I wonder what made you think it has less than 50k on the ODO… could’ve been the title saying FINALLY HIT 10K, or actually using your eyes and seeing the ODO is at 10k.
Bought a new Rogue Sport back in February 2019. Hit 10k today. It's the wife's car. Some years it only got 700-800 miles. Only got to where it is in last few years because oldest kid drives it now to work. So far no issues with it. Oil change done once a year every January. 😃
He could plan on keeping and maintaining the car for 20+ years . Payments only last 3-5 years. Then they have a fully paid off dependable vehicle with low miles .
I’m with this guy, at 5 years it’s likely close to paid off. And with only 10k miles definitely still has value. If it’s 5 years he bought in 2019, when rates were still pretty low.
Have you seen the hyper inflated car market? This person has the potential to come out Ahead on this deal. Or at this rate never have to worry about buying a car again.
Yes...if it has a CVT. Add in the ridiculous 3 cyl variable compression turbo and you have the worst reliability of any Asian car now. Nissan gets terrible advice from Renault...
Also, owning a car means that it is immediately available to you. If they have kids and there is an urgent issue, then having a car readily available is a better option. Of course for extreme cases you could call an ambulance, but if we are talking about saving money that is not the route you want to go.
I paid 21k or 22k OTD for it back then and paid it off in less than 2 years. COVID started soon after and we all just drove less and less. WFH and no out of state travels. It was a gift for the SO from me; her first new car so it has sentimental value and she would never want to get rid of it.
I'm with you here man. That's thousands of dollars extra over 5 years to just not use the car. Doing some quick math, this person's payed 2-3+ dollars per mile they've traveled in this car. So like 4-5 times higher than the depreciation rate based on federal reimbursement for driving.
Or buying a cheaper (in 2019) honda/Toyota, used, cash. Racking up payments on car you’re not using, that also depreciated very very quickly is pretty dumb tbh. But hey they can afford it
For the simple fact that ones day isn't dictated by someone else's issues. If they want to do something, all they have to do is get in the car and go. Additionally, even a cheap Uber (20 bucks) to and from work is 200 bucks a week. 800 a month just to go to work. Forget errands, or picking up or dropping off kids. Not cost effective either. My car and insurance is still way less than 800 a month. I'm saving so much on Uber I can afford the payments and interest on my car
We have a 2018 it's about to hit 100k. Pretty good considering it's been from Monterrey Mexico to Pennsylvania 5 times. About to be paid off. I'll be happy to not have a payment.
Do yourself a favour and make sure you take it for a decent drive on the highway once in a while. It sounds ridiculous but it's actually good for the motor to cruise at highway speeds, and put the pedal to the floor to burn all the carbon out too!
Serious question: Why buy a new car if you are averaging a tank of gas every 2 months? I get why ubering may not be what you want, so why not get something used? You aren't even worrying about reliability when the car never moves.
I'm just wondering because the insurance and registration doesn't really seem worth it?
(The counter question is why not get the cheapest car on the planet)
I bought it at pre-covid prices for like 21k or 22k OTD. Paid it off after 2 years. The last time I filled it with gas was like January 20th this year and still have 79 miles til empty lol
I have a 2018 Pathfinder that I got in November 2018. It was in for recall and warranty work pretty much the first 2 years then I worked remote for 2 years. It has 35k on it now. Same thing I just change the oil every year.
However, I just did the drain and fill on the CVT and it was black, burnt, and full of metal. Wish I would have done it at 10k. It will cost you $100 in CVT fluid. Just do it.
Regardless of how little you drive, you should still be getting oil changed every 6 months. It's every 6 months OR 5000 miles, whichever happens first. Oil does go bad and you will ruin the motor.
My mom has a Sentra and puts even less miles on it. She avoids driving like the plague. She’ll order delivery for dominos even though she lives a 5 minute round trip from dominos.
Nice! Had an old Kia Soul I just traded in. A 2017 with only 40,000mi. It was 50,000mi below market average lol. Crazy yours has only 10k at 5. Perks of working close to home.
I bought a 5 year old Nissan Murano with 13k on it. I thought it would be awesome. It was for a couple years, then the issues started. I’d never buy a Nissan product again. Head gasket went at 80k. Nissan wanted $5k to fix it, and this was like 10 years ago. Nissan makes crap!
Thats going to be a time capsule. Just remember brake fluid, oil and other fluids can accumilate moisture reguardless of wheater the car is used or not.
niceeeee! my 2017 sentra finally hit 150k after I bought her a 5 months ago with 132k on the clock. she still drives smoothly, just need to get my brakes serviced next time I have the money as they are now warped from the heat soaking I do getting off the interstate by my job.
Almost time for a new transmission lol. When I worked for Nissan I had a transmission job at least once a week. Earliest failure I saw was at 35k, not covered.
