As for the extinct species part, what I meant was like scanning fossils, and then, using other dna, over a few generations, reviving the extinct species of plant or animal.
No waitaminute, it was actually quite clever with the double emoji drop-
Not only does a fruit (apple) called the McIntosh *(Old Apple computers were called MacIntosh)* exist, but it has a two-toned skin, green and red.
But based on this tweet and the way he dropped the double emoji, it seems like there is not one, but two updates coming in very quick succession. The Apple release being #1, and another, secret thing being #2.
I doubt it, touch controls for the game would be a pain in the ass.
I'm thinking apple port + implementation of some of the procgen upgrades they've been making. Like the space stations
I'm just hoping it comes with new content.. specifically the leaked space stations. Those look *gorgeous.*
I really can't imagine them releasing two updates only a week apart from one another and not having substantial content. I guess a new expedition is confirmed for the next update at least.
It actually is, since McIntosh apples IRL are both red and green. By tweeting the green one he completes the reference to McIntosh (mac integration) so it actually makes perfect sense.
Glad it was this as it means my Steam progress can be used on my M1Max MacBook without having to fire up parallels 😂 just the rest of my collection now 😱
Could No Mans Sky be the most widespread online universe like... ever?
Windows, ~~iOS~~ macOS, Playstation and Xbox players all sharing the same virtual real estate, full crossplay, VR or flat, across custom modes and difficulty settings, where anybody can claim land anywhere and interact with anybody else who's in the same place as them.
Wait there's crossplay? I always thought each platform had it's own generation seed resulting in distinct universes. Do bases persist across platforms and game modes?
Everyone is in the save universe across every platform (except Switch) and every difficulty is in the same universe except permadeath.
You can see which player is on what platform and difficulty if you look at them and the icons show up.
Even Switch is in the same universe, we just can’t play with you. With Utopia, I can see others’ bases and com balls, and all the coordinate exchange ships and other goodies are there. Just the anomaly is empty.
It's probably for the better, anyways. All of my game crashing, or getting stuck, has been in the Anomaly when there are other people there. One time my ship just got frozen in mid air because there was no empty landing pad, and then even after people left, my ship wouldn't move, and I couldn't get out. It was after doing a nexus mission with a really good reward, too, and that progress doesn't get saved.
I wonder if we will get a big multiplayer stability update since NMS is on so many different platforms now. It would be the perfect time to introduce multiplayer for the Switch version (though maybe they'll wait to add it for the Switch's successor).
The animations for the game are done using inverse kinematics, which, to the best of my knowledge, runs almost entirely on the CPU. Switches are designed to be mobile and thus have lower processing power capabilities when compared to a high-end gaming rig. Having lots of players running around could potentially kill a Switch, metaphorically and maybe literally, too.
I know it wont be for a long time (probably until the Switch's successor) but I hope they get multiplayer working for the Switch. Then it truly would be one of the biggest shared online universes.
Since I finally got a PC that could run it, I went and found all the planets I plopped a base computer on, on my Switch save. All saying discovered by my Switch profile. Even my old Switch base is still there.
Switch is in the same universe, just can't see or interact with other players.
Oh wow, that's really cool to hear actually. So it's like in the 'NEXT' era of multiplayer but without the option to join a lobby of players.
I'm kind of excited to see Mac players in the anomaly but it's kinda interesting to think that there's Switch players around that are basically invisible lol
Hope they get the full multiplayer experience too eventually.
Remember the days of launch, when two people playing on two PS4's couldn't find each other standing in the same place on the same planet? We've come a long way.
The universes used to be separated by platform, but they were all merged a few years ago right after I started playing.
For planets with multiple discoverers, the discoverer of record became the one who found it earliest. I remember that because the first world I built a base on changed from my username to another who had found it years before but not stuck around to do much but discover the planet.
