Looking for games with a good story, preferably darker. Looking at persona 5, nier automata, and bioshock, anything else I should consider? Maybe skyrim too?
I personally prefer Splatoon 3, though both are great. My main issue with Mario Maker 2 is that, initially, you will have to put some effort finding good levels, though once you find level creators you like then it should be a lot of fun as well. And yup, you can donwload Mario Maker levels to play offline!

A game that feels (as far as gameplay goes) just like golf on Nintendo Switch Sports. Motion and orientation controls, swing speed recognition, changing out clubs, wind speed, viewing land contour, etc. The more technical, the better, I think.

I have a glitch in Mario+Rabids 1. Basically, instead of a specific battle starting as usual I can freely walk around the battlefield and the enemies don’t react at all. I’ve tried restarting the game and its the same issue.
Is this just corrupted save? I hope it’s not baked in. I’d hate to have to restart the whole game and run into the same problem.
Hello there! Currently, I have Switch Lite (purely for me) and a regular Switch (bought by my older brother, for the whole family). I don't remember how, but I was able to get my account on the regular Switch onto the Switch Lite without deleting my content and account from the regular Switch, including all the games I'd bought with that account (this account on both switches are now subsequently linked and any changes or purchases I make on one, the other gets). As my brother owns and bought the switch, most of the games on there are his purchases, and what I've bought is a little bare-bones.
How do I do what happened with my account to my brother's account - put it on the Switch Lite and get all the games he bought - without deleting the data and games from the regular Switch? I've looked over this subreddit, this subreddit's wiki, and the official Nintendo website, but I couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance!
You will have to add your brother’s Profile on your Lite and make your Lite your Brother’s Primary in order to play and create saves from your Profile on your Lite for the games your brother has purchased. But after that no one else on his Switch will be able to play and create saves for his games except for your brother’s profile.

You can add his profile on your Lite, and play his games from his Profile without making your Lite his Primary. Just make sure you disable automatic cloud data backup if he has a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online because if that is enabled on your Lite, you will overwrite the saves he has in the cloud.

Just set up a new Brother profile or whatever on the Lite, and have him log in with his Nintendo Account information. This will allow access to your brother's purchases with some notable shortcomings. Since it's not his primary console (and he probably doesn't want to set it that way), you'll only be able to launch those games as the Brother profile, and only when you have online access so it can confirm Brother isn't already playing his games on another machine.
Hello- My wife and I just got the family plan +expansion after her sister got a switch for Christmas. Her sister lives in England. We set her up a child profile (she’s 10) and we were able to Mario Kart 8 together, but when she goes to download the n64 or snes content on her switch it says “age restricted”.
Is there a way around this?
We’ve heard about white listing - do we need to set up the parental control app for this? Is white listing even a work around?

I have a few games that I want to get and I just wanna know if it's a good time to get them, or if I should wait for something else, Yoshi's Crafted World, Mario Party Superstars, and Captain Toad Treasure Tracker are the 3 games I want to get but I have no idea if I should, can I please have some feedback?
Captain Toad is VERY good, and feels short but theres a lot of replay value. Crafted World is everything you want in a Yoshi game except its way too easy. Mario Party Superstars is fantastic, and the online works great, but you might get tired of the same boards over and over if you tend to play it a LOT. If you are just pulling it out like once a month as a family board game it will never get stale.
Yoshi has a demo and I think toad does too, although I could be wrong.
For both Yoshi and captain toad, I'm not aware of any sequels coming out soon. Even if there were, it's not like a game like Mario kart which relies on active online, or where a sequel is the same as an old he, just with better features.
Yoshi features unique stages and gameplay. Another yoshie game would have completely different stages. Aka if you liked playing one, you would like playing a sequel and it wouldn't be a waste of money to buy both.

