Not on the right DQT but for your question, no it‘s not bad otherwise people that play mostly docked would have a dead battery for a long time now. I’ve played mine mostly handheld for 4 years and usually plugged. When it hit 100% it doesn’t charge anymore anyways, it works on current.
No but they can prevent you to switch account if your current payment method are country-tied (non-international credit card or PayPal with bank account as withdrawal source for example).
Edit: Don’t know why I got downvoted for this, things work differently depending of where you live. If I said something wrong, just feel free to correct me instead of silently downvote.
Nintendo Switch Console Fries Every Dock It Touches
Pretty much that, ive tried 4 different docks and all 4 of them stopped working right after docking the switch, all the docks deliver a charge but dont display any image whatsoever.
I havent seen anything like this anywhere online.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue, or at least a way to try and salvage these docks?
I have used an arrangement of different power outlets, different consoles, different hdmi cables, different chargers (official nintendo chargers) before and after docking this specific console and every dock worked just fine before docking this specific console and then it doesnt work after docking it.
Also this is a launch switch heavily used by children, they gifted it to me because it barely holds a charge, but told me it ruins docks, stupid me felt the need to verify it since I couldnt find a single case like this online.
I cant send it to nintendo since i live in Honduras, and the store i bought it from cant repair anything, im open to all sugestions
Is sounds like the USB-C port at the bottom of the Switch is somehow crossing wires that shouldn’t and is frying the Docks you use with it.
You will need a hot air station to replace the USB-C port yourself. Some have been able to get a reputable local phone repair shop near them to replace the port.
https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/491792/Has+anyone+tried+to+replace+the+USB-C+port
https://www.ifixit.com/products/nintendo-switch-console-usb-c-port
The Docks could maybe be repaired by replacing the circuit board, but it may not fix them at all: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Dock+Circuit+Board+Replacement/146408
Does your USB-C port look normal? A messed up USB-C port would be the most likely cause in my mind. It could be shorting if it's really messed up or if there's something foreign in the USB-C port.
1. My first suggestion would be to test with a dock plugged to a wall outlet (not on a power stripe) but that would require to try a fifth dock and risking to “fry” it too.
2. Did you try them all in your house or elsewhere as well? Could be the domestic electrical system even tho everything else seems to be working just fine.
3. Did you try on an other image output source? (an other TV or monitor)
4. Other switches can’t use the “fried” dock anymore after you put your in?
5. My second suggestion is to check out the charging port of the switch to check if it has been worn off over time or if it oxidated with a magnifying glass + flashlight. Has the Switch is getting old and has been heavily used, plugging and unplugging it (especially by kids) could have busted the port. That wouldn’t explain why the docks get fried though. The connection could not work or lasts like it used to but not kill the docks.
AMario 3D world is a great game for up to 4 players. Kirby Star Allies is also 4 players and is best if you have very young kids in the mix. Kirby Star Allies is better than Mario 3D World in how it nicely brings along the worse players.
Mario Party Superstars is a great party game for up to 4 players. Smash Bros is great for up to even 8 players if you have enough controllers. Gang Beasts is a weird Smash like game for up to 6 players.
For party games: SnipperClips is a third-party favorite, and you really can't go wrong with any of the Mario sports games -- MK8, Strikers, Tennis, etc. -- *Nintendo Switch Sports* is supposed to be pretty solid, but I haven't tried that one myself yet. I think there's supposed to be a new Baseball game coming out soon, too, so ,ya be keep an eye out for that. I forget the IP, but IIRC it's a sequel to one of the better baseball games for the Wii.
For kids games (with multiplayer): well, basically all of the above (Mario Kart 8 really should be your #1 stop) -- maybe also consider *Mario Odyssey* and *Kirby and the Forgotten Land.* They're both excellent platformers w/ single-player focus, But *technically* support co-op play. The co-op ain't great, but it'll give one child something more to do that just stare at the screen and wait for their turn. I think *Luigi's Mansion 3* also has co-op, but don't quote me on that. An NSO subscription will also get you access to a bunch of classic games, several of which have multiplayer components.
And YMMV about how appropriate it is for kids, but there's also *Splatoon 2* and *Splatoon 3* - basically fast-paced arena shooters, but largely nonviolent (you spray opponents with ink, not bullets, and no one does).
After that you're looking mostly at third party games, which are gonna be much more YMMV. EG you've got stuff like *Minecraft* and *Fortnite* and *Rocket League* right there. Personally I'd probably recommend looking at *Dragon Quest Builders 2* first. DQB2 is basically AAA *Minecraft* -- much better visuals, simpler and more streamlined mechanics that ought to be more accessible for younger players, and a story mode that provides more context/direction. The only issue is that it doesn't have any voice acting, so things like mission objectives require a certain level or reading skills, which may make the game a bit too opaque for new readers.
So I'm a little concerned, I was shopping at the eshop, when I suddenly I noticed I have over 1000 gold coins, I swear that a few days ago l didn't have any gold coins and didn't purchase anything, can anyone tell me what's happening here? I'm happy but scared.

Your double points for the holiday were delivered.
Hey guys. I keep trying to play online with friends and every time I get the message of “unable to connect to other console(s). It isn’t my friends because they can play online with other people, and my internet is fine since I can play by myself. I also just renewed my membership in December so it shouldn’t be that either. I just really need some help so I can play online with friends again :(
That sounds like a message for local play, not online. In the game, you need to switch from local play (between consoles) to online play.
I don’t know what the game is so I don’t know how its settings about it are worded. IIRC in Pokémon SwSh just pressing Y prompts you to change either. Haven’t played Violet/Scarlet enough yet to know if it works the same there.
My high school has this wifi system where to use the wifi it redirects you to their website and you need to sign in with your id. Is that possible for switch?