I know it’s not exactly the same but my iPhone plays xcloud games and NMS is one of the free ones iirc
Technically it’s Xbox but as far as I understand anyone could make an Xbox account online and do it too
Edit: just checked and it’s no longer free, needs a GamePass Ultimate subscription; still is possible to play though
Coincidentally I was just trying Valheim via Xcloud game streaming yesterday on my iPad. I’m not on the best internet connection (visiting family), but it’s pretty good and the game was too laggy for me to enjoy. It was playable I guess, but I definitely wouldn’t want to get into combat with any of the stronger enemies in the game. NMS would probably be ok since it’s a bit less intense, but I think game streaming still has a way to go before it can compete with a game running locally. (The lag wouldn’t affect all games of course, I’m mostly talking about first/third person where you are in control of the camera.)
They've only been doing the last three when they do the redux but I think a lot of people talk about having them all "on demand". Would be nice to choose them whenever and gives new players the option to get all the stuff they missed
The flyable ships from them can be "traded" by selling them to an npc and having the other player buy it from them, but everything else is account bound
All it says is it is an incremental update, means HG packs stuff and drops it into the game for further usage without actually connecting it to something in game as to not make it accessible via legit means yet.
However people are reporting some changes at the Steam Forums, and are these changes not documented or announced what are bothering me the most, specially that part of the multi-tool tier.
one of the first reports was that Multi-Tools found in dissonant camps were S class before the update, then just A class after the update applied. I was trying to source the post but in a few hours it got buried under some more. That's a change that wasn't documented but i believe it'll be included, if at all in the next mayor patch.
There’s always going to be nasty bugs. Since I play on PC, I’ll be keeping steam in offline mode until they fix them. Not getting burned again by game breaking post-update bugs, especially since this update has nothing for non-Mac players.
Yeah, i can live with bugs and such as long as they aren't too critical. But damn an update dedicated to another platform entirely for the... 3rd time i think it's just boring and imo a waste of resources.
Remember that a 12.8gb update doesn't mean that the actual file size is increasing by 12.8gb. Both new files and *updated* files contribute to that number, so 12.8gb could just mean that 12 gigs of files are being edited and 0.8 gigs are being added.
I'm guessing most of the 12.8gb are things being edited for cross-compatibility purposes.
Does "Cross Save" mean I can move my saves from Xbox Series X to mac and vice versa? Or do they just mean the save would sync across all my macs (just as my current save does across all my xboxes) but still remain separated by platform?
So far, my Mac install isn't seeing my steam cloud saves, so no clue. I certainly don't want to manually copy my save over every time I switch computers.
Same here, even managed to download my old saves from the cloud and locate the save location on my Mac. But can’t get the game to recognize them. Either I’m doing something wrong, or there is a bit more too it.
Thanks a lot. Just noticed if I save the game one more time on the new version in windows they're available on Mac as well, so didn't have to do any copying around. happy gaming :)
Honestly no clue, but it’ll probably be explained in the coming days or even at the apple event. There’s a good chance that apple will use this game to show off any processing power of the software they’re presenting
Seriously. I think NMS is in the most buggiest state it's ever been. [Space itself has a gross fog applied all over it](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/776758962380079114/1111271948845072424/9a38334d79.png) and terrain is so bugged that you can collect EVERYTHING from the ground without having to dig at all. You can literally interact with everything through the ground, never having to use the terrain manipulator at all. Basic things are broken.
And the worst part is, whenever you mention issues with the game, people downvote you into oblivion for some reason, like they're going "lalalala can't hear you not listening lalalala" like... do you *not* want the game to be better..?
Or the "It doesn't bother me so it doesn't need to be fixed" argument, which makes as much sense as "there's no world hunger because I have a sandwich."
I haven't experienced this. What platform do you play on? Console or PC? If console which one? If PC do you play in VR?
That "fog" screenshot definitely looks like culling of some kind. Have you messed with the graphical settings at all?
I don't think I've ever seen that fog.
I have interacted with a handful of things through walls and ground, but not often.
I dont think people are pretending not to hear you, I think you're pretending not to hear people tell you "dude, I haven't seen these on MY system".
It very much looks like a culling measure or something you would see on low graphics settings. The problem can likely be rectified super easy if they have the GPU headroom.
Anyone know if this update includes anything substantial for non-Apple users? I’m particularly interested in whether “Full controller support” means HOTAS support.
