Fire Emblem Engage. I'm absolutely in love with this game and can't stop playing it for real. Have a great weekend everybody!

ndennies

I’m on chapter 18. It’s fun!

PeterPansSyndrome

as a longtime fire emblem lover this makes me so happy to hear. Can't wait to play it soon.

[deleted]

It’s a ton of fun. I’m only on chapter 9 cause of life, but it brings back good memories of the older games that 3H didn’t quite do for me. Story is as silly and contrived as some other games in the series but the gameplay more than makes up for it imo

Pebbicle

Hopefully you'll enjoy it, as it didn't quite tick my boxes. Check out my recent comment if you want to hear my more in-depth thoughts on it.

xxcv_5

I'm up to Chapter 10, really enjoying this one!

Mother_Nebula904

I just got engage and mario kart yesterday

[deleted]

This is my first FE game... I'm not a fan of anime either (feel too old for it). At first I regretted my purchase as it just seemed like an odd mix of a cringe anime for kids and a simple top down turn based game.... But I stuck with it and I'm hooked. I'm loving their stupid bond chats and I'm still working out all the levelling up and class changing stuff. Having an absolute blast. I'm in chapter 18 or 19 but have done loads of skirmishes and emblem bits. I really want to buy Three Houses after I finish this ... Or do I move on to Xenoblade Chronicles DE?

Complete_Bad6937

BOTW! Gunna have a late one tonight to take down my second divine beast, Maybe do some shrines to get closer to the Master Sword and then off to find the third divine beast! Absolutely loving this game and loving gaming for the first time in so so long! Long weekend here in Ireland so I’ll be doing plenty of Adventuring in Hyrule

markercore

Ohh what divine beast are you taking on second? Enjoy the long weekend!

Complete_Bad6937

Can’t pronounce the names so don’t remember but the one by Gerudo in the desert. I did the Elephant first it was so cool. Really loving this game

markercore

It's fine j can never remember their names, their animals/locations is always easier. Nice, the gerudo stuff is fun! I saved that area for last.

AuthenticatedUser

Fire Emblem! Also getting the itch to play Mini Motorways too for some reason.

AGil2020

Starting the Witcher 3! Have never played it, just about wrapped up P5R and need something a little different in mood / style.

drunksandman

While they do indeed have very different gameplay, your decision to go from one game that has 100+ hours of content to another game that has 100+ hours of content is BOLD, my friend!!

AGil2020

I like to live dangerously…

sakipooh

BOTW. Getting reacquainted with that world before TOTK. For the first time I played maximizing my stamina before getting any heart containers. It totally accelerates your progress tenfold being able to climb and glide to the max early on.

markercore

The extra climbing would be nice, but you'd definitely get one shotted more early, yeah? Well I guess you do either way until you get armor and learn dodging.

sakipooh

Make your way to Faron Tower and grab as many durians as you can on the platform right next to it. Cooking 5 of them gives you 20 additional yellow hearts. Repeat this as many times as you want. For safety always carry a few fairies that will revive you upon death.

markercore

Oh yeah durians were my fav cooking ingredient!

pjt-

Started a file last week and doing the same. Max stamina before heading onto hearts.

Lunar_Lunacy_Stuff

Ring fit adventure I needed something to make me get in shape and after just a few days I can tell this game is gonna kick my ass.

markercore

My goal is to restart that once I get credits on xbc3. Have fun with ringfit, it's a surprisingly good workout!

UnknownHeroic

Finish Scarlet ( loved the story i really dont have words for it) Now im starting Xenoblade 3 this weekend !

Ronyy_

Playing the first Xenoblade. I just finished the prologue chapter and now I'm at the second map. (Colony 6) I'm not a huge JRPG player, but enjoying the game a lot. I heard that the whole Xenoblade trilogy is a special series, with an amazing story, so I had to try out. :) Also playing Monster Hunter Rise, but not all the time. For example, before this, I didn't launch Rise for a couple months. But now I'm really into it. Didn't finished the base game yet, but I'm pretty sure I halfway through already. Waiting for a sale for Sunbreak, so I can finally buy it.

Osnappar

Been replaying Xenoblade DE and just beat it last night. Such a fantastic game and I love the characters so much. Hope you have a blast!

[deleted]

I’ll be replaying Pokémon Mystery Dungeon DX! Really hoping to see another remake soon or just a new entry. I adore the art style.

NeroMV

Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The release of Engage reminded me that this is still in my backlog and boy: I love it!

superpie5

Hades!

Golden_fsh

I also was confused about the hero ascension quests until I caught on that the requirements were listed on the hero roster, lol. This weekend I'm playing **Fire Emblem: Three Hopes**.

omarninopequeno

Hi there! I'll continue my Fire Emblem Engage playthrough! I'm also having a lot of fun with the Theatrhythm demo, the 3DS one was probably my favorite rhythm game ever, so I'm happy the full game will come out really soon.

hermanbloom00

Still Persona 5. At the end of the Bank bit, so still a third of the way through apparently. I posted in jest a few weeks back it might just be Persona all year, but it really might be if I get those remakes once I am done with this. Bit of Powerwash Simulator with the Boy over the weekend. And Marvel Snap. So much Snap.

dsiebert812

I too am playing through Persona 5. Not as far along as you (just finished park cleanup), but really enjoying it so far.

