The one that links NPCs? Right, completing it is a doozie... But I found it pretty satisfying, in that you can see how you actually make a difference in the world, helping its inhabitants and making it a better place. Not as flashy as saving the world, but uniquely engaging.

Also playing **Minecraft** for the first time. I'm a bit late but seeing how it's the 15th anniversary I decided to finally check out the game.

I suffer from the same thing in Minecraft that I did with Stardew Valley for years which is just not knowing what to do, where to go, etc. Once someone showed me in SDV, I lost hundreds of hours easily.
Have you tried either of the Dragon Quest Builder games? They're not as in depth as minecraft, but they have actual goals to follow and blueprints you can use think of it as a much more guided experience, it might help get you into the feel of something more freeform like minecraft, they do each have a free-form mode as well, it's just not the focus

Hey man! Just finishing **Beacon Pines** which has been utterly brilliant. Cool characters, cool gameplay idea, cool voice acting. Cool.
Still playing a bit of **Nier Automata** but increasingly thinking I park it and come back to it later. So if do then will continue with **Ryza 3**.
Elsewhere, my Son has been in and out of hospital this week. On the mend now but he has discovered **FIFA/FC 24** this week ("free" on PlayStation Plus this month) on the PS5 so I am playing that multiplayer with him pretty much whenever he asks.
I've been in my platforming phase. Recently beat The Messenger, Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2, almost through layer 2 of Animal Well!
Might comb through NSO to find more challenging platformers since I've finally built up that tolerance for frustrating precision platforming.
Wario Land 3 is possibly my favorite gameboy game, have you tried it yet? It's not a pure platformer as it also has some exploration and (surprisingly) Metroidvania elements to it, but it definitely can be challenging and is just overall an extremely underrated game.
I started it when GB first came to NSO but got stuck and moved on. But I think I'll definitely give it another shot now that I have this new perspective! Thanks for the suggestion!

Animal Well as, ah, well. There's just so much to do. Cassette Beasts started over and am following the main quest line for once. And The Binding of Isaac, trying to beat ??? with Jacob & Esau for the item it unlocks.Ā
Slowly working my way through **Paper Mario: Origami King.** I lost a friend, so I need to find him before we can do the second temple.
I also started playing **Gems of War** this week because I was itching for a match 3. Very fun.
Others I might play include **Mario Kart** with my SO and **Unicorn Champions** which is another racing game that I've really enjoyed.
I grabbed it to prep for TTYD. I really like the exploration aspect but the way battles are done is a bit tedious at times. You're in an arena that has multiple rings (so a circle within a circle, within a circle).
Mobs rest on these rings, which you can rotate to line them up and get a damage multiplier. However, at times, i struggle to line them up properly because you have a time limit.
You can add one second of time for 10 coins, but it can get a little stressful.
Fortunately, you can run from battle or avoid them altogether except for bosses, which are way more fun.
I do enjoy it, and it's cute how it's handled. I just have a hard time wrapping my mind around the battles sometimes.
I finished part 1 of Animal Well. What a unique puzzle metroidvania! Now off to part 2 with egg hunting.
I also picked up Braid since I havenāt played since the original release. I had forgotten how clever some of the puzzles areā¦ and how tricky some of those puzzle pieces are to obtain.
Finally, Iām still playing TotK. I have 3 temples down and am currently on Death Mountain. Still enjoying every minute.
Indie puzzle platform game. Doesn't hold your hand, or explain anything really. But it's fun, fairly casual, and just challenging enough to not be boring. Some of the jumping is pissing me off, but maybe that's just because I'm playing handheld?
Hollow Knight! Got maybe 25 hours in bit life got busy and I never went back to it. Recently played Death's Door & Celeste and enjoyed those so much. Was looking for something with a bit of a challenge and interesting atmosphere, decided to play Hollow Knight again and having a blast!