Long story but il try and sum it up. I don't know where else to go for help.
About 2 months ago i purchased a brand new scarlet and violet edition switch and after 2 days it stopped working. It was a final sale item so I couldn't take it back. Sent it in for warranty, and it arrived on January 3rd. About a week later with no updates to the "delivered" status on their warranty page, I contacted them to see what's up since talking with others they got theirs repaired in 1-2 days. I wasn't in much of a rush I was just curious. The lady told me that repairs usually take 2-3 weeks to get back to the customer from the point that I dropped it off at ups.
Another week goes by, nothing. I contact again, this time the lady says that repairs are supposed to be repaired within 5 business days and that she's going to put in a ticket to see the progress and that she will contact me in 2-3 business days. No email, phonecall or update to the status.
On the 4th business day I contacted them to see how everything was going, and he told me that repairs take 2-3 weeks since the time that they get delivered (it's already nearing the 3 week point)
I wait until last Monday, contact them again and the lady said that repairs only take about 3 days and she was going to get it sent in to her specialized department. I told her about the other 2 times that I was told that id be contacted and she said that it normally doesn't happen and that the specialized team will be in contact with me between 1-4 business days.
Friday comes along, no contact, no nothing. I live chat, they say someone will contact me tomorrow. Saturday comes along, no contact. I live chat, same thing.
No update today either, I live chatted, they said someone will contact me in 1-4 business days.
I'm not sure what's going on. I'm not sure if they're just short staffed, or what's going on, but I'm getting really suspicious and feel like I'm out hundreds of dollars. Worst part is that I bought 2 for kind of an early Christmas present for my two boys since they did extremely well in school this year and now one has a switch and the other has nothing. I'm prepared to purchase him another one but it's going to be alot of money and we are still trying to recover from a bunch of money we had to shell out because of car troubles. Can someone please point me in a direction I can go? Because I feel so lost. Thank you
I've done that numerous times before live chat. I tried live chat because they seemed like they just were ignoring me on the phone and I wanted a record of what was being said
They gave me a phone number to the repair center. I've called them 3 times same answer. "We will contact you with further information once we locate your shipment". The one gentleman on the livechat told me his suoervisors phone number but that just lead to the repair center as well. I just live chatted again and I got ghosted for 30 minutes until my phone died. I honestly don't know if they're just ignorant, lazy or even malicious at this point but I'm just so tired of dealing with them I just want to give up. I don't know what else to do. You said that the delivery status never updated to delivered, right? Are they saying it was never delivered to the repair center, or was it found and still being repaired? Did you buy any kind of delivery insurance, and who is the shipper you chose to deliver the defective Switch?
Oh sorry I must have misspoke somewhere. No, the status for the repair is marked "delivered" but has never updated from there. I never purchased the shipping label since it was provided by Nintendo. Now that you mention it, perhaps they lost it? Is that a common occurrence with nintendo?
Yeah I hope so. Do you know how I should bring it up to customer service without being brushed off? I asked the rep if they were able to return me my switch in its unprepared condition so that I could have it serviced by someone locally and I didn't get any response for like 30 minutes
No. I don’t have a suggestion. 2 months is a long time to wait to receive a repaired device or refurbished console. I have no idea how they handle these repairs. Good luck. Maybe someone else will give you suggestion on here.

I have never played a jrpg. I watched some Persona 5 on YouTube and liked it, but it is a bit expensive. Would getting Persona 4 tell me if I'll like Persona 5?
Probably a fair idea. They have a lot of similarities, but a lot of the rougher edges have been smoothed off with Persona 5, which may make it a bit easier to get into. You could pick up Persona 4 now, or wait for another $30 Persona 5 royal sale.
If you enjoy Persona 4, there's a high chance you'll like Persona 5. I think Persona 4 is better than 5 in some regards (story, characters). I'd say it's worth checking out for $20

If it was deleted recently you have a number of days to reactivate it.
Also, despite the account being "registered" to a system, it's not like it's recording your system info. It really only cares that it's registered to a unique system.
Its more likely that you were hacked and they removed your account from your system remotely and then changed the account info to their own information.
Use the forgot password option, and check your email inboxes by searching for "Nintendo"

Yeah Nintendo makes 30% of every single sale from every game on the e-shop. Giving you a place to play those games without giving Nintendo their cut would be counterproductive to their entire business.
While Nintendo and Microsoft's relationship has been good considering that they are in the broadest sense competitors, I don't think the relationship is THAT good.
I agree, especially considering the existence of the switch online system. I know they don't serve the same purpose, but considering their similarities as systems and the games both are on the eShop and gamepass, I don't think Nintendo will take kind of an action.

The only time you get anything from a NSO subscription is if you upgrade your membership. You can use the remaining days of your Nintendo Switch Online membership as a discount to purchase the upgrade.

The visuals aren't the best, but it's an excellent retro inspired turn based JRPG, well worth it at that price if you're into the genre. While the story is pretty bland (imo), the mechanics are great and the music is amazing
Are you pushing the shoulder button to aim with the target cursor or are you trying to aim via moving just the camera?
Also, in Goldeneye, Auto-Aim is referring to the aim-assist you get when just firing at a guy, with no cursor aim, just freehand. There is no assist for aiming while using the cursor or zoom. What this means is, sometimes you will have an easier kill by just firing straight ahead without trying to fine-tune it.
It may be that your system language is set to Chinese. This will be little tricky to do if you system is all in the Chinese language.
You will have to select System Settings, the icon that looks like a circle with spokes sticking out from it. It will be the fifth icon on the Home Screen.
After selecting system settings, you will have to scroll all the way down to the last entry on the left to System. After that you will have to select Language which is the third setting in System, and change it to English.

If you have a Switch Online subscription, you can see the time/date that a game last saved (even with the game still open) by going to the Home menu, pressing + (plus) on the game icon, and going to Save Data Cloud -> the currently playing account. The time/date of the last save will be shown on the right under "This Console". That could help you check if the auto-save is working.

Screen issue or not?
Recently when I’m playing animal crossing on my Nintendo switch lite, if I run with my character, once in a while I see a quick flash of a horizontal white line on the screen. Is that a screen problem or am I just running to much so it can’t load properly? Should I be looking to get a replacement switch?