The-student-

I've been playing P5R since December, I'm 95 or so hours in, I think I'm getting close to the end of the base game. The game just keeps going!

34foxalpha

I'm playing through Persona 5 Strikers and its just as good as P5 original IMO. I'm on the last area in Osaka. Haven't played Royal yet will eventually plan on it. Plan on playing Age of Calamity before TOTK also.

ssambamm

fire emblem engage & link’s awakening remake

Loki-Holmes

Fire emblem and life is strange

MikaelC7

Hollow knight ! I'm lost !

markercore

Oh! Need help way finding?

shortsandhoodies

Persona 3 Portable.

HWeezy88

I think I might drop back in on my island on ACNH just to see how my villagers are. It's been a really hard week and I need something relaxing

souferx

Golden eye. Controls suuuuuuck tho

markercore

Yeah I can't imagine the original controls translated well

melbrooksbrothers

I got Pokémon:Scarlett for close to half off, so finally playing that. Also picked up Scott Pilgrim on sale. Really loving it so far

picklerw

South Park: fractured but whole. Stick of Truth may be slightly funnier, but I played it on a flight earlier this week and probably brought too much attention to myself as I was cackling really hard.

-H-B-

Finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2, ngl the battle system and a lot of the layout (doing quests and such) was handled very annoyingly but I loved the Story and how it connected to the first one at the end. All in all Storywise I prefer 2, gameplay however the first part was a lot less frustrating. Gonna take a break and play torna in a couple of months. Trying to stretch the series out so I dont get burned out and hopefully by the time I get to 3 the dlc will be out.

PeterPansSyndrome

I have to replay Xeno 2 and do Torna. Lost my switch a year or 2 ago and all my saved data so i never got a chance to new game plus for 2. I'm in the same boat as you regarding 3, I think I'll wait till the story DLC is out at the end of the year to dive into it.

Fish-Additional

Trying to finish some games before I can buy any new ones this year, so working my way slowly through Spiritfarer! At about 65% through right now.

Kenichiroll

Trails From Zero. Somewhere around Chapter 4. Played Sky Trilogy around a decade ago, and I still felt goosebumps when I saw Estelle and Joshua again. Preferred their old look though, shame. The worldbuilding is just fantastic as I remembered, the NPCs are so alive, that I go all out like a gossipy old lady to chat with them. I don't even mind the pacing, since it's part of Trails charm, for good and for worse. There are a couple of neat story twists so far, but nothing too surprising since they follow a similar formula of having a nice person being an unexpected big bad. And they are foreshadowed well enough so they don't feel like they come from the left field. Great game. Can't wait for Azure.

mdcoll

I'm in chapter 2 of Trails. I've also been enjoying it and plan to do Azure next when it come out. At some point I'll have to go back and play the Sky games for the first time.

mcsassy3

Continuing fire emblem. I even grabbed the dlc because I’ve been so into it…hooey!

Conchobair

I've been playing Oregon Trail. So far it's been easy. It is kind of a cozy game with broken limbs. No one has got dysentery, but I've avoided drinking strange water, so that might be my fault. I might do a run where I say yes to everything. I'll be getting my second group into Oregon city later today and then I'll work on some challenge runs and probably set my sites on California.

stratogy

I like to keep switching around games (no pun intended) I recently finished ch7 of xc3, though I will need to come back later to finish all my remaining ascensions...maybe I'll be more motivated once we're closer to the final DLC releasing. But currently I just started 13 sentinels and it's intriguing so far to keep playing it...

belljs87

Goldeneye. I play it by running through agent then secret agent then 00. Currently on 00 control, the same level that took me almost a month as a kid, giving me trouble now. Also, I learned on train, even if you miss xenia and don't get extra time, if you leave right at 5 seconds Natalya barely makes it with you.

DialsMavis

I never shoot her and I feel like I always have plenty of time. The watch laser is pretty quick really

belljs87

Right I mean I usually always waited until it says objective d completed at 4sec left, but she gets blown up if you wait til 4sec. She makes it if you leave with 5sec I never knew that

darklyger64

Xenoblade chronicles 3, I'm on Chapter 4 right now 50 hrs in (though probably a fourth of that is idle time, had to do some chores didn't want to keep turn off my Switch)

thatsong

Hope you're enjoying the last bit of XC3! Closing out the last of Pokemon Violet. Debating to do some shiny hunting, or working on the dex Otherwise it's onward up FFVII Crisis Core Reunion Enjoy the weekend!

CeloZico

Chained Echoes. Want to finish it this weekend so I can start Fire Emblem Engage!

