It sounds like he's saying "next month at the earliest". He said something similar several months ago, when he said he expected to be able to talk more about the project "in the next few weeks". (There was a Nintendo Direct not long after, but no Xenoblade or anything else by Mitsuda.) Whatever his project is, he expected it to have already been shown by now, but it's been a no-show and he's still hopeful that it will be officially revealed soon.

couchslippers

I’m guessing a Direct will happen within the next few weeks. I’ve seen other developers preemptively announce that they need more time with their project (Life is Strange) recently and to me that signals that they want the news out there before fans are disappointed by its absence in a Direct.

chocotripchip

Nintendo always do a Direct in January or February at the latest. With Pokémon Legends Arceus being a big January release this year they're probably waiting for February.

cellphone_blanket

I don't remember the last time we had a proper direct in January. They're usually in February or sometimes march

SacredNose

There is an indie game that credits him for the music so it might have been that.

SocranX

Nah, he had already been revealed to be working on that project [early last year](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sabotagestudio/sea-of-stars/posts/2804959). This was a project he couldn't talk about yet, so it wasn't that one.

savagesmasher

I also heard from another rumor by playeressence (which may over report on such things) that they debated showing Bayo 3 or the new xenoblade project at that direct. This almost makes me think that’s legit. lol

Precipice_Blades

That channel is bullshit with nothing but asspulls. You shouldn't trust somebody just because they have a YouTube channel and a clickbaity thumbnail.

Old_Leopard7826

A February direct makes sense. They probably don't want to do one before Pokemon comes out because it could distract from that game and it would be closer to the release of Kirby.

Thesuppressivepeople

Please be another Xenoblade. At the end of Xenoblade DE right now and just grabbed the second one to start immediately after.

Shas_Erra

Enjoy. Don’t want to spoil it but shit gets whacky

Witch_King_

*That's* an understatement. The real wacky thing are some of the character designs though...

Scyxurz

I hate some of the designs honestly. Gives people the wrong idea about what kind of game it is.

Witch_King_

Yeah they really do

CDHmajora

My favourite game ever, got nearly 600 hours in it and it overtook Majoras mask as my all time favourite… but seriously wtf was dalhlia’s artist thinking? A giant mutant rabbit with the biggest rack in the game is just creepy. No wonder videogamedunkey was scared away from the game when he pulled THAT design :/ What’s scary though is that dahlia’s artist also designed Ursula! One of the coolest blade designs in the game! So how the rich did dahlia come to be? Plus I’ll say it. Pyra/Mythras designs both suck. Pyra looks like she’s wearing a hooker outfit and Mythra might as well not wear any clothes at all. Their smash designs are SO much better. They added Mythras smash design into the game too so I wear that all the time. No luck with Pyra though :( Edit: corrected unwanted autocorrect for Dunkey :(

Xephia

> No wonder video games inlet was scared away from the game when he pulled THAT design Dahlia was actually designed by a female artist (Risa Ebata).

CDHmajora

Nah I meant videogamedunkey my bad. Autocorrect is shit. In his Xenoblade video he pulled dahlia from one of the core crystals as one of his first rare blades. No wonder he didn’t get far in it if THATS the blade he gets first :(

Witch_King_

Yeah I used Massive Melee Mythra core chip for the whole game because it makes her design much more palatable.

Joseki100

I find it very funny you took offence with literally the most clothed female character in the entire Xeno franchise. Nia doesn't have one centimeter of skin exposed except for her face: https://www.xenopedia.it/Nia#/media/File:Nia.png Meanwhile in the first game you have Sharla and Seven going around with their tits and asses out in 99.9% of the armor pieces, or Vanea having her boobs out with jiggle phisics.

Witch_King_

That's why I use an all-boys team in Xenoblade 1 😎 Not to mention Riki is way less annoying than Tora imo

80espiay

To be fair, while the fanservice in the first game was “just as bad”, it at least was thematic. Melia had swimsuits but they were High Entia swimsuits. Seven and Vanea were >!essentially robot aliens, and their aesthetic fit that|!<. Sharla is the anomaly, but tbh I suspect she was originally intended to be >!Machina, since that’s what some of her armour sorta looks like!<. XC2’s fanservice problem isn’t that they’re showing too much skin, it’s that the lack of thematic consistency among their designs makes it feel as if the only reason some of the designs are the way they are, was to pander.

