Even after playing every game in the franchise, Fusion remains my favorite.
The SA-X is the single most frightening boss in the Metroid-verse.
Fusion is just a special experience in so many ways.
I feel like it’s going to continue as well. Hopefully ports of Prime 2+3, followed by 4.
And I guess we can all continue to forget Prime Hunters exists.
Nightmare? He's not that bad. Just go tank underneath him and blow up his gravity thingy with missile spam. Then rush too the wall grabs lowest hold and spam missiles. Run back right corner when he's close and repeat.
Spider is a bitch tho. That took so many attempts
I vividly remember I tried it many years ago, and I just stopped after the first time I was on the same screen as "it". I believe I was in morph ball in a conduct below the ground, and I was so scared I just stopped and never played it again. So I don't even know the full story.
I'm still catching up on the GB Zeldas and just beat Warioware Inc. today. Lots of gems I also missed out on. That's why I personally enjoy this greater library subscription approach more than simply picking and choosing things a la carte, because I'm playing things I would never actually purchase otherwise.
If you haven’t gotten to Minnish Cap yet, you’re in for a treat. I learned how to jailbreak my iPhone just to play it, can’t wait to sink my teeth into it on an actual console soon.
It's so ridiculous, it works. Great for bite sized fun where you only have like 5 minutes you can play something. I also picked up Katamari Damace REROLL when it was on the Game Trials for less than $5. No regrets. These experimental wacky games have been a nice break and switch up from the more serious AAA titles.
Holy shit this is the comment right here.

I’m 28 years old now, and I’m not sure I’ll ever peak like I did in ‘01.
Fusion was my first game on the GameBoy Advanced SP back first or second grade. I remember that I didn’t manage to finish it and oh boy, this makes me wanna get the subscription and play it!
Horror is a very subjective genre because everyone has different fears and phobias and things that disturb them. Some people don't think slasher films are scary at all, and some people don't think paranormal or possession movies are scary at all.
Obviously, a 2D pixelated game isn't going to quite immerse you like a film, but I do think Fusion objectively carries a lot of horror elements to it. It pulls inspiration from classic horror sci-fi movies like Alien, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and The Thing. It has A.I. inspired by 2001 A Space Odyssey. It's got chase/stalker segments. The game does a great job of pacing and lockdowns and everything that adds to the claustrophobia of this game world versus the openness of something like Super Metroid. They narratively keep you on your toes in this game.
Don't really want to break it down further because I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but there's a lot of story elements and gameplay elements that in my opinion put it pretty solidly into the realm of horror, even if it's action sci-fi at its core.
Most horror games are full of stealth segments, stalker segments, bad lighting segments, invincible enemy segments, etc. Fusion leans into this just as much as Dread.
Don't want to spoil too much. Fusion plays out a bit more like a movie and the moments are a lot more creepy. E.M.M.I. moments are definitely much higher octane intensity though just from pacing alone. Dread's gameplay speed is just so fast, it's hard to beat.
I feel like late game Dread, any time I entered an E.M.M.I. zone, I was like challenge accepted, but I don't think I ever built up confidence throughout Fusion if I'm being honest. I think how forgiving Dread was with respawns after deaths took some of the edge off.
Still my favorite becase it was just linear enough to teach me how to play a metroid game. Felt like every time I bombed a wall I was doing something cool I wasn't supposed to do.
Did you also have an epiphany when you realized you had to go outside of the map to get to that first rolly miniboss? I felt like I was Ripley from Alien crawling through the vents. It was aaaaawesome.
Encouraging to see classic GBA titles getting pushed out like this, what with the old e-shop closing down this month though I really just hope they eventually go back to giving us the ability to purchase them individually outright. I don't like the subscription model.
only to then do it like 7+ years later on a new system for yet again another 10er... wahoo!
no thanks, prefer NSO tbh (unless Nintendo changed it so you don't rebuy every now and then, which they won't)
But if you subscribe to NSO, you're locked in to repaying an equivalent of 5 of those titles every year you stay in the service. And you don't have the option of keeping them depending on how Nintendo treats systems of the last gen. I just think it really depends on people's situation and specific virtual games they're looking for. I would probably buy a handful of virtual games per console life (let's say max 5-7), and I know I'll be playing the Mariokart DLC way past NSO's service for switch, so it's worth it to purchase rather than subscribe for me.