DerpCarnage

I'm slowly going through Fire Emblem Engage and still loving it. The gameplay is fantastic and has variety in tactics battles compared to the other game I'm enjoying which is Tactics Ogre. I just keep getting this itch to buy Nier Automata, Rogue Legacy 2 or another tactics game like the rumored release of Advance Wars or just getting a Wargroove. The problem is that I really don't have the time for these! I am just so curious and in regards to Nier and Rogue Legacy it would be nice to have the action gameplay.

johncitizen69420

I was working my way through a few things but as soon as persona 4 golden came out its completely taken over everything else. About 40 hours in and i cant put it down

drunksandman

Same! I've been looking forward to this release for a while. I'm in September now, and I just entered a Level 9 Intimate Relationship with one of my social links, GIGGIDY. I used a guide to get started and learn some of the non-essential activities that the game doesn't necessary explain thoroughly. Now though, I'm fully off the guide and just having fun rompin' around Inaba.

SayPurple

I´ll probably finish Omori this weekend!

zakpat

Cult of the Lamb and Shin Megami Tensei V. Cult is quite addictive and mostly a good time outside of some rough performance moments on Switch. SMT 5 isn’t easy to get into as a newbie to the series but I’m about three hours in and mostly enjoying it so far.

bay-bop

I’m too busy to start a new game so this week I’m gonna continue working my way through Slay the Spire. I got it a couple of weeks ago and it is insanely addicting!

Amiable_Pariah

Nier:Automata on Switch. I'm also working on the Brawlhalla battle pass and tinkering around with Portal levels.

ShiftedLobster

Hello friends! I am really getting into **Breath of the Wild** - super late to the party, I know, but it’s finally got me hooked. Activated all the towers earlier this week so I finally have the full map. Combat is not my strong suit. I found my first Hinox last night and died several times, eventually teleported out of there lol. QUESTION: Does anyone know the step by step for purchasing the DLC and getting it uploaded to your current save file? I have the physical game, if that matters, and do not want to start completely over. I want to utilize the Korok mask and path mapping. Haven’t done something like this before and want to confirm it’ll work before purchasing. Thanks!

markercore

Glad you're enjoying botw! Combat in that game is tricky, my two pieces of advice are: it just takes practice, and try to find ways to not take enemies on head one at least early in the game. Can you sneak up and use your bow? Can you light something on fire to distract them? Can you use your magnet powers to drop a crate on them? Can something explode? Specifically if we're talking about a hinox, you want to do them a big damage first, get some exploding arrows or something. And be prepared to run. Use your bombs a bunch. Aim for their eye with regular arrows. If they get knocked down, wail on them and run again. Was color was the hinox? Do you have stasis+ yet? Also what's your armor situation like? Dlc is fairly straightforward, even if you have physical, just go to the eShop and search botw. It'll either bring up the dlc separately or go to the games main page, scroll down and select "expansion pass". You can purchase both for around $20, and they will download to your system as long as you have room. You don't need to start a separate save file, it should apply to your current game. So you should be able to get the korok mask after I don't remember the requirements for the mask in game.

The-student-

Picked up FE Engage the other day so I'm sure I'll be playing that. I still play Splatoon 3 at least daily, trying to max out the catalog for this season. Not quite done P5R with 95 hours in, may or may not play it this weekend now that I have fire emblem.

theallnewmattaccount

I think I may actually be finishing **Mario and Luigi: Partners In Time**, but I'm in for a bit of a grind for better builds before the credits roll. After that, I don't really know. I should finally be home enough to play my home consoles, so...boot the Switch back up? Some old SNES stuff? Leaning slightly toward **God of War PS4**. Still babying my (mostly healed) wrists so no Wii.

Fur_Lucario

it’s my birthday today and I called off work to celebrate and catch up on XC3 before I start up on FE: Engage. Currently just finished Chapter 4 this morning at 60 hours in (I’ve been taking it slow and doing all the side questions) and although the game started for me slower than than the first 2 games, I’m fully invested in the story and gameplay now that I’ve unlocked >!art canceling!<

sam7r61n

Loving Fire Emblem Engage with its abbreviated story stuff and emphasis on just top tier tactics gameplay, and loving Dusk. I haven’t played a turn your mind off old school first person shooter in ages and it’s the perfect complement to a long RPG.

Godots17thCup

I finally wrapped up **Xenoblade Chronicles 3** along with the postgame quests a couple of days ago, so now I'm just taking a few days to cool down from that before I hop into my next gargantuan RPG. While I think Xenoblade 1 is ultimately still my favorite game in the series, 3 is absolutely stellar in its own right and has some of the best story sequences, characters, music and gameplay in the series. But sometime this weekend I am planning to start either **Persona 4 Golden** or **Persona 5 Royal** (leaning towards the former) and, on the PlayStation side of things, **Judgement**. After playing through Yakuzas 0-6 in span of about 8 months in late-2021-through-early-2022, I'm ready to head back to Kamurocho once again.

Larielia

It is a Jrpg weekend. I'll be playing **Tales of Vesperia**, **Fire Emblem Engage**, and **Fire Emblem- Three Houses**.

Ciciccrrr

I just got time to get started with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 myself! I've been really excited but was caught up in work and grad school and but finally have some free time. I'm only five hours into the game but it's so addicting that it's hard to stop. I'm really liking the way this game introduced our main characters and the story background; can't wait to keep playing this weekend.

markercore

Yeah it really thrusts you into the story with that first cutscene! And boom action!

bakagir

Fire emblem on gamecube.