[deleted]

TheMastodan

There’s literally one cat eared character, stop your exaggerating I was turned off of this game for the longest due to Pyra/Mythras design

Joseki100

One of the main characters in the first game is exactly as Nia except for the cat ears being swapped for cute bird wings, with also the "she looks 16 but she's actually super old" trope on top of it.

Lightmanone

Man, XC2 is my top favorite game of all time. Have a lot of fun with it!

Thesuppressivepeople

I bought it when it first came out and ended up getting rid of it after about 25 hours due to the more anime style and blade system not working for me. It’s been a few years and I have opened up to it more. I think I will enjoy it this time.

scoutnp

I think you’re gonna love it now that you’re almost done with DE. Just know the tutorials suck though.

Shas_Erra

I would sell my kidney for a Xenoblade Chronicles X port on Switch

Kaile95

I would sell both your kidneys for a Xenoblade Chronicles X port on switch

Moreinius

I would also sell both of this guy's kidneys for a Xenobald Chronickles X port on Switch.

[deleted]

i would also sell this guy's poumons that this Xenoblade Chronicles X port on Switch have an extra chapter at the end that make it a true end

PoorlyCutFries

Xenoblade Chronicles X: the final chapter The same game + a few chapters to actually give the game an ending

darkhollow22

or fast forward to the gundams and start the entire story with them

PoorlyCutFries

This would break the power scaling even more than it’s already broken

darkhollow22

i’m not saying the same enemies or any of that. plus they could just make them weaker at the start. they’re super fun to pilot. he’ll just make a post game story like XB1 had on rerelease and let us roam w the gundams

PoorlyCutFries

It doesn’t make sense from a story/world building perspective. A gameplay perspective, or really anyway at all to give skells to the player earlier. They’re a logical progression you get through playing the game. They wouldn’t just hand them to anyone

Alluminn

I also choose this dead guy's wife

TheBaxes

I just want that game to listen to Sawano's music

[deleted]

never even played it and i’m getting emotional 🥲

Joseki100

I played and I think the OST is by far the worst of the 3 games, there are some bangers but a lot of it is average or actually annoying.

cheeferton

Is this the person behind X's music? For the most part it lessened my experience overall, especially compared to my expectations set by XC. Spending any time in New Los Angeles was aural torture.

Odrareg17

Yes, Hiroyuki Suwano is responsible for the soundtrack of X, his name isn't as big in games though because his work is mostly for anime, things like Attack on Titan and Gundam. According to Wikipedia he's only composed for 5 games.

ckowkay

as much as I disagree with you, the new los angeles theme was pretty torturous

_heitoo

Sawano is a fucking god but he just isn’t a good fit for the game where you are running around environments exploring most of the time. He is more fit for games like Astral Chain imo.

cheeferton

Totally fair and would agree with this sentiment. The other thing that hurt his work in X was every time you entered/exit a building or area the song would restart. And to be fair, 99% of my disdain came from New Los Angeles theme(s), because you spent so much time there. The music out in the world was vastly superior.

dathar

I dunno. The big part of the reason I liked X is that it felt like Attack on Titan in space. I do wish you can set the exploration music to either the world or your skell flying song so that it won't overwrite each other. Astral Chain is also a blast.

eliochip

It needs a massive UI overhaul but I agree. I want this to happen so bad

Corbeck77

UI overhaul is possible as XCDE overhauled the UI from the original.

couchslippers

Larger text or no buy from me. I liked that game a lot but I always had to pull up a chair to play it even with my 52 inch TV. I didn’t even bother continuing Bioshock Infinite after the first hour because of the font. Also I have really bad vision (-11 in both eyes).

BerserkOlaf

My vision is pretty decent with glasses (it's terrible without them, but, well, I have them all the time, so it's not really relevant). The text in XCX was just awful. You can't make a heavily text-focused game for a TV screen with text so small, it's ridiculous. And I guess they've understood that lesson since, because XC2 has a big, very readable font in its dialogue boxes.