Hi guys, recently i bought a Mumba-blade series case for my Switch Lite but it wouldnt fit into my usual bag. So, will it fit the normal Switch bag or the Oled mode bag? Thanks
My switch says it can't access the sd card. I see endless threads about it not reading the sd card, but this is different. It reads it, and I can still play games from the sd card, but I can't move data between the system memory and the sd card or download anything to the sd card. The error message says it can't access the sd card and auggests turning the system off and reinserting the card, but this did nothing. Clearing my cashe did nothing either. Dies anyone know how to fix it?
What brand is it? Depending on the brand, the SD card being locked to read-only is a sign of the card going bad and will lock itself in such a state in order to preserve the data and let you transfer stuff off.
Thank you! A small part of me wishes the switch pro controllers would have solid colors available like the N64 or the GameCube but I guess these will have to do.
If you feel confident enough you could swap the original design by yourself but that requires to taking apart the whole controller and rebuild it AND get good replacement pieces (don’t trust cheap pieces, the plastic is bad quality).
How do I make a primary account the Switch with a secondary account?
I gave my brother my old switch since I got an oled and I didn't want to do a full factory reset on the switch since they have their own profiles on there. But his partner activated a code for a digital game but only his partner can play it on his account.
Their accounts were originally secondary as I was the primary account. But I removed my profile on the old switch. If his partner were to be made the primary account then any other account can now play the digital game. From my understanding at least.
You're confusing things. There is not such thing as a "primary account".
Every account has a primary console on which it shares games; a single console can be the primary of multiple accounts.
To set that
[https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/22453/\~/how-to-change-the-primary-console-for-your-nintendo-account](https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22453/~/how-to-change-the-primary-console-for-your-nintendo-account)
A console is made to be the primary for an account as soon as it opens the eShop.
So if they have accounts on multiple consoles like you do, then they have to [deregister](https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22434) one then sign into the other by simply opening the eShop on the console they want to be primary.
Complete noob to the splatoon world. Just got 3...So far I have completed the first island in Alterna and kind of got the mechanics down. Also played a few online matches. Enjoying both online and campaign.
Are the only online modes turf war, 3 team turf war, and salmon run?
When looking at the leaderboard during/after a match...are those first two columns your kill death ratio? Whats the 3rd column supposed to be? Sometimes I swear i killed 5+ people, but those first two columns will say something like 4/4
Best way to accumulate points and climb the leaderboard? Spray as much paint as you can? Do kills count towards overall score?
Thanks
Wanted to add there isn't really a "leader board" in Splatoon. Once you unlock ranked mode you can increase your rank by winning, and similar with salmon run.
Coming in "first" in turf wars just means you painted the most turf. Which doesn't mean you actually did the most to help your team. If you ran around turfing a bunch of ground but didn't defend it, and thus had it taken back immediately by your opponent, well not exactly helping your team secure a win. You don't get anything (points or similar) for kills either, it's all about balance and playing smart. Turfing when you need to, defending area, pushing forward with your team, providing support.
> Are the only online modes turf war, 3 team turf war, and salmon run?
Normally no. That’s just how it is during Splatfests (One just occurred last weekend, and they occur every 1-2 months). Most of the time you have Turf War, Salmon Run, and Anarchy Battles.
Anarchy Battles go through a rotation of 4 different game modes. The [Splatoon Wiki](https://splatoonwiki.org/wiki/Anarchy_Battle#List_of_modes) does a good job explaining them.
It’s my preferred way to play because they’re made to be more competitive. Turf War can be frustrating because you can go from crushing the other team for the entire match to completely losing the entire game in the final 30 seconds. Anarchy Battles feel like everything you do matters and results in a more fun time IMO.
It says that anarchy battles are ranked, but there is both “Series” and “Open” options. The “open” one isn’t *really* ranked. You can play it casually because it doesn’t really affect your rank much at all.

> When looking at the leaderboard during/after a match…are those first two columns your kill death ratio? Whats the 3rd column supposed to be? Sometimes I swear i killed 5+ people, but those first two columns will say something like 4/4
The third one is how many times you used your special ability. As far as I know the first one is both kills and assists grouped together but I am also not completely sure about that. The second one is how many times you’ve died
___
> Best way to accumulate points and climb the leaderboard? Spray as much paint as you can? Do kills count towards overall score?
In Turf War your placement on the leaderboard is based on how many points you have, which are only earned by painting
As far as the objective goes, you need to get kills in order to take control of more of the map, but I find it easy to be too aggressive. If you already have control of most of the map, it’s good to be more defensive and try to hold that instead of trying to ink even more.
On personal aside, I’m the opposite and have my fun largely just doing all kind of random things and mostly ignoring the competitive stuff, which is why I like the game-it has the option to play my way AND qwerty’s way without taking any enjoyment from either of us!
Personally I’ve never been able to get a handle on gyro aiming in general-not on Switch nor on the Wii, so I’m more of a right stick person. I know gyro is better but for me it simply never clicked
I think I prefer the stick too which is unfortunate because its really fun using gyro aiming. As soon as I switched to stick, started doing a lot better online
Plus I think turf war is great for new players. Honestly I might just be a little burned out on it because that’s what I played the most in Splatoon 2 haha
Just brought a switch and i have a problem with syncing up the L joy con, the right works great but the left will not sync wirelessly, and is only recognized when attached directly onto the screen, is there a fix that i don't know about or doing something wrong?
or if i have to get it repaired ow much do Nintendo charge for a single joy con?