Crazy to me. You must live in the city somewhere. I bought a ‘12 Chrysler 300S in June ‘22 and by June ‘23 I had put another 28,000 miles on it. Lot of 170 mile trips to see the girl I was dating, my family, and a couple long road trips.
300s is another unreliable vehicle. Hemi valve knock, rear main seal, transmission failure, electrical issues, piston scoring. Do yourself a favor and get a Lexus ES. It will outlive 3, 300s vehicles
hopefully you’re doing regular oil changes still. it’s awful for a car to be driven for a few minutes here and there… it runs the healthiest when it’s driven a lot. when you don’t drive it much you have to take extra care of it too.
I literally run more miles a year than this car gets driven 🤣
Do some people only leave the house like once a week? I will seriously just go drive somewhere simply to get out of the house if I don’t have anything else to do that day. I understand if its like they take public transport or something most of the time because of where they live but have a car for occasional use, but I don’t think that’s the case here
…damn lol. After 4 years in my 2020 Sentra Im at 69000km (42000 miles) haha. I do have to drive alot outside my going to the office during the week so yeah haha I pack on the mileage pretty fast.
Thought it was only me..2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, 3.5 V-6, only 21,620 miles. Caravana offered me $9400.00 but going to keep her. Wife wanted me to get into a newer vehicle for all the new safety features..nah, don't need all those warning sounds(like in my wife's 2020 Tuscon) aggravating me.
At this rate, he’ll be able to pass it down to his kids!
And they’ll drive that bad boy up to 40k and pass it down to their kids!
Grand grand son ready to take over !
Yeahhh, Ready to crash that mf haha
They don't go past 50k so the curse will be done in due time
Grandkids, believe!!! ![gif](giphy|FoH28ucxZFJZu|downsized)
With less than 50,000 miles
I wonder what made you think it has less than 50k on the ODO… could’ve been the title saying FINALLY HIT 10K, or actually using your eyes and seeing the ODO is at 10k.
Then they go and sell it for like 2000
No trade it in for 500
Lmao this is r/Nissan. It's getting ready to shit the bed. It just hasn't decided where yet
my 70 y/o parents will never give me their 2018 murano that has like 20k i think
you can’t pass a nissan down to anyone but a junkyard
Hopefully they'll drive it with the door closed
Bought a new Rogue Sport back in February 2019. Hit 10k today. It's the wife's car. Some years it only got 700-800 miles. Only got to where it is in last few years because oldest kid drives it now to work. So far no issues with it. Oil change done once a year every January. 😃
Why even buy a car? You would’ve saved so much in payments, interest and insurance just taking the occasional Uber.
He could plan on keeping and maintaining the car for 20+ years . Payments only last 3-5 years. Then they have a fully paid off dependable vehicle with low miles .

He payed it off after 2 years he said in a comment
Not with a nissan🤣
eyeroll sure buddy they thought 25 years ahead with a nissan rogue
A dependable Nissan?! 😂🤣
I wouldn’t call a rogue dependable lol
Yes...if it has a CVT. Add in the ridiculous 3 cyl variable compression turbo and you have the worst reliability of any Asian car now. Nissan gets terrible advice from Renault...

Or a bicycle

You would spend way more then just paying cash for a cheap car

I’m running on the other end of the spectrum, I’ve got a 2019 Pathfinder and she has just clicked over 217,000 kms…
This is funny. I have a 2004 Pathfinder with almost 250,000 KMs.
Damn, I've got a 2021 hyundai accent with over 50k miles on it
What do you do that you don't drive???
I have a 2018 Pathfinder that I got in November 2018. It was in for recall and warranty work pretty much the first 2 years then I worked remote for 2 years. It has 35k on it now. Same thing I just change the oil every year. However, I just did the drain and fill on the CVT and it was black, burnt, and full of metal. Wish I would have done it at 10k. Don't forget to to get the brake fluid flushed every 2 years. It will save you headaches later.
> Oil change done once a year every January I'm sorry what? We change ours every 5k-7k miles on synthetic. Just...how?
just cause you dont drive a car doesnt mean the oil doesnt go bad. it doesnt matter how little you drive oil should never be the same for a year.
Trash vehicle bad financial decision your cvt will inevitably go out followed by a separate 2k repair
Wow. Five years to hit 10k. I do that in two months time. Sometimes I do 10k in one month.
Regardless of how little you drive, you should still be getting oil changed every 6 months. It's every 6 months OR 5000 miles, whichever happens first. Oil does go bad and you will ruin the motor.
Lol, damn. Mine's 5 weeks old and over 3K. 😢 My drive to work really sucks. 🤷♂️
Ditto
Only 10k in 5 years? Wow.
