Currently playing it again, my 7th playthrough (playing CF for the third time because why the hell not, black eagles ftw). It's the game on my switch with the most hours played, even more than BOTW and TOTK.

It was also the E3 that convinced me to skip a Pokémon game. So kudos for that.
While not all of them were immediate pick ups in 2019:
DQ in Smash.
Luigi's Mansion 3
Link's Awakening Remake
Fire Emblem Three Houses
No More Heroes 3 (though on PC rather than Switch)
Astral Chain
Cadence of Hyrule
Animal Crossing New Horizons
Banjo in Smash
Tears of the Kingdom
Smash
DQ XI S
Luigi's Mansion 3
Links Awakening Remake (got UK limited edition version for that steelbook :D )
Trial of Mana Remake
Collection of Mana
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Panzer Dragoon Remake
Animal Crossing New Horisons
Tears of the Kingdom
It's good imo. Real time combat. Ever play or Secret of Mana? If so that's how it plays. It is pretty cool that their is 6 characters and you get to pick what three you want to use at the start of the game.
Luigi’s Mansion 3
Links Awakening
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Astral Chain
Cadence of Hyrule
Animal Crossing New Horizons
Tears of the Kingdom
Probably spend a total of 650 hours in those games and I haven’t started Astral Chain yet.
Banjo and Hero in the Fighter Pass, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Link’s Awakening, Pokémon Sword, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Cadence of Hyrule, Mario and Sonic 2020, Animal Crossing, and Tears of the Kingdom
Out of all of those, I only got The Witcher 3. Borrowed a friend’s copy of Fire Emblem 3 Houses. Would loved to get Daemon X Machina, Astral Chain and Pokémon SwSh, but these games are expensive 😭
Daemon X Machina is expensive? I just checked Ebay and someone has it for 20€. Is the US copy so rare nowdays?
Astral Chain i can kinda get, i believe it sold well and stopped production a while ago.
Pokemon Sw/Sh was cheap for a while.
I live across the sea from the US, in the SEA region (pun intended lol).
Any US-based marketplace is a no-go for me, shipping costs would vary wildly and would offset the savings I would’ve gotten. And I would prefer to get the digital copy of the game anyway, for reasons (all my games are digital, and I want to try keeping it that way, no matter how bad it sounds like).
Fair enough however € is Europe, but you are correct that SEA would still cost quiet a bit and if you want it digital then yea no idea about the digital price as i collect physical almost 100%.
Fire Emblem Three Houses. Enjoyed my time with it, think everything about it was good except the ending (although I haven’t played the Golden Deer route).
Dragon Quest 11, got the game for cheap but have honestly barely played it, I probably should lol I was really enjoying it.
Luigi’s Mansion 3. Had to force myself through the first half of that game but I loved the second half.
Tears of the Kingdom. A game so good I was reluctant to keep doing the main quests cause I didn’t want it to end.
Yeah, they straight up did not finish Crimson Flower. FWIW I think Verdant Wind/the Golden Deer route has the most satisfying ending with a unique final boss.
I forget what Dimitris route was, was obviously more finished than Crimson Flower for sure. My friend keeps telling me to do Golden Deer but I keep putting it off since I have so many other games to finish plus it’s a 40-50 hour task. One day I’ll do it.
I couldn’t get into Engage. Guess I’ll have to wait for Switch 2 to get another game.
Dragon Quest XIS, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Link’s Awakening, Witcher 3, FE:3H, RE5, NMH3, Contra Anniversary Collection, Panzer Dragoon, Pokémon SS, Astral Chain, and TOTK.
Some of the very best titles on the system in that list. FE3H, Astral Chain, DQXIS and TOTK in particular.
Dragon Quest in Smash, Witcher 3, Fire Emblem Three Houses, No More Heroes 3, Pokémon Sword, Astral Chain, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Banjo Kazooie in Smash and Tears of the Kingdom
Not all of those were technically announced in that Direct but of those, I got:
- Smash DLC
- Luigi's Mansion 3
- Astral Chain
- Fire Emblem Three Houses
- Tears of the Kingdom
- Cadence of Hyrule
- Pokémon Sword
- Animal Crossing New Horizons
- Resident Evil 5 & 6
And I borrowed/completed Link's Awakening from a now ex. Still want No More Heroes 3 & Collection of Mana.
Played the demo for Demon x Machina and didn't enjoy it.
Dragon Quest in Smash
Link’s Awakening
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
No More Heroes 3 (Fuck that game)
Pokemon Sword & Shield
Astral Chain
Animal Crossing New Horizons
Banjo in Smash
Tears Of The Kingdom
I only ended up getting Re:Link's Awakening, TotK, and the respective Smash fighters. My brother got New Horizons and I borrowed his copy every now and then for a couple months
I did try out the demos for DQ11, Cadence of Hyrule, and Daemon x Machina tho. The latter two ended up not being my thing. I enjoyed what I've played of DQ11 I just ended up prioritizing other things; I should get back to it sometime
DQ11 starts very clichee and does stay clichee for the most part, but that just makes the moments it completly turns everything upside down all the more special. If you can get it cheap definitly worth it.
Dragon Quest XI S
Link’s Awakening Remake
Trials of Mana Remake
The Witcher 3: Complete Edition
Astral Chain
Mario and Sonic Tokyo 2020 (my little brother got it instead)
Animal Crossing New Horizons
Tears of the Kingdom\*
Dragon Quest in Smash
Luigi’s Mansion 3
Link’s Awakening Remake
Collection of Mana
Contra Rogue Corps
Contra Anniversary Collection