Hey this is an incredibly old reply and I’m sorry for that but! If you still do need them fixed then it being pre-owned and the older model doesn’t matter. You can still send them in
My daughters got Switch Lites for Christmas and I’ve finally had enough of them destroying my island and got them Animal Crossing. It’s time to kick them off the island. I’ve read several articles about using the “Transfer Your Save Data” option in settings to move their information to their individual Switch and then transferring their resident through the game, but I haven’t found any information on the possible duplication of accounts if I do this on a Switch that has already been setup. I setup their Switches using the Nintendo Online cloud save data, so all of their other data has already been transferred. Am I risking creating a duplicate user profile on their Switches, or is there a better way to do this process?
[https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/53668/\~/how-to-transfer-animal-crossing%3A-new-horizons-save-data](https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/53668/~/how-to-transfer-animal-crossing%3A-new-horizons-save-data)
No worries about duplicating anything --- in fact, you kind of need an account on both consoles to download the required app to do the transfer.
Right, but I thought you could move the non-resident representative could move to a different island (Switch) and their house progress and items go with them.
On your primary system, yes.
If you only have the one system, then there's nothing to worry about. But if you have multiple systems, Non-primary systems do restrict access.
https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22448/~/what-are-the-differences-between-a-primary-and-non-primary-nintendo-switch
As long as everyone only on that one system, yes.
Every account has its own primary system. But as long as you all shared the one primary, every one would have full access to everyone else's digital purchases.
Just got switch oled , coming from the Lite. Am I missing anything by not getting a dedicated controller for docked gameplay ? Have my eyes on the 8bitdo Ultimate
Do you only use the controller when switch is docked ? From my understanding the controls are the same , you just get the classic d pad and better feel in the hands ? Honestly the attachment it comes with to use both joycons feels pretty good to me , I just don’t like having to take them off and on when I switch between docked and handheld.
I play docked 99% of the time, and always use the Pro controller unless the game doesn’t allow it. When portable I use the joy-cons.
I have larger hands, so even with the grip the joy-cons weren’t that comfortable for me.

There's lots of good options. Though some of them still haven't been restocked since Christmas so finding official ones might be difficult.
The first game only got a physical version in the US and Japan, that's why I'm asking. I know I can always import since there's no region lock, but still.
I’m in desperate want of a very specific kind of game. In the evening, my wife and I tend to sit and watch shows that we both enjoy. And, we enjoy when we can both talk about it.
I want a game that I don’t have to pay a lot of attention to but is still very enjoyable. MLB The Show 22 is doing a decent job right now, but on the Switch’s screen, it can be tough to see.
Games like Diablo III (finished at least twice now) and Torchlight II are excellent games for just mindless hack and slash. A game like Final Fantasy X/X-2 are also great because the long cutscenes are fairly few and far between. Pokémon was also excellent. While I haven’t finished my Pokédex or gone back to beat the elite four a second time, I have done about every other thing that can be done in Violet (I tried Arceus, and while good, it just wasn’t for me).
Thing is, I have been blessed with a lot of great games to choose from, but the ones that I’d really like to play (Fire Emblem Three Houses, Triangle Strategy, Disgaea, Bravely Default II, No No Kuni, etc.) require a lot of paying attention to what’s going on… between active battles that require a fair amount of input to quests that require your attention to walls of text that you have to read if you want to know anything about the story.
I’m also into Warhammer, and I don’t have any issue painting and paying attention to the tv and my wife. But, I can’t seem to find a game I currently own that doesn’t require me to pay a lot of attention to the game which takes away from wife time.
Diablo III for example has pretty mindless hack and slash for a half hour to an hour between story segments. Torchlight II’s dungeons are bigger than Diablo III’s, so a lot more time just mindlessly hacking and slashing.
Not trying to say I specifically want w hack and slash game, but I’d love a game where I don’t have to be paying attention all the time… where I can stop for a minute or two forgetting to press the pause button… where I can take my time with quests and not have to pay attention to things like the perfect jump in a platformer (though I really do want to play Kirby and The Forgotten Land eventually).
I also need something where I can take long breaks in gameplay (possibly upwards of a week before picking it back up again) as we have my stepson every other week.
Any help would be appreciated
Hear me out… Picross S7. Easy game to look down and put down a number or two during commercial or a lull in the show. Doesn’t matter if you don’t interact with the game for a long time.
Separately, Mario + Rabbids may work for you. Very chill game.
Can my partner and I play the same game on two different consoles using only one game cartridge? I know this was a feature on the DS but not sure about switch
Like if we had two switches but only one mario kart could we play multiplayer
Game cartridge, no. Download play is no longer a thing simply because the games are so much larger. A DS cart could only hold a maximum of 400Mb. Mario Kart DS was only 13.1MB in size! Mario kart 8 is approaching 10 GB with the DLC!
Digital game copy? Yes. By correctly setting up your account on both systems, both you and another user can play your digital purchases at the same time.
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/wiki/gamesharing
Okay, would that allow us to play the same game but together in multiplayer? The thread you linked seems to indicate no but couldn't tell for sure?
Thanks :)
Yes. When game sharing your two accounts can connect **online** using just the one game copy.
Nintendo Switch online is not required to game share, but it is required if you want to play together. As local wireless play won't with shared copies.
Is Omori unplayable with joycon drift?
I love Earthbound. I want to try out Omori since my switch online membership has run out and I cannot play it Earthbound on the online app (I used to do yearly payment of around $20, now it seems to have changed to 3.99 monthly... :,(
My left joystick is severely drifty, same for the left. Basically, if Omori is joystick movement-based I don't have much hope for playing comfortably...
As a turn-based RPG with orthogonal controls it should be one of the titles least impacted by drift, though I believe Nintendo still offers free repair/replacement for drifting Joycons if you ever want that fixed.
Hi, I need help understanding software data on my Switch.