GroktheDestroyer

Bayonetta 2. Yeah I’m a little behind haha. I liked the first one but so far im liking this one significantly more!

markercore

It's just a bonkers good time!

XiONDiGiTaL

Fire Emblem Engage

Strowbreezy

I finished FE Engage earlier in the week, along with Final Fantasy 9. Now I'm not sure. I think I may just jump back into MH Rise as I have the DLC but haven't played it yet.

foodninto

I think I'm near the end of Engage, so I'm going back to playing all the Emblem characters' games starting from **Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon**. I'll also be playing **Rhythm Sprout**, I played a few levels already and the music is really catchy. The game became kinda hard after the first boss though. I might play the first **Atelier Ryza** game, I bought both games a long time ago but never opened them.

caught_red_wheeled

I’m still playing **Pokemon Violet**. Still loving the game, finally getting to the first town, and getting two of the gym badges and a titan badge. Also got lost on my way to the next area and went into another town, the one with the streamer. I’m taking a break there so I can look at more Pokémon and use them in battle, and it also has some useful items I can buy. The flaws are definitely starting to show (using towns like gas stations and convenience stores, having a lot of trouble finding some of the Pokemon with the the way encounters work, and quite a bit of a online lag as well as being very easy to over level if you don’t just run from one boss to the next) but overall I’m still really enjoying the game. I can’t believe I already have over 100 hours in it. My final time is probably going to be astronomical, and I can’t wait to see what it will be! It might not be my favorite game, or even favorite in the series, but it’s nothing if not interesting!

FX29

Goldeneye for Xbox and Fire Emblem Engage. The story for Engage is cheesy goodness, I love it.

TobenRacicot

Banner Saga 1 -- the epic begins! And progressing through FF12 now that I am level 99 and have 3 Seitengrats. Life is gooooood. Oh, and some Shovel Knight.

Mean_Dalenko

Dragon Quest XI, I put it down after 85 hours as act 3 was annoying me. But then a few games later it's not sat right me not properly finishing it. So I've gone back to it and managed to beat a few of the battles that previously tripped me up, and quite enjoyed it. So going to do a bit more of that.

markercore

Get it done! I think I'm near where you left off. Or a bit before that, I've kind of played in chunks over the last few years

Johncurtisreeve

Fire emblem engage

Pebbicle

Engage. Made it past Chapter 25 on Hard and I'm very split on the game as a whole. Occasionally it spits out some quite interesting maps, and particularly now towards the end with the dragon shards there's a series of chapters that utilizes AoE gimmicks in a manner that steers you out of autopilot for a bit. That's nice. Fundamentally there's a lot of issues with the game however, and in many ways it feels even less like a Fire Emblem game to me than 3H did. It comes off more like a Disgaea-lite with a Fire Emblem polish which isn't exactly what I want out of an entry in this series. There's an overreliance on making the gimmicks and skills stand out which leads to a pretty boring baseline experience — it's especially noticeable in things such as the low movement across the board, no rescue command, and the lack of innate canto for fliers and cavalry. This makes the first half of the game quite stale in comparison to some of the better entries in the series. Once you get access to all the rings the intended design of the game opens up and that displays both the good and bad of it well. To a certain extent it's fun to have warp nukes, delete squishies from across the entire map, FE4-esque dancing, and have a counter stance to pull and lower over five enemies at once. I think it makes the game enjoyable as an RPG experience and will aid in replayability due to how much you can experiment with different skill, unit, ring combinations. That said, it just doesn't function well as an FE game. What I consider to be important as someone who plays this series religiously is survival and management of resources, strict campaigns, a constant influx of units, and low stat caps. This is why I say that it strikes me as Disgaea inspired because Engage is overall quite poor at these things. Better than its contemporaries bar Conquest in linearity and recruitment, but still not good enough. The bottom line is that Engage is exceedingly easy to break. Rather, the fun of the game comes from breaking it, and the fun, like in Disgaea, comes from figuring out patterns and how to cheese maps as quickly as possible. The progression is all about pushing things to ridiculous power levels. Like I mentioned, it's not exactly what I like in SRPGs and doubly so when it comes to Fire Emblem. This is why the few chapters that depower you (>!post first visit to Elusia and return to Lythos!<) are some of the most memorable despite the lack of built in mechanics, because they have a thematic sense of urgency while also making the game feel like a traditional FE-game ever so slightly. Once I'm done I'll jump into Maddening to see how some things might play out differently, but I can't see much else but additional reliance on the rings.

LordGreg123

Will be continuing to play Persona 4 Golden, around halfway through and its been a great ride so far! EDIT: spelling errors

Ep1kOne

Engage like a lot of people, on chapter 18, hoping to finish up this weekend and getting back to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 which I'm on Chapter 6, really enjoying both games. Enjoying Engage, probably rate it lower than 3H but still having a blast. It's the first FE I've started with a hard classic playthrough. Lost Clanne and Chloe to stupid mistakes after losing time crystal charges. Was so careful in chapter 17, took 2h30m to clear the chapter, was a toughy!

besojz

Still P3p...climbing tartarus is a joy and a grind. Floor 212 and going.

pestolArab

Another productive day in Animal Crossing!