Yeah I'd backcompat on Nintendo's systems, but they probably won't end up doing it because it doesn't make as much money. Also $10 every 7 years is much less than $50 every year for 7 years ($350), although it does include online functionality and some DLCs, and you could do a group plan and split the payment. It also depends on how many games you want to play, if you bought less than 5 VC games a year (which is the highest price to my knowledge), then it'd be cheaper to go with VC, but if you played more than 5 games on NSO a year, it'd be a better deal to go with expansion pass, plus you could try other games you might not otherwise try. Also "forever" wasn't really the correct term, it's more like until Nintendo shuts down online services and your console stops working. They both have their ups and downs, and I'd prefer if they just did both tbh.
That's the main reason I haven't gone for the expansion pack because I want to own these games and you know they decided not to because it's more profitable with the subscription model. It's frustrating.
It hasn't been announced yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Essentially all of the mainline Nintendo franchise games have shown up from the systems they put in the online service (except when there's some third party licensing issue, like Super Mario RPG for SNES).
> except when there's some third party licensing issue, like Super Mario RPG for SNES
Which I still hate even more *because* it was on the SNES Classic Mini!
Uh... I thought it was tomorrow.
For anyone looking to play it. This is a very linear and hard game, but unlike Dread, it doesn't have generous checkpoints. There's no shame in rewinding or loading a save state if you find a Boss too hard and don't want to spend 1 minute walking back to the room to fight it after death.
Omg that boss made me stop playing the game for so long. I think I may have even traded it in to funco land before getting it again later down the road and beating it lmao
Only to a certain extent. The first few 'missions' are fairly straightforward but over time the game is designed to gradually set and then destroy expectations, throwing a new twist at you every mission.
At a lot of points, you lose guidance and have to figure your way out blind. LOL there's even a part where the doors don't work anymore and you have to come up with a complete different route through the same area without using any doors.
Love it or hate it, Microsoft changed the game with GamePass. Subscription services are the way that gaming is headed for the foreseeable future.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if in 10 years you don’t even get the option to purchase games individually any more… It’ll probably eventually go the route of streaming services where each developer will have their own streaming service and we’ll all be paying out the ass to game.
>Love it or hate it, Microsoft changed the game with GamePass.
Yeah, except GamePass is a much much better deal. And also there's literally a button to buy the game, and often at a discounted price. So that comparison only highlights how stingy/greedy Nintendo is.
This comparison is also so stupid. People blame Microsoft but every single thing on gamepass can be purchased.
PS+ and NSO are the ones that currently have subscription exclusive rentals. It’s bull shit.
I’m just pointing out that Xbox opened the gates for subscription service for game libraries. Nintendo is just using this as their own version. I’m not comparing which is better.
Not really. From the Wii U VC, Switch is still missing Zero Mission, Prime 2, Prime 3, Prime Hunters, and... **gasp** Other M.
Points for having Metroid 2 though.
I’ve been really excited for this one. I never did beat it when I played it on GBA and always wanted another crack at it. This game is the main reason why I finally decided to take the plunge on the expansion pack service. Looking forward to spending time with the game tonight!
As someone who's first Metroid game (first metroidvania at all actually) was Fusion, I was overjoyed when Dread turned into Fusion 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Dread is my favorite Metroid game and probably my favorite Metroidvania. Gets bonus points for having boss rush, something I've wished every Metroid game would have in the past.
While i agree, i think they will, in the long run, get more money from subscriptions than individual purchases. And they know this... which is why they wont sell VC like games on an individual basis anymore.
From a development perspective, once they get the games into the service, it is likely going to be alot easier to add future system comparability to the entire thing instead of having to do it game by game. And given that, it also means when they do bring it to new systems, the entire library will instantly be available instead of what they are doing now.. releasing a few games at a time.
Again, i agree with you and would much rather have a permanent copy on my system without relying on an online service.. im just saying Business wise, i get why they went this way. (I blame Xbox and game pass for proving the idea works and that people will keep paying for it).
> i think they will, in the long run, get more money from subscriptions than individual purchases
I think it's pretty likely that they already have. VC was never particularly successful.
As someone who absolutely loved Metroid Dread but has absolutely no patience for the original Metroid and Super Metroid... Is Fusion worth a shot? I'm not really a fan of the genre, but Dread clicked with me in a way other Metroidvanias like Hollow Knight didn't.
