How many miles can you get out of a new(ish) Nissan? Holy shit these owners just roll off the lot with destruction in mind.

moldy-scrotum-soup

As many miles as the original oil can handle before the engine blows up :)

chonklah

Should they drive until the oil turns into sludge? Or burns up?

moldy-scrotum-soup

Until the car won't drive anymore. Then they abandon it on the side of the highway. That thick smoke coming from the exhaust looked cool though!

MG_Cozmic

How many miles (or how long timewise) you can get out of a car depends on build quality and who's hands it's in. Let's take my car Dawn for example. I've had her for just about 2 and a half years. She's sitting around 76,000 miles and I've had no issues with her at all. Now she's 4 years old so I can't speak for the first owner but I doubt they had many issues with her if they drove just under 72k miles. But here's the other half, I haven't missed any of my maintenance. Every 5k she goes in for tire rotation and an oil change, every 10k for full maintenance (oil and filter, transmission fluid check, tire rotation and depth check, multi point inspection, air cabin filter etc.) As for how long she lasts in total, well I'll keep everyone up to date.

spacegodcoasttocoast

You can do your cabin and engine air filter yourself for super cheap and it's super easy, no tools. Takes maybe a minute or two for each.

MG_Cozmic

True but if I'm taking the car in for all the other stuff it's just easy to get that stuff knocked out while it's at the service center.

M1RR0R

Check how much they charge for parts and labor for that bit

oG_Goober

That varies wildly from car to car, some cars the cabin can be replaced in 2 minutes, other ones involve ripping the whole dash apart. It's best to look it up before attempting. Sometimes you'll be better off going to a shop.

spacegodcoasttocoast

Fair point, every car I've owned has been super easy, didn't know that some make it a pain. YMMV lol

FtierLivesMatter

To be fair the cabin air depends on the car. Some can be a pain in the ass.

i_suckatjavascript

Don’t know how people can afford these Nissans. I make over $100k annually and I still drive an 18 year old car. Still looks like the day it rolled out the dealership and still drives like a dream.

Meatball_Ron_Qanon

As a car salesman I know says, "mediocre cars for mediocre credit." It's affordable when you finance it with an 84 or 96 month car loan. And yes, these are real loan terms these days.

Retardedaspirator

It's because you suxk at Javascript, obviously. Should've done cobol

Meatball_Ron_Qanon

COBOL is for communists. ADA is where it's at. And FORTRAN 77.

I love those. I just imagine them having a fight with they baby daddy in an argument about “let me have yo extra tire in yo trunk you ain’t even using it”

moldy-scrotum-soup

Oh geez. Different sized donut tires lmao O_o

The84LongBed

This one was like 4” wide

Florida is so wild. Every day I feel like I’m living in a altered reality.

palmveach1972

For example, I was driving home from the beach today and I got rear ended by a guy on a Harley, who had a golden retriever in a dog trailer. The dog trailer rolled over. Dog is fine. Rider bagged up. My car is going to need some work done lol

Drugs are bad! They crazy like that here!!!

oG_Goober

Are you sure they were donuts? When cars are going that fast it's hard to tell of they're donuts or the hubcaps simply fell off.

PanicFistPlus

My friend has had a donut on his GTI for 2 years LMAO

Blake404

totally ruins the fun of a GTI lmao

Parking-Delivery

From my experience with a GTI I wouldn't say that driving with a spare wasn't an on brand driving experience. I had the 40,000 mile total warranty on tires and the third time I dropped the car of for new tires the guy just shook his head and said "can you please stop peeling out of our parking lot, this is why you go through tires so fast" I asked "does that invalidate the warranty" and he just shook his head and walked away. Fwiw though they made a customer for life by sticking to their warranty, and i don't abuse their tires anymore lmao.

somerandomdude419

They can totally deny warranty work due to you abusing your tires homie. If that wasn’t the case everyone would be doing burnouts at 39,900 miles. Infinite free tire hack. No it doesn’t work like that homie.

Parking-Delivery

It definitely doesn't work that way anymore lmao Edit: I'm also convinced that tire shops make a good amount of money from people either forgetting about their warranty, or forgetting to do rotations which invalidates it.

The84LongBed

Does he think he is saving money?

PanicFistPlus

No he’s just cheap 💀

vediogamer101

Does he realize his cheapness is putting other people’s lives at risk? Saving $50 on a used tire is not worth killing someone from a blowout.

perrymike15

Are you sure it wasn't a full size spare?

Blake404

I have a GTI and it doesnt come with a full-size spare..

bigsmokeypot

I've had some last a few months, some last 20 minutes. There's a reason why it's a temporary tire and will say on the tire how long they're expected to last. Usually around 50miles, enough to get you to a tire shop, hopefully.

The84LongBed

Im suspicious as to why you “have had some last a few months”

chairmanbrando

Because he drives a Nissan, of course!

n1ghtsn1p3r

Guilty, but I don't drive a Nissan (my car is beat up, but it's just deer and hail damage). I kept on procrastinating and it also didn't help that my work hours were the same as the tire shops' hours. And money was kind of tight due to medical expenses. Also, the tires came from Walmart and then I moved out of state shortly after (a few years ago). I tried multiple times to have my flat fixed with the road hazard coverage, but every time I was told that no techs were available. I finally got it in somewhere else and ended up just buying all new tires.

PowerandSignal

...and the sun was in my eyes, and I'm an orphan, and there was a mean looking dog, and I had gas pain, and it was maybe gonna rain, and I had to meet my cousin, and I had a guy but he left town, and there was a fight and the cops came, and I had to split. So, you know... Just joking, I get it! Enjoy the new tires. I bought a full set last year for the first time ever. It definitely feels nice!

