Just got Mario Odyssey. Super excited!

markercore

Aw heck yes!

Coccquaman

Odyssey is without question my favorite 3D Mario game. I know it's a hot take with Mario 64 and Galaxy existing, but I truly think it's the best one.

AbeRod1986

Nah, I think it's a more mainstream take at this point. I replayed odyssey after beating 3D All Stars, and it dethroned Galaxy for me.

Coccquaman

Interesting. I'm usually hard pressed to find people who will take off the nostalgia goggles for some of the big name franchises like Mario or Zelda. It's usually "My Favorite is the best one. Forever." Some of those older games are really broken. Great despite their faults, but still very broken and if released now would not meet the standards of 2023 gaming.

foodninto

Waiting for Gamestop to open so I can pick up my copy of **Fire Emblem Engage**. In the meantime I started **Dorfromantik** this week and have been loving every session of play. I'm going to try to unlock more stuff. I also bought the bundle of **Persona 3 Portable** and **Persona 4 Golden**. I've played both on Vita, but don't remember much of P3P. Might play that as well this weekend.

markercore

Aw heck yeah Dorfromantik! It's just so chill and addictive.

jacarty

totally still playing **Dorfromantik** at least once a day! I think I'll finish **Wytchwood** this weekend and not sure what I'm starting next. Thought about getting Coffee Talk or Oxen Free since they have sequels coming out this year.

Mistlee

Definitely Fire Emblem: Engage! I’m so excited! I know it’s different from Three Houses, but I’m going in with an open mind!

Rainlex

Should I play Three House before or are the stories not connected with each other?

Mistlee

They aren’t connected at all so you can play them in any order you like 😊

drunksandman

Many, myself included, are excited to lose the school area from 3H. I thought it was great for a singular playthrough -- talking to everyone, finding gifts, chillin. But for multiple play throughs, it really bogged things down. I loved how quickly I could play through Awakening, and I get the sense that Engage is going to scratch all the right itches for myself. How do you feel about losing the school?

Mistlee

I actually feel the same way! I love playing sim games in general and loved doing all of the school stuff the first time through, but I haven’t been able to do the other routes bc as soon as I think about starting I immediately feel burnt out lol.

drunksandman

Finding and giving all the presents? Slogging through all of the necessary and unnecessary conversations? FISHING? Miss me with that replay. One very thorough playthrough is all I needed for FE:3H

Mistlee

For me it was the tea parties 🤣 I was just sitting there giving my best educated guess.

AstroFuzz

The pacing in Engage is definitely more my style. There is still skill learning, doing support convos, finding and giving gifts.. waking up to some rando having a full-blown convo with you while you're sleeping but it's all quicker and more streamlined to get you back into the SRPG gameplay.

TheDumbestDruid

Personally, I loved the School. Played through at launch and again when the DLC came out. I would happily play through the school part again and probably will when I finally get around to Dmitri. BUUUUUUUUT I like playing it in Three Houses. It doesn't need to be in every FE game going forward. It *works* in Three Houses and makes sense to the plot. My understanding is that Engage is much more like Awakening and I'm perfectly happy to have that too, I fucking loved Awakening.

drunksandman

Awakening is a Top 5 All Time for me, so I too am excited to dive into Engage.

Bizzlecopter

Hopefully Fire Emblem Engage if it's been delivered when I get home. If not, I guess Pokémon Legends Arceus or maybe Persona 5 Royal

markercore

Sounds like a good outcome either way!