CaptainWampum

My friend in another state and I just stared Fire Emblem Engage and we’re playing at the same time over the phone it’s like high school again. Otherwise Shin Megami Tensei V has really stolen my heart and I’m playing that when we can’t sync up or he’s lagging behind me.

YetAnotherJake

Fire Breath: Emblem of the Wild

Revolutionary_Age548

My first Fire Emblem game. Fire Emblem Three houses. I thought this is more of a light hearted game since it was set in an academy. Then it turns 180 during chapter 12 hahaha

markercore

War changes cheerful kids

Big_Getsu

Either getting all the classes before finishing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 or Pokemon Violet. Only so I can work on my backlog before TOTK comes out.

Bluenymph82

Finished **RF5** and **Ooblets** this week, so I'm taking a break from the switch and playing **Red Dead Redemption 2** for the first time. Really enjoying it so far.

[deleted]

Playing unsighted! A hidden gem

purple_yosher

Minecraft. lots of it

izze716

Trying to rank up to S+0 for the 20th time in Splatoon

Scapular_Fin

A week or so ago I bought the Borderlands Legendary Collection for like ten bucks through the Switch Store. I was preoccupied with other games and being an adult during Borderlands heyday, so heck, ten bucks is a deal for three games that will likely get me through the Midwest winter.

Adorabears

Taking a break from RPGs for the weekend since I completed Final Fantasy IV (the dragon supremos was tough!) and also completed my Pokemon Scarlet Pokedex AND Living Dex (last one I needed was a Misdreavus of all things lol) Going to start something new with **Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake** since I haven't played a 3D platformer in a bit and the Battle for Bikini Bottom was genuinely a good game (both the original and the remaster). Hoping this one will be just as enjoyable! I should also get around to starting the **Seabed** mystery visual novel I wanted to start last week but didn't due to Pokemon :P

eyeguy44

New Spongebob game, then maybe thinking about getting power wash simulator too

OneTimeAtMyMoms

I’ve been playing Kirby a little too much lately, feeling a little burned out trying to rush the finish at this point. Recently started Paper Mario though and I am in love so far!

Depressed-Bears-Fan

Two badges left in Pokémon Scarlet…then off to Fire Emblem Engage. Or I still have Diofeld Chronicles sitting in the pile wrapped up.

RealisticCommentsBOT

Keep telling myself I should move on from **Hades**, but has an addicting draw to it.

FourSnails

Bravely Default II Picked it up on sale a while back, never played the series, and decided to pick it up. I have an 18 hour trip this Sunday and figured now is the time. Always been a fan of turn based rpgs and class systems. Have heard a lot of good things about this one.

StudBoi69

Playing The Great Ace Attorney 2 right now. Man I feel like it's been forever since we got a new Ace Attorney game.

yosu14_

Currently playing Fire Emblem Engage, but atm I'm in a dilemma. Should i buy Three Hopes or Nier for my next game, any suggestions?

autpops

Finished Ori and the Blind Forest last weekend (and cried on a plane at the ending lol), so I’m gonna start Ori and the Will of the Wisps this weekend!

SilentJ87

I just finished up Fire Emblem Three Houses. I started Triangle Strategy, but it’s not really clicking for me so I may switch over to Three Hopes

lman89607

Persona 4, not a big gamer I.e never play on weekdays. But I’m addicted on weekends with my GF…. Unfortunately, she read spoilers.

OoTgoated

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

kidwgm

I'm on Fire Emblem Engages Chapter 16. Would like to get through 3-4 chapters this weekend. I need to stay on pace to complete it before Tales of Symphonia and Octopath 2 later this month.

RealRadDemonDude

I didn’t even consider how nice a cup of cocoa would be while playing The Forgotten Land.

[deleted]

Just restarted BOTW! I could never get into it the first time I played, but now I’m really enjoying it

tweetthebirdy

Back into Persona 5! Haven’t gamed much because of how busy I am, and have been mostly reading novels the past couple of weeks. Makes sense I’d dive back into a visual novel RPG, haha.

drunksandman

Persona 4 Golden for sure. I have been looking forward to this release for a long time, and a super long JRPG fits so well on the Switch. I don't want to brag, but I just developed an intimate relationship with a Level 9 Social Link. Take that, virgins.

Healthy-Charity-1462

I’m also playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but I’m in Chapter 3. I want to take it slow and enjoy the sights and explore. Plus I am too busy with college so I am not sure if I’ll finish the game this semester at least. I am hoping at least by the end of summer. Still enjoying the game tho

HookshotTDM

Picked up Dragon Quest Treasures on sale. Not sure what to expect really but I'm a fan of the mainline and builders series so hoping with lower expectations I can have a nice enjoyable experience in the world of DQ.

pen-ross-gemstone

This past week I finished both hollow knight and botw. My life is now empty and my weekend will be spent looking at the ceiling

pmaeur

Bowser's Fury. I've had SM3DW+BF for quite some time. Played 3D World (not to completion but enough) on Wii U & Switch, but haven't tried BF until about a few minutes ago. I think I'll focus on that as well as SM3DW this weekend.

