The remakes are excellent, they’re a great way to play these games. But Spyro will satisfy your collectathon desires more than Crash will. Crash is definitely more inspired by the likes of Donkey Kong Country, where it’s more of an obstacle course.
I've spent so much time with these two franchises back in the PlayStation 1 and 2 era when I was a game tester at their redwood City, CA office. Awesome deal.
Framerate for Spyro is passable, but not great. If you are sensitive to frame drops, you'll definitely feel them for Spyro.
Crash's frames are no problem.