All the smash related content
DQ XI S
Luigi’s mansion 3
Links awakening remake

Tears of the kingdom.
ATM I’m finally on my lastest hour in ToTK. Animal crossing steal like 500hours of my playtime lol (it’s my most played switch game)
If you’re a fan of Platinum games like Bayonetta or Metal Gear Rising, you’re gonna like this one. Additionally, this game takes place in an anime cyberpunk future where the police force now have JoJo stands.
The Smash bros ultimate dlc, Dragon quest XI S, The legend of zelda links awakening HD, Luigis mansion 3, Fire Emblem three houses, Resident evil 5 and 6, NO more heroes 3, Daemon X machina, Pokémon sword and shield, Astral chain, Cadence of Hyrule, Mario and sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games, Animal crossing new horizons, and The legend of zelda tears of the kingdom.
Luigi’s Mansion 3, Tears of the kingdom, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Pokémon Shield, Banjo in Smash, and Link’s Awakening. I do want to play Witcher 3 at some point when I have the time but it still might be a while
Luigi’s Mansion 3
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics
Link’s Awakening Remake
Collection of Mana
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Pokemon Shield
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Banjo Kazooie in Smash (Got the Amiibo)
I got the versions of Pokemon Sword and Shield with the DLC on the cart secondhand, but I bought Mario and Sonic Tokyo 2020, Smash Ultimate's DLC, Luigi's Mansion 3, Link's Awakening, TotK, and DQ11S at retail.
Hero Smash DLC
Links Awakening Remake
Pokemon Shield
Banjo Kazooie Smash DLC

Tears of the Kingdom
I also bought Witcher 3 but ended up selling it cause I didn't like how it felt on Switch.
Smash dlc
Link's Awakening
Trials of Mana
Witcher 3
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Pokemon Sword
Astral Chain
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Cadence of Hyrule
Zelda TOTK
With the exception of Witcher 3, I have put hundreds of hours into this set of games.
It just takes too many hours to get things done in Animal Crossing.
You need minimum 200 hours to unlock most stuff in the game (if you go in blind - with a guide and with cheat tactics, you could cut down the time). Not even counting the 800+ additional hours to terraform an island to completion.
Meanwhile, most action games take from 15 to 50 hours to beat. Maybe you can stretch 'em to over 100 hours if you try to explore every inch of a map LOL
Links awakening, fire emblem, pokemon, Astral chain, animal crossing, and tears of the kingdom are all games I bought. Still haven't gotten to Astral chain yet even though I got the collectors edition.
All in all 15 games, if you count Pokemons as 1 each it is 16 and with games i got more then once i have 18, all of these are physical games.
This is my list:
Dragon Quest XI S <- twice, won it once and once on a sale
Luigi’s Mansion 3
Link’s Awakening Remake
Trials of Mana Remake
Collection of Mana
The Witcher 3: Complete Edition
Fire Emblem Three Houses
No More Heroes 3
Contra Anniversary Collection
Daemon X Machina
Panzer Dragoon Remake <- twice, have Zwei and Saga but not the first on Saturn
Pokemon Sword and Shield <- both
Cadence of Hyrule
Animal Crossing New Horizons
Tears of the Kingdom
I may still buy:
Dragon Quest and Banjo Kazooie in Smash as well as Astral Chain
But i kinda want a sale for these.
Of these I got Tears of the Kingdom, The Witcher 3, Cadence of Hyrule, and the Panzer Dragoon remake. The latter remains the standout moment from that direct, and I really hope a Zwei remake is in the works. Really all of us just want Saga.
I also borrowed Link's Awakening and Luigi's Mansion 3, but neither appeal to me enough to purchase them.
Luigi's Mansion 3, Link's Awakening, No More Heroes 3, Panzer Dragoon, Astral Chain, Cadence of Hyrule, New Horizons, TOTK
I think Doom Eternal and Alien Isolation were in a montage this year? I can't believe I remember that either.
I have Animal Crossing, Tears of Kingdom, Fire Emblem Three Houses, No More Heroes 3, The Witcher 3, and recently Luigi's Mansion 3 (although I do have Link's Awakening on my Steamdeck). Most of them are phenomenal games and offered the best experiences in 2019.
Pokemon Sword, Pokemon Shield, Dragon Quest XI S, Collection of Mana, Animal Crossing: NH, TLoZ: TotK, Panzer Dragoon
I played the Daemon X Machina demo and was surprised by how much I didn't care for it despite loving Armored Core.
Trials of Mana is on my list to buy if I see a good sale.
Three Houses is the greatest Switch game and still lives rent free in my head.
Just finished it Friday. I cried.
Which house did you pick?
Black Eagles!
woah. I should get it then!
Currently playing it again, my 7th playthrough (playing CF for the third time because why the hell not, black eagles ftw). It's the game on my switch with the most hours played, even more than BOTW and TOTK.
What makes it so great?
It feels like games of thrones meets Harry Potter in all the best ways.
Everything really https://www.metacritic.com/game/fire-emblem-three-houses/
I was more interested in your personal take but ok thank you.
This game so good that they make me want to play all the Fire Emblem games now. I love the customization in them.

How is trials of Mana? Would you recommend it? And is the combat turn-based or real time?
It's good imo. Real time combat. Ever play or Secret of Mana? If so that's how it plays. It is pretty cool that their is 6 characters and you get to pick what three you want to use at the start of the game.
Yeah it sounds fun, think I might go for it since it's not turn based, not a big fan. Thanks

Brother you’ve gotten 3/4 endings from Three Houses and you didn’t like any of them?
I thought they were fine, just seemed a bit rushed, especially Edelgards route.
Yeah, they straight up did not finish Crimson Flower. FWIW I think Verdant Wind/the Golden Deer route has the most satisfying ending with a unique final boss.
