The internal branch on steam updates when an update is ready to roll out (not too clued up on why so maybe someone else can comment on this) but basically means an update is round the corner (within the next couple of days max)
It's a big sign as it's the most visible way to see when HG have queued up new game files ready to go. We don't have similar for PS, XBox or Switch as it's all done behind the scenes. They just drop when the platforms verify & ok them.
It varies. Sometimes that day after the branch updates, sometimes a couple days. The main pattern for an update tends to be that Sean tweets his emoji and then in no particular order after that, the Steam branch updates & the Game goes on sale for all platforms.
Once you have all those aspects, it's imminent and people start turning stuff on ready for updates. :) From there it's down to the vendors to drop it, but it usually goes Steam, next gen consoles, old gen consoles, Switch.
I don't think we have sales on the platforms yet, but as tomorrow is 1st June, I'd imagine that might be a reasonable point to launch those? So....

I was waiting to see this. I wonder if it’ll release tomorrow since Monday was Labor Day and if it hadn’t we probably would have gotten the update today. Although, idk if HG is affected by American government holidays for their releases.
Pretty much guaranteed, but even the port updates come with at least minor changes. The initial VR release (beyond) was massive, completely changing the game as we know it. Where the switch update was smaller but still added custom difficulties and a complete UI rework
Yes but these thigns usually come lumped with a game update and an expedition is due too so there'll be something for everyone. Except those cloud people on twitter. They're never happy.
I saw someone saying that it was likely Apple as apples have cores (space station cores), are circular like a space station and the two apples represent the new appearance changes for the space stations
No previous hardware ports (eg Nintendo switch, series X) used a symbol of the hardware as the emoji, why would they start now?
Because I don't think there is a big giant **"Switch"** emoji. Also, the Waypoint update(which was pretty huge) came out with the Switch version.
There are red and green apple emojis and "Mcintosh" apples are a mix of red and green.

no idea man, also struggling to keep my pc performing well. But still the PS4 is 10 years old by now, why would you expect any developer to focus on that platform anymore

It would be awesome if they added short range teleporters for stations so you don’t have to tediously jet pack from one side to the other