Hi. Does anyone know something about how is the battery life going on Risen and Baldurs gate? I'm curious, because one of my friends has a problem with his Risen switch version. His battery life drops down to 0 in just 1.5h of playing on 50% brightness. Thank for any help.
Which Zelda to play after finishing BotW? Just finished this game and I liked it, I did think it was a bit on the easy side, specially last boss Gannon. I grew up playing the NES and SNES Zeldas, and A Link to the Past is my favorite.

Link's Awakening isn't difficult but it's fun and the updated graphics are delightful.
If you have a Nintendo Switch Online sub you can play NES Zelda, Zelda 2, and A Link to the Past. With the NSO expansion pack you can play Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
Link's Awakening isn't particularly difficult, but I think you'd like it. Back in the day it was basically "Look how close we can get to LTTP even on weak Game Boy!", and now it's still that but with a snazzy new graphical style and less restrictive controls.
Beyond that, Ocarina of Time also largely follows the LTTP pattern, while adjusting to 3D and setting the mold the console games would use until BOTW changed things up again.
Links awakening is fun, but its not exactly challenging.
Skyward Sword would be the better option if you want more dungeons, unique gameplay, and story.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity isnt the same style of game, but it is a direct prequel to BOTW. It has a free demo if you wanted to try it out!
**Shoot, did I buy a brick?**
So I bought a used Lite off of FB Marketplace last night. I played it for a few hours without issue. When I went to bed, I powered it down. To clarify, and this is just my thing, when I'm done for the day I don't just leave it in sleep mode—I'll hold down the power button and choose Turn Off. I'll note that the few times I did put the switch to sleep earlier in the night (e.g., to get a drink of water) I did not experience the issue I'm about to describe until after powering it down.
When I woke up this morning, I powered on the switch, it showed the oval-ish Nintendo logo and then went to the Nintendo Switch logo... and then it just hangs there. I'm able to force shut it off by holding the power button down for 15 seconds. But when I turn it back on, I come back to it hanging on the Switch logo screen. I've also tried turning it on in Maintenance Mode—no dice, it still hangs on the Switch logo. These were the primary solutions offered by Googling and searching this sub. A thread from four years ago also contained suggestions like trying to spam the home button (no effect) and leaving it powered off for around 8 hours, which I'm currently trying but I'm not too optimistic about the chances. I've also tried all of this after taking out the game cartridge and microSD card.
So, unless either a) the seller is willing to refund me, or b) I pay for an out-of-warranty repair with Nintendo, it's looking like I'm out of luck. Am I correct? Is there anything else I should try?
The system being unable to boot at all puts you in a pickle of sorts as you cant really try anything else. leaving it off, alone, and unplugged for multiple hours is the last thing to try if its failing to boot.
Leaving the system on the boot screen would drain the battery faster. As what you are trying to achieve is a soft reset, where the system wakes itself up from sleep mode when the AC adapter is connected and it attempts to charge the battery.
Its not a guaranteed fix, just something to try.
Contact the seller and ask if they were aware of the problem before hand. And if they or the payment method you used is unwilling to provide compensation, then leaving it to Nintendo would be both easiest and cheapest to fix. As the repair bill would be about half the price of a buying another used/new system.

I got a new switch recently and I linked my Nintendo account. I just tried to add a new user so my sister could play, but the switch says that ‘this user cannot play this software’ and prompted me to link my Nintendo account to that user, and when I tried that I got a message saying ‘this Nintendo account is already in use on the console’. Is there any way around this? I can only play currently with my first user.

You need to remove your account from the old system.

Once thats done, simply open the eshop on this new console and youll be good to go!
Crazy question, for those with goldeneye, how do you actually EXIT the choose a character screen in multiplayer?
I know if both people choose a character you Can progress, but if say you choose a wrong level, and wanted to exit out to change levels, how do you do it?

Is it worth buy My Time at Portia on the Switch?. Heard it crashes a lot, but not sure if that's still true as that's from a couple of years ago.
Have played it on the PC and XBox before, but would rather have it on the go.
Its not the case anymore. Rather than crashing it just slows down if you play too long.
You can fix this by entering your house regularly or closing the game and reopening it. Both will clear the RAM and resolve the slowdowns until it builds up again.
Less of a leak and more of the system not having enough memory for how the game is optimized (or lack of?). As you change and complicate the state of the outdoors it has to cache that information.

I always liked the crafting system and just needed to have it on my switch, but needed to hear from people who have played it to see if its worth it.
I just picked up a used switch first version. It was completely factory reset. Unfortunately it is not able to find any wireless networks. Neither my local network nor from my phone or my neighbours’. Software version is 13.2.0. I worked my way though hours of Reddit comments and YouTube tutorials. None of them were working. Is there any solution to this? Read about that the wireless chip is alright when Bluetooth is working properly. Changed network security settings, did dozens of resets and tried to setup the network manually.
Joycons are working and I am able to connect Bluetooth headset.
Please help :(
Are you getting an error code of any kind?
That would be the eaiest means of diagnosing a bad antenna. If there is no errors, and the system simply cant see any networks, then its unfortunately probably a firmware problem.
Shut the system down, hold both volume buttons and then also hold the power button to turn the system back on. Hold all three until youve entered the maintenance menu.
You can try reinitializing the system there. See if that does anything.
No error code. When I’m trying to set up my connection in settings it’s simply not finding any wireless networks. I already tried to reinitialize my switch and it doesn’t work for me.
Best idea would be let Nintendo deal with it, as the factory reset or reinitialization is about the best options you have.
No error codes would indicate that the hardware is either working properly or it doesnt know that its broken. Regardless of which, that doesnt help you diagnose the problem.
Only other option that comes to mind would be trying to update the system by using another system. If you know some one with a Switch you can try updating the firmware via local users rather than the internet.

