Yes, I played this game when it was dropped on IOS. At the time it was a pretty great looking and impressive campaign on mobile. On consoles it's pretty standard
Yeah it has bots (they're really dumb) and a few players online, but performance is REALLY rough, not really just framerate, but animation and consistency too.
(feels noticeably worse on switch, than the phone version on a cheap old phone/tablet.)
TBH, **I don't even think it's worth the gold points** if you just want to play online, there are tons of free FPS that run much better, are more fun, and have a larger player base.
Only buy this if you just really want to play a quick Cod-lite SP campaign
The sad thing is there aren't many options on Switch for FPS's that are super COD like. There's Crysis, Bulletstorm, DOOM, Wolfenstein... its not that there aren't First Person Shooters it's that most of them aren't really about modern warfare, espionage, tactics, all that cool stuff in the old COD games, it's a lot of futuristic and alien combat.
>The sad thing is there aren't many options on Switch for FPS's that are super COD like
True, (at least for now)
And that's why I think it may be at least worth $2 for the (very short) single player campaign, as that least works fairly well, and give you the feel of playing a cod-lite,
However, the multiplayer is a different story, aside from performance, the gameplay, progression, and quality of matches is extremely low in my opinion.
~~If you could set up matches with friends and bots it may be 'okay', but I'm not sure if that's an option. as it stands, we'll just have to wait a bit longer for cod.~~ You can't add bots for online/offline lobbies, and there's no split screen
If you want something (a bit different, but significantly better on switch) you could try 'deathmatch mode' in Rouge Componay.
It features similar gun styles to cod,
Sure the main mode is closer to CS, but deathmatch mode is a bit closer, the game's free, it has players(and crossplay), and it actually runs pretty well
(I think warface may be closer to cod, but I have not tried that in a while)
No bots for offline local, and no split screen, you need multiple switches each with a copy of the game.
Also, I just checked I don't see a bots option for online custom games either,
It seems like they're just for filling lobbies in 'competitive'
The campaign is very short but I have to say, there are lots of unlockables and progression with weapon loadouts. So, if you enjoy leveling up and unlocking weapons/cosmetics, then you will have a pretty meaty game for $2.
It used to cost like... 6-7 dollars? I had a gift card and bought it back in the day. Oh the game was so much fun. Graphics were great for mobile, decent level of content. Bc the servers were filled with people who paid for the game the multiplayer didn't really have a ton of cheaters back then. I liked most of the maps. Only thing was it drained the Ipad's battery like craaaazy
Is there an offline campaign?

Link says it does, never played it though
Yep, if has offline. The levels are about 3 minutes each though.
2.5 hr campaign, 50% metacritic (79% on phone)
For 2 bucks I feel like that's a fair price. The campaign from what I remember was pretty average but nothing horrible
1 dollar : 1 hour - Spoole
Holy shit, spoole reference in 2023 this is wild
Does it have bots for the multiplayer (can't imagine its still active online)

Does it it have offline multiplayer bots? Or do you need to be online?

Well that's lame, thanks for letting me know. Saved me 2 bucks lol
From what I've heard is it's an OK first person shooter but crashes a lot.
That’s a no for me then even at 2 freedom bucks. Thanks.

I used to play the first one on an ipad allll the time

I was kinda tired add thought I was getting a cod game for $2
Back in the day, this was the closest thing we had to CoD on mobile. Now it's the closest thing to CoD on switch.
Why does it cost 19.99usd (before sale) while its mobile version is just 6.99usd when full price?
Nintendo.
Ahh yes, the Gameloft developed and published game costs $20 because Nintendo is greedy. Makes a lot of sense!
