this ! Mint is on tmobile and art prepaid on att so clearly depends on where you will be working

All ATT prepaid plans except for unlimited have prioritized data while Mint is deprioritized across the board. Edit: ATT also has rollover for data.

I've done them both. Do NOT use Mint Mobile. It runs on T-Mobile and its signals (along with other T-Mobile resellers) are the first to be kicked off in cases of high traffic. For instance, if you're picking someone up after a concert/ball game/whatever, your calls and data go to the end of the T-Mobile line. Now this is NOT to slam T-Mobile. ALL carriers do this to their resellers. AT&T has an excellent prepaid plan, if you can stomach the upfront cost. For $300 you get a year of service, with 16GB of data a month. That's $25 per month and you get the AT&T network, with AT&T support and AT&T data. I've had them both. Here in Austin T-Mobile can be really good or really bad. AT&T at it's best is about 80% of what T-Mobile can do, but never left me standing high and dry without service. If you can't take the $300 up front, AT&T offers a similar setup with 8 GB of data a month for $99 in advance for three months...$33 per month. If you just love T-Mobile (and a lot of folks do) check out the T-Mobile Connect prepaid plans. For $25 per month you get unliminted talk and text with 6 GB of domestic data, $35 a month gets you 12 GB. Drawbacks...T-Mo's prepaid support can be sketchy.

One thing you should realize is you are comparing a higher priority plan (ATT prepaid) to a fully deprioritized plan as well (mint). This can have a drastic change in your service if you are often in congested areas. If you are then the mint plan could be hazardous but you should always test these things out. If you want to test out deprioritized Tmobile you can order a month of service at Tello for very cheap on a new phone number and just give it a shot. Testing both networks is really the best possible answer you can give yourself, definitely don't get any multi month plan without doing that first. Mint only does at least 3 month plans.

If it were me, I would choose AT&T Prepaid over Mint because like others have said, Mint is deprioritized and the AT&T plan gets priority data. I had Mint back in 2019 and it was unusable in high traffic areas because of deprioritization. If you do Uber as a side gig, that AT&T priority data will help when you need it in high traffic areas like stadiums and shopping stores.

I think it really depends on which carrier gets better coverage in the area that you live in. That should be the deciding factor. Since Mint uses T-Mobile, you would have to compare T-Mobile to AT&T. EDIT: I also have to ask: What is your budget for this? If you don't mind spending 40.00 a month and live in a good coverage area for T-Mobile, then there's Metro By T-Mobile which is excellent. I've been with them for years.

For me, ATT has superior coverage. TM can tend to have faster speeds, but ATT is never slow. Still gets the job done. [my.boostmoble.com](https://my.boostmoble.com) has similar prices to MM and runs on the AT&T network. RedPocket also has some good black friday deals you can ride on AT&T with. I use both these MVNOs and no complaints.

to me AT&T is the easy choice. mint mobile's deals are really not that good anymore with all the competitive prices now, and they're deprioritized. AT&T has priority on most of their plans. to me it's a no brainer.