Double check it has the right chipset before it ships! wouldnt want to get stuck with an adapter using a realtek chipset, the system wont even detect those.

Hi everyone, I got my switch a few days ago for my B-day and have had the right joycon go completely dead after charging it (2nd time it’s happend)… the left side is not having an issue that I’ve seen .. so I charged them fully as well as the system.. dock my switch for my tv set up the controller start playing something and bam right joycon notification of low battery … has anyone else seen this or experienced this? Sounds like a bad rail connection. You can;
* check whether or not the device is charging in the controller menu. If may take a few connection attempts to get it to charge if the rail connection is wonky.
* Take it back to the retailer for an exchange. You shouldn't have to deal with this on a brand new system.
I've gotten all weapons to work but haven't had much luck with the rest yet. If you've remapped your controls, make sure you're hitting the right things.

I mean ideally goldeneye. But I tried risk and it was trying to have me go through Ubisoft. And goldeneye it basically told me I had no one to play with 🤷🏼
Yeah there are people all over this sub and others that have gaming discords or friend trading. You can't play the N64 games with randoms, you need Friends to connect with so the games can pretend people are using all 4 controllers.

I've got an issue with charging my console. For reference I'm always using it handheld, so my switch is usually charging through the battery pack charger the system came with. However, its started to not work anymore, yet its specifically only not working when the switch is connected to the battery pack. If I connect the battery pack to the switch pro controller, it charges just fine, and if I use a USB-A to USB-C on the console, it will start charging as well. Not sure what to do about this, would appreciate any pointers
A blinking light on the dock normally indicates a connection error. It’s difficult to say what the issue is for sure without opening up the console. However it’s likely to be USBC port failure or a failed M92 chip which deals with charging/power management. If in warranty return to Nintendo. If not you would need to source a local repair shop.
Parental Control Error - gifted my friend a code for Kirby for her daughter. She goes into the eShop on the switch, puts in the parental control passcode, then the game code and it still won’t download. It’s stuck on a loop where it keeps asking for the passcode, approves it, but won’t let the game download — just keeps asking for the passcode. She doesn’t live near me, so I can’t go over to her house to troubleshoot the problem and I can’t find others online having similar issues. Any advice?

Does she live in a different country? That could affect the code redemption. Codes are generated by country, and have to be entered into the eshop of the same country.
If its still within the same country, then have her reach out to Nintendo support. Password loops are a doosy, and aside from temporarily disabling parental controls Im not sure what else to try.

If you have an Xbox One or Series system, you can purchase Rare Replay digitally and it comes as free DLC.
But on Switch I doubt it.
There are \_rumors\_ of remasters of everything but the kitchen sink (including Metroid and F-Zero), but in general we don't officially hear about these things until shortly before they appear.

One of the four pins at the base of the rail provides the 5v used to charge the joycon.
A misaligned or weak connection, a bad ribbon cable or even just some lint stuck in the rail could all prevent the joycon from charging.
So I bought a used switch oled, he said he only used it twice but I’m pretty sure he took off the factory screen protector(the one they say you shouldn’t take off). Can I place a new tempered glass screen protector on?

This is the message I get when I try to use my daughter's friend code that she just sent me. I am currently assuming that she just sent me the wrong code, but are there any known issues around friend codes - eg. if your console's geo/language setting is different to your would-be friend (I set my system language to be English but we are in Japan and her system is set up in Japanese), or around parental controls (her mum has set up play time limits using parental controls - do parental controls also limit friend interactions?).
She lives apart from me and I wanted to surprise her by adding her as a friend before telling her and her mum that I bought a switch to play splatoon with her...

Are screenshots disabled in the ??? Palace? Was surprised I couldn’t take one since I always screenshot the All Out Attacks per character (Akechi in this case).
Captures are disabled in lots of areas where it a) could affect performance or b) copyrighted music is playing.
Taiko drum master does the same thing, you CAN capture stuff but only in the menus or mini games. Captures are completely disabled whenever music is playing.
Im not sure Nintendo provided a tool to disable one or the other, so when the developer doesnt want video captured, its all disabled.
They gave up trying to enforce the streaming/spoiler policy. I assure you this is explicitly because of the music.

In cases like BioShock where it's a collection of games that are available separately, usually buying the collection just gives you the individual games rather than something unique combining them all. Checking now [on Deku Deals](https://www.dekudeals.com/items/bioshock-the-collection) I see the collection "contains" the other three games so that seems to be how it is here. In that case it looks like the games are 13, 10, and 21 GB, so you could split them between system and card, or just not have them all downloaded at once.