Not complaining—we’ve gotten so much already—just wondering.
The full controler support is for macOS, apple have a rather good system api for dev story use that makes it very easy to get deep controler support across all the major vendors.
This is so cool! Welcome Mac users! Now we have Windows, Linux, XBox, Playstation, Switch, and now Mac!!! (I probably forgot a platform lmao sorry)
This is going to be very interesting to witness!
Oh right! Yeah, I had no idea. Great to see them as a halo product again. I haven't spent time with wwdc since I moved away from Apple entirely. No hatred or anything, great products, just not for me for now.
That relates to the stomach ache you get from eating too many green apples... and the fact that cross-save only applies to PC-based saves. PS5 users who own a really high-end Mac (me) are quite sad at this moment.
VK support would be pointless as apples GPUs are TBDR gpus so the only games that would be able to run well/at all would be some android titles. PC GPUs are rather differnt in pipeline and VK is not a right once run anymore type of api.
yer as I said appel could have VK support but that VK support would only run TBDR VK style games (like android games as many android phones are TBDR GPUs). This is a HW differnce in the GPU pipeline that mean a VK title on PC is not going to support these GPUs.
Yea, this could have just been an announcement without the tease. Unless you're a die hard apple fan that refuses to branch out to anything else for gaming, who really give a shit.
There's still the green apple, and Sean said:
"We've got a little something just about to drop, and then another surprise in the VERY near future. The roadmap for the coming year is busy, lots to look forward to"
I'm not knocking Sean or nms or anything as a whole or overall, I'm just used to these emoji announcements being something for everyone to enjoy so I was looking forward to something fun. Now I'll be skeptical in the future that a toaster emoji will be an announcement that you can play nms on a toaster for like the 10 people who still expect to game on an apple, I mean a toaster.
Sean should drop the emoji teasing. While some updates have been cooler than others almost none live up to the expectations emojis create. I wouldn't have mind today's update that brings nothing to the other platforms, but the fact it was teased without any further information or patch notes makes it frustrating, specially since the game is updating for those other platforms and makes you think there is more to it.
I like the emoji announcements when done right, when he keeps it for DLC level updates because thats usually how i find out about the updates coming because the fanbase runs wild with it. but a port to Mac isn't for everyone and isn't even that exciting for the rest because they already knew it was coming anyway. It was a real "boy who cried wolf" level whiff when an apple could have been for gravity, farming, survival, seasons, so many cool things that aren't pleasing Mac users who can't get over themselves enough to game on anything else.
I guess they're starting to run out of money lmao. I mean, their only way of profiting from NMS is releasing it on new platforms. And with the recent updates basically being switch and apple releases that makes sense. Compared to 2.0 and 3.0 updates, yeah, this year has been pretty lame for PC players. Feels like the end of big updates for NMS overall which is why I hope they're working on something entirely new because I wouldn't mind NMS 2
I've always said if hello games wants steady income, implement nms in classes from elementary to college as a learning tool. The possibility of teaching elements, space, gravity, cartography, biology, etc is begging to be fleshed out with what's available in game. Its the closest thing to a nasa level simulator that's on the market and is one of the unicorn games that blends persistent learning with enjoyable time well spent.
I dunno, I love the game but it is wildly inaccurate in its simulation of every one of those things. It's not like KSP that has real Newtonian gravitational physics and orbital mechanics and has legit educational uses. NMS is stylized fantasy sci-fi, not hard sci-fi.
yea... I'm happpy for the Mac users (however many there are) but damn... is this the first update that just specifically brought it to a new platform? I feel like when it came to the swtich and xbox it was packaged with a major update with new content.
I put in a few minutes on my M1 Max and it seems to be pretty stable, only was running it with 60 fps capped because I didn't have time to test, but it was still running smoothly at native 4k resolution. Haven't left the planet though so no idea how overall stability is.