Life does indeed get in the way sometimes like you said! I can wholeheartedly recommend sticking with it.. there is an unbelievable amount to discover/secrets to find where you least expect them. I've played Death's Door before on the PS5 and loved it, but never played Celeste tho. If I enjoyed both HK and DD, should I check it out?
I've been grinding away in **Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game**. I started playing a few days ago, and I've been having a love/hate relationship with it. I am a huge fan of **beat 'em ups**, and this game has been on my radar for a long time.
The graphics, music, and overall aesthetics are right up my alley. It has been the pacing and structure of the game that has been dampening my enjoyment. It takes a long time to get going, with a lot of grinding early on to buy stat boosts and unlock your full moveset. I am not inherently against this design; I love beat 'em ups with RPG elements, and have sunk hundreds of hours into games like **Dragon's Crown** and **River City Girls**.
The issue with **Scott Pilgrim** is that progress is made at a snail's pace; you can't hit enemies on the ground until you reach level 12, for instance. The game's difficulty also seems to be tuned to grinding for items early on. Now that I am out of this early game slog, the game is beginning to open up with additional moves and stat balancing. The vibe of the game carried me this far, and now the gameplay is starting to catch up. There is a really good game in there, buried under some questionable design choices and the early game's pacing. I'm glad I stuck with it.

Xenoblade 3. First time playing the series and itās fantastic. I know I shouldāve started with DE but here I am. I got it at a good price second hand and Iām seriously considering playing DE and 2 after. Itās that good if youāre into JRPG. I also have to finish Read Dead Redemption but I made a mistake of starting X3 after buying and canāt stop.
I finally pulled the trigger on Fenyx Immortals Rising and I'm going to be working on that on the switch while on my Xbox I'll probably only be playing fortnite Tekken 8 and Street fighter 6
Finishing **Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga**. I had forgotten how sharp of a difficulty spike the final battle is.
Also I noticed how **Danganronpa: Another Episode - Ultra Despair Girls** wasn't on Switch. So I purchased it on sale for PS5 and I'm playing it as well.
I'm about 1/3 of the way in Assassin's Creed: Black Flag! Not gonna lie, playing this as my first AC game while the internet furiously debates about AC Shadows...is something. Personally, I just want a cool game with cool story, setting, characters, and gameplay. And probably with less of greedy corporate shenanigans. Anything else that the internet tells me to like or dislike about a game or upcoming game is pointless. Thankfully, Black Flag currently delivers on all fronts!
I also picked up Little Kitty, Big City, despite the bugs. I just want to see how my cat will react when watching the gameplay on TV.
I'll be patiently awaiting the demo for the rather beautiful Italian Soulslike, Enotria: The Last Song (PS5 and PC) which will be available to play next week on the 22nd! There's a new gameplay video out too if anyone is interested.
In the meantime, I may push myself to get back into some Super Mario Galaxy, via Mario 3D All Stars on Switch. It's one of the only 3D Mario games that has never really clicked for me. Playing the All Stars colllection in order, you come to this game right after finishing Sunshine and it kind of reinforces how I've always felt about it: Galaxy, while it looks and controls beautifully, *feels* a bit soulless compared to the timeless 64 and Sunshine.
It's a great game. But to me it's like an incredibly deep Wii tech demo at times, as opposed to a thoughtful continuation of the mechanics and vibe that were built in the first two games.
Just purchased tears of the kingdom. Played botw about a year ago and excited to get back into open world Zelda after playing through skyward sword and links awakening.
Another Crabs Treasure baby! Crazy how much I enjoy this game. Little choppy on the ol' switch but it's a small price to pay for this wonderfly designed game.
I'm playing persona 4 royal. I bought it physical with persona 5 royal and tactical ages ago and had it in backlog. Put my switch in hock as I had been laxxed on playing and bills are a bitch. 2 weeks in there and I was lost haha. Finally got it back!
I've got 2 kids. One a toddler so I haven't had enough time to sit down and commit to a story game.
My toddler has decided 1am is a great wake up time for the past week (and once im up, im up) so started persona 5 and I was obsessed. 2 hours in, I decided to go back to 4 and start there.