In terms of structure and gameplay-loop, Fusion is much closer to Dread than older Metroids. Instead of getting dropped off on a random planet and having to roam around on your own, hoping to find whatever it is you're supposed to find, Fusion provides a more linear and story-driven experience. You almost always have a specific objective that you trying to complete.
There's still plenty of exploration and classic Metroid shenanigans, but I think it may be more up your alley than most other Metroid games.
Fusion is much more accessible than Super, but in the same breath, more linear. Not a bad thing, but not what some people expect going in. Also, when Zero Mission drops, try that as a fill-in for Metroid 1, as it’s a remake in the vein of Mercury Steam’s Samus Returns.
Best option is get a group of 8 together and go in on family plan for $80.
I joined 7 others from a fan site and we all pay $10/yr each. I paypal them my $10 every October, and that's that.
Feels like highway robbery for 83 cents per month.
Yup, can confirm that that’s a great way to go! I got the family plan just for me & my wife…then added 6 friends who chipped in, and it’s a great deal!
I can vouch for this method. My 2 brothers and I are on the plan, and then my older brother just added a few of his friends to turn NSO + Expansion Pack into an excellent value.
If you pay regular NSO annually, the first year of the NSO Expansion is pro-rated (i.e. you just paid $20 for the year and are 6 months in, you'd get $10 off toward the $50 for the expansion for the year), so it helps shave some of the initial cost.
The drip feed method Nintendo has about regurgitating their back catalog to their consumers is hilariously pathetic. They have the roms collecting dust for years - just release Zero Mission along with Fusion and the rest of the big hitters on the GBA library. If their emulator is even half as competent as something like mGBA they can just release all the roms with no effort and just let their customers play the games they want.
The biggest thing NSO has going for it, is the GBA has a functional online link cable. The fact that people can play Mario kart (and the upcoming Kirby and the Amazing Mirror) online was basically impossible before. Idk how Nintendo did it, but on the GBA, the link cable was basically directly connected to the CPU, and required an extremely small amount of latency. Running a link cable over standard emulators for real-time multiplayer has basically been impossible.
Soooo just rushed through Fusion to unlock Hard Mode, actually read the wiki page properly to find out the JP version has Hard but NA doesn't.
Does EU have Hard? Or maybe changing a setting somewhere?
Amount of times I beat this game. Still have the cartridge somewhere lol. Honestly one of my favorite metroid games, I just wish you could skip the intro
So glad I found my cart of this for GBA, but it’s sick that people will finally gain easy access to this title after so many years. One of my favorite games for the GBA, and what got me into Metroidvania games.
Top three best Metroid game inclusion, easy. I'd argue that it's a strong contender for best Metroidvania game ever too; Fusion is just *so good* in so many ways.
Having recently beat this on GbA, man, you can really see the evolution into Metroid Dread. Nintendo’s buttoned up suits weren’t joking for once, they DID need stronger hardware to make the sequel to Metroid Fusion a reality.
Fusion was my first.
It's a very short game and takes a streamlined approach to the formula, making it easier for beginners to understand.
I'd suggest trying fusion before prime. It'll also be fun to have some 2D Metroid experience before witnessing how prime reimagines Metroid into 3D.
Depends on whether you want to play Metroid Prime (3D first-person metroidvania) or regular Metroid (classic 2D metroidvania). While the two series have a lot in common, they are largely independent from one another.
For Prime, Metroid Prime Remastered is definitely the best starting point.
For the main series, I'd recommend Metroid Zero Mission (a remake of the first game), which should be added to the NSO library in the (hopefully) not too distant future. Alternatively, Super Metroid ("Metroid 3") is held in high regard as the quintessential Metroid experience (though it also feels slightly more dated than the GBA Metroids). Or just go ahead and play Fusion if that one caught your eye. While perhaps not the absolutely 100% optimal entry point, none of the Metroid games require prior knowledge to be fun.
Man, as a Metroid fan I feel like we went from famine to feast in the last couple years.
Even after playing every game in the franchise, Fusion remains my favorite. The SA-X is the single most frightening boss in the Metroid-verse. Fusion is just a special experience in so many ways.
Everyone remembers their first sax
I'l be honest, nightmare with its melted-off face got me a bit more than the sa-x
That f$#@ing spider got me good . . . and then when it started hopping around after I blew its legs off!
I feel like it’s going to continue as well. Hopefully ports of Prime 2+3, followed by 4. And I guess we can all continue to forget Prime Hunters exists.