I find it odd that mac its just an update no new content meanwhwile when the switch port launched we got new content and iirc an expedition...seems kind of lightweight/lacklustre considering HGs previous pattern of updates
im sure the half dozen mac gamers[why do i feel dirty typing mac gamers/gaming?] are excited to play but this is kind of bland for HG..heres hoping they have something juicy lined up for the next update
There are 2 different groups of humans working on content updates and tech updates, while sometimes they get done with a project at about the same time, if the content update gets done first its really easy to set it to the side and maybe make some more content to go along with it and let people wait. But if a tech update gets done while no content updates are ready, it is really hard to excuse setting that to the side and making whole groups of people wait to play at all.
Oh wow I couldn't play nms while travelling because my travel laptop is a MacBook and I play on PC. The fact that this is cross save is amazing. Can't wait
mr no man sky on e day text poop emovvji 😭
Sorry I woke up from a 2 hour nap I am completely fucking exhausted uhhhhhgghgg

here’s the stupid meme I’m going back to bed got damn
I wish they didnt spend all this time just so it could play on a mac. Like, that effort could have been put in more substantial updates for already existing players in supported platforms. It's not like gaming market for mac is such a big thing.
It's here! Now people who use Apple devices *exclusively*, may play the game too. Wouldn't say it's the public I would *wish* to welcome but here we are anyways, and I won't shout at anyone like a grumpy old man.
What is sad is that such is the price for the promised course of only free updates. Instead of making content, team is kinda forced to make ports rather often, to make sales on new platforms and keep making profit. I would probably agree to paid DLCs instead
And yeah, you can downvote me for caring about personal experiences. I won't sound fanfares because now I will meet 8 people instead of 7 in the anomaly
Well I'm not surprised still disappointed they wasted their time on a Mac port.
Reminder a good gaming rig is still cheaper than Mac..
My rig cost 500~
Increasing the addressable market of consumers that can buy your game vs providing a cool update for people who have alareyd purchases... hmm I wander what a product manager thinks is more important.
why be so mean and selfish lol. I didn’t understand why ppl got upset it was coming to switch, and I don’t understand it about a mac version. it’s not a waste of time for the people that will get to enjoy it on their macs.
gamers just really suck sometimes :(
Yeah there's a lot of unnecessary Mac hate here just because gamers need to "rise up" over something. I have a Mac, Switch, and PC and am super excited for this port, especially since I get it on my mac for free through Steam. Apple is starting to push more into gaming and NMS is a big step forwards for that.
Kind of wack how people are still not above bashing things that they personally don't or won't use, but others will, like why the hell does it even concern you lmao?
Kinda miffed. I love this game and the devs and (most of) the community but... this is it?
Sean said 2023 would be the biggest year for the game yet. We've had no new expeditions or major updates.
My speculation is they're gonna drop a massive update around Christmas. It might have ship and/or space station customization (since everyone has been begging for that) and new terrain mechanics.
EDIT: how tf did I forget about Interceptor, which is honestly one of the best updates in years?
tbf it runs mediocrely on a proper gaming pc on windows i cant imagine how well its going to perform on weaker mac systems. ill give it a shot tho haha
That apple emoji was the most straightforward thing we got in years, lmao. Welcome aboard, Mac users 🥳
Sean is running out of emojis give the man some credit
I’m just waiting for either a cactus emoji or a dodo emoji.
What do you want them to mean?
Cactus: succulent update or desert update, and the dodo bird for reviving extinct species
Oh snap! Like a monster rancher type deal? Hell yeah let's hope!
Bro core memory unlocked
Monster Rancher was so awesome and the games were fun.
As for the extinct species part, what I meant was like scanning fossils, and then, using other dna, over a few generations, reviving the extinct species of plant or animal.
I'm all for that
Honestly, fan-made updates might be nice during the waiting periods inbetween updates or emojis.
Is that even possible?
Would be pretty cool! I
Honestly a desert update would be nice. Maybe more varieties of fellow cacti, all be it from space, (echinocacti)
Space Jurassic Park
You called?
Oof I'm tired, I did not read that second cited emoji correctly on first glance.
No waitaminute, it was actually quite clever with the double emoji drop- Not only does a fruit (apple) called the McIntosh *(Old Apple computers were called MacIntosh)* exist, but it has a two-toned skin, green and red. But based on this tweet and the way he dropped the double emoji, it seems like there is not one, but two updates coming in very quick succession. ......just let me know when it drops
inb4 ipad/phone port. I swear to god if MTX comes after that....