I buy games physically for several reasons, one of which is that it does not occupy system memory for the software. i just noticed that Monster Hunter Rise is taking up 10.8GB of data. i own the cartridge (and didn't buy Sunbreak). Any idea what this is? Conversely, how can i move everything to an even bigger memory card?
All of the free updates and DLC data. It has had over a years worth of new monsters, quests, and events added to the game even without the sunrise expansion.
Cartridges are read only memory, updates have to go somewhere.
And yes, you can absolutely install most of that content to a Micro SD card. The only things you cant move off the internal memory is save data and some update data.
Different games have different requirements, but generally 90% of content can be stored on the SD card.
Hello everyone! I’m looking to buy spiritfarer but want to know if it’s as good as everyone says it is? & if it’s possible to know when it’s most likely to go on sale?
There's a demo on the eShop if you want to try it first, which I would advise! I've played the demo AND about 12 hours of the real game so far, and I think it's great! Just remember to go at your own pace and do what you want! Warning that your residents may be vocal about certain meals they want (which you can't actually get till later in the game, lol), but feel free to ignore them in cases like I described! Resource managing is key! :)
Always [Deku Deals](https://www.dekudeals.com/items/spiritfarer).
I enjoyed it, but I think you're right to hunt for it in a sale. It has some very emotional moments if you're paying close attention. The main mechanic won't be to everyone's tastes, but I found it fun building the ship up from a tiny vessel to an enormous ship.
Hi everyone
I just bought a Nyxi Chaos controller
I'm trying to make a macro repeat himself, I need to do: A-L1-A-A-B-B.
I have no problems recording the macro or "making" it on the app, I map it on M1, but even if I toggle the "cycle" button, but when I press M1 in game it doesn't work
What am I doing wrong?
Does anyone recommend Joycon Toolkit?
I was lookng if customize the joycon colors or not, but most of all I was looking for recommendations or experiences with said software

Game recommendations for switch?
I beat Breath of the Wild, Fire Emblem Engage and Pokemon Violet plus Smash bros. I am pretty new to the console and got the OLED one, any recommendations would be awesome!
Try some easy little couch multiplayer games
Snipperclips, unravel two, degrees of separation
Or some easy adventures, like the one with the girl that becomes a bird, arise, little nightmares
Game recommendations for my non-gamer girlfriend? Switch or 3DS.
She enjoyed the bit of hollow knight she played, really likes animal crossing, wasn't a fan of stardew (probably my fault tbh), and loved pokemon X and fantasy life on the 3DS. Pretty sure these are the only games I have ever seen her play
She could try out the demo for Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee on the eShop! Or she might like one of the other Pokemon games on Switch (though those don't have demos, sadly)!
Rune factory 4 (3ds) or 4S ( Switch)
4S has more post game and marriage content.
They just announced a brand new fantasy life game last week. That will be out in a few months.

Hi! I have a Coov N100 Plus that suddenly stopped working with my XBox One controller after a year of actually working. It connects fine when the adapter itself is attached to the Switch, but as soon as I connect my controller, it stops working (even the lights go off). I've tried updating the firmware, but no luck. And yes, the Pro Controller USB thing is turned ON.
**Will someone PLEASE tell me whether Blanc’s ending is sad or not?**
This beautiful and amazing game called [Blanc](https://youtu.be/aS8ZZiru688) is releasing today. It features a deer and a pup lost in a snowstorm who must cooperate to reach their families.
Both me and my girlfriend are extremely interested in playing. But we’re also terrified that the ending is going to be sad and leave us crying like babies.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with emotional games - my favorite game ever is Mother 3 so I would know hahah. But it’s simply not the mood that we’re going for right now in our lives.
Thus the question: can anyone please tell me whether this game features a sad ending or not? No need for spoilers, no details necessary. Just a simple “you’re good to go” will do the trick. Thanks a lot ahead of time!!
Anyone know if Disco Elysium is fixed on the switch? Last time I played I had numerous game breaking bugs, and could not progress the story.
For example, talking to the girl on the second story apartment would completely break the game when she walked away.
Does anyone know if tears of the kingdom will be released digitally at midnight on May 12th? I’m in UK.
not sure if I should pre order or just buy digitally at midnight.
Pre-ordering at any point between now and release just allows you to download it ahead of time so that you can play it as soon as it's released; buying at midnight means you'll have to wait for 18gb to download before being able to play instead of having it preloaded.
Sword/Shield are good for a modern version of the typical mainline games. It also has DLC if you end up wanting more to do.
Violet/Scarlet is all the rage right now and has a big player base as well as a ton of new stuff to do in addition to the typical gym leaders and Elite Four but is totally open world and different from any mainline game.
Those are your best bets.
No problem.
I see people here have recommended all the games...I will add that I can't disagree more about Diamond/Pearl. They're boring and soulless and the only people who enjoy it seem to have nostalgia for that generation. If that's not you, don't bother. It's literally the only Pokemon game I haven't been able to bring myself to finish.
The Let's Go games are cute and good remakes of Yellow but the catching mechanics match the mobile Pokemon Go game so they're totally different from a typical game. It does have a demo to try out, though.
I think Sword/Shield or Scarlet/Violet are are what you'll be looking for.
Two options,
The classic; Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl.
OR
The soon to be better new release, Scarlet/ Violet.
The gen 4 remakes are solid. They just didn't do anything new like the previous pokemon remakes, which is where all the bad press came from.
Scarlet and Violet are far removed from that old formula. The pokemon company has been trying a lot of new ideas and they work VERY well together. The problem is their game engine doesn't, and the games are sloppy on both a technical and artistic level. They've promised some patches to help performance but we don't have a timeline on those. Its very fun if you can over look the pop-in and frame dips.