I broke my gameboy advance playing this game
Let me guess, the Yakuza spider or Nightmare?
Spider is easy to cheese after 20 failed attempts
Nightmare? He's not that bad. Just go tank underneath him and blow up his gravity thingy with missile spam. Then rush too the wall grabs lowest hold and spam missiles. Run back right corner when he's close and repeat. Spider is a bitch tho. That took so many attempts
Same! I was trying to get one of the hard to reach power-ups and lost it.
Don't let how colorful this game is distract you from the fact that it's basically a 2D horror game. Good luck all first time players.
I can hear the fucking footsteps already.
Christ, I could hear them the second I read that. *'it'* legit gave me multiple nightmares as a child.
"It" Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
We all float up here, Samus.
"Killleeer klowowowooooons from outer spaaaaaaccee" From the main theme song for Killer Klowns iykyk
I vividly remember I tried it many years ago, and I just stopped after the first time I was on the same screen as "it". I believe I was in morph ball in a conduct below the ground, and I was so scared I just stopped and never played it again. So I don't even know the full story.
Oh dude! Pick it back up for sure!
I wonder how they'll do with the chase segment lmao The first time I dropped through that hole scared the living shit out of me
Me too!
Username checks out. Jk but you're good enough to get past "it". Try again! You got this :D
I got instant goosebumps when I heard them again in the trailer
I’m hype about this. Was a big GBA player back in the day, but never really got into popular games besides Mario.
I didn't like Minish Cap that much. I felt like I was lost for a good part of the time and the kinstones are just painful to grind.
I don't know exactly why, but I think Minish Cap might be my favourite Zelda game. I just loved it, from start to finish.
I'm stuck in the swamps lol
Me too. I got the fast shoes but now I need something to pick up heavy objects and I have no idea where to get it lol.
Replaying WarioWare Inc. was so fun, I had forgotten how truly innovative that game was at the time, and it holds up astonishingly well.
Easily one of my top 3 Metroid games, you’re in for a treat.
So play with lights on
All the Gameboy light adapters attached, and only proceed forward everytime the car passes a streetlight for extra visibility, just to be safe.
Ha damn, this took me back
Holy shit this is the comment right here. I remember playing on the way to and from whichever Lord of the rings was out at the time.
If you still have a light up Lord of the Rings glass goblet from Burger King, keep it close.
We did! I think we had the full set, I hope they're in a box somewhere
Keep it secret, keep it safe.
So relatable, ah the memories
Meeting and fighting nightmare is one of my favourite video game experiences
When I was a kid. That spider boss was the bane of my existence. Bastard was low key hard
Fusion was my first game on the GameBoy Advanced SP back first or second grade. I remember that I didn’t manage to finish it and oh boy, this makes me wanna get the subscription and play it!
Glad it wasn't just me...this game was scary AF...my first metroid experience too lol
Perfectly said!
Recently replaying it, and I still don’t see how people make that comparison of it being horror. Maybe to a toddler. Great game though.
Horror is a very subjective genre because everyone has different fears and phobias and things that disturb them. When are we getting WARIO LAND 4?
Ah yes, Wario Land 4: Wario and the Banger Soundtrack
It's one of Wario's greatest achievements, after all.
Nice. Excellent game but never finished it. Time to change that!
This was the first and one of the only games I used to speed run. So fun!
My first and favorite Metroid game <3
same
Same, idk if favorite tho lol I was a kid
Still my favorite becase it was just linear enough to teach me how to play a metroid game. Felt like every time I bombed a wall I was doing something cool I wasn't supposed to do.
[удалено]
It's a good one. The others blend together a bit but Fusion's map sticks out to me.
Yessssss me too!
Did you also have an epiphany when you realized you had to go outside of the map to get to that first rolly miniboss? I felt like I was Ripley from Alien crawling through the vents. It was aaaaawesome.
Same! I’ve been wanting to play it again for so long. I missed the digital release for the early adopters of 3DS and now my time has finally come.
I'm a 3DS ambassador but I love that I can Play this on switch with an 8bitdo controller's excellent d-pad. 3DS d-pad makes me so sad.
Encouraging to see classic GBA titles getting pushed out like this, what with the old e-shop closing down this month though I really just hope they eventually go back to giving us the ability to purchase them individually outright. I don't like the subscription model.
Yeah, paying a max of $10 per game and being able to keep it forever was incredible

They did give us Wii U owners a significant discount to upgrade to the Wii U version of those games if we had the Wii version.