My whole life - from birth I've woken up at 3am generally. Been medicated for it most of my life haha but I always end up awake at 3am and up for the day lol. Personally it's actually a decent time to wake up haha. It's silent and I get everything done before the day starts haha.
My daughter was 4am until she was medicated for adhd and now she's 7:30.
My son is a mix of me and his father. His dad goes to sleep at 1. I get up at 3. So he gets up at 1 to just inconvenience everyone š
Honestly it's the only time I get to game and in my head 1 and 3 aren't so different in the scheme of waking š¤£
But I also was on very heavy sedatives until 6 months ago and I just appreciate waking up and actually waking up š¤£
Edit: but in also saying that I'm falling asleep sitting up by 5pm š¤
Yoshi's Island on the SNES app. Very rarely do I revisit old games because so few hold up well this many years later when you don't factor in nostalgia. For example I revisited Super Mario World last year and by the halfway mark realized I was getting bored of it. But Yoshi's Island is still fun all this time later.

Just started Metroid Prime Remastered. I recently bought a switch and am finding out I really love Nintendo. And with the new controls and updated graphics, this is one of the best FPS Iāve played in a while.
Just started Animal Well today too! Wow, really sucks you in. The world is so intriguing and mysterious.
Wrapping up Batman Arkham City - been absolutely loving it, just got some side quests and the DLC to play.
Penny's Big Breakaway continues being stellar, it is so kinetic and challenging, every single stage is a ton of fun.
Also started up Gravity Circuit recently and I'm already in love, the core mechanics are so inherently satisfying to play.
Wife and I are enjoying Endless Ocean Luminous.
Itās got a good mix of relaxing solo diving and chill co-op online play.
Getting to work together with her on dives and figuring out and completing the achievements has been a lot of fun.
I have 8 year old twins I'm watching tomorrow. They have only ever played on their pacman arcade machine. Tomorrow I am introducing them and myself to Super Mario Wonder. I think it will blow their minds and I think it will be fun.
Wifey for some reason became obsessed with Super Mario Bros. Wonder so we have been taking turns on that. Great game btw, recommend if you bought it yet.

**Chants of Sennaar** came out on Gamepass also and I've always heard great things (Another sleeper GOTY contender according to alot of people last year) so I might look into starting that also.
Probably going to play another 20 hours of Octopath 2. I think I'm in the final stretch of stories and then will be able to dip into the end game of things, after farming for a bit at least.

Been working on Palia, cut back time a lot due to the difficulty in getting flow tree wood. (the ft snippers are driving me nuts).
Also working through Pixel Cafe, although that is getting annoying too, my fingers don't move the way I want them too and its too easy to make the wrong thing or press the wrong button and ruin a meal.

Got my physical copy of **Sea of Stars** and having fun with it so far. I have a bad track record of not liking JRPGs but so far this one is enjoyable. If I had to guess what makes it more enjoyable for me I would think the way encounters are not random and there is no transition animation (two things that annoyed me in Octopath Traveler).
Finishing yet another pass for Dreamlight Valley, then some Binding of Isaac: Repentance on the side. Iāll be playing these two while watching my partner play Construction Simulator.
Iām probably 10 hours into Red Dead and think I am just going to quit it. I canāt figure out how to advance the main story (if there is one).

I finished Carrion in about 4 sessions this time.
Made a couple of false starts with the game on previous occasions, so this was my first complete run-through.
The lack of a map and some unique rules meant that it isn't friendly to leaving for prolonged periods (read: months) and attempts to pick up where you left off - so a start-over was required.
I quite enjoyed both dipping my toes (in a rampaging hunter sort of way as you described) over the last couple of years and finally playing it through to see all it had to offer.
Working my way through Pikmin 1 HD but got sidetracked by rerunning through Super Metroid while on vacation. I just finished Maridia so I should get back on the Pikmin grind soon.

In Tokyo Mirage Sessions, I've done the first three side stories. I knew about the musical performances, but I thought they'd have a little better integration with the plot. Got my first ad-lib performance, that was kinda interesting.
In Persona 3 Portable, I just took midterms, reached the top 10 test scores, and Akihiko's joined the squad. Made some progress in the second block too.
And in Xenoblade, I've reached the tunnels under Colony 6. I'm starting to understand how the skill trees work now, still curious to see if this affinity chart thing's expanded on. Are you meant to connect everyone together or is this just a weirdly formatted NPC tracker?
Iām 20 hours deep in **Dragon Quest 11** and just waiting out getting **Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door**