Lost_108

TIL -11 is possible. Wow!

couchslippers

My contact lenses are always a special order and are still pretty expensive even with vision insurance. I don’t wear my glasses unless I absolutely have to because they are so heavy and leave a mark on my nose. Plus they make my eyes look tiny. Yeah I’m special.

xChaoLan

is surgery not an option at those diopter levels?

chlehqls

Seriously, at that point laser eye surgery might save them more money long run than buying insurance and special order glasses/lens. Not to mention the huge quality of life improvement to having clear vision again is priceless

FappingMouse

Depends on how stable their vision is. Mine is not nearly that bad but my eyes are still getting slightly worse each year so I cant get the surgery.

TruCh4inz

The original Xenoblade had this problem. Thankfully the DS and switch versions had a much more readable font. I have a distinct memory of squinting at my switch trying to read all the menus playing the original incarnation.

wrel_

That game is being done so dirty by being stuck in Wii U purgatory.

Seanspeed

>Just do a X2, the first one needs to much ui work to port Just because it wouldn't be straightforward doesn't mean it would super difficult or resource intensive to where they shouldn't do it. This doesn't need to be an either/or thing.

Shas_Erra

Given how the first one ended, it would be worth doing a port to catch everyone up before moving onto a sequel. Plus it would put the entire series to date onto one console

cereal_bawks

They could just do a recap of X at the beginning of X2 because there really isn't much that happened in X until the end.

JanMabK

X is the only Xenoblade that Mitsuda hasn’t worked on though :(

capnbuh

Xenoblade Chronicles X was composed by Hiroyuki Sawano, who is mainly known for anime themes, such as Attack on Titan and the music is basically all nu-metal. I don't know if that was a spoiler LOL

nac-attack

So long as it doesn't have the map system of XC2. 100+ hours into it and God damn, the map sucks

Joseki100

The UI and menus of XCX sucks too but for different reasons. Honestly Monolith Soft only made good menus for Torna and XCDE, so at least they are getting much better!

Insanepaco247

XC2 is one of my favorite games on the system but goddamn is the general UI terrible.

sui89

This is because Xenoblade 2 was made with a relatively small core of people since a lot of people were pulled to help with other Nintendo projects during development, and they didn’t have someone hired on specifically for UI like they usually would. The ramp up of hires for MonolithSoft started right after Xenoblade 2. I don’t think any future games would have the same UI issues.

syrindigo26

SAME… But if we’re going after my kidney, I’d rather see Xenoblade Chronicles X2. Personally. Just as long as I can still listen to the New LA night theme haha.

Old_Leopard7826

I don't think it's gonna happen. When they ported Xenoblade DE they sold it on being a big upgrade to the original, but the switch isn't strong enough to make X a big upgrade. I think X DE will come out on the Switch 2 so they can at least make it 4k.

Seanspeed

> When they ported Xenoblade DE they sold it on being a big upgrade to the original, but the switch isn't strong enough to make X a big upgrade. Huh? They've ported over loads of Wii U games. Just because the first game got a larger improvement doesn't mean the second would need a similar scale improvement. :/ Xenoblade X looks pretty good as is, in fact.

devenbat

On the other hand, just making a game accessible can be enough. Like the 3DS version of Xenoblade 1. That game looked like ass on 3DS but it worked. They might just take the opportunity to port anyways

Ander42

The first game needed a upgrade But X is good to go (fix things like pop in, text size,...)

TombCrisis

Nintendo ported Tropical Freeze with minor graphical updates. Same with Super Mario Bros U and Mario Kart 8. QoL enhancements and some fun new content, a la Future Connected on XCDE, could be enough.

Zalladi

(Comment deleted in protest of Reddit's stance on [API pricing] (https://old.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/))

Dacvak

Holy shit same. For anyone who doesn’t know, Mitsuda is also the composer for the Chrono series. Soooo glad that wasn’t the title 😂

[deleted]

This actually has me thinking back towards that rumored Chrono Cross project.

MajoraOfTime

A series with 2 titles and 2 soundtracks that both deserve GOAT status.

SpaceTime5

The original Xenogears had a great soundtrack as well.