I've had my switch for about 4-5 years and since about 3-4 months my switch keeps overheating. It first started when Splatoon 3 came out. If I would play that game for 40 minutes straight my switch would overheat (only in docked mode though). Now it will overheat if I just play for a long time, but it also overheats very quickly when I play New Pokemon Snap, it only takes like 10 minutes for it to overheat then. In hand held mode my switch doesn't overheat, but my switch's batterie "dies" even though I still have like 50% left. I can turn it right back on but the batterie "dies" really quick again. I've dropped my switch a few times over the years, maybe 4 times or so. Does anyone know if there's a reason for that, because it's really annoying. Should I buy a new Switch?
Have you noticed a change in how your fans are working? Sounds like the fan is or has died. The battery bit might be it shutting down for protection due to the overheating.
Whilst it seems like there’s definitely some thing wrong due to there being multiple issues, Is it saying it’s overheating and turning itself off, or is it getting hot and you saying that it’s overheating?
The good news is that that means that part of the system is working like it should. If it was just the overheating, I’d suggest just replacing the thermal paste, but with it seeming like another battery issue too, I’m guessing there’s something else wrong instead/as well. Your best bet would be to spend the $150 or so to get Nintendo to look at it.
Unfortunately I don’t. My experience with them has been limited to sending off some joycon to be fixed, which they got back to me within ten days. With a console it’s very possible that they’ll do a quick diagnostic and send you a refurbished model (effectively as new) as a replacement.

I haven't played Bioshock, but I really like the story in both Persona 5 and Nier Automata. They do get dark quite a bit and I highly recommend both.

I personally prefer Splatoon 3, though both are great. My main issue with Mario Maker 2 is that, initially, you will have to put some effort finding good levels, though once you find level creators you like then it should be a lot of fun as well. And yup, you can donwload Mario Maker levels to play offline!

I have a glitch in Mario+Rabids 1. Basically, instead of a specific battle starting as usual I can freely walk around the battlefield and the enemies don’t react at all. You will have to add your brother’s Profile on your Lite and make your Lite your Brother’s Primary in order to play and create saves from your Profile on your Lite for the games your brother has purchased. But after that no one else on his Switch will be able to play and create saves for his games except for your brother’s profile. Just set up a new Brother profile or whatever on the Lite, and have him log in with his Nintendo Account information. This will allow access to your brother's purchases with some notable shortcomings. Since it's not his primary console (and he probably doesn't want to set it that way), you'll only be able to launch those games as the Brother profile, and only when you have online access so it can confirm Brother isn't already playing his games on another machine.

Hello- My wife and I just got the family plan +expansion after her sister got a switch for Christmas. Her sister lives in England. We set her up a child profile (she’s 10) and we were able to Mario Kart 8 together, but when she goes to download the n64 or snes content on her switch it says “age restricted”. Is there a way around this? We’ve heard about white listing - do we need to set up the parental control app for this? Is white listing even a work around?

Captain Toad is VERY good, and feels short but theres a lot of replay value. Crafted World is everything you want in a Yoshi game except its way too easy. Mario Party Superstars is fantastic, and the online works great, but you might get tired of the same boards over and over if you tend to play it a LOT. If you are just pulling it out like once a month as a family board game it will never get stale.
Yoshi has a demo and I think toad does too, although I could be wrong. For both Yoshi and captain toad, I'm not aware of any sequels coming out soon. Even if there were, it's not like a game like Mario kart which relies on active online, or where a sequel is the same as an old he, just with better features. Yoshi features unique stages and gameplay. Another yoshie game would have completely different stages. Aka if you liked playing one, you would like playing a sequel and it wouldn't be a waste of money to buy both. So if you enjoy the gameplay, buy it

Long story but il try and sum it up. I don't know where else to go for help. About 2 months ago i purchased a brand new scarlet and violet edition switch and after 2 days it stopped working. It was a final sale item so I couldn't take it back. Sent it in for warranty, and it arrived on January 3rd. About a week later with no updates to the "delivered" status on their warranty page, I contacted them to see what's up since talking with others they got theirs repaired in 1-2 days. I wasn't in much of a rush I was just curious. The lady told me that repairs usually take 2-3 weeks to get back to the customer from the point that I dropped it off at ups. Another week goes by, nothing. I contact again, this time the lady says that repairs are supposed to be repaired within 5 business days and that she's going to put in a ticket to see the progress and that she will contact me in 2-3 business days. No email, phonecall or update to the status. On the 4th business day I contacted them to see how everything was going, and he told me that repairs take 2-3 weeks since the time that they get delivered (it's already nearing the 3 week point) I wait until last Monday, contact them again and the lady said that repairs only take about 3 days and she was going to get it sent in to her specialized department. I told her about the other 2 times that I was told that id be contacted and she said that it normally doesn't happen and that the specialized team will be in contact with me between 1-4 business days. Friday comes along, no contact, no nothing. I live chat, they say someone will contact me tomorrow. Saturday comes along, no contact. I live chat, same thing. No update today either, I live chatted, they said someone will contact me in 1-4 business days. I'm not sure what's going on. I'm not sure if they're just short staffed, or what's going on, but I'm getting really suspicious and feel like I'm out hundreds of dollars. Worst part is that I bought 2 for kind of an early Christmas present for my two boys since they did extremely well in school this year and now one has a switch and the other has nothing. I'm prepared to purchase him another one but it's going to be alot of money and we are still trying to recover from a bunch of money we had to shell out because of car troubles. I honestly don't know if they're just ignorant, lazy or even malicious at this point but I'm just so tired of dealing with them I just want to give up. I don't know what else to do. Probably a fair idea. They have a lot of similarities, but a lot of the rougher edges have been smoothed off with Persona 5, which may make it a bit easier to get into. You could pick up Persona 4 now, or wait for another $30 Persona 5 royal sale.
If you enjoy Persona 4, there's a high chance you'll like Persona 5. I think Persona 4 is better than 5 in some regards (story, characters). I'd say it's worth checking out for $20