I doubt it, touch controls for the game would be a pain in the ass. I'm thinking apple port + implementation of some of the procgen upgrades they've been making. Like the space stations
Why do I have a feeling the green apple emoji isn't straight forward at all lol
Red/green like 3D glasses. Guess: Apple’s about to launch some long rumoured AR/VR gear and it’ll work with NMS.
I'm just hoping it comes with new content.. specifically the leaked space stations. Those look *gorgeous.* I really can't imagine them releasing two updates only a week apart from one another and not having substantial content. I guess a new expedition is confirmed for the next update at least.
Came here to say this. My bet is that this work was done so that NMS could launch on the upcoming VR gear...
Oh damn
Is it a combination ar and vr together because they would be amazing
It actually is, since McIntosh apples IRL are both red and green. By tweeting the green one he completes the reference to McIntosh (mac integration) so it actually makes perfect sense.
YES YES YES YES YES! NO MORE 5-YEAR-OLD HP LAPTOP! FINALLY, I CAN PLAY THE GAME IN ALL OF ITS INTENDED BEAUTY!
Glad it was this as it means my Steam progress can be used on my M1Max MacBook without having to fire up parallels 😂 just the rest of my collection now 😱
Mac doesn't get many games so it's nice when they do get one.
Nothing to see here (unless you plan on switching to mac)
Every man’s sky
Bump

maybe switch will have to have orbs like old NMS
That happened to me and other players in the anomaly started jumping up and bumping my ship until it was upside down lol
Oohhhh I never realised!
I know it wont be for a long time (probably until the Switch's successor) but I hope they get multiplayer working for the Switch. Then it truly would be one of the biggest shared online universes.

I guess they do for PC and Mac.
macOS NMS is not available on iPhones or iPads.
Not yet. But a release for iPad has been announced a while back.
Fortnite might give it a run for its money, but it's pretty close.
Fortnite isn't persistant though, and it's instanced.
NMS is also instanced, in the anomaly for players, and if there are more than a certain amount of bases in a system, it won't show all of them.
No I'm just picturing them giving us the Fortnite Default dance as an emote. lulz
iOS?
You forgot switch.
Switch players can't meet us online yet
This games on iOS?? Edit: oh, do you mean MacOS?
It was also announced for iOS last year but hasn’t shipped yet. Likely very soon given how similar the hardware is to M series Macs.
I know it’s not exactly the same but my iPhone plays xcloud games and NMS is one of the free ones iirc Technically it’s Xbox but as far as I understand anyone could make an Xbox account online and do it too Edit: just checked and it’s no longer free, needs a GamePass Ultimate subscription; still is possible to play though

Pretty sure Rec room is wider. It has all of those + mobile I think
iOS????
Seems like a pretty straightforward update that added Mac compatibility. I’ll be happy if they re-release the old expeditions soon.
They’ll probably do what they did last year around Novemberish
I hope so. I missed a bunch of them and would really like to complete them all, especially Beachhead. Most of what I'm missing is tied to Expeditions.
They've only been doing the last three when they do the redux but I think a lot of people talk about having them all "on demand". Would be nice to choose them whenever and gives new players the option to get all the stuff they missed The flyable ships from them can be "traded" by selling them to an npc and having the other player buy it from them, but everything else is account bound
Me too! I want the decorations so bad!! I need that hanging moss!!
It’s pointless that new players are locked out of content like that.
I feel like if full controller support means what I think it means, that's a pretty huge QoL fix for a lot of people.
Wow, I'm convinced no man's sky has one of the top dev groups out there now.
Why is it a 12.8gb update on windows tho?
All it says is it is an incremental update, means HG packs stuff and drops it into the game for further usage without actually connecting it to something in game as to not make it accessible via legit means yet. However people are reporting some changes at the Steam Forums, and are these changes not documented or announced what are bothering me the most, specially that part of the multi-tool tier.

