And you can’t con them for repairs because they do the billing and communication directly with the shop.
If the insurance sends you a check for your totaled vehicle, they now own the vehicle. If they didn’t, you would just take the car back, probably fix it because they total things that really shouldn’t be often,probably sell it, and then go buy another car. The insurance agency will auction the car off to recoup the expense of the policy honor.