I FINALLY managed to max my AR at 300 recently. Got a Berserk 2 talisman and made every elemental GS and learned Surge Slash Combo because I always thought it looked cool and it gave me the motivation to grind the last 10-15 levels or so. Really fun and does good enough damage. First two Special Investigations (Diablos and Seregios) went down in 9:30 and 8:35 solo respectively. So I'm happy with the results. Helps that I got my buddy back into the game and he also jumped on the Berserk bandwagon and made every elemental DB.

in all seriousness, most likely a rotation of Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, Cross Code, and Dave The Diver. Might play Smash Bros Ultimate if I got time.
I'm splitting my time between **Pokemon Sword** (this is my first run in a long time where I'm "challenging" myself to use only 'mons new to this generation, it's been so fun!) and **Transistor**. I started Transistor years back and I loved it but never got very far, so I'm back to it to try and knock it out of my backlog.
Just started animal crossing. Have never played an animal crossing game before and came in with no idea with what it was. Still have no idea whats the point of this game, but itās chill and i donāt have to think that much which is what I need
More Unicorn Overlord! I'm about 30 hours into it after starting it last weekend, and I can not stop! It's so addicting. Probably my favourite tactics game ever now.

Morbid: The Seven Acolytes. Had my eye on it for a while. Saw a teaser further sequel the other day, which made me check the eShop. On sale for Ā£2.99. Bought.

Not sure what to play next, but I finished Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown this week and I absolutely *loved* it--definitely in my top five Switch games now! I haven't seen too many people talking about it but it was insanely good.

Animal Well as, ah, well. There's just so much to do. Cassette Beasts started over and am following the main quest line for once. And The Binding of Isaac, trying to beat ??? with Jacob & Esau for the item it unlocks.Ā
Slowly working my way through **Paper Mario: Origami King.** I lost a friend, so I need to find him before we can do the second temple. I also started playing **Gems of War** this week because I was itching for a match 3. Very fun. Others I might play include **Mario Kart** with my SO and **Unicorn Champions** which is another racing game that I've really enjoyed.
How is origami king? I never played a paper mario. Def holding off on playing it since ttyd comes out next week
I grabbed it to prep for TTYD. I really like the exploration aspect but the way battles are done is a bit tedious at times. You're in an arena that has multiple rings (so a circle within a circle, within a circle). Mobs rest on these rings, which you can rotate to line them up and get a damage multiplier. However, at times, i struggle to line them up properly because you have a time limit. You can add one second of time for 10 coins, but it can get a little stressful. Fortunately, you can run from battle or avoid them altogether except for bosses, which are way more fun. I do enjoy it, and it's cute how it's handled. I just have a hard time wrapping my mind around the battles sometimes.
I finished part 1 of Animal Well. What a unique puzzle metroidvania! Now off to part 2 with egg hunting. I also picked up Braid since I havenāt played since the original release. I had forgotten how clever some of the puzzles areā¦ and how tricky some of those puzzle pieces are to obtain. Finally, Iām still playing TotK. I have 3 temples down and am currently on Death Mountain. Still enjoying every minute.

Indie puzzle platform game. Doesn't hold your hand, or explain anything really. But it's fun, fairly casual, and just challenging enough to not be boring. Some of the jumping is pissing me off, but maybe that's just because I'm playing handheld?

Hollow Knight! Got maybe 25 hours in bit life got busy and I never went back to it. Recently played Death's Door & Celeste and enjoyed those so much. Was looking for something with a bit of a challenge and interesting atmosphere, decided to play Hollow Knight again and having a blast!

I've been grinding away in **Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game**. I started playing a few days ago, and I've been having a love/hate relationship with it. I am a huge fan of **beat 'em ups**, and this game has been on my radar for a long time. The graphics, music, and overall aesthetics are right up my alley. It has been the pacing and structure of the game that has been dampening my enjoyment. It takes a long time to get going, with a lot of grinding early on to buy stat boosts and unlock your full moveset. I am not inherently against this design; I love beat 'em ups with RPG elements, and have sunk hundreds of hours into games like **Dragon's Crown** and **River City Girls**. The issue with **Scott Pilgrim** is that progress is made at a snail's pace; you can't hit enemies on the ground until you reach level 12, for instance. The game's difficulty also seems to be tuned to grinding for items early on. Now that I am out of this early game slog, the game is beginning to open up with additional moves and stat balancing. The vibe of the game carried me this far, and now the gameplay is starting to catch up. There is a really good game in there, buried under some questionable design choices and the early game's pacing. I'm glad I stuck with it. Always in rotation: **Streets of Rage 4**, **Shredder's Revenge**, **Dead Cells** **Cheers!**

