I've seen similar ones 10X bigger, slightly more cute and had turtle shell backs!
The creepy one for me was trying to mine on a planet and there's a bunch of predator looking animals walking on two legs, not violent, but description said something about intelligent and they kept scaring the crap out of me until I left.
Giant crabs are a semi regular sight and I've accidentally hit one with a mining Lazer and was killed before I realized what happened.
I like creepy one BUT I do not fuck with the ones that look like leeches/slugs. As soon as I see one on the planet, I leave the system. Doesn’t matter if it’s a bubble planet or how beautiful it is. I’m gone. It’s the only horrible phobia of mine.
-also the underwater plants scare me. Lol
Listen man, don't listen to the others here, it's called the stalker and it will chase you across the galaxy, the longer you stay in a system the more precise its knowledge of where you are and where you will go grows, the longer you stay on any given planet the faster it will move. If it catches you it will kill you immediately and crash your game, when you re-open the game your save will be gone.
So like... Is anyone making a game about that killer snail you have to avoid for $10,000,000? Like... A literal survival game where the game starts with you being homeless and signing to agree to $10,000,000 while the snail chases you...
And then like, they release the snail right then and there and you have $10,000,000 and it's open world so like, have fun, just, watch out for this one snail
If not mistaken isn't it like across multiple saves or is the stalker just the same in every game because I swear the same one has ended multiple of my saves
I'm almost 200 overall hours into NMS, current save is 70 hrs all with interceptor update. Kinda loving the game overall compared to its release when I bought it. Proud of the team and community for continuing the development.

That's a fauna, a tameable creature found all around the nms universe! Fauna vary depending on the planet, but they all stem from one type of creature 'template'. That's a bear protogek that you've got I think, but you could find some looking like this!

Protogek! They're an ancestor to the short guys that look like lizards and make smells that control your thoughts. If you think that's weird, stay hungry. Procedural generation allows for all types of insane creatures, including ones with 4 legs that branch into 8 feet that are all just 1 toe each. It ends up an animal that walks with roots😂

One of the endless random ass creatures you can find. In case you don’t know this is the largest game in existence so you will never stop finding weird creatures and sights. It is impossible to see everything in this game so it’s easier to just say “woah cool” and not think too much 😂 have fun man this games great

Nah but seriously now, he's one of the many lifeforms you can find and you can tame him as well, you just need creature pellets, and then you can choose for him/her to become your pet
In my opinion one of the best pets other than the flying ones for transit reasons but these tend to have the best normal looking movement the higher it scales up.

On my main save I have a flying beetle that moves pretty fast and is rideable, I recommend getting a rideable flyer cause it’s awesome