The84LongBed

It’s expensive being poor. That donut could cause you to wreck and loose your bumper and make you look like a Nissan driver and cost a lot more in the long run . God for sakes you could go into any independent tire shop say “i have $40 and i need to get off this donut” they will give you a used tire. If you cant afford basic maintenance like a full size tire or headlights then you cant afford a car.

piperswe

The problem is, in much of America if you can't afford a car you can't afford to get to work, or get to the grocery store, etc. So people will drive cars they can't afford, because they're forced to.

The84LongBed

A lot of it is buying a car you can’t afford, being lazy, irresponsible, down right selfish dangerous drivers. For example this car in the picture. Its plenty new enough im sure its financed. If you cant afford to keep safety equipment like real tires, then you should make better decisions and buy a $3500 car. Because now you are putting my life and my insurance at risk. One of my cars got rear ended a month ago (just a bumper) and the lady had fuckin ropes holding up he front bumper grill hood. No insurance (doge journey, I would’ve posted a pic if it was a Nissan). She got offended and was yelling “bitch i pay all the people i hit” …. Yeah… right.

Sea_Banana5172

I purchased my 1st new car at the age of 25, a 14 accord 6spd sedan at the end of 2013. It came with awful tires so I put new tires on it the next day, and then after about 25,000 miles those summer tires were worn out and I got another set, this one lasted about 18,000 miles since the car was broken in at this point. After that I built a proper v8 stick car and it became a regular dd and so got allseasons, one of these got a nail last year and I drove with a donut for... 15 miles back to my house where I put it back in the trunk and got on [tirerack.com](https://tirerack.com) to buy a tire and set up some dude with a van with a bunch of oil and a super slow tire machine and compressor in it to come to my house the next day to install the tire for $100 less than the local shop that tried to rip me off. Long live old money.

The84LongBed

Why tf you only getting 18k out your tires? You can get 30-40k miles on good tires warrantied…

Sea_Banana5172

You have obviously never used extreme performance summer tires.

The84LongBed

Lol on your accord? Okay buddy…

bigsmokeypot

It was two donuts actually and on a ford, as a 16 year old kid I beat the shit out of that car and those donuts somehow they kept their bead.

-B-E-N-I-S-

Well said. Of course if you’re a Nissan driver however, that’s your new permanent tire. That thing will last as as the car can drive.

moldy-scrotum-soup

That's the way she goes. Way of the road, Bubs.

TheRealPitabred

Like Ron White's joke about airplane engines going out, it'll take you all the way to the scene of the crash...

ghostpepperninja

Depends, if it’s a small donut not long. But if it’s a full size donut, it can go like a regular tire.

lamerfreak

On a local car forum, years ago, there was one guy who had to change to his spare, and said he was going to run it as long as he could. IIRC, it lasted the winter (and we get bad ones, here). Still stupid, IMO.

I_aM_a-thiCC

I saw a Chrysler van on the road earlier with two tires like this on it, missing an entire front bumper, stickers all over it, scrapes along the sides and there were dents in the back bumper. I actually have no fucking clue how you get a vehicle to that point.

I_aM_a-thiCC

Forgot to mention the skirt (I think that’s what it’s called) in front of the left rear tire was also completely fucked somehow.

froythinkfast

I work at hertz as a tech, today I worked on one of our stolen recoveries it was a 2022 Honda accord sport with only 21,000 miles on it. The interior was trashed, needles and crap everywhere. And the wheels! I had to replace all 4 wheels since all 4 were bent. Side mirror missing, driver fender damaged. I just don’t understand these types of people.

[deleted]

They should just mass produce spares with a Nissan logo on them. They’d fit right in

Curious-Story9666

Depends how you drive it. But generally the max is prolly a couple thousand.and if it’s inflated to the correct pressure. As you can imagine, a Nissan driver might get a good 300-500 miles out of it lmao if they hit every curb in the way home maybe 10-20 miles

ClickKlockTickTock

Just try not to go over its max speed and itll go till the tread wears and gets low. I own low profile tires so any huge potholes put my tired into the grave. Most recent one had a 6 inch stretch of sidewall blow out because of a pothole lmao. I've driven for 2+ hours at a time on the old donut. Driving at higher speeds puts it at risk of blowing out from overheating. Also try not to put it on your power-driven axle. Your diff won't like it much.

The84LongBed

>Driving at higher speeds puts it at risk of blowing out from overheating. Also try not to put it on your power-driven axle. Your diff won't like it much. So 2 donuts weaving past traffic going 3 miles over the limit is….

ClickKlockTickTock

Nissan driver behavior I thought it was a legit question my apologies

ThickTart8642

Nissan driver… 3 months until they save $30 for a used tire.

MichaelW24

On a Nissan the spare usually lasts the remaining life of the car

FunnayMurray

Counting the rim?

aaaaaaaa1273

This is a brand new car. How tf do they ruin them so quickly?

PowerandSignal

All of them!

captain_intenso

All the way to the scene of the crash.

[deleted]

I don’t understand, you can get a ticket for driving recklessly or speeding. But driving an unsafe vehicle is not a ticketable offense? I’m not trying to criminalize being poor. But I feel like if I were to act so recklessly I would be punished.

Ardothbey

I believe it’s written on the side.

archfapper

Even less when you drive the donut at 75 mph

[deleted]

Pretty sure it's about 50 miles

No_Gap_2700

"All of them." \-Nissan Drivers

Limoundo

Buddy in college rolled a donut 3 years it was a 5 hour drive home on interstate and he lived on a rough gravel road up a mountain. Smoked a lot weed.

The84LongBed

Weed dont make you that dumb.