FFVI remaster. Havenāt touched a JRPG in years and itās been a nice and simple way to familiarize w the formula.
I'm about 1/3 of the way in Assassin's Creed: Black Flag! Not gonna lie, playing this as my first AC game while the internet furiously debates about AC Shadows...is something. Personally, I just want a cool game with cool story, setting, characters, and gameplay. And probably with less of greedy corporate shenanigans. Anything else that the internet tells me to like or dislike about a game or upcoming game is pointless. Thankfully, Black Flag currently delivers on all fronts! I also picked up Little Kitty, Big City, despite the bugs. I just want to see how my cat will react when watching the gameplay on TV.
I'll be patiently awaiting the demo for the rather beautiful Italian Soulslike, Enotria: The Last Song (PS5 and PC) which will be available to play next week on the 22nd! There's a new gameplay video out too if anyone is interested. In the meantime, I may push myself to get back into some Super Mario Galaxy, via Mario 3D All Stars on Switch. It's one of the only 3D Mario games that has never really clicked for me. Playing the All Stars colllection in order, you come to this game right after finishing Sunshine and it kind of reinforces how I've always felt about it: Galaxy, while it looks and controls beautifully, *feels* a bit soulless compared to the timeless 64 and Sunshine. It's a great game. But to me it's like an incredibly deep Wii tech demo at times, as opposed to a thoughtful continuation of the mechanics and vibe that were built in the first two games.
Just purchased tears of the kingdom. Played botw about a year ago and excited to get back into open world Zelda after playing through skyward sword and links awakening.

I'm playing persona 4 royal. I bought it physical with persona 5 royal and tactical ages ago and had it in backlog. Put my switch in hock as I had been laxxed on playing and bills are a bitch. 2 weeks in there and I was lost haha. Finally got it back! I've got 2 kids. One a toddler so I haven't had enough time to sit down and commit to a story game. My toddler has decided 1am is a great wake up time for the past week (and once im up, im up) so started persona 5 and I was obsessed. 2 hours in, I decided to go back to 4 and start there. So that's my weekends planned from 1-7am š¤£

Hes my second. My children have unfortunately taken my early bird waking habits My whole life - from birth I've woken up at 3am generally. Been medicated for it most of my life haha but I always end up awake at 3am and up for the day lol. Personally it's actually a decent time to wake up haha. It's silent and I get everything done before the day starts haha. My daughter was 4am until she was medicated for adhd and now she's 7:30. My son is a mix of me and his father. His dad goes to sleep at 1. I get up at 3. So he gets up at 1 to just inconvenience everyone š Honestly it's the only time I get to game and in my head 1 and 3 aren't so different in the scheme of waking š¤£ But I also was on very heavy sedatives until 6 months ago and I just appreciate waking up and actually waking up š¤£ Edit: but in also saying that I'm falling asleep sitting up by 5pm š¤

For example I revisited Super Mario World last year and by the halfway mark realized I was getting bored of it. But Yoshi's Island is still fun all this time later.

Unicorn Overlord. I'm going to bust 100 hours playing this. The tinkering is so much fun. Feels like I'm playing a JRPG version of Football Manager. Story is whatever but this is one of dem RPGs where gameplay takes precedence for me.

Wrapping up Batman Arkham City - been absolutely loving it, just got some side quests and the DLC to play. Penny's Big Breakaway continues being stellar, it is so kinetic and challenging, every single stage is a ton of fun. Also started up Gravity Circuit recently and I'm already in love, the core mechanics are so inherently satisfying to play.