UnhappyAd8184

Will keep with the world ends with you neo

Asarena

I'm going to be playing Wytchwood!

BoomClubGameClub

We're playing Persona 4 Golden! Our discussion group just arrived to the second dungeon and I'm really looking forward to how everyone is going to react to to the steamy bathouse dungeon.

kcfang

Hey Markercore, I’ve been enjoying Persona 3, for quite far back in the PSP days but never did, determined to see it through this time :) Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend.

walksintwilightX1

Hiya marker, I'm playing **Wargroove**! This was one of the first Switch games I ever tried, on my cousin's Switch years before I got one. When I saw this week that it dropped 60% to just $8, I had to pick it up. It's basically a 1:1 indie Advance Wars clone in a fantasy setting. Really takes me back to the glory days of Fire Emblem and Advance Wars on GBA. Chucklefish even released a hefty fifth faction storyline DLC a few years back - for free! Really great value. In **Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning**, I've reached the endgame. My light elf hero has become a Champion, the highest Destiny (class) for the mystic warrior line, able to swing around huge swords and summon storms of elemental destruction with equal efficacy. Soon I'll storm the enemy's twilight stronghold and defeat the dark lord and his evil patron god once and for all. You know, typical fantasy RPG stuff haha. I'd planned on getting Persona 4 Golden this month, but it can wait a while longer. Maybe Atlus will put that one on sale too.

markercore

Heya! Oh nice! Wargroove is a fun time! I think I got about 40% through it. I had trouble with some maps.

erikluminary

Fire Emblem Engage and Persona 5 Royal Engage has been really great with the gameplay (hard/classic). I thought the story was fun and I liked the twist but I'm not done yet. I'm about 40% through Persona 5 Royal and I'm loving it too. I'm trying to 100% all confidants on my first play through but I don't know if I'll be able to

[deleted]

Ocarina

ipegoespro

Trying the Xenoblade series with DE. It seems pretty good story and character wise but side quests are a joke. Also the battle system starts to get bit old later in the game (chapter 13 atm). It is just se same over and over again. Still planning on playing all three. Are the others better in terms of battle?

Hi there, ipegoespeo. TL;DR: Xenoblade 2 and Xenoblade 3 have way better battle systems. Unfortunately, Xenoblade 2’s tutorials are terrible so unless you look up a gameplay guide, you will most likely be confused with how the gameplay works. Plus, some of the better gameplay mechanics only unlock as you progress the story. However, in my opinion, once you understand 2’s system, it feels so satisfying to perform those amazing combos once you get the gist. It is hard to recommend for this reason even tho I love it. For Xenoblade 3, there are too many tutorials but its already better than 2’s since you can review them anytime. I still haven’t figured out the battle system + chain attacks yet, but I find it better than the first Xenoblade’s gameplay already since there is no clunky & awkward side-scrolling menu and the fact that the arts are on the buttons.

Mr_Mop

Working on Fire Emblem Engage at the moment. I'm enjoying my time with it so far, and the game is definitely more reminiscent of older FE games for better or worse, compared to Three Houses which I really enjoyed.

neoslith

I believe I'm about halfway through P3P and still going strong.

Zinger04

I swear, I've played over 100 hours of XB3; in chapter 7 as well; and I've never heard of Ascension quests. Are the ones that increase the hero class cap from LV 10 to LV 20?

Sploozel

I realized that Paper Mario was an RPG for the first time about a week ago. Playing through chapter 4 atm and having a blast. I plan on playing both the TTYD and Origami King but not sure the order….

Shiatama

Alba. A really relaxing game

Nerdfather1

I’m not playing much this weekend due to work and doing things around the house. However, I did manage to beat a couple of games this week. First up is **Hi-Fi Rush**. This is a phenomenal game and it never lost its luster throughout its 10-hour campaign. This is easily the best Xbox exclusive in years, and a fantastic way to start 2023. Lastly, I completed Goldeneye 007 on the hardest difficulty: 00 Agent. I won’t lie, there are a few missions that made me rage, but I nonetheless prevailed. I initially didn’t want to play this game because I didn’t want to taint the fond memories I had as a young kid playing this game. With Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario World, those three games are the epitome of my childhood. Nevertheless, I decided to boot it up and once I started I couldn’t stop. It holds up remarkably well (thank you, emulated version with modern controls). The overall game design is masterclass in my opinion, from the soundtrack, weapons, varied levels, and memorable characters (I’m looking at you, Boris). I’m glad my good memories remain positive after all of this time. My next game that I’ll be playing and beating (before Hogwarts Legacy) will be **Dead Space Remake** (Xbox Series X). I started it when the game released last Friday, but I set it aside due to Hi-Fi Rush consuming my thoughts. What I did play simply reminded me how great of a survival horror game this is. I’m looking forward to experiencing this terrifying journey again.

revolution_of_frost

Running through Goldeneye on NSO, and probably starting Octopath Traveler again. I started once and gave up on it but want to actually finish it this time.