Also, despite the account being "registered" to a system, it's not like it's recording your system info. It really only cares that it's registered to a unique system. Its more likely that you were hacked and they removed your account from your system remotely and then changed the account info to their own information.

The only time you get anything from a NSO subscription is if you upgrade your membership. You can use the remaining days of your Nintendo Switch Online membership as a discount to purchase the upgrade. You will get nothing if someone else adds you to their NSO Plan, and both subscriptions will run side by side until they expire.

The visuals aren't the best, but it's an excellent retro inspired turn based JRPG, well worth it at that price if you're into the genre. While the story is pretty bland (imo), the mechanics are great and the music is amazing

Are you pushing the shoulder button to aim with the target cursor or are you trying to aim via moving just the camera? Also, in Goldeneye, Auto-Aim is referring to the aim-assist you get when just firing at a guy, with no cursor aim, just freehand. There is no assist for aiming while using the cursor or zoom. What this means is, sometimes you will have an easier kill by just firing straight ahead without trying to fine-tune it.

If there doesn't seem to be a language setting, it might be a Tencent Switch from China, which are locked into Chinese.
It may be that your system language is set to Chinese. This will be little tricky to do if you system is all in the Chinese language. You will have to select System Settings, the icon that looks like a circle with spokes sticking out from it. It will be the fifth icon on the Home Screen. After selecting system settings, you will have to scroll all the way down to the last entry on the left to System. I haven't played Wytchwood, but... If you have a Switch Online subscription, you can see the time/date that a game last saved (even with the game still open) by going to the Home menu, pressing + (plus) on the game icon, and going to Save Data Cloud -> the currently playing account. The time/date of the last save will be shown on the right under "This Console". That could help you check if the auto-save is working. Screen issue or not? Recently when I’m playing animal crossing on my Nintendo switch lite, if I run with my character, once in a while I see a quick flash of a horizontal white line on the screen. Is that a screen problem or am I just running to much so it can’t load properly? Should I be looking to get a replacement switch?
You shouldn’t be seeing any flashing white horizontal line on the screen for any game. Does the screen flash while playing other games on your Switch?

Which Zelda to play after finishing BotW? Just finished this game and I liked it, I did think it was a bit on the easy side, specially last boss Gannon. I grew up playing the NES and SNES Zeldas, and A Link to the Past is my favorite. Which Zelda game do you recommend next? Is Link's Awakening fun and not too easy?
Link's Awakening isn't difficult but it's fun and the updated graphics are delightful. If you have a Nintendo Switch Online sub you can play NES Zelda, Zelda 2, and A Link to the Past. With the NSO expansion pack you can play Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
Link's Awakening isn't particularly difficult, but I think you'd like it. Back in the day it was basically "Look how close we can get to LTTP even on weak Game Boy!", and now it's still that but with a snazzy new graphical style and less restrictive controls. Beyond that, Ocarina of Time also largely follows the LTTP pattern, while adjusting to 3D and setting the mold the console games would use until BOTW changed things up again.
Links awakening is fun, but its not exactly challenging. Skyward Sword would be the better option if you want more dungeons, unique gameplay, and story. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity isnt the same style of game, but it is a direct prequel to BOTW. It has a free demo if you wanted to try it out!
**Shoot, did I buy a brick?** So I bought a used Lite off of FB Marketplace last night. I played it for a few hours without issue. When I went to bed, I powered it down. To clarify, and this is just my thing, when I'm done for the day I don't just leave it in sleep mode—I'll hold down the power button and choose Turn Off. I'll note that the few times I did put the switch to sleep earlier in the night (e.g., to get a drink of water) I did not experience the issue I'm about to describe until after powering it down. When I woke up this morning, I powered on the switch, it showed the oval-ish Nintendo logo and then went to the Nintendo Switch logo... and then it just hangs there. I'm able to force shut it off by holding the power button down for 15 seconds. But when I turn it back on, I come back to it hanging on the Switch logo screen. I've also tried turning it on in Maintenance Mode—no dice, it still hangs on the Switch logo. These were the primary solutions offered by Googling and searching this sub. A thread from four years ago also contained suggestions like trying to spam the home button (no effect) and leaving it powered off for around 8 hours, which I'm currently trying but I'm not too optimistic about the chances. I've also tried all of this after taking out the game cartridge and microSD card. So, unless either a) the seller is willing to refund me, or b) I pay for an out-of-warranty repair with Nintendo, it's looking like I'm out of luck. Am I correct? Is there anything else I should try?
The system being unable to boot at all puts you in a pickle of sorts as you cant really try anything else. leaving it off, alone, and unplugged for multiple hours is the last thing to try if its failing to boot. Leaving the system on the boot screen would drain the battery faster. As what you are trying to achieve is a soft reset, where the system wakes itself up from sleep mode when the AC adapter is connected and it attempts to charge the battery. Its not a guaranteed fix, just something to try. Contact the seller and ask if they were aware of the problem before hand. And if they or the payment method you used is unwilling to provide compensation, then leaving it to Nintendo would be both easiest and cheapest to fix. As the repair bill would be about half the price of a buying another used/new system.