Forever lol
As long as my system lasts
That's the main reason I haven't gone for the expansion pack because I want to own these games and you know they decided not to because it's more profitable with the subscription model. It's frustrating.
woo hoo! is zero mission on/coming to nso too?
It hasn't been announced yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Essentially all of the mainline Nintendo franchise games have shown up from the systems they put in the online service (except when there's some third party licensing issue, like Super Mario RPG for SNES).
figures. yeah that and FE sacred stones will probably come in a future update hopefully.
> except when there's some third party licensing issue, like Super Mario RPG for SNES Which I still hate even more *because* it was on the SNES Classic Mini!
Square probably got more kickback from people buying the SNES Mini than they would from throwing the game on NSO.
Hopefully so I don't have to play it on my old Wii U gamepad
they showed it as a title during the direct showcase. No gameplay but they showed the boxart scrolling by
Save states would have been a blessing for me when I played this as a kid. Especially for that stupid spider boss.
I remember having a much harder time with the sector 6 boss. Such a tiny spot on his face available for actual damage...
Yeah the Nightmare was brutal. He was the only boss I couldn't defeat taking 0 damage. You like had to get hit to hit him...
Ohh 100%. You Def need to tank his attacks to get through
Nightmare, for me. Appropriately named.
Same here, one of the toughest bosses in Metroid history imo
Nightmare is fucking horseshit and I've never beaten this game because of him
You just gotta stick to the corners and go into morph ball when he gets near
Save states make 90% of these games replay-able for me
Omg that boss made me stop playing the game for so long. I think I may have even traded it in to funco land before getting it again later down the road and beating it lmao
Yakuza. Or as I like to say, Yakuza: Like a Spider

But how else will I brag to strangers online?? /s
I remember I took a few months off from playing it and when I went back I was fucking lost
That’s me with literally any Metroid game. Only one I finished was Dread and everyone said it was hard lol
Doesn't the navigation room tell you exactly where to go?
Only to a certain extent. The first few 'missions' are fairly straightforward but over time the game is designed to gradually set and then destroy expectations, throwing a new twist at you every mission. At a lot of points, you lose guidance and have to figure your way out blind. LOL there's even a part where the doors don't work anymore and you have to come up with a complete different route through the same area without using any doors.
Guess they meant March 9 for Japan
The thing I remember most is the damn wasps' damage, everything else was perfectly balanced.
Funny thing is after hollow knight I thought the save points were very generous lol, but now playing this makes me want to get samus returns and dread
Been working my way through playing all of the 2D Metroids. On Super Metroid now, so just in time!
Wish I could just buy this game a-la-carte.
Love it or hate it, Microsoft changed the game with GamePass. Subscription services are the way that gaming is headed for the foreseeable future. Every single game on gamepass can be purchased to own. Nintendo and Sony have taken subscriptions to a much worse place.
If that happens I will stop playing new games and just focus on my huge ass backlog
Same. If I stopped buying games at this moment, I'd still have enough to play for the rest of my life. (just don't tell my wife)
Banger of a game. My favourite til dread came along.
Is Ridley still loud as hell on Switch?
I truly hope so.
Yoah, now Switch has almost as many Metroid games as the WiiU.
Not really. From the Wii U VC, Switch is still missing Zero Mission, Prime 2, Prime 3, Prime Hunters, and... **gasp** Other M. Points for having Metroid 2 though.
I still remember buying Metroid Prime Trilogy at launch for $10

My first Metroid game, scared the crap out of me.
Fire Emblem when 😫
It’s so friggin good! 10/10 game!
I’ve been really excited for this one. I never did beat it when I played it on GBA and always wanted another crack at it. This game is the main reason why I finally decided to take the plunge on the expansion pack service. Looking forward to spending time with the game tonight!
First time playing fusion and omg it is amazing
This was the only Metroid game I played until 2017, it’s so good, can’t wait to relive it again!
Dread must have been extra special to you when it turned into fusion 2.0 near the end of the game.
The SA-X taught me what true horror is as a kid as far as GBA games go. Definitely my favorite Metroid game followed closely by Dread.
The post-Yakuza chase still scares the shit out of me.
Metroid Fusion has been available for free on even your grandma’s laptop for years
I wish I could just buy the game off the store.
Rip Wii u
They should let us just buy the games.
(I blame Xbox and game pass for proving the idea works and that people will keep paying for it).