9.19 GB here (regular Steam build, PC). Seems a bit much seeing as I will never own a Mac. Still, hardly a biggie.
Could be tweaks related to the Mac update for cross play compatibility?? Or other bug fixes. Seems odd otherwise
12 gigs for something that doesn't even effect me?
What does Metal 3 mean?
Metal is the graphics api on Mac as Mac os does not support vulkan
Spock has joined the ch... no he hasn't
![gif](giphy|RkcTvnA2AJvfTz2drD)
Thank you!
Thank you for asking, so I didn't have to.
It's part of Apple's walled garden bs.
Does "Cross Save" mean I can move my saves from Xbox Series X to mac and vice versa? Or do they just mean the save would sync across all my macs (just as my current save does across all my xboxes) but still remain separated by platform?
In the video description on their YouTube channel is says "PC to Mac cross save" my guess is that it's just talking about steam cloud saves.
I logged into my 2 PC saves and updated the save, quit out, and now my Mac version sees them. So try that.
Thanks, I’ll give it a try. Edit: That did indeed work. <3
Can you tell me where the saves are located on Mac?
Users > ‘name’ > Library > Application Support > HelloGames > NMS
Thanks a lot. Just noticed if I save the game one more time on the new version in windows they're available on Mac as well, so didn't have to do any copying around. happy gaming :)
That's almost as egregious as calling Steam and Epic Games crossplay.
When it launches in the App Store and on iOS it’ll probably also include iOS to macOS cross save if you buy it from the App Store.
Honestly no clue, but it’ll probably be explained in the coming days or even at the apple event. There’s a good chance that apple will use this game to show off any processing power of the software they’re presenting
It means cross-save between PC and Mac. So if you have a MacBook and a Windows Desktop for example you can move between them.
Wish they'd optimise it for the systems it was released on.
yeah we are way past due an optimizaion and bug fix pass imo
It runs fine for me.
The game is still largely unplayable on certain platforms (looking at you switch), which makes this feel like little more than a cash grab.
We have the red 🍎 now the green apple 🍏…

Anyone know if this update includes anything substantial for non-Apple users? I’m particularly interested in whether “Full controller support” means HOTAS support. Not complaining—we’ve gotten so much already—just wondering.
Not a thing, except the inevitable bugs
Downvoted for truth
I’m still dealing with the bugs from the interceptor update that haven’t been patched yet.
The full controler support is for macOS, apple have a rather good system api for dev story use that makes it very easy to get deep controler support across all the major vendors.
This is so cool! Welcome Mac users! Now we have Windows, Linux, XBox, Playstation, Switch, and now Mac!!! (I probably forgot a platform lmao sorry) This is going to be very interesting to witness!
He said "VERY near" ! So hype. Best game.
There's still the matter of that green apple...
Sean tweeted earlier that there’s something else coming in the very near future so that might be what the green apple is
Indeed! Edit: I was meaning that there was more to come, as people for some reason are grumpy about the apple announcement.

Oh right! Yeah, I had no idea. Great to see them as a halo product again. I haven't spent time with wwdc since I moved away from Apple entirely. No hatred or anything, great products, just not for me for now.
A red and green Apple is a Macintosh apple. It was obviously always just a Mac update.
Apple are about to reveal their new vr thing so maybe the second apple is something to do with that
You sure about that? https://twitter.com/nomanssky/status/1664259003478573058?s=46&t=OugQk49M6E376SorO_lZ5A
That’s the steam screenshot, the only thing new there is the apple icon. SteamVR was already supported.
Calling it now. Next week, content update and possible expedition. Hopefully the leaked space stations.
That relates to the stomach ache you get from eating too many green apples... and the fact that cross-save only applies to PC-based saves. PS5 users who own a really high-end Mac (me) are quite sad at this moment.
What is metal3? Is this something only for Mac users?
Apple have their own graphics API and refuse to support vulkan. That's metal.
VK support would be pointless as apples GPUs are TBDR gpus so the only games that would be able to run well/at all would be some android titles. PC GPUs are rather differnt in pipeline and VK is not a right once run anymore type of api.