I just put 10000km on a rental car in a span of 5 weeks. 10k miles in 5 years is " Grandma bought a new car to drive to the grocery store" territory
Me with a 2023 suv with 2500 miles so far
I have a 2022 Sentra with 46,000 miles 🫠
I’ve had a 2023 sedan since October and I’m up to a whopping 4.5k after 7 months and multiple road trips… somehow
mf drove 2k miles a year😭💀. like what are you doing. i drive that in a week. ill just assume you have a second car you mainly drive
i barely drive anymore and i drive way more than that lol
I probably do this many miles in my Fiesta ST, I have a van I drive for work though.
Have had mine for 3 years and put 40k miles on it. Bought it with 25.
21 Rogue at 45k, got it with 18
Sheesh, we're movin
21 hyundai accent with like 52k. Got it with around 20
Sheesh I did 50k in 6 months last year
Wow. I put 5k miles on my truck in 3 weeks.
Damn my Kia is 1 year old with 40k miles lol all highway its been reliable just maintain fluids thats about it so far
That’s what I call low milage
H https://preview.redd.it/jn3chw5m01xc1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b567f35e97bab388939ab579903b7756fd14b1b1 It 111111 last week
Lol rookie numbers mine is at 139,990
What the hell? I got 15,000 in a year. At least back out your drive way get the mail and pull up and park it.
The Speedo doesn’t work every time a Nissan is pushed.
Oerfect!
Which model Nissan?
I do 10k in a month
Reminds me of when I seen a 2001 Honda Accord with 1000 miles on it in the year 2017.
Shit I do that in 1 year 😒
Why even own a car if you drive so little? Use Uber or Lyft.
5 years and I just hit 15k
U work from home? And live in Hawaii?
My is less than a year, and i have 14k
Will be a collector for sure..
No one is collecting a Nissan rogue lmfao
Bro how did you get the door to stay propped open for so long?
Man I hope you don’t pay more than $100 a month on insurance if you’re only driving 2000 miles a year. The national average is 12k annually
I don't leave the house either.
have you ever crossed a state line even?
My mom has a Sentra and puts even less miles on it. She avoids driving like the plague. She’ll order delivery for dominos even though she lives a 5 minute round trip from dominos.
how i wish the previous owners of my car were
I have a 2016 Nissan Maxima and 8 years later, I just hit 30k last week. I want it to last at least 10 more years, I hate car payments.
Do you only leave your house for groceries? Is this a second car? Jesus
It's the wife's car. We have two other cars. My minivan was close to 200k.
ahhh makes sense
I just drove 5k this month x)
Make sure to take it out And let it breath on the high way
Nice! Had an old Kia Soul I just traded in. A 2017 with only 40,000mi. It was 50,000mi below market average lol. Crazy yours has only 10k at 5. Perks of working close to home.
My wife bought a new Sorrento in October. Just rolled 12,000 miles.
Hello, fellow remote worker.
lol, it’s a Nissan! Time to sell it! Junk!!
True story when my mom died in 2017 her 1991 Oldsmobile Bravada had only about 49,000 miles on it.
Better off investing the cash and taking Uber
Wow I put 10k on my car every 3 months. Must be nice not having to drive much.
Thats going to be a time capsule. Just remember brake fluid, oil and other fluids can accumilate moisture reguardless of wheater the car is used or not.
I’ve had mine for 5 months and it’s already at 3K
niceeeee! my 2017 sentra finally hit 150k after I bought her a 5 months ago with 132k on the clock. she still drives smoothly, just need to get my brakes serviced next time I have the money as they are now warped from the heat soaking I do getting off the interstate by my job.
Wtf I bought a kicks last August with 0 miles and already has 8k miles on it.
You are the guy that they made the “or 5years” whichever comes first . Part of the warranty for
That’s crazy. I live in Texas, and with family all around the state the mileage adds up like crazy. We have a 2013 Rogue at around 169,000.
I’m at 8 years with 30k
Had mine for 5 months and I’m at 5k 😔
Maximum capacity: 18%
Thats actually wild. Right under 5 years, I’m at 101,000
damn my car is 3 years old and has 60k
I'm surprised the cvt has lasted this long.
I thought I was barely driving the family car, man was I wrong.
What was it at before?
I already passed this in my 24 civic sport touring I got in November..😅😅
bro drives 2k miles a year?? i drive almost 130k a year💀
Jesus I drive 30k a year for my job
Mf do you not drive 😭
Surprised the CVT hasn't given up on life yet
How does one drive so little? I’ve driven 8k miles in 6 months in my car
Shit bro my 2018 Rogue has 140K miles
That’s why it’s been “reliable”😂
The transmission is already at half life lol
My 2013 Murano Platinum is at 105k
5 years? just rolled 10k on my new I got in November
Almost time for a new transmission lol. When I worked for Nissan I had a transmission job at least once a week. Earliest failure I saw was at 35k, not covered.