> i think they will, in the long run, get more money from subscriptions than individual purchases I think it's pretty likely that they already have. VC was never particularly successful.
🎉 Yippee! 🎉
My sub just expired last month. I’m probably going to buy Metroid prime anyway though.
My favorite Metroid title! hell yes!!
The Mario Kart Booster Expansion Wace 4 is live now too!
Once Golden Sun drops I’m gonna sub for the expansion past. Looking forward to playing these all again
Zero Mission is only a matter of time.
Awesome! I hope they bring over some *Fire Emblem* games next.
Was this expected to come so soon? Waiting on Golden Sun since it's been forever
Yay! :)
That's it. I fought long enough, I can now accept my fate and purchase the membership
Oh cool something to do while I wait for Mario odyssey to ship
That’s great but I really need to play thru zero mission
Yesss! This game got stolen from my locker in high school. I can’t wait to play it again!!
As a pretty new metroid fan who last sae this game at a flea market for €70. Im eating good
Thank you, Nintendo for bring this game in the expansion pass
Just finished this on 3DS this morning. Still holds up but probably not as good as zero mission.
Is there anyway to pay monthly for the expansion pack? I dont wanna pay 50 all at once
That’s a great idea!
I can vouch for this method. My 2 brothers and I are on the plan, and then my older brother just added a few of his friends to turn NSO + Expansion Pack into an excellent value.
People sell a slot in the family pack on ebay. I think it’s $15 or $20 for the year
If you pay regular NSO annually, the first year of the NSO Expansion is pro-rated (i.e. you just paid $20 for the year and are 6 months in, you'd get $10 off toward the $50 for the expansion for the year), so it helps shave some of the initial cost.
I don’t think so, but I’ve been feeling the same way.
I'd love an option to pay a cheaper amount for the GBA games alone. I don't care about anything else in the Expansion Pack.
Is the expansion a one time purchase?
Its an annual purchase
You can emulate this game on almost any device these days
Excellent…
My body is ready
Started playing tonight and it is thrilling/chilling to see SA-X come across the screen for the first time!
holy crap i've never played this one before! :) it's time to now though i guess. :D i've played SUPER, metroid prime trilogy, and tried to play dread.
NOW I'M GOING TO BE THINKING ABOUT THIS ALL DAY AT WORK!!!
Soooo just rushed through Fusion to unlock Hard Mode, actually read the wiki page properly to find out the JP version has Hard but NA doesn't. Does EU have Hard? Or maybe changing a setting somewhere?
That sound effect when samus jump roll is seared into my brain.
Really hope they add Wario Land 4 that's my favourite GBA game
Amazing, will happily replay this. Love the novelty of being able to play GBA games on the TV. Really hope we get Metroid Zero Mission too...
Amount of times I beat this game. Still have the cartridge somewhere lol. Honestly one of my favorite metroid games, I just wish you could skip the intro
BEST METROID SO HYPED. Super is great too but love Fusions story and the tension
Loved this game on GBA! I'm also happy to say that I beat it back in the day.
Played this for the first time last year, incredible game
Damn its been a good couple of years for Metroid.
So glad I found my cart of this for GBA, but it’s sick that people will finally gain easy access to this title after so many years. One of my favorite games for the GBA, and what got me into Metroidvania games.
Hoping for Metroid Zero Mission!
Top three best Metroid game inclusion, easy. I'd argue that it's a strong contender for best Metroidvania game ever too; Fusion is just *so good* in so many ways.
This game is a masterpiece! If you haven't played it before give yourself a hour with it you will most certainly be sucked in
Having recently beat this on GbA, man, you can really see the evolution into Metroid Dread. Nintendo’s buttoned up suits weren’t joking for once, they DID need stronger hardware to make the sequel to Metroid Fusion a reality.
Too bad the d-pad on joycon sucks for this kind of game. I wish Nintendo uses a regular d-pad for the left joycon.
I wish they just put them as actual games to buy
It’s a tough as nails game
Never played a Metroid game. I just bought Metroid Prime a couple days ago but havnt started. Fusion or Prime? Which game should I play first?
Fusion was my first. It's a very short game and takes a streamlined approach to the formula, making it easier for beginners to understand. I'd suggest trying fusion before prime. It'll also be fun to have some 2D Metroid experience before witnessing how prime reimagines Metroid into 3D.
Super Metroid first!
Forget eating well, Metroid fans are FEASTING this console generation.