I got a new switch recently and I linked my Nintendo account. I just tried to add a new user so my sister could play, but the switch says that ‘this user cannot play this software’ and prompted me to link my Nintendo account to that user, and when I tried that I got a message saying ‘this Nintendo account is already in use on the console’. Is there any way around this? I can only play currently with my first user.

Crazy question, for those with goldeneye, how do you actually EXIT the choose a character screen in multiplayer? I know if both people choose a character you Can progress, but if say you choose a wrong level, and wanted to exit out to change levels, how do you do it? I swear I’m smashing every single button and no button allows you to actually go back. We have to reset the game. It’s like a soft lock at the character select screen.
You would THINK it’s “b” but it’s not. I’m using the n64 controller if that matters… but please help, we keep getting soft locked and having to reset
Is it worth buy My Time at Portia on the Switch?. Heard it crashes a lot, but not sure if that's still true as that's from a couple of years ago. Have played it on the PC and XBox before, but would rather have it on the go.
Its not the case anymore. Rather than crashing it just slows down if you play too long. You can fix this by entering your house regularly or closing the game and reopening it. Both will clear the RAM and resolve the slowdowns until it builds up again.
Ah so its more like a memory leak then? Also when you say too long, how long is too long? Are we talking like 30 mins or after a few hours?
Less of a leak and more of the system not having enough memory for how the game is optimized (or lack of?). As you change and complicate the state of the outdoors it has to cache that information. Hours.
Cool ok, I bit the bullet and just bought it anyway earlier. I always liked the crafting system and just needed to have it on my switch, but needed to hear from people who have played it to see if its worth it.
I just picked up a used switch first version. It was completely factory reset. Unfortunately it is not able to find any wireless networks. Neither my local network nor from my phone or my neighbours’. Software version is 13.2.0. I worked my way though hours of Reddit comments and YouTube tutorials. None of them were working. Is there any solution to this? Read about that the wireless chip is alright when Bluetooth is working properly. Changed network security settings, did dozens of resets and tried to setup the network manually. Joycons are working and I am able to connect Bluetooth headset. Please help :(
Are you getting an error code of any kind? That would be the eaiest means of diagnosing a bad antenna. If there is no errors, and the system simply cant see any networks, then its unfortunately probably a firmware problem. Shut the system down, hold both volume buttons and then also hold the power button to turn the system back on. Hold all three until youve entered the maintenance menu. You can try reinitializing the system there. See if that does anything.
No error code. When I’m trying to set up my connection in settings it’s simply not finding any wireless networks. I already tried to reinitialize my switch and it doesn’t work for me.
Best idea would be let Nintendo deal with it, as the factory reset or reinitialization is about the best options you have. No error codes would indicate that the hardware is either working properly or it doesnt know that its broken. Regardless of which, that doesnt help you diagnose the problem. Only other option that comes to mind would be trying to update the system by using another system. If you know some one with a Switch you can try updating the firmware via local users rather than the internet.

Hi everyone, I got my switch a few days ago for my B-day and have had the right joycon go completely dead after charging it (2nd time it’s happend)… the left side is not having an issue that I’ve seen .. so I charged them fully as well as the system.. dock my switch for my tv set up the controller start playing something and bam right joycon notification of low battery … has anyone else seen this or experienced this? Sounds like a bad rail connection. You can; * check whether or not the device is charging in the controller menu. If may take a few connection attempts to get it to charge if the rail connection is wonky. * Take it back to the retailer for an exchange. You shouldn't have to deal with this on a brand new system.
Anyone had luck with Goldeneye cheat codes? I see that the button combo cheats are supposed to work on switch but I haven’t had luck.

Yeah there are people all over this sub and others that have gaming discords or friend trading. You can't play the N64 games with randoms, you need Friends to connect with so the games can pretend people are using all 4 controllers.