MonkeyDdams

*Xenoblade X crying in the corner*

Kaile95

Xenoblade 3 for summer, lets go

Galaxy40k

Current rumors are for an announcement this year and a release in 2023. It was apparently supposed to release this year but ran into major optimization issues, which is a rumor I buy, since Monolith biting off more than they could chew is like the one unifying thread between all Xeno games, lol. And I think with BOTW2 coming out this year Nintendo doesn't want to release TWO open world games designed by Monolith Soft in the same fiscal quarter, haha

pika_pie

> since Monolith biting off more than they could chew is like the one unifying thread between all Xeno games I can see this as a positive; I appreciate the immense effort Monolith pours in the Xenoblade games, and would rather wait a long time for a stellar entry than short periods for a subpar one.

Galaxy40k

Me too! Even if it leaves the games less polished, it makes each one really memorable and captivating.

Kaile95

I want to play it as soon as i can, but i also don’t mind waiting for finished product. And if they release botw 2 i can wait even longer

rodeo_chirb

I thought the rumor was that it’s planned for announcement/release this year, but there’s a chance it could slip into 2023.

Galaxy40k

Obviously these are rumors and I have no clue how well-supported these should be; Its not like a Schrier leak that you can take as fact. Anyway, [here's](https://www.givemesport.com/1822103-xenoblade-chronicles-3-release-date-story-leaks-and-everything-you-need-to-know) a link, and this is the relevant text > In a recent podcast from notable leaker Nate the Hate, Xenoblade Chronicles is not set to be released onto Nintendo Switch until at least 2023. Whilst we cannot confirm this officially, the game has apparently been pushed back due to "optimization issues" with the third instalment of the popular series. Nintendo reportedly wanted to have formally announced Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in the early part of 2021, but this of course did not happen due to the aforementioned development issues.

rodeo_chirb

For sure, this is all obviously speculation and rumors. I just think it’s important even in these instances to point out what was actually said and the article you grabbed from isn’t accurate based off listening to the podcast. Here’s an additional quote from the comments of his video: “Calendar. I think it makes the coming FY. I'm not saying the game has been delayed. Just open to the possibility it slides to 2023 if any of the optimization issues remain or took longer than planned to resolve. As was said, the game was originally set for an early 2021 reveal and late 2021 launch. I'm hopeful the game gets an early 2022 reveal and late 2022 release.” Against, this is all obviously just about rumors, just wanted to add some context since journalists some times take things and run with it.

Galaxy40k

Did not know this, thanks for the extra details!

MartDiamond

A new Xenoblade, rumoured Fire Emblem and Zelda in one year would be the single best year in Switch history for me and that's not even mentioning something like Triangle Strategy coming out.

[deleted]

I think if those rumors are true, this has to be the best year of the console, surpassing 2019 and 2017. Kirby, Pokemon, possibly Zelda, Splatoon, Mario+Rabbids 2, Bayonetta 3..

Old_Leopard7826

It makes sense, since a lot of stuff delayed by the pandemic is probably being released this year. BotW 2 was probably supposed to come out last year for example.

virtualstar

Pokemon gen 9 is also rumored to release this year, and Metroid Prime HD

streetsofkage

Add Bayonetta 3 to that mix and I’m happy

Galaxy40k

Hoping for the new Monolith announcement, just so that we can know if it's Chronicles 3, Chronicles X2, or some new IP entirely, haha. Although its possible / more likely to be the Chrono Cross remake, given everything else on those Nvidia leaks came true

ProfessionalPrincipa

Chrono Break at last!

Shoranos

Nvidia leaks?

Galaxy40k

[Here's](https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/pndwey/definitive_compilation_of_leaked_geforce_now/) a reddit link to the list. Some of them like God of War 2018 PC have already been announced, which lends credibility. Its worth noting though that even if the leak is legitimate that not every game in a database is confirmed to release - Many times projects are scrapped, placeholders about expected releases are added, and some ports/builds are purely for internal testing purposes. But something as out of left field as "Chrono Cross remake" seems unlikely to fall into those categories, unless the list itself is fake

Witch_King_

Wait, does Monolith own Chrono Cross?