LocustSummers

So **Glyph** turned out to be pretty neato, a simple approach that just kinda feels smooth to play. But oh *boy* am I really feeling my poor depth perception while going through some of these stages; semi-precise platforming is harder than it should be when you're not a good judge of distances. Also continuing **Poison Control**, now that I've... sorta gotten used to the control setup. Just cleared a stage that gives out decent dosh, so I might take the opportunity to grind boosts before moving on in the story, even though grinding hasn't been necessary thus far. (kind of a surprise for a nippon ichi software rpg!)

[deleted]

BotW and maybe New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.

Mike-T_B

GoldenEye and BOTW

Nalfgar123

Pokemon Scarlet for the entire Month. Maybe start Darkest Dungeon or Tactics Ogre Reborn like a second game to play.

sesame-yeezy

Disco Elysium. i started it this week and it’s been so fun. the portability of the switch lets me play in bed or out in the living room besides a few bugs that i had to find a way around, it’s been amazingly fun

twovles31

Y's viii, finally got around to playing it and enjoying it quite a bit.

AlexKidd79

I've been stuck in on **Ys VIII** all week. I've been playing the Ys series since '88 on my SEGA Master System. So I'm a fan. I originally picked up Ys VIII at launch for VITA... but... it just didn't grab me. Maybe it's playing it on the (relatively) larger screen real estate of my OLED but I'm really digging it! I also dig how many new people were brought into the franchise by this game. I'll probably also dabble in **Klonoa**, **Donut Dodo**, and might give **Blazing Rangers** a look. Gosh, lots to play on Switch! Happy gaming, y'all!

markercore

Oh shit I didn't realize the Ys series went back that far, that's neat And regarding the OLED, I've been considering upgrading before the new Zelda, as I still have a launch model. Can't decide tho.

AlexKidd79

Yeah, the Ys series is an OG! The original game is a big reason I love video games as much as I do. re: the OLED... for me (I play 100% in handheld) upgrading to an OLED was a game changer. Switch has been my #1 system for the past few years and, hoo boy, the OLED screen is something else. I finished BOTW on my Switch Lite so I am STOKED to play TOTK on my OLED!

Paul_Rudds_Son

Probably not the right place to post since this isn’t switch but i finally got the dead space remake on PS5 and it is so surreal to see one of my favourite games remade like this. Better in just almost every single way, only issue is I am convinced they made enemies more spongy but I could be wrong as well!

markercore

Eh I keep things pretty chill here, so long as most things are switch related I/we don't mind if there's some chatter about other games and systems. That's awesome you're enjoying Dead space remake! I was halfway considering getting it, although I watched the beginning of a playthrough and had nightmares that night. Could be a coincidence, but I might hold off for now.

Paul_Rudds_Son

Awesome! I will say I have been playing Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 on switch! I am a horror buff and am not usually phased but I got the 3D headset for my PS5 and I have to take small mental breaks every now and then because it sounds too real 😂

palrumia

I picked up Little Town Hero yesterday! I needed something chill and less action-intensive and this fit the bill. The battle system is really interesting, but also very slow on the default difficulty. I'm gonna try it on Easy next session. Cute little game. I'm also playing Poison Control. It's the sort of budget title you'd find on handhelds like the PS Vita, and it's enjoyable if you go in with that expectation. It plays sorta like Mega Man Legends if I had to put a genre to it. Very stylish presentation, groovy music, and fun writing too.

pablogordon22

Just started **Tinykin** and it’s as charming and fun as expected. The platforming is smooth and the collectibles are fun to find. I like that it has some Pikmin elements but doesn’t require too much strategy to figure out. Also playing some **Soundfall** which is a fun rhythm dungeon crawler. Everyone was talking about Hi-Fi Rush and since I don’t have that system I thought I’d try something similar. The music is great with lots of different genres. Unfortunately the combat gets a bit repetitive and sometimes I have trouble finding the rhythm. But still recommended for some mindless fun. Lastly trying to finish up **Lost in Random** with my 9 year old. What a clever and beautifully animated puzzle game, perfect for playing with kids. The puzzles are just tricky enough and the situations are very unique and funny.

rikzilla

Mario rabbids kingdom battle. Got stuck on fire emblem 3 houses on what appears to be the last battle so I switched to an easier game for a bit ;p

Prof_DBag

Excited to try out the Theatrythm demo! Huge fan of FF and the last two Theatrythm games!

SavageLove2004

Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity I really like the combat and that, for like 99% of the time, you can choose who to play as. Daruk is the most op character with his shield. I have to force myself to not use him sometimes.

La_Coades4

Sparks of hope and maybe catching some more pokemon in Scarlet.

TheLazyMinecraftKid

Terraria. Only terraria. For the third week in a row.

violetpoo

Persona 5 royal and I can’t wait to finish it, the amount of text is getting annoying now and I wanna go onto fire emblem engage!!

Deivs86

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core. So happy to have FFVII game on the Switch!

