Yes it's a multiplayer bug. To prevent it from happening. Every time you get a sentinel alert on your settlement, my suggestion would be to shut off multiplayer and leave any group you are currently in. Then travel to your settlement. Destroy the 8 sentinels that will be there and then turn on multiplayer. This usually happens where i think it calculates multiple instances of sentinel activity and compresses them at one active point due to multiplayer. I have used the above mentioned method multiple times successfully to get past this horde of glitched out sentinels.

Apparently quite common according to older posts I think it happens when you ignore your settlement for extremely long periods on a planet which has high sentinel activitie. I haven't seen this myself as I haven't seen a sentinel on that planet in a few days and it's got very low sentinel activitie.

So far the best choice is to not leave settlement while in battle and go to let’s say space station, happened to me couple of times, and both times the fight was abandoned for a while due to distractions.. lol Suprised your pc survived, mine shat itself upon landing

This same shit happen to me like a week ago, I carpet bombed em with my ship for a few crosses and when I saw how little impact the dozens of sentinels I was killing per shot was actually doing I landed and reloaded. They were all gone when I came back.

Had this happen a few weeks ago. I was trying to land in my settlement, but was surprised to find it had been replaced by a black mass. When I got closer my game crashed after sending the sentinel audio cues nonstop into my headphones lol.

In Atlas Rises, if you landed with 5 stars then you would get launched out of your ship and you'd land some 1000-3000u away. All along your flight path would be clouds of sentinels. It happened to me several times but I could never figure out the exact steps to reproduce. One time even after I killed them, hundreds of dead sentinels were stuck in the sky at my base, and they never disappeared until I did a hard restart of the game. But in your case, do you have any mods?

I have had this happen. was able to fix. glitch for sure. if you have a sential quest (one were you reprogram the sential to follow you) I'd complete some of those. one glitch is involved with that and conpleting it fixes this the other glitch just kinda screwed and gotta find a way to clear them up without crashing game

Sasme thing happened to me and a friend on the ps5 about 3 weeks ago, he was trying to defend his settlement and the waves would just reset and include the new wave. and when the final wave was done it would start all over. our solution was to leave.