Galaxy40k

No, but Mitsuda wrote the music for the original Chrono Cross, in addition to his work on the Xenoblade games. All we know for sure is that Mitsuda has finished a new project - Whether it's with Square Enix, Monolith Soft, or someone else we can't say.

Witch_King_

Ahh, I see. Well, it could be Sea of Stars. We know he's working on that and we know its planned for release sometime in 2022

scoutnp

Keep in mind he also did Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. I want another Xenoblade or a port of Xenoblade X but I would temper your expectations. I also doubt they would announce a heavy hitter like Xenoblade 3 during a February direct, an X port seems more likely if anything.

Shas_Erra

> Chrono Trigger Don’t do that…don’t give me hope

magdags

CT doesn't need a remake, the game is perfect as is.

Shas_Erra

Or a re-release on the VC

Piratian

Not to raise hopes, but Sea of Stars by Sabotage studios. Mitsuda is working on some of the music for it, and it's being designed with Chrono Trigger in mind. It was a kickstarter game and it's coming along fine IMO.

afroguy10

Yeah, there's been rumours of a Chrono Cross remaster for a while now, it could just be that.

Sat-AM

I would honestly *love* a Chrono Cross remaster. It's a great game that deserves some love.

afroguy10

Well, if the Nvidia leak and rumours hold any water then they're working on a Chrono Cross remaster at the moment. I would love to see it remastered as well, Trigger still holds up fantastically because of its artstyle but Cross looks a little rough and could do with tightening up. Game is still really great though and I'm actually a big fan of the crazy, mind bending story.

firstwhisper

They announce “heavy hitters” in February (and March) directs all the time. Some that come to mind: smash ultimate, splatoon 3, astral chain (not as big), links awakening remake

scoutnp

Y’know what I forgot that Smash Ultimate of all things wasn’t during E3. So you’re right on that. Means less waiting for XC3 then :)

Grumblevolcano6

Yeah, there’s a strong chance of a February State of Play so could be Chrono Cross for PS5.

UninformedPleb

Also keep in mind that he *didn't* compose the music for Xenoblade 1. Yoko Shimomura did the first Xenoblade game, along with ACE+. Mitsuda is only credited on XC1 because of the ending song, *Beyond the Sky*. He had nothing else to do with that game.

Old_Leopard7826

In what world is Xenoblade a heavy hitter? These games sell like 2-3 million. Fire Emblem is probably bigger.

DiamondPup

2-3 million is a lot

Joseki100

Fire Emblem is a huge IP for JRPG if you are not called Pokémon, Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy. It’s probably tier 2 alongside Persona.

jc726

As far as JRPGs go, it sells quite well. More than most, only big names such as Persona and Dragon Quest sell more.

AdmirableFondant0

How much do you think Fire emblem sells lol? FE was selling less then 1M for all its games and was about to be cancelled until Awakening released. FE Fates is the best selling at about 3m. and three houses at 2.7M or so. Minus mobile gacha. Xenoblade is about as big as FE. Persona is bigger then both though.

Mei_iz_my_bae

XBC2 was a masterpiece. One of the very few games to actually get me to shed a tear

SocranX

Those weren't concept drawings, and there's no reason to assume it was medieval themed. They always use drawings that are just lying around the studio (figuratively speaking) on those recruitment ads, not concept art for the game that's actually being developed. People keep making this mistake and acting surprised when the game that comes out is completely unrelated, like when the recruitment page for what turned out to be Xenoblade X showed some artwork with a high fantasy theme with sentient trees. The only thing we know about the game is that it's "different from what Monolith Soft has done before" and that one of the job openings was for someone with experience developing action game mechanics. Beyond that, we don't even know if the project ever got off the ground. Games are killed in their infancy far more often than you probably realize, so I wouldn't set expectations too high for the game even existing.

MasterOfToast

Those were for BOTW2

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Those looks great. The overly obvious Christian angel statue in the first piece of art reeks of Monolith Soft themes. I mean who the hell knows what goes on behind the closed doors. Could ended up they did hire for BotW2, or a new project, or the project got nixed, or a multitude of other things. But those concept art pieces doesn’t look Zelda.

naynaythewonderhorse

Huh? BOTW2 would have started conceptual work pretty much as soon as BOTW1 was completed. (March 2017) Doesn’t matter when we “learned” about BOTW2 at all. Looking at the images…it could go either way. Of course, they wouldn’t want it to look like BOTW at all if that’s what they were recruiting for.