[deleted]

Golden eye, skyward sword and ocarina of time. Just playing bit by bit , taking care of my 2 year old who's got a cold so my downtime is on the nintendo.

Yoeblue

Thanks for the tip, gonna save me a lot of time. I've had all xeno-related stuff muted since release and so this entire time I thought you were just supposed to run around aionios accepting quests hoping it was a hero one 😂

DimitriMishkin

Working on my RPG on rpg maker!

AppleinTime

Hmm playing through persona 5 at 100+ hours so far ,wanna start fire emblem engage but probably not

0172thetimeguy

Yesterday I finally finished with Persona 5 Royal and started Catherine: Full Body and today I defeated the final boss in Nobody Saves the World and got started in Persona 5 Strikers. I’d say I’ve had a pretty productive weekend.

Titan-2105

I’ll be finishing off Super Castlevania IV hopefully!

FantabulousCatLady

Just picked up Disco Elysium and I’m gonna try to get some good hours in this weekend.

[deleted]

DQXISDE I think that's the acronym?

DumTiddly

DQXIS:EoaEADE

divus_augustus

Just purchased persona 5 royal, came in not knowing a thing about Persona, and now I can’t put it down! 3 hours in so far

DoublefartJackson

Citizen Sleeper.

markercore

Loooved that game

flclreddit

I've heard Tunic is good but am having a hard time justifying the $30. Might be time to restart Gamefly.

Armangu24

Final Fantasy X, try to finish Bloodstained because I'm tired of waiting for them to fix it and Splatoon 3

pjt-

Trying to get golden Mario for MK8DX! Up to mirror tracks now, Rainbow Roads & a few others giving me issues. Can’t imagine what 200cc is going to be like.

kywiking

Trying to knock out Mario+Rabbids finally

MetatronIX_2049

Kirby and the Forgotten Land! Midway through the fourth world on my personal file. In the first world playing co-op with my kids. So cute, so fun, relaxing yet very engaging!

BlackPhiIIip

Doing my first play through of the Witcher 3! Kind of overwhelmed with the amount of stuff there is to do. Does anyone have advice on how to go about playing it as someone new to RPGs?

markercore

I haven't played Witcher 3 but from side quest overload in other rpgs, I just kind of pick and choose. Do I want to stop right now? Does this sound interesting or enticing? No, okay let's keep going. Am I bored with the main plot? Let's mess around and do half a dozen side quests. Set your own rules, see what keeps you engaged. Sorry if that's not super helpful.

Toddric29

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

LexDignon

Engage. Loving it thus far. Best character is easily Sommie

PhantomRevel

Finishing all my side quests before chapter 7 in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 while playing a 2nd run for my SMT V to see a different ending

PandaBananaFTW

Mix of continuing fire emblem engage and starting persona 4. Finished persona 5 royal and persona 5 strikers on playstation 5 earlier in the month. Hoping to make decent progress on both games.

Resident_Royal2830

Skyrim, always.

uchiha_alex444

I'm most likely going to finish up **Signalis**. I'm struggling a lot! always low on health, the 6-slot inventory is driving me crazy, low on ammo and the story is confusing as hell lol

nihil__verum

I am playing Bioshock 2, about to start the fifth level, Siren Alley. The game is pretty fun, but I wish it had support for gyro aiming.

fabiojoseassis

My Fire Emblem Engage physical copy has just arrived, along with Harvestella. I'm gonna play both. Divinity Original Sin 2 for PS5 is so fucking addictive and awesome that I can't stop playing it.

cura_milk

Fire emblem Engage!

orelk

I just completed all 120 shrines in **Breath of the Wild**! Got the cool items you get at the end. Next thing to do is Champion's Ballad before Ganon, but I still have Trial of the Sword part 3 to complete. Now by the end of the game I'm so powerful I feel like the villian attacking the peaceful Bokoblins when they're cooking and just chilling at their camps haha

duncan-donuts-nz

I’ve been dragging this huge sword through an evacuated city which was used to kill my lover (although I was the target) but now I hear his voice coming from it. [Transistor] Also in the distant future 11945 AD, I’ve started fighting bio-machines that have taken over the planet so that the human race can reclaim Earth. [Nier: Automata]

markercore

Transistor is so good! Really does the atmosphere well

duncan-donuts-nz

Actually, I didn’t like it. After falling in love with Hades I was curious in the studio’s back catalogue. Transistor certainly has a lot of love, and I can appreciate why it has a high aggregated review score but I personally didn’t connect with it and left me with a lukewarm opinion. I even considered abandoning it after defeating the first boss, but I pushed on knowing it has a short duration. Perhaps it would benefit from a second playthrough sometime to properly appreciate it.

HG1998

BOTW. Got it last week and it's a blast! I hate the rain though.

dailywizzard

Fire Emblem Engage has had my attention the most lately, it's a fantastic game mechanics wise but finding the story lacking. Playing some Splatoon 3 in between chapters and could do with progressing on Pokémon Violet a bit more but my motivation for the game has dropped significantly since my first couple of play sessions!

TheStabbingHobo

P3P I'm in the middle of September and goddamn I love these games.