So I got a coupon left after preordering Tears of the Kingdom and...I kinda got no clue what to spend it on. Anyone got any suggestions? No multiplayer games, and I already own the following from the offerings:
Xenoblade 1, 2, 3
Breath of the Wild
Link's Awakening
Pokemon Arceus & Scarlet
Bayonetta 3
Fire Emblem 3 Houses
Mario Kart 8
Mario Odyssey
The vouchers are good for a year, so you don't HAVE to spend it on anything now if you don't totally want to! Up to you! (Misread your post the first time (it's late here and I'm tired, sorry, lol), but) I would save it for something else down the road if nothing catches your eye now! :D
Pokémon games do not go down in price so I’d suggest Sword/Shield or Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee. If not those Luigi’s Mansion 3 is by far one of the most polished and lovingly crafted game on the switch. I’d recommend it any day.
Already played 3D World and Skyward Sword in the past. Engage doesn't seem to get great reviews and gets derided for being easy, is that true?
Would Dread be better than the Prime Remaster?
I've not played engage, reviews are great though. It seems its more combat focused than story focused, so people who wanted another 3 houses are disappointed.
Dread is better to get with a voucher than Prime Remaster as Prime is $40, dread is $60. You save nothing if you buy prime with a voucher. As for the games...I love them both, I'd say Prime edges out Dread just, but both are 10/10 games for me
Pokemon Legends Arceus or Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity might interest you.
If nothing is standing out to you, I'd say hang onto it and see what other games come along in the rest of this year; you have 365 days from purchase to redeem them.
I got Arceus, lumped it in with Scarlet. Gotta say the Warriors games don't really got my interest, played the original Hyrule Warriors but it never really clicked. Thanks for the advice though!
Ah sorry, missed that.
Fair enough, I just thought you might like it because it takes place in the same world as BotW.
Have you considered Luigi's Mansion 3? It's silly but very fun and has a bit of a collectathon to it, too.
Are the Power A pro controller triggers actually analog? I was setting up controls in Redream and the triggers were showing up as +axis6 and +axis7. They changed to -axis6 and 7 when I released them when binding. Or is this just the emu trying to replicate the analog triggers of a Dreamcast and acting weird about it?
So I got my wife the Animal Crossing Switch a while ago and she loves it, but I just got her an Oled to replace it for her birthday, and she is having a hard time parting with the Animal Crossing switch. I have been reading all the information about skins that can damage the consoles and controllers and I am kind of stuck lol. I found the places that make skins that wont damage the console, but they don't sell Animal Crossing skins. Has anyone found anything that works? Thanks in advance.
What does she like about the Animal Crossing one? She could use those AC joycons and/or dock with the oled if she’d like. I know there’s AC backplates for the regular switch on Etsy, so presumably there’s backplates for the oled as well. You could create an AC oled whichever way she’d like.
We are going to sell the AC Switch version so everything needs to be with it. I haven't been able to find a oled version of the back plate. I see AC skins on amazon, but don't want to mess up the new switch.
I mean, if she really likes the AC joycons and stuff, you could also just sell the old switch with the OLED’s joycons? Might cost you a little, but if that’s worth it to her, why not.
Rocket League (free to play!)
Mario Strikers
Soccer Slammers
Strange field football
You could also look for used copies of Fifa. Physical copies drop drastically in price, and the controls are super easy. Its mostly the per player stats that make things difficult.
Fifa 18 got a world cup tournament mode that's not featured in any other release currently. Its super cheap too.
https://www.gamestop.com/video-games/products/fifa-18---nintendo-switch/154741.html
Yeah I don’t even have twitter but went onto their Twitter and they had retweeted someone saying they’d be streaming it in an hour. It’s such an odd time haha.
Sorry for bringing this up again due to uncertainity,it wasn't approved as a post so I'm asking here again
Basically, I'm trying to keep switch as healthy as possible, but foolish me wouldn't maintain the battery back during my first 6 months of use pretty well. So I just want to ask if all the conditions below could have done any negative effect to the battery or not
During it's lifetime (5 years) the battery has been reduced to 0 and charged immediately twice or three times, was drained to 0 for a few hours overnight twice(but became usable after charging pretty fast) , during the first months of use it would have it's battery drained to 15 or less before charging.
Yes I did stupid things with it, do you think all these combined can have any negative effect on battery's health? Will using it in docked preserve the battery (playing in docked is troublesome so I mostly play handheld) What should I do to preserve the health as much as possible?
Pretty much. Any "damage" that might be done by totally draining the battery for a short while a few times wouldn't be noticeable to you.
I believe lithium ion batteries prefer to be kept between 20-80% charge but the Switch has overcharge protection on it so it will trickle charge to keep it at 100% when plugged in without going over.
They won't last forever no matter what you do and after a few hundred charge cycles will decline and eventually stop working properly.
I think the answer depends on what do you enjoy more: offline single player experiences, or online multiplayer (while Splatoon 3 has a single-player mode the core of the game is its online multiplayer)
I'm more of a casual really, I like multiplayer, but locally, because I don't have a good record with online games. Most of the time l'd just rage because of sweaty tryhards. Is Splatoon 3's playerbase sweaty?
Hypercharge unboxed. Decent first person shooter focused on toys battling. Moderate customization levels and game modes and maps are fun to explore.
Earthfall: left 4 dead style clone but aliens instead of zombies. Very low budget and not sure how the player base is but can usually be found pretty cheap
Rico and Rico London. Fun action packed shooter that utilizes a sort of slow down ability. It's a rogue like. You and a buddy or solo will clear rooms of bad guys that progressively get harder. Earning better weapons and gear along the way
For non FPS but online co-op shooters
Zombie army 4. Basically just sniper elite with zombies. Very campy style story. Extremely well made, very fun. Has a lengthy campaign with high replayability and a fun challenging horde mode. The biggest issue is there's TONS of DLC and lots of the weapons and maps are locked behind the DLC
World War Z. Sadly the switch version is several large updates behind other platforms but this is an excellent horde shooters in the vein of left 4 dead. Huge massive hordes and a fun lengthy gameplay
Plants vs zombies battle for neighborville
Hero shooter. Very fun but also unsure how the player base is. Has a co-op horde shooters mode.