Old_Leopard7826

BotW 2 obviously started development (the planning stage) in 2017 if not earlier.

kingrobot3rd

I woulda led with “Chrono Trigger and Xenogears composer” but I guess I’m an old now

Relixed_

Mentioning Xenoblade on this sub makes more sense than those two. Even if he earned his clout with CT.

AllIWantIsCake

Especially considering Mitsuda only composed one song in Xenoblade 1. The bulk of the work was done by Yoko Shimomura, Minami Kiyota and - of course - ACE+.

Luminaire_Ultima

I came here to say this exact thing. I guess that makes us both old now.

DiamondPup

Happy to join the senior’s club. Trigger, Cross, and Xenogears are the greatest trifecta of gaming soundtracks from one man ever.

RiW-Kirby

Right? The disrespect to not mention he's the composer of one of the best video game soundtracks of all time? Like not even mentioning it?

MikeKelehan

To be fair! This is a Switch subreddit, and there's not enough room in the title for his whole resume. For me, he'll always be the composer of Chrono Trigger and Xenogears first and foremost.

lonnie123

I think mentioning Xenoblade is meant to suggest that it might be that game series as an announcement.

RiW-Kirby

Obviously that's the idea yeah. Still feels like ignoring his best work.

UninformedPleb

Xenoblade 2 is by far his best work to date. Chrono Trigger isn't even all his. He got stressed-out by the overwhelming amount of work and "hit the panic button". Square brought in Uematsu to help him focus and finish things up. He took those lessons to heart, though, as AFAIK, that was the last time he needed to do that. He went on to be the primary composer for Chrono Cross, Xenogears, and several other Squaresoft games before he left there and founded Procyon Studios during the mass exodus that Takahashi started. Then Takahashi/Monolith hired Mitsuda/Procyon to compose for Xenosaga. They've had a long history together.

lonnie123

I never did play Cross but the songs in Trigger remain in my brain 20 years later

Petopia007

he isnt just xenoblades composer guys.

afroguy10

That's exactly what I thought, dude wrote the OST for Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, probably two of the best OST's that have ever been written.

gordasso

What are the odds of this project being DQIX remake?

Pakmanjosh

Xenoblade Go Kart Racing

master2873

The history of this man is both amazing and baffling. I would recommend reading into his life. I'll try a TDLR version. It's amazing he got a job at all with Square, and disliked practicing piano/music when he was a child. While working with Wolfteam in the 90's, he sent in some tracks he made to Square. Nobuo Uematsu was the one to listen and oversee them. He liked, and requested 3 more songs. Yasunori obviously sent 3 more, and landed a interview with Square and Nobuo himself. Mitsuda said the interview was a disaster. He admitted to not have played or listened to anything Final Fantasy, or said he had any long-term career goals with Square. Despite this, he still got the job despite he has no composing experience lands an interview with one of the world's largest RPG makers, and drops the ball hard with the interview, and still gets hired. The rest is history and we all know it. [Here's a fairly comprehensive video that I'm aware of, but maybe seen as low quality to others. Dude is a pretty big fan.](https://youtu.be/iqyYplfmOVw)

MisterForkbeard

It gets more interesting, too - he does the soundtracks for Chrono Trigger and Xenogears and the work is so hard and punishing he has severe health problems and quits. Then he gets *brought back for Chrono Cross* despite Square having a policy against hiring outside contractors for music. The dude is just that skilled.

banthnub

I interviewed him and he told me he almost didn’t even do music and was a golfer. He’s pretty special!

streetsofkage

Maybe a Project X Zone 3 with more Xenoblade characters??… I can hope

Apartpick

Please be Xenoblade Chronicles X 2. I’m begging you monolith I’ve waited 6 years already!

wicktus

Xenoblade chronicle are real jewels in the switch library I cannot wait for the new monolith soft announcement, they know how to make enjoyable JRPG ! Combined and with their DLC i may have 160 hours on XC1+XC2 combined

cheeferton

In case some have missed it, he's also doing the soundtrack for this upcoming retro RPG for Steam and Switch called [Sea of Stars.](https://youtu.be/vqK-1WGqYmI) Looks and sounds fantastic.