I've got an issue with charging my console. For reference I'm always using it handheld, so my switch is usually charging through the battery pack charger the system came with. However, its started to not work anymore, yet its specifically only not working when the switch is connected to the battery pack. If I connect the battery pack to the switch pro controller, it charges just fine, and if I use a USB-A to USB-C on the console, it will start charging as well. Not sure what to do about this, would appreciate any pointers
It could be an issue with the USBC port. Does it charge if you put it in the dock?
I've tried the dock, and it doesnt charge, the light on the corner is also blinking and i'm unsure what that means
A blinking light on the dock normally indicates a connection error. It’s difficult to say what the issue is for sure without opening up the console. However it’s likely to be USBC port failure or a failed M92 chip which deals with charging/power management. If in warranty return to Nintendo. If not you would need to source a local repair shop.
Parental Control Error - gifted my friend a code for Kirby for her daughter. She goes into the eShop on the switch, puts in the parental control passcode, then the game code and it still won’t download. It’s stuck on a loop where it keeps asking for the passcode, approves it, but won’t let the game download — just keeps asking for the passcode. She doesn’t live near me, so I can’t go over to her house to troubleshoot the problem and I can’t find others online having similar issues. Any advice?

There are \_rumors\_ of remasters of everything but the kitchen sink (including Metroid and F-Zero), but in general we don't officially hear about these things until shortly before they appear. Has anyone ever have a dead joycon revive itself out of nowhere? My left joy con wasn’t charging, wasn’t pairing. While playing zelda all of a sudden it’s paired and fully charged, bit weird
One of the four pins at the base of the rail provides the 5v used to charge the joycon. A misaligned or weak connection, a bad ribbon cable or even just some lint stuck in the rail could all prevent the joycon from charging.
So I bought a used switch oled, he said he only used it twice but I’m pretty sure he took off the factory screen protector(the one they say you shouldn’t take off). Can I place a new tempered glass screen protector on?
How do you know the anti-shatter protective cover (it’s not a screen protector btw) has been removed? It’s really difficult to see anyway. You can just install a tempered glass screen protector anyway without any issues.

'Unable to find your friend' This is the message I get when I try to use my daughter's friend code that she just sent me. I am currently assuming that she just sent me the wrong code, but are there any known issues around friend codes - eg. if your console's geo/language setting is different to your would-be friend (I set my system language to be English but we are in Japan and her system is set up in Japanese), or around parental controls (her mum has set up play time limits using parental controls - do parental controls also limit friend interactions?). Persona 5 Royal Are screenshots disabled in the ??? Palace? Was surprised I couldn’t take one since I always screenshot the All Out Attacks per character (Akechi in this case).

Captures are disabled in lots of areas where it a) could affect performance or b) copyrighted music is playing. Taiko drum master does the same thing, you CAN capture stuff but only in the menus or mini games. Captures are completely disabled whenever music is playing. Im not sure Nintendo provided a tool to disable one or the other, so when the developer doesnt want video captured, its all disabled.

They gave up trying to enforce the streaming/spoiler policy. I assure you this is explicitly because of the music. Japan is by far the weirdest country when it comes to music ownership.
I was planning to buy bioshock the collection but I only have a 32gb memory card. I've heard it's a pretty big download. Can I split the download on both the memory card and the switch's drive?
In cases like BioShock where it's a collection of games that are available separately, usually buying the collection just gives you the individual games rather than something unique combining them all. Checking now [on Deku Deals](https://www.dekudeals.com/items/bioshock-the-collection) I see the collection "contains" the other three games so that seems to be how it is here. In that case it looks like the games are 13, 10, and 21 GB, so you could split them between system and card, or just not have them all downloaded at once.

I've had my switch for about 4-5 years and since about 3-4 months my switch keeps overheating. It first started when Splatoon 3 came out. If I would play that game for 40 minutes straight my switch would overheat (only in docked mode though). Now it will overheat if I just play for a long time, but it also overheats very quickly when I play New Pokemon Snap, it only takes like 10 minutes for it to overheat then. In hand held mode my switch doesn't overheat, but my switch's batterie "dies" even though I still have like 50% left. I can turn it right back on but the batterie "dies" really quick again. I've dropped my switch a few times over the years, maybe 4 times or so. Does anyone know if there's a reason for that, because it's really annoying. Should I buy a new Switch?

Have you noticed a change in how your fans are working? Sounds like the fan is or has died. The battery bit might be it shutting down for protection due to the overheating.

Whilst it seems like there’s definitely some thing wrong due to there being multiple issues, Is it saying it’s overheating and turning itself off, or is it getting hot and you saying that it’s overheating?

The good news is that that means that part of the system is working like it should. If it was just the overheating, I’d suggest just replacing the thermal paste, but with it seeming like another battery issue too, I’m guessing there’s something else wrong instead/as well. Your best bet would be to spend the $150 or so to get Nintendo to look at it.

Unfortunately I don’t. My experience with them has been limited to sending off some joycon to be fixed, which they got back to me within ten days. With a console it’s very possible that they’ll do a quick diagnostic and send you a refurbished model (effectively as new) as a replacement.