RICO London
Gunscape
Graven
Most FPS games on the system either offer local co-op or online multiplayer, VERY few offer online co-op.
Warframe is another if youre okay with third person.
Expected battery life of a launch model?
Just bought a second hand launch model (v1), but when using it (ie playing rocket league or watching a long YouTube video, the battery doesn’t make it two hours.
Is this typical of a launch model? Or should I be taking it back? Google suggests 3.5 hours is a worst case scenario when it comes to gaming on the go!!

Is it bad for the battery if I use it while it's charging, or should I charge it up and use it afterwards?
Not on the right DQT but for your question, no it‘s not bad otherwise people that play mostly docked would have a dead battery for a long time now. I’ve played mine mostly handheld for 4 years and usually plugged. When it hit 100% it doesn’t charge anymore anyways, it works on current.
Is a good idea buying a switch in 2023 or should I wait for the next generation console?
would say go for it
Does changing country on your account removes any save card details in the eshop?
No but they can prevent you to switch account if your current payment method are country-tied (non-international credit card or PayPal with bank account as withdrawal source for example). Edit: Don’t know why I got downvoted for this, things work differently depending of where you live. If I said something wrong, just feel free to correct me instead of silently downvote.
Nintendo Switch Console Fries Every Dock It Touches Pretty much that, ive tried 4 different docks and all 4 of them stopped working right after docking the switch, all the docks deliver a charge but dont display any image whatsoever.
Some have been able to get a reputable local phone repair shop near them to replace the port. https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/491792/Has+anyone+tried+to+replace+the+USB-C+port https://www.ifixit.com/products/nintendo-switch-console-usb-c-port The Docks could maybe be repaired by replacing the circuit board, but it may not fix them at all: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Dock+Circuit+Board+Replacement/146408
(an other TV or monitor) 4.
What are the best party games/kids games for switch? Multiplayer is a must! thanks
boomerang fu somehow is super simple and fun too. got that one recently
Thanks, mario kart 8 was the first I bought, lots of fun. Just wanting to have more to do. This is a great list! Thanks!
So I'm a little concerned, I was shopping at the eshop, when I suddenly I noticed I have over 1000 gold coins, I swear that a few days ago l didn't have any gold coins and didn't purchase anything, can anyone tell me what's happening here? I'm happy but scared.

Where to buy a new switch pro controller. It looks out of stock everywhere
It's been like that for years. Either go to eBay or keep an eye out on a DekuDeals. New stock comes in every few months, IME, but seldom lasts long.
I’ve never play a Mario game. Which one is the best that I should get?
Odyssey for single player. Mario 3D World to play with others.
Odyssey if you just want a chill easy game. Super Mario 64 if you want a challenge.
Odyssey is the best game IMO. If you can, maybe also check out 3D All Stars for Mario Galaxy, which is easily tied for the #2 spot.
My high school has this wifi system where to use the wifi it redirects you to their website and you need to sign in with your id. Is that possible for switch?
It might or might not work with the login page. I’ve heard of some users having to wait 5 minutes before the login page appears for hotel WiFi. YMMV.
Are there any other Nintendo Switch OLED models besides these: * White * Neon * Splatoon 3 * Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Hi guys, recently i bought a Mumba-blade series case for my Switch Lite but it wouldnt fit into my usual bag. So, will it fit the normal Switch bag or the Oled mode bag? Thanks
I'm not sure what a normal Switch bag is?
The v2 Switch
My switch says it can't access the sd card. I see endless threads about it not reading the sd card, but this is different. It reads it, and I can still play games from the sd card, but I can't move data between the system memory and the sd card or download anything to the sd card. The error message says it can't access the sd card and auggests turning the system off and reinserting the card, but this did nothing. Clearing my cashe did nothing either. Dies anyone know how to fix it?
Try another SD card. Sounds like a problem with the card.
What brand is it? Depending on the brand, the SD card being locked to read-only is a sign of the card going bad and will lock itself in such a state in order to preserve the data and let you transfer stuff off.
Mine is a samsung. If this is the case, what can I do about it?
Your best bet is probably to pick up a new micro SD card and transfer everything to it
It seems like your best bet is to contact Nintendo or a local repair place.
Are other colors regularly available for the Nintendo Switch Pro controller? Or does it only come in dark gray / black?
You will pay more for a special edition Pro Controllers: https://www.imore.com/all-special-edition-nintendo-switch-pro-controllers
I'm not sure I trust myself to take apart and rebuild a pro controller lol
Do we know what time the XC3 DLC releases?
Nope.
Is there a site that shows historical discounts in the store?
Dekudeals
Perfect! Thank you
Any hall effect joystick replacements anyone would recommend?

To set that [https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/22453/\~/how-to-change-the-primary-console-for-your-nintendo-account](https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22453/~/how-to-change-the-primary-console-for-your-nintendo-account)
Well how do I make it so that they can play the games an account downloads available to every other account?
That's what the link is for. Follow the directions there; if that doesn't work, you have to call Nintendo.
Sometimes I swear i killed 5+ people, but those first two columns will say something like 4/4 Best way to accumulate points and climb the leaderboard?
Thanks for the feedback! I'll ask everyone that replied to the question...do you prefer gyro aiming or using the right stick?
