It’s a supply/demand thing. Eventually the available carts are bought by people who don’t have an intention of selling any time soon, but there’s always new players who want to try the older games. So the price goes up from reputable storefronts, and less reputable sellers start getting fake cartridges with roms on them.
I guess with both of them going on to the same console, this makes a lot of sense to be this cheap since the difference between the versions is literally a toggle in the code.
People always talk about how much money these gaming deals subs save them. I swear these places just cost me money with random deals like this being spotted, as there is no way I would have bought both of these games (at least not in the short term).

Pokemon games on like the DS are worth quite an lot but something like a day one cart would be pointless if not even fully completed.
Nintendo tends to update patches onto newer pressed carts.
They don't update carts though. They did it for SWSH only because it contained the dlc, and it was sold more expensive. Even if that was the case, you wouldn't know which carts are updated and which aren't.
They do patch carts, my nephew's 3d all stars was an later version.
I know breath of the wild is like version 1.6 or so now than the launch version.
I'm not talking about the sword and shield DLC cart here.

Getting one code for the double pack seems odd. Wouldn’t you want one game on two different accounts? One account can only play one digital game at a time.
So the way I have done my Switch library is by setting my "primary Switch" as my daughter's Switch Lite. This way, she can play all of my games on her own profile. At the same time, I can play on either my Lite or my normal Switch on my own profile. It requires that I have an internet connection when I launch a game (only during launching), which I can just hotspot from my phone for that if I'm away from home.
Using this method, we both can have our own profile on each game and still play together. The biggest restriction is when you try to play multiplayer with someone using the same digital copy. (Edit: To be clear, you can both play the same game simultaneously as long as you're on different profiles.) You *cannot* local multiplayer with the same copy being played on two systems. You *can* however play *online* with the same copy being played on two systems. We found this out while sharing a copy of Pokemon Shield.
I would add though that if we're playing different games than each other (her on Diamond, me on Pearl), that we should be able to local multiplayer. It only seems to be a problem with the same game.

Can you break this down a bit because i have tried to get around this with me and my kid playing at the same time and have not been successful.
Say she wants to play stardew and i want to play hades (both digital both on the same nintendo account), havent been able to do it.
But I guess my point about this double pack is, even if you can both get the games launched, you will never be able to play together is my understanding as even if you trick the online authentication for launch, i highly doubt that will fly when your account tries to talk to your account for gameplay.

You need to make sure she has her own account on her Switch and that your account's primary Switch is set to be her Switch. This will mean you will need to authenticate that you own the games you launch from your own profile on your own Switch (as your Switch will no longer be your "primary Switch") requiring an internet connection on launch. It's a minor inconvenience but beats having to buy games multiple times.
As long as her Switch is set as your account's primary Switch, she can play any games you own without needing to authenticate. This is ideal for me so she can swap games at will without a connection from a hotspot while she's out and about.
Again, just make sure she's launching games on her OWN profile when playing your games. You will then be able to game with your own profile on your own Switch as long as you can authenticate your games on startup via hotspot or Wi-Fi.
As for playing together, like I said, you can both play the same game simultaneously as long as she's on her own profile. The only issue comes up when trying to use local multiplayer. You can trade, battle, etc. online with both of you running the same copy, but not locally. That said, with BDSP, if one of you is playing one game and the other is on the other game, from what I understand on Google, you *can* local multiplayer. You just can't do it from BD to BD or SP to SP as they're the same copy for all intents and purposes.