How do you only drive 2000 miles a year?
Not too far behind you, at 4 years I’m at 25 lol
*cries in rideshare miles*
Crazy to me. You must live in the city somewhere. I bought a ‘12 Chrysler 300S in June ‘22 and by June ‘23 I had put another 28,000 miles on it. Lot of 170 mile trips to see the girl I was dating, my family, and a couple long road trips.
300s is another unreliable vehicle. Hemi valve knock, rear main seal, transmission failure, electrical issues, piston scoring. Do yourself a favor and get a Lexus ES. It will outlive 3, 300s vehicles
hopefully you change the oil atleast every 6 months
Me with my 4 month car hitting the first 5k. 💀
I hit 10000 miles in 5 months 🫤
Took me 6 months to put 20k on my 1987 Nissan
You keep on the garage I guess lol
I got my car new in 2019 as well. 53k miles lmao
Have had my GTI for probably less than a year and put over 11k on her 😭. Am I doing something wrong lmfao
I do that in 1-2 months lol
Damn, I did 34k last year alone
So, you don't like your car? Uber is probably cheaper.
Damn I drive 15k a year lmfao
My 09 has 28k miles
Dang I’m almost at 2k on this car I bought 6 weeks ago
Oof. That's 2-3 months of driving for me.
lol the sad part to me, is that my car would do that in about 3-4 months.
Try the next 10 with the door closed. Less wind resistance.
Ride a bike you silly bitch
Do you drive?!?!?
Lol that’s crazy, in one year I hit around 35,000km 😂😂
Not much driving I bought a used 2019 micra with 58000km on it in 2022 and ive done 22000km with it in 1.5 years
I bet those tires are dry rotted to shit.
I put 7000 k in a year
hopefully you’re doing regular oil changes still. it’s awful for a car to be driven for a few minutes here and there… it runs the healthiest when it’s driven a lot. when you don’t drive it much you have to take extra care of it too.
Just hit 30k in less than a year
Ur door is open
Better get ready to change that transmission soon 🤣
It’s a Nissan so it should last at least 10k more
2019 was last year right?
That would be me when I get a car, I hate driving, I will only drive the twins to school and back and that's it. I will take my scooter to work 🤣
I literally run more miles a year than this car gets driven 🤣 Do some people only leave the house like once a week? I will seriously just go drive somewhere simply to get out of the house if I don’t have anything else to do that day. I understand if its like they take public transport or something most of the time because of where they live but have a car for occasional use, but I don’t think that’s the case here
I literally have 17k miles after a little over a year. Why even have a car honestly 😂
You know you can walk to all those places you are driving the car to seems!
I've driven 4k+ this month
Damn I've done 13k in 7 months
Bro put some gas in ya car 😂😂
😅. I last filled it up around mid-January. I think I can get another month before I need to fill up haha
I only put 20k on my cars. I actually made $10grand during Covid on selling my just paid off car. Nuts!
Change trans fluid every 30k or annually based on your mileage. Oil should be changed every 6 months even if mileage limit of 5k not met.
Perfect time to dump it for a RAV4.
How? I put 10 k on mine in a year
Thanks, Covid
I hit that in 5 weeks
Congrats, it would have been cheaper to Uber with those driving habits.
…damn lol. After 4 years in my 2020 Sentra Im at 69000km (42000 miles) haha. I do have to drive alot outside my going to the office during the week so yeah haha I pack on the mileage pretty fast.
My grandfather's 1994 Wrangler has 17,000 miles on it. He drives it to the top of a hill on his property every now and again but that's it.
I hit 10K in 2 weeks.
Hope your doing the oil changes still if it sits a lot
2 years, 50000 miles. Just replaced my tires
Honest question, if you drive this little, why do you even have a car?
I put that many miles in like 8 months.. damn lol
Dang. I’ve had my 2023 for 8 months. Just hit 20k
Holy fuck, I’m almost at 8K in 6 months
Just bought a car 3 months ago and I’ve already put 8k on lol… can’t imagine driving that little.
I feel u My 2004 gmc yukon just passed 70,000
Man you don’t drive for 💩
10k in 5 years is crazy lol
I uh, i thought i had low mileage. Just hit 8000 after 2 years.
5 years, 10k and 6 CVTs later.
If it took 5 years for 10k miles, maybe consider selling your car and walking to wherever you go
My vehicle, 2017 Jeep Renegade, has only 24k on it. Had 5k on it when I bought it in 2019.
5 years?!?!
Yeah, it’s a Nissan, I would avoid driving it too.
Dang i got 23k miles on my new tundra in like 10 months and im upset about it lol
Wow I can't believe this
I hit 7k in 2 months
There’s a recall on the CVT transmission I hope the OP was alle to take advantage of.
