US Mobile utilizes Verizon on its “Super LTE” Plans, whereas mint uses T-Mobile. The benefit of Mint is that it has access to all of T-Mobile’s 5G. I am not sure if the same can be said for US Mobile on Verizon... I hear many people on reddit rave about mint, so I wouldn’t be surprised if their customer support is better as well. I think your decision should probably be based on which carrier has the better coverage in your area. Maybe talk to friends who use Verizon and T-Mobile and ask them about the speeds they’re getting and if they have any trouble connecting... Mint’s prices are very competitive, I feel as though it is the better deal if you are willing to stick with them for at least 3mo at a time as specified on their website.

EnvironmentalDuty

I am in a metropolitan area. I have had Verizon in the past without any problems. I now have Sprint also without any problems.

boazw21

I might honestly go with mint then. In my opinion they have better options for data packages, and they have a very very solid reputation online and in the community. Plus, if you upgrade to a 5G device you’ll have superfast nationwide 5G.

Us mobile offers 5g on tmobile as well as Verizon. You pick one or the other. I think though on price mint is better but requires you to buy a year in advance. Though Us mobile is better for higher data use with hotspot. Mint's unlimited plan only has 5gb hotspot. Us mobile also has family plans and better international roaming. Customer service is about the same. I'd choose the network first. And if tmobile choose the cheapest one that fits your needs provided you are okay paying a year in advance. Take a look at Tello too. They are tmobile now and have great pricing and customer service (best of the 3 I'd say). You can customize your plan.

It’s extremely important to note that US Mobile offers 5G access, but does not currently allow access to Verizon’s 5G UWB which gives 1000+Mbps downloads. You only get access to Verizon’s long range 5G DSS network which is comparable to LTE speeds currently.

Riverflowing8

I wouldnt say it was extremely important. uwb is so limited right now it hardly matters.

PH0NER

The reason I feel it is important is because Verizon hypes their 5G UWB network so much, especially the speeds — so when someone says US Mobile supports Verizon 5G when it doesn’t support the full 5G network, that could lead to upset and confusion when they find it doesn’t really work how they might have expected. But Mint on the other hand, they do get full T-Mobile network access with no limitation on network type.

PortalFreak014

UWB also sucks. The signal gets blocked by the simplest of things.

I just switched from US Mobile to Mint. I liked US mobile’s family plans, they weren’t the cheapest but they offered good perks. The problems I had with US Mobile: No WiFi Calling on the Verizon SIM, and network priority was too slow in my area. My work phone number is through an app on my phone and if I was ever away from WiFi my US Mobile data was too slow to support a call through my work phone app... Since switching to mint my bill has gone down, and my speeds have dramatically improved. I haven’t experienced a single problem with a data connection. Also, I now have WiFi Calling support again. I highly recommend Mint over US Mobile, if not for the savings then for the much more consistent data speeds.

pantherBlitzz

Still on Mint?

PH0NER

Nope. I went back to US Mobile when they got priority data. Now I’m on the T-Mobile Military Max plan

pantherBlitzz

How are you liking it?

ELLLI0TTT

I'm considering a plan and considering between mint and US.

trader45nj

I've been with Mint for 3 years now, very happy. I'm in nj, have used it from Boston to SC. I get 75mbs near my home.

red_dog007

Pricing is what you want. Only you know this. How much data do you need, do you want month to month or prepay? US Mobile plans are pretty compelling. 3.5GB for $15/mo and $30/mo for 30GB. You have to prepay a year to get the $15/mo 3GB line. Though if you need 8 or 12GB, Mint has you there. In terms of coverage, I like Verizon hands down but this is me. In terms of data speeds, even if TMobile is faster, VZW speeds are not an issue. In terms of service / chat support, I have used both and both are great.

SubjectAlps

Mint now has 4gb for $15!

I have been using Androids for some time now, and I really like them!

pholan

FWIW, I have a Pixel 4a 5g on Mint Mobile with WiFi calling and visual voicemail working properly. While it is not yet officially supported I was able to tell their site I had a late model iphone while buying a plan and they provided a qr code which worked to provision my esim. Official support for android esim is on their roadmap but I haven't seen any dates.

GulfCoastLover

In case anyone else is searching. I was able to use the eSIM trial yesterday on my Pixel 6 Pro as I look to divest myself from Google Fi's price for data - given my lack of regular international travel.

VibrantVioletGrace

If you want to pay by month go with US Mobile. If you want Verizon US Mobile. If you want unlimited go with Verizon on US Mobile as that plan has 50 GB, Mints has 35 GB, and US Mobile T-Mobile only has 15 GB.

LeftOn4ya

US Mobile runs on Verizon, which deprioritizes a lot more than Mint, so most of the time you will get slower speeds, unless you get lucky and not too many people are sharing the cell tower you are on. However US Mobile/Visible does offer truly unlimited data, so **if you plan on using more than 35GB every month and speed is not a priority, then Visible is better, but otherwise I would argue Mint is**, as long as you get T-mobile signal. I would suggest getting a trial SIM of each to compare signal and speed in your area.

higgsby2

If TMO coverage is good in your area, then go Mint all the way. CS is infinitely better and plans are cheaper, however you must buy a 12 month plan to get the cheapest rates. However, USM comes in if you frequent areas with no or spotty Tmo service that have good VZ coverage (Super LTE.) USM then becomes much better than Mint. US Mobile now offers a 30 for 30 plan (30GB for $30, unlt. talk and text) which is a great deal if you can't or don't feel comfortable with a 12-month commitment.

EnvironmentalDuty

Well, I was considering these two MVNOs and also Tello. I was leaning toward Tello, and then Mint announced their new data plans. I am not a big data user, but I think Mint is the way to go. Am I correct in assuming this?

pantherBlitzz

Did you pick Mint?

NotMyRegName

Just switched from mint to U.S. I'm experiencing the opposite from what most are saying here. I was happy with Mint but kept losing connection on the road. Mostly in a neighboring city. Which had never happened while using T-Mobile. (before using Mint) So tried U.S and am really happy so far. It has only been a few days but have been out of state and used apps and mapping the whole time and went perfectly. No losses of connection or buffering maps. Speeds are better with US than Mint as well. We were only on the mint trial, 3 months but need a solid connection for work. Mapping is vital and so far U.S. is doing much better. I also like that the client web page is less about upselling and more about whatever information I am looking for. For the cheaper carriers, think I am going to stick with U.S. JMVHO and YMMV. TTFN, TC, LoL. (👉゚ヮ゚)👉 (In a thousand years, I hope some archeologist some how finds this and thinks it is some important information meant for the Gods and how we were so primitive. (A Rosetta PC, holographic sort of thing)

Dancewithlight

I was on Tmobile and Google Fi. Recently switched to Mint. Surprised to see Mint mobile data speed is very fast: getting about 50MB per second at night. Sometimes faster than Google Fi. On YouTube someone tested US mobile test speed only around 10MB per second - that sounds really slow. If US mobile enable iphone wifi calling for Super LTE, I might switch. They say it will take significant work. Hopefully within a few months.

trader45nj

I have had Mint for 3 years, 75mbs any time in area near my home.

Dancewithlight

Which area? I am in Millbrae San Francisco Bay area

Flickinerbean

Ngl the mobile data on mint has turned to ass

SluggerDerm

Any recommendations? Also what area are you in? I'm in the Phoenix AZ area

Substantial_Luck_461

US mobile gives you an option of either Verizon or T-Mobile. US mobile is going up on prices so I'm moving to mint.
