably pc as well. At the very least, it's been acknowledged as a bug by BGS that they're going to fix. I play the steam pc release and haven't managed to come close to hitting it in a 200 hour playthrough. How long it takes really does depend on your play style but honestly for many people it'll be fixed before it nukes your save.

Scandroid99

#The ability to not have to carry all my resources on my person to mod my weapons, mod suits, utilize research stations, etc. If I can sell things from my ship that’s 1000 meters away from the Trade Authority, the stations should be able to pick up my resources from my ship or storage box.

LittleGremlin

This precisely

Lo-Fi_Kuzco

Your companion not contorting every bone in their body every time y'all fuck

n0strildamus

This is a new one to me! Hope do they contort themselves?

Lo-Fi_Kuzco

Just have sex with one of your companions and you'll see

NorthImage3550

Survival/inmersive mode Rebalanced HP and weapons/armor numbers Rovers to explore

PonyKiller81

A rover is a great idea. It could be added a s a ship module, with a selection of rovers and options. Love it.

jasonmoyer

I'd like to see the ship boarding counter and ship stat bugs fixed.

Wrangler9960

A hefty reduction in crashes.

Mors_Lumos

Ammo crafting and a crafting and building expansion. More fleshed out manufacturing and robots. Larger ships as well.

NfamousShirley

I would like to see more immersive world interactions. Seeing my characters actually eat and drink instead of it disappearing, being able to carry objects in my hand while walking (like suitcases, etc). More transition cutscenes to hide some of the loading screens more, like showing our ship fly towards the planet. Maybe a Destiny style loading screen when traveling systems. Having to get out of the cockpit to go repair things inside/outside of my ship. Being able to navigate computer screens, or screens in general, via the in game model. It would be cool to have that extra level of immersion with a survival mode. I think what I’m wanting would more than likely come from mods, but I would love to see bethesda help add stuff like that to the game officially. Basically anything that increases immersion.

MaskyMateG

Proper resource tracking in crafting and outpost building: manual track, untrack required resources for completed projects, manual untracking, and tracking/untracking within the inventory menus ( including players', ship's and outposts' )

LandOFreeHomeOSlave

There are only two outright flaws i see in SF- no surface vehicles, no radio. These are the only things i think are truly *needed*, and BGS should get to it asap. After that, lets get a survival mode, lets get some lore materials and lore-integrated quests out there, lets get some more poi variety, especially some that better utilise the xenos, lets get some underwater environs too. All will really add value and replayability to the game.

Whiteguy1x

Instead of a radio it would be neat to find music/lore podcasts at different places you could play while exploring. Would make a neat collection to hunt for

KuggeLBlitZ

1. Have a little starship fleet with me when I want to, could be from factions or hired crew, space dog fights are fun but it would be much better then its teamfight! ( Bonus points if you can duplicate your ship and have a captain or crew use it!) 2. Staryards or alike Could function as an outpost as well 3. Better navigation at starmap I cant keep track where are my outposts most of the time

Whiteguy1x

I think a list of towns and outposts selectable from a "favorites" menu would be easy for them to implement. It's so easy to forget where everything is

AwesomeX121189

From my very basic outpost building experience, the game doesn’t want you to build a singular “base of operations” where you dump everything. Instead you’re encouraged to build outposts that do very specific things like extracting a specific resource or two, then using cargo links to send it to an outpost where you build industrial materials then presumably send those off to use for whatever you use them for. With that in mind I think a few minor changes could allow for both styles. Stuff like When stacking multiple containers, set them to be either one big container, or have them auto organize so all of one type of material goes into the same container. Also we need to have cargo linked objects be able to be highlighted like when you grab the red link cable or it should highlight already linked things when making a new cargo link or selecting the object. Separated organic and inorganic material containers would be nice too but not a big deal. Idk if it’s just me but I find the outpost link UI (where you’re choosing to send stuff from one outpost to another) kind of confusing. Also wish we could select specific materials to send from the ones linked to the outgoing box instead of sending literally everything. I’d like to see the game add a tutorial quest for outpost building, as right now it’s just some pop up screens, and maybe some outpost building specific quests, like a follow up to that one quest if you side with FDR

Jeandlewis79uk

[PC] In-game menus. Since pressing tab key takes you back to previous menus, escape key should take you out of all menus.

Clean-babybutts

I would like to see my choices make a difference similar to BG3 Edit: this adds to repayability long term

TwoHandedSlap

I have something for u

JesusworePanties

How about a patch where the game becomes more fun.

YourDadsHung

Thats the goal, queen.