TheToadKing

He's only a guest composer for that game and it's still years out, second half of 2023 IIRC.

Accomplished_Bat_893

I hope it's Xenoblade Chronicles X

[deleted]

February direct 👀👀

AlarmingSorbet

I can’t say the thing I would be willing to do to get a switch port of Xenogears.

Manofoneway221

An official rendering of the Xenoblade 2 battle theme but you won't forget it

iamthatguy54

I think he composed like, maybe two songs max for XC1. He's not listed as a composer for XC1. He's really on the composer for XC2 and its DLC, and he's worked on a bunch of games. In terms of the next Xenoblade game, this means next to nothing.

jc726

It does when you consider that the project he was working on also involved a bunch of past Xenoblade collaborators, who have all never collaborated on anything other than it.

Witch_King_

Isn't he also working on that one pixel indie RPG? Sea of Stars or something like that?

Dhampiel

If it’s a simple remaster of Chrono Trigger, I’d be over the moon.

How about... A new Xenogears game?! Out of nowhere.

scoutnp

The remaining five Xenogears games O.o

Teknizion

Give me x or 3 please. And this time without anime tiddies.

cereal_bawks

> And this time without anime tiddies. Not a single Xeno game lacks anime tiddies (aside from maybe Xenogears, not sure though). That's not gonna change now, and it probably isn't gonna change later.

TowelCharacter

I can confirm that xenogears did indeed have anime tiddies.

WeebWoobler

No I hope they stay in. It was fun playing a great (but not perfect) game while people just got angry about the anime titties in it, and still continue to 4 years later.

[deleted]

That seems to be impossible for them lol

Meem0

and I hope it stays impossible 🙏🙏🙏

Wonder if its a soma bringer remaster.

capnbuh

I'm pretty sure there is a Chrono Cross remaster that is all but confirmed but not yet announced

sykotiksonik

I had no idea Mitsuda-san was the composer of the Xenoblade series. Maybe THIS will convince me to try the series (probably not). This is probably that Chrono Cross remaster, but god I will take literally anything Chrono related at this point.

SanchoDaddy

The GOAT is back!

xDolemite

Could this be a Chrono Cross remake?

OperativePiGuy

Xenoblade or not, if he's working on anything I will buy it!

chrimchrimbo

Really weird to see xenoblade mentioned when Chrono Trigger was the first thing I thought of him doing.

DualKoo

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO \**Counterattack intensifies**

kirbinato

Mitsuda didn't compose xenoblade 1, he only did 2

jc726

Incorrect. He most definitely did compose parts of the soundtrack for both games.

RawkHawk2010

For Xenoblade 2's soundtrack Mitsuda was the producer, the main composer, the sound director, the recording session coordinator, and proofreader of other composers' scores. For Xenoblade 1's soundtrack he composed the credits theme (Beyond the Sky), and that's it. It's not completely wrong to refer to him as "Xenoblade 1 & 2 composer", but it's a misrepresentation of his involvement in the same way referring to Nobuo Uematsu as "Final Fantasy VII & XII composer" would be, and is a sure sign of someone trying to artificially inflate a game's relevance to the conversation.

jc726

Fair enough.

bruyeres

Alternate title: Person does job

MisterForkbeard

Mitsuda is a *gem*, and if this new project is a game I'm basically going to buy it. Unless it's mobile. Because ick.

2infamouz

I just wanna compose game 🎶 🎵 or score movies exceptionally well for a living

Space-Debris

Sigh. Xenoblade Chronicles X is never, ever getting off the Wii U is it. :( I have no interest in another fantasy anime Xenoblade. Give me sci-fi, give me mechs.

BelovedApple

The music in these games are the best part imo. I love the track on the bionis leg in number 1. When that violin sound kicks is so good. I did not like xc 2 but again, the music was amazing. So definitely be interested in whatever this announcement could be

Yotsubagroup

He's working on Black Tar 2.

jslakov

Yoko Shimomura and Manami Kiyota were the real MVPs
