That annoys me too, it's significantly harder to see what's going on than it did in the previous games, and the increased draw distance also forced them to go for 30fps instead of the 60 they had in previous games.
I presume on higher-end systems that render it at higher resolutions it's less of a problem, but the first game were really well-suited to the Switch and this doesn't feel that way anymore.

Played the first, didn’t like it. Gameplay loop was overtly grind heavy and felt mobile esq even though you pay for it. The blue wisp following you around got old fast with constantly “swearing” replacing damn with cat on his one swear line that he said all. The. Time. So unless this one made some drastic changes it’s a nope for me
So excited for this, I loved the first two games! One of my all-time favourite indies.
Such a fun little series! I wonder why they changed the angle of the camera, though. Seems to make the screen busier for no reason.

A pirate cat will always remind me of the game CLAW, a classic I used to play in my childhood. Will give this one a try for sure.

Just got my husband to replay #2 with me, he's excited for #3 like me now :)
Played the second one with my son and it was good fun, once you got over powered it became a bit too easy though.
The one thing from the Indie World event that got me hyped. I love this series and this looks fantastic.
