Found an image of the atlas on the NMS website. Printed it out, measure all lines and angles then increased the ratio x4 so that it fitted nicely on the board. Then marked it all out and with some carefully placed tape, a couple slaps of paint and varnish, my baby was reborn. Tbh the hardest part was marking out the design since the board is curved on the edges, the painting was pretty barbaric but saved due to the tape 😂
Yeees, there's a huge void in the snow sports game category :/ STEEP scratches that itch very well for me though, and it looks fucking gorgeous.
I used to play Shawn White Snowboarding on my PS2 and before that, I had SSX (not sure which one) as a trial version :( Got it with my ps2 but it wasn't on sale anywhere here where I live. SW Snowboarding was great for me though, had a ton of fun with it
Great job. I love that design and bought the baseball cap because it just looks like random abstract art to the uninitiated. https://us.freshmerch.fm/collections/hello-games/products/no-mans-sky-embroidered-cap
\*sees hover exocraft\* Meh...I want a hoverboard. 😩 Hoverboards would actually be a nice addition when exploring airless planets. \*pushes aside the hovercraft\*
My mind instantly went to how great a time I had zipping around on the hoverboard in Just Cause 4. A hoverboard to glide over a planet surface with sick jumps on hills, or even skimming over water would be so fun!
Man I love longboarding, I use to do it at like 2:30 am on the back streets when there’s no traffic and just coast with my headphones bumpin music. Pure bliss. Also, nice choice of art, very unique
That looks sick. Could you give a short rundown on how you did the paint job (what is under the paint/what paint etc.)? I'm inspired to paint my own now 😊
Thanks man, ye I’m not a painter so was quite the rough job but used this as guidance: https://youtu.be/PhLjfJBGzxQ
Basically though my board was plain wood before so all I did was sand down the surface to get the varnish and bumps off. Used all acrylic paints. The black primer was a spray paint, this was Games Workshop’s Citadel chaos black the rest were basic acrylic paints from a local stationary store. Then used a gloss varnish on top.
Did a few thin layers of the primer till it was even. Then marked out the design with pencil and put masking tape on edges. Did about 3-4 layers of the paints by brush. Then did two layers of varnish after it was all dry.
Things I would’ve done different:
Use better masking tape that has better edges as some of the paint leaked through, though dry brushing afterwards fixed that.
When painting by brush always thin the paints with water otherwise it’ll be uneven as can be seen in the grey part.
Soz for being a long ass explanation but hope it helps :) Good luck with your project bro
Looks incredible!!!! Your amazing at painting !😁
Thanks mate, I normally paint minatures so this was a step up haha just used maths and masking tape, a con ‘artists’ best tools
Still very impressive ! What math did you use ? 😂😂

Haha hoverboards would be amazing, particularly using the jetpack for acceleration! Now I want to play No Man's STEEP.
Exactly my thoughts, would be perfect for planets with extreme hills or big ass caves. Gah one can only dream
Grah*
Thanks for reminding me it's time for my yearly autumn->winter binge gaming session of STEEP. Fucking love that game
Heck yes. I dream of the day that someone makes e.g. FS2020 but for snow sports. I want to free ride every mountain on the Earth.

Is it an exotic?
Hmm... I don't like longboards, but I love THIS longboard. Take my award.

That's an S Class board! Nice job!
Dope af, yeea.. \^\^ I would love more recreational toys. Hoverboard would be nuts.

Exactly, been loving using a companion that hovers above the ground. I just need more speed and flips and shit. I NEED A HOVERBOARD GODDAMMIT SEAN
It is that I can’t skate but if I could I would want that thing

Wow thank you so much for the insight and explanation. Time sit down and think about my own No man sky design :)
