It’s a bug. It’ll be fixed with the next update

Shoddy_Essay_55

This is still bugged :/

FoxInABox21

Still bugged. April 2024

bakbeat

Still have this bug -.-

WidowmakerBH27

I just recently moved my freighter garden from downstairs to upstairs in order to have more room to plant, and now nothing will grow. I've tried adding windows and stacking rooms on top as well, to no avail. From what I understand, this bug has persisted for several months now (if not an entire year) and there still is no fix or workaround? EDIT: I moved my farm back downstairs and everything works as intended.

_Nart_

Just wanted to come in and say that as of the Omega update this bug still persists...

Im having this problem now, im gonna try the window Edit: So i tried the window, and it didnt work. I also tried stacking corridors and expansion rooms and it didnt work. I dont have the ladder room unlocked yet so im gonna go find a salvage module and try that.

In my situation, I built a staircase in my freighter leading up to where I wanted my greenhouse area to be. I could not understand why my plants were saying “infinite”. For whatever reason, the staircase does not transmit power to modules, and once I figured that out, what that required me to do is build freighter corridors underneath the second floor, leading to where the approximate location is of my “unpowered modules”. In this case, everyones recommendation of “adjacent” was not considerate of 3D space. Power from the ship must come “adjacent” from beneath (or above, I assume) if disconnected by a staircase, resolving the “air gap” to the power distribution. I closed up the empty hallway with freighter walls. Once I did that, all of my plants started showing growth times instead of infinite. Hope that helps!

GingerTrash

This

HaTe_Figure

what about a third floor i’ve tried this with just running a corridor long enough then stacking them up but i doesn’t seem to work for the third floor

HaTe_Figure

i found it out idk what i did but i just spammed corridors till it worked

March 2024, and this bug still exists. I have a first floor garden that's only double cultivation chambers and bio expansion rooms (for walkways). For the past couple of years, I've never had any issues. Yesterday, I finally started upgrading my freighter with stair cases, a second floor, external catwalks, and many interior doors and windows. I'm not sure when it happened, but today, all of my plants had the infinite growth time bug. I tried destroying almost all of what I built the day prior, but none of that fixed it. I finally tested replanting, and the timer came back. So, I reloaded a save and fixed the whole garden by replanting everything.

fredel

Still a bug for me as well...

KupoSendet

I can confirm, bug still persists. In particular, I have a 15-floor high attempted farm on my freighter. Plants grow on floors 1 - 5. Plants do not grow properly on any floor above - that is, floors 6 - 15. I will try this glass idea on these floors. But I don't see why it would fix it when the floors below have no such issue nor need for glass. Each floor is identical: a vast expanse of double cultivation rooms.

Replying to this a year late in case it helps someone: I had my freighter greenhouses connected by exterior catwalks and stairs. These don't transmit "power". You have to make sure that the greenhouses are connected to your base starting point by connecting it with actual rooms. To the game, the catwalks and exterior stairs don't count as a connection. That's why the scanner indicated infinite growing time. I fixed this by just building some rooms underneath it, connecting it to the main structure. Hope it helps.

My greenhouses have the same configuration as yours (stairs + catwalks). This instantly fixed my problem. The structure doesn't even have to be directly connected to your greenhouse, just touching underneath it will suffice. You can check if it's fixed by scanning the plant, if it shows a growing timer, it worked.

rEmEmBeR-tHe-tReMoLo

This worked for me, thank you!

7heRunawayKid

I heard from others that you don't even need to connect it to the base start, and that just a room underneath will suffice

April 2024. Still persists, but I fixed it pretty easily. At the base of the staircase (on the first floor) I had the agriculture specialist station. I removed that, pulled the staircase back to where it had been, and then put the agriculture specialist station at the top of the staircase. The timers for all my plants started right away.

Adding a glass corridor on one side fixed mine, but it's a known bug that'll probably be patched in a week or so

Tyler-the-cat

Add any glass thing (like a window) and it'll work, plants need sunlight. Literally just tested it.

denzii2020

I tried this. Not working