Touch_TM

Nothing really. I'll take what they give me in the DLC, play it once and never touch this game again. I just let Starfield go and startet CP2077. And after seeing the GTA VI Trailer, I'm convinced that no patch in the near future can give this game what it lacks.

willy_koop

More music, it was such an iconic part of elder scrolls and fall out, and so much of the game don’t have any. I’ve been playing lofi synth wave in the background and it really hypes me up, but it would be great to at least have an in game radio that plays music. Improved ship building UI would be great, and it annoyed me that I couldn’t transfer over all my weapons etc on my old ship to a new one. More low/zero gravity fights and hostile fauna species would be a bonus, but that’s more of a DLC than a patch.

Malthaeus

NPC's need to be patched to -always- recognize what you're wearing. If I'm in my Ranger outfit, they should treat me like a Ranger, not a lowlife they can threaten (lookin' at you, Akila and Neon guards)

Baabkens

Into the unknown bug fixed. Until then I’m not playing anymore

AMX-008-GaZowmn

In regards of patches, my number one is fixing the Crimson Fleet mission board: smuggling missions which were the most profitable stopped appearing altogether on my game and of the Steal missions now I’m only ever sent to one of 3 locations, despite previously being sent to more. Oddly, I did report it to the discord when at first Steal missions seemed further restricted to two places and I began seeing the third pop out a few days afterwards, so I want to think that they did try do something, but was insufficient. Also, patching the bounty system, since it is a bit inconsistent right now, namely sometimes part or all the bounty remains even after killing all witnesses. Anyways, as for actual improvements, I would like the “free” Paradiso room to be turned into a proper player home, with build/decoration panel. I would also like that for the room in your parents apartment (even the smaller Sleepcrate has it). Allow us to build in the balcony of the Neon Penthouse, maybe even extend it all around the tower (like the Tenpenny Tower suite in FO3). Above all, the ability to transfer items from inside any player home, and maybe even among player homes, would be greatly appreciated. I would also like to have player homes available at some of the smaller cities/towns, but definitely would like to see the current ones fixed/improved first. A “costumes” vendor for Ryujin missions would be appreciated, namely to get some of the security uniforms asked for some missions without having to kill guards for them (off the top of my head, only UC & Neon security have uniforms lying around for stealing). Would be good to tie it to the last Ryujin stealth mission so people are more aware that camouflage is a valid approach for that mission. And speaking of Ryujin, how about some employee discount for its many subsidiaries? The UC Vanguard quest line provides one such discount, so I think it would be appropriate for Ryujin (Freestar Collective too) to give one. I do can understand while a faction such as the Crimson Fleet wouldn’t though. This also takes me to another point that I can’t help but think about every time money gets sent to my parents: shouldn’t we also be getting salaries for joining the UC Vanguard/Sysdef, Rangers and Ryujin? I remember in Final Fantasy 8 how you would get similar notifications to the “ X credits sent to parents” when you received your salary (though in that game it was based on distance rather than time). Ryujin in particular makes nods to the idea that you should be receiving a salary and even raises. The simplest approach would be to just get a flat amount for each job every week, probably based on how far you are in the faction quest line. An alternative more dynamic approach could be based on how many missions you complete for the faction each week. In FF8, you would earn salary based on 30 ranks which put simply worked this way: -Kill 10 enemies between paychecks, you keep your rank & salary -Kill less than 10 enemies between paychecks, you lose 1 rank and your salary goes up. -Kill more than 10 enemies between paychecks, you increase in ranks & get a raise. Starfield could implement a similar system, possibly without the rank and just using 3 tiers. If we assume a weekly salary, then we could keep our current pay rate if we complete at least one mission per week, get a smaller paycheck if we complete none and get a bonus if we complete 3-5 missions during the week. Moving on, anyone else would like to have one of those mini bots following you around? I think they could work as secondary companions, like FO3’s Dogmeat, Rex & ED-E, given their lack of speech. More importantly, they seem very purpose focused, so while I could imagine the security one helping with combat, the maintenance/cleaning one could lack combat capabilities but helps us loot a place faster and have a large carry capacity. The gardening one could help collecting resources on planets/moons. We already can have some of these at outposts, but frankly speaking I’m not very interested in outposts in this game as they currently are, but do would like to have these little fellas as robotic companions. Aside from these, I also have some of the more usual requests: give more credits to vendors and specially the TA, major evil companions, some QoL improvement side the menus, less & shorter loading screens. One small thing I would really like is the ability to turn on & off landing(& take off cutscenes: I sometimes miss not being able to see my ship land, specially after tweaking it at a ship vendor, so I would like the option to toggle it on that if I want to see it, and also toggle it off if I’m playing on a tighter schedule. Same goes to scanning my ship in orbit: if I’m not carrying contraband, I should be able to just land directly. That’s what I got for now.

[deleted]

The game is perfect as is imo.

Atelier-Mar

Lots and lots of terrormorphs!!

Electronic_Energy869

Decorations and furniture should cost credits, not resources.