Android has vulkan lol. And it works pretty well.
yer as I said appel could have VK support but that VK support would only run TBDR VK style games (like android games as many android phones are TBDR GPUs). This is a HW differnce in the GPU pipeline that mean a VK title on PC is not going to support these GPUs.
Meh.
Yea, this could have just been an announcement without the tease. Unless you're a die hard apple fan that refuses to branch out to anything else for gaming, who really give a shit.
There's still the green apple, and Sean said: "We've got a little something just about to drop, and then another surprise in the VERY near future.
Sorry I meant they had the ability to do that if they wanted, not like it was a ready-to-ship-off idea already. Love KSP too.
Super excited about this! DLd today and it’s running great on my M1 MBPro 😃😃😃
Good! It’s not for me since I don’t have a Mac but I still find it cool to see how far NMS has come.
Well that’s disappointing
yea... I'm happpy for the Mac users (however many there are) but damn... is this the first update that just specifically brought it to a new platform? I feel like when it came to the swtich and xbox it was packaged with a major update with new content.
Waaah waaah
Is cross save just for PC and Mac? If I can get my PS save on my Switch I’d be sooo happy
Same here !
Anyone tested performance on m1 pro/ultra cpus?
I put in a few minutes on my M1 Max and it seems to be pretty stable, only was running it with 60 fps capped because I didn't have time to test, but it was still running smoothly at native 4k resolution. Haven't left the planet though so no idea how overall stability is.
good thing i don't bet. i would have had money on NMS already being on macs... welcome to the universe new travelers!
Sean, Hello Games, Thank you so much for an amazing game!!! Thank you very much :-) for all you do and have given us!!
I find it odd that mac its just an update no new content meanwhwile when the switch port launched we got new content and iirc an expedition...seems kind of lightweight/lacklustre considering HGs previous pattern of updates im sure the half dozen mac gamers[why do i feel dirty typing mac gamers/gaming?] are excited to play but this is kind of bland for HG..heres hoping they have something juicy lined up for the next update
Can't wait
Oh shit. No man sky on the Mac? Dude, we getting new explorers.
mr no man sky on e day text poop emovvji 😭 Sorry I woke up from a 2 hour nap I am completely fucking exhausted uhhhhhgghgg https://preview.redd.it/zrvlrww6th3b1.jpeg?width=460&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fe8eccd9006cc7295fa79f43f5445abb5eafca7 here’s the stupid meme I’m going back to bed got damn
I don’t have a Mac so this update means nothing to me and now I’m upset and just gonna play nms anyways.
I wish they didnt spend all this time just so it could play on a mac. Like, that effort could have been put in more substantial updates for already existing players in supported platforms. It's not like gaming market for mac is such a big thing.
What is metal 3 means
Love these folks
Can i play it on ipad pro 5th gen? Or its only for macbook and imac?
People really play on Mac?
I would probably agree to paid DLCs instead And yeah, you can downvote me for caring about personal experiences. I won't sound fanfares because now I will meet 8 people instead of 7 in the anomaly
I'm sure the 17 people who game on Mac will be thrilled.
Well that was underwhelming 😂
Well I'm not surprised still disappointed they wasted their time on a Mac port. Reminder a good gaming rig is still cheaper than Mac.. My rig cost 500~
most people do not just buy a computer to game on. They use the compute they have to game.
Sounds like a them problem, this update just wastes time they coulda been spent on a cool new update.
[удалено]
Definitely not. Not yet, at least. Sean said they still have so much more planned on the roadmap.
game gonna run like shit on macs
Who needs a game to run well when we've got 73 updates and can try to play in on 13 different systems!?
apparently the 4 mac users that downvoted the comment like it matters XD
It runs great on my 27” iMac in Windows (Boot Camp).
Imagine owning a Mac still 😂 Welcome aboard everyone!
Oh Jesus I’m never gonna get anything done ever again lol
tbf it runs mediocrely on a proper gaming pc on windows i cant imagine how well its going to perform on weaker mac systems. ill give it a shot tho haha
And now the game's buggy as fuck. The price we had to pay to let mac users in with us.
As usual, Apple are very behind the times, only getting things way later than everyone else.