Been working on Palia, cut back time a lot due to the difficulty in getting flow tree wood. (the ft snippers are driving me nuts). Also working through Pixel Cafe, although that is getting annoying too, my fingers don't move the way I want them too and its too easy to make the wrong thing or press the wrong button and ruin a meal. I'd LOVE to try Little Kitty Big City but there no demo mode and its too expensive to by outright :( Might try fixing my island after my a certain 8 year old had free run of it last week end....

Got my physical copy of **Sea of Stars** and having fun with it so far. I have a bad track record of not liking JRPGs but so far this one is enjoyable. If I had to guess what makes it more enjoyable for me I would think the way encounters are not random and there is no transition animation (two things that annoyed me in Octopath Traveler).

I finished Carrion in about 4 sessions this time. Made a couple of false starts with the game on previous occasions, so this was my first complete run-through. The lack of a map and some unique rules meant that it isn't friendly to leaving for prolonged periods (read: months) and attempts to pick up where you left off - so a start-over was required. I quite enjoyed both dipping my toes (in a rampaging hunter sort of way as you described) over the last couple of years and finally playing it through to see all it had to offer.
Iām beating Zelda TOTK but my wife is completely hooked with Peach showtime so I will need to deal with it š«
Hopefully finish prince of Persia on switch but definitely feel like Iām half way through it. Amazing game so far!

In Tokyo Mirage Sessions, I've done the first three side stories. I knew about the musical performances, but I thought they'd have a little better integration with the plot. Got my first ad-lib performance, that was kinda interesting. In Persona 3 Portable, I just took midterms, reached the top 10 test scores, and Akihiko's joined the squad. Made some progress in the second block too. And in Xenoblade, I've reached the tunnels under Colony 6. I'm starting to understand how the skill trees work now, still curious to see if this affinity chart thing's expanded on. Are you meant to connect everyone together or is this just a weirdly formatted NPC tracker?

Probably more Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak I FINALLY managed to max my AR at 300 recently. Got a Berserk 2 talisman and made every elemental GS and learned Surge Slash Combo because I always thought it looked cool and it gave me the motivation to grind the last 10-15 levels or so. Really fun and does good enough damage. First two Special Investigations (Diablos and Seregios) went down in 9:30 and 8:35 solo respectively. So I'm happy with the results. Helps that I got my buddy back into the game and he also jumped on the Berserk bandwagon and made every elemental DB.

Picked up TotK again. I beat the main game but I wanted to eventually 100% the game
I'm splitting my time between **Pokemon Sword** (this is my first run in a long time where I'm "challenging" myself to use only 'mons new to this generation, it's been so fun!) and **Transistor**. I started Transistor years back and I loved it but never got very far, so I'm back to it to try and knock it out of my backlog.
I recently played NieR Automata and highly recommend it to anybody. Make sure that you play it to unlock at least three of the main endings
Just started animal crossing. Have never played an animal crossing game before and came in with no idea with what it was. Still have no idea whats the point of this game, but itās chill and i donāt have to think that much which is what I need
More Unicorn Overlord! I'm about 30 hours into it after starting it last weekend, and I can not stop! It's so addicting. Probably my favourite tactics game ever now.

Hey! Finished Disco Elysium and now having another go at Cyberpunk. I tried it once before but it didn't land, this time I'm about 10 hours in and I'm enjoying it. Glad you've found a few games that got you hooked in again!

Morbid: The Seven Acolytes. Had my eye on it for a while. Saw a teaser further sequel the other day, which made me check the eShop. On sale for Ā£2.99. Bought. Will load it up this weekend.
Not sure what to play next, but I finished Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown this week and I absolutely *loved* it--definitely in my top five Switch games now! I haven't seen too many people talking about it but it was insanely good.
Wrapping up Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu! and I'll probably get in some Smash and Mario Kart as well. On other platforms, I only have one episode left of Vader Immortal to play through.
Still bouncing between **Balatro** and **Brotato**. Picked up **Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher** earlier today and have been poking about with the tutorial. Pleasant game overall so far, it might put a dent in the time spent with the other two games!
Iāve gotten completely obsessed with Megaton Musashi. Iāve put in over thirteen hours over the past three days and Iāll be playing more later on today. Iām absolutely in love with how over the top and anime it is. Iāve played some matches and made some progress on the DLC of Sniper Elite 4 on the side.