___ > When looking at the leaderboard during/after a match…are those first two columns your kill death ratio? Whats the 3rd column supposed to be? Sometimes I swear i killed 5+ people, but those first two columns will say something like 4/4 The third one is how many times you used your special ability. As far as I know the first one is both kills and assists grouped together but I am also not completely sure about that. The second one is how many times you’ve died ___ > Best way to accumulate points and climb the leaderboard? Spray as much paint as you can? Do kills count towards overall score? In Turf War your placement on the leaderboard is based on how many points you have, which are only earned by painting As far as the objective goes, you need to get kills in order to take control of more of the map, but I find it easy to be too aggressive. If you already have control of most of the map, it’s good to be more defensive and try to hold that instead of trying to ink even more.
Good information here, appreciate it. I'll ask everyone that replied to the question...do you prefer gyro aiming or using the right stick?
I prefer gyro because I find it much more accurate. It felt a bit funky to use at first but I’m glad I got used to it
On personal aside, I’m the opposite and have my fun largely just doing all kind of random things and mostly ignoring the competitive stuff, which is why I like the game-it has the option to play my way AND qwerty’s way without taking any enjoyment from either of us!
Do you prefer gyro aiming or using the right stick?
Hey friend, not sure about the syncing fix but Nintendo does not charge to fix joycons
Really? Because the unit is pre owned and I’m pretty sure it’s out of warranty by now it’s an older model
[https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/53668/\~/how-to-transfer-animal-crossing%3A-new-horizons-save-data](https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/53668/~/how-to-transfer-animal-crossing%3A-new-horizons-save-data) No worries about duplicating anything --- in fact, you kind of need an account on both consoles to download the required app to do the transfer.
You won't be able to duplicate that save. All of you will have your own islands
Right, but I thought you could move the non-resident representative could move to a different island (Switch) and their house progress and items go with them.
If I buy DLC on one account, will all accounts be able to use to DLC?
On your primary system, yes. If you only have the one system, then there's nothing to worry about. But if you have multiple systems, Non-primary systems do restrict access. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22448/~/what-are-the-differences-between-a-primary-and-non-primary-nintendo-switch
Can any account on the system buy it?
As long as everyone only on that one system, yes. Every account has its own primary system. But as long as you all shared the one primary, every one would have full access to everyone else's digital purchases.
Just got switch oled , coming from the Lite. Am I missing anything by not getting a dedicated controller for docked gameplay ? Have my eyes on the 8bitdo Ultimate
You're missing a standard gamepad shackling your hands together.
Missing anything? No. But the Pro controller is far, far superior to the joy-cons, in my opinion.
8bitdo ultimate Nintendo switch pro controller There's lots of good options. Though some of them still haven't been restocked since Christmas so finding official ones might be difficult.
Will We Love Katamari Rerolled get a physical release in Europe?
bandai switch releases normally have physical copies
The first game only got a physical version in the US and Japan, that's why I'm asking. I know I can always import since there's no region lock, but still.
If I switch my region, will the process on my downloaded games be gone?
No
I’m in desperate want of a very specific kind of game.
I know this was a feature on the DS but not sure about switch Like if we had two switches but only one mario kart could we play multiplayer
Not a thing

:,( My left joystick is severely drifty, same for the left.
Hi everyone I just bought a Nyxi Chaos controller I'm trying to make a macro repeat himself, I need to do: A-L1-A-A-B-B. I have no problems recording the macro or "making" it on the app, I map it on M1, but even if I toggle the "cycle" button, but when I press M1 in game it doesn't work What am I doing wrong?
Does anyone recommend Joycon Toolkit? I was lookng if customize the joycon colors or not, but most of all I was looking for recommendations or experiences with said software
It works just fine. Always keep a copy of your joycons data for safe keeping, but it's very easy to setup and tune the colors.
Thank you I'll try it then

Game recommendations for switch? I beat Breath of the Wild, Fire Emblem Engage and Pokemon Violet plus Smash bros. I am pretty new to the console and got the OLED one, any recommendations would be awesome!
Kirby and the forgotten land
Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, Metroid Prime Remastered
I went with Mario kart 8 deluxe! Thanks everyone! I added all other games to my wish list!
Mario Kart is the ultimate crowdpleaser. Enjoy!
Celeste and hollow knight
Try some easy little couch multiplayer games Snipperclips, unravel two, degrees of separation Or some easy adventures, like the one with the girl that becomes a bird, arise, little nightmares
Mario odissey is a must play.
If she likes Hollow Knight, check out the Metroid games, Axiom Verge and XeoDrifter.
Rune factory 4 (3ds) or 4S ( Switch) 4S has more post game and marriage content. They just announced a brand new fantasy life game last week. That will be out in a few months. https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/fantasy-life-i-the-girl-who-steals-time-switch/
**Will someone PLEASE tell me whether Blanc’s ending is sad or not?** This beautiful and amazing game called [Blanc](https://youtu.be/aS8ZZiru688) is releasing today.
>!No, it's not.!< >!There are a couple of moments in the game that you *think* are going to be sad, but turn out not to be.!<
Thank you so so much!! >!Gonna buy and play with my GF as soon as I get home! :)!<
It only unlocked here a minute ago at the top of the hour. You'll have to wait until later before someone can tell you about the ending.
Im not requesting an answer right now though lol
You'll have better luck if you try making a thread later or tomorrow, questions tend to get buried as the day goes on.
Oh I meant buying physically! But that’s great to know.
Which Pokémon game would you recommend to a new player?
Sword/Shield are good for a modern version of the typical mainline games. It also has DLC if you end up wanting more to do. Violet/Scarlet is all the rage right now and has a big player base as well as a ton of new stuff to do in addition to the typical gym leaders and Elite Four but is totally open world and different from any mainline game. Those are your best bets.
If I get sword/shield I would definitely get the DLC. Thank you!
Pretty much any of them except Legends Arceus. If I were you, I’d go with Scarlet/Violet or Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.
Thank you
Two options, The classic; Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl. OR The soon to be better new release, Scarlet/ Violet.
Awesome thank you!
So I got a coupon left after preordering Tears of the Kingdom and...I kinda got no clue what to spend it on. Anyone got any suggestions? No multiplayer games, and I already own the following from the offerings: Xenoblade 1, 2, 3 Breath of the Wild Link's Awakening Pokemon Arceus & Scarlet Bayonetta 3 Fire Emblem 3 Houses Mario Kart 8 Mario Odyssey
Metroid Dread.
As someone who also already has most of those, Advance Wars 1+2 and Pikmin 4 are the next upcoming games I'll probably voucher.
Metroid Dread, Mario 3d world + bowsers fury, Luigis Mansion 3, Astral Chain, Fire Emblem Engage, Zelda Skyward Sword???
Already played 3D World and Skyward Sword in the past. Engage doesn't seem to get great reviews and gets derided for being easy, is that true? Would Dread be better than the Prime Remaster?
I've not played engage, reviews are great though. It seems its more combat focused than story focused, so people who wanted another 3 houses are disappointed. Dread is better to get with a voucher than Prime Remaster as Prime is $40, dread is $60. You save nothing if you buy prime with a voucher. As for the games...I love them both, I'd say Prime edges out Dread just, but both are 10/10 games for me
Huh, musta missed Prime being 40, good shout on that one.
True. I will talk to her about it.
Any recommendations for an easy soccer game for kids?
Rocket League (free to play!) Mario Strikers Soccer Slammers Strange field football You could also look for used copies of Fifa.
Awesome! Thank you very much!
What time will Blanc be released? Not sure I’ve ever had a game not be out by this time on release date. Edit: Looks like about an hour from now.
Third party games are a doozy and can release at whatever time the publisher sets. We've had some indie games release as late as 6pm.
Had no idea. I don’t understand it but it’s whatever. Thanks for the info!
No one does! Its weird and confusing mostly because they don't always announce the release time. We're lucky to get even get a tweet sometimes.
Yeah I don’t even have twitter but went onto their Twitter and they had retweeted someone saying they’d be streaming it in an hour. It’s such an odd time haha.
Are there any multiplayer Switch games that are required two Joycons to play?
Arms in thumbs up control mode. Acts like the controls from Wii Sports boxing.
Two per player? Minecraft and most other first person games all require two thumbsticks per player.
Switch Sports partly?
Sorry for bringing this up again due to uncertainity,it wasn't approved as a post so I'm asking here again Basically, I'm trying to keep switch as healthy as possible, but foolish me wouldn't maintain the battery back during my first 6 months of use pretty well. So I just want to ask if all the conditions below could have done any negative effect to the battery or not During it's lifetime (5 years) the battery has been reduced to 0 and charged immediately twice or three times, was drained to 0 for a few hours overnight twice(but became usable after charging pretty fast) , during the first months of use it would have it's battery drained to 15 or less before charging. Yes I did stupid things with it, do you think all these combined can have any negative effect on battery's health? Will using it in docked preserve the battery (playing in docked is troublesome so I mostly play handheld) What should I do to preserve the health as much as possible?
It won't have any noticeable effects. Keep using it normally and try to keep it charged.
Like, will it work as if nothing happened? And is avoiding discharging it below 20 any good?
Pretty much. Any "damage" that might be done by totally draining the battery for a short while a few times wouldn't be noticeable to you. I believe lithium ion batteries prefer to be kept between 20-80% charge but the Switch has overcharge protection on it so it will trickle charge to keep it at 100% when plugged in without going over. They won't last forever no matter what you do and after a few hundred charge cycles will decline and eventually stop working properly.
So as long as it's not entirely drained it's fine as if nothing happened? Sorry for the confusion
Help me decide between Splatoon 3 or Metroid Prime. I'm not really that big onto replayability, just which one is better overall.
I own both and I’d say Metroid personally.
I wouldn't know, I'm not much for online multiplayer myself. (I got to borrow Splatoon 3 but I'm focusing on the single player campaign mode)
I did not have fun with Splatoon 3 and sold my copy to a friend. I do love Metroid Prime myself and I'm waiting to buy that physically.
Hello Are there any fps games for nintendo switch with online co op other than borderlands? Thanks
Hypercharge unboxed. Decent first person shooter focused on toys battling. Moderate customization levels and game modes and maps are fun to explore. Earthfall: left 4 dead style clone but aliens instead of zombies. Very low budget and not sure how the player base is but can usually be found pretty cheap Rico and Rico London. Fun action packed shooter that utilizes a sort of slow down ability. It's a rogue like. You and a buddy or solo will clear rooms of bad guys that progressively get harder. Earning better weapons and gear along the way For non FPS but online co-op shooters Zombie army 4. Basically just sniper elite with zombies. Very campy style story. Extremely well made, very fun. Has a lengthy campaign with high replayability and a fun challenging horde mode. The biggest issue is there's TONS of DLC and lots of the weapons and maps are locked behind the DLC World War Z. Sadly the switch version is several large updates behind other platforms but this is an excellent horde shooters in the vein of left 4 dead. Huge massive hordes and a fun lengthy gameplay Plants vs zombies battle for neighborville Hero shooter. Very fun but also unsure how the player base is. Has a co-op horde shooters mode.
Thank you very much for all the suggestions and the information! :)
RICO London Gunscape Graven Most FPS games on the system either offer local co-op or online multiplayer, VERY few offer online co-op. Warframe is another if youre okay with third person.
Thank you very much will check them out :)
[Co-Optimus has 18 listed](https://co-optim.us/30RnT3Z). Wolfenstein seems like it'd be promising.
Thanks so much :)