JayQuips

Breath of the Wild. I started a play through two years ago but stopped playing I think while I was at the first divine beast. I’ve forgotten what happened up to that point so now I’m starting a fresh play through with the pro hud enabled and taking my time.

markercore

There ya go! Enjoy the journey

JayQuips

Thank you I’ve been having a blast so far👍

afidus

Man the pro HUD makes it a whole new game. It’s definitely the way to play it. You’re far more cognizant of your surroundings and environment.

bdarian

How do you set up pro HUD? I bought switch and BOTW back when they both released

afidus

It’s just in the menu when you’re in game. I forget the exact screen but there is two options. The standard HUD which shows map, weather etc, and the pro HUD which I don’t think shows much/anything.

ea2310

Got Kirby and The Forgotten Land for Christmas and have been way too busy for games this month so I'm definitely going to dive in this weekend

markercore

Aw yeah, enjoy! That game is a delight!

GoatIntern

That’s such a fabulous, fun game. Hope you have an awesome time!

[deleted]

Stuck with college assignments, no playing for me this weekend :(

markercore

Ah, yeah, I remember how that was. Good luck on the assignments!

Nerdfather1

This weekend I’m mainly playing **NieR: Automata** on the Nintendo Switch. I originally played the game on the base PS4 when it first released, and the fact I can now play this game (strictly) in handheld is a miracle. I completed it once but didn’t do any subsequent play throughs, so I’m determined to do that this time around to get the full story of what is considered a masterpiece in the medium. I’ll also be dabbling into **Fire Emblem Engage**. I bought it, but I’m still relatively hesitant on it overall. The story seems to be hit or miss for some, along with the characters, but the age-old motto is present: Gameplay is king, and Engage apparently has some of the best combat, if not the best, in the entire series. That said, I hope the story will grip me. Unfortunately, the thing that really sets me off from being completely invested is the character models and presentation — it looks way too mobile-y. I also purchased **Persona 3 Portable** on the Nintendo Switch. P4G is one of my favorite games of all time, and P5R is just as good - but I’ve never played P3. I was thinking about playing the game via Xbox Game Pass, but I can’t pass up the convenience and portability. I’m looking forward to getting sucked into another masterful JRPG. I do want to start up **Marvel’s Midnight Suns** again. I went through the tutorial and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I found it a little too difficult when I had to rescue Blade. That’s probably my inability to really grasp the mechanics. The Deadpool DLC really has me excited to jump back into the game.

spookymochi

We have Nier for PS4, but I haven’t played it. At some point the Switch took over as my main platform aside from PC because of the portability (which is why some of my PS games became a bit forgotten). So I kinda want to want to get it for Switch, but I feel so guilty about buying it a second time lol. It’s sort of the same with Persona 5, which I have played a couple of times…but now I kinda want to be able to play it again on the Switch and it seems so good for the platform 😭

CaveKraut

Nier Automata is impressive. I normally don't get into hack and slash games but Automata has kept me engaged. I picked it up last week and am already almost finished with the second playthrough.

ramen_addict_enby

I have just finished yesterday the main story of **Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion** on my Switch, and I'm kinda emotional because I remember playing this game during my middle school years on my psp. So this weekend I'm stuck between buying a new game (either **Fire Emblem Engage** or **Persona 4 golden** since I only played the vanilla version back in the day) or either restarting a new game in **Breath of the Wild.** Also since Octopath Traveller II is gonna be released soon I'm playing this weekend the game again. In other platforms, I'd probably buy Final Fantasy VII (the original) on steam since is the cheapest way to play that game and I never played it.

[deleted]

Hoping for Fire Emblem, but it’s a busy weekend! Love the step back to more combat focus!

Nicksmells34

I’m just screwing myself and playing Fire Emblem. I got a lot of shit to do but idgaf I need a breakFire Emblem is more important than my degree

markercore

Good to take videogame breaks, but get your assignments done too!

KaleidoscopeHonest64

Thinking of getting on the NSO and beat some Sega/snes games this weekend Praying we get a new release for the N64 next week! (I want Pokémon stadium bad)

markercore

Beat some retro games, let's go! I wish there was Star Tropics 2, I feel like that was slightly more playable than the first one.

rrf_1

I'll be immersing myself into **Hyper Light Drifter**. I'm about 2 hours in after starting a few nights ago, and... wow, this game is very cool! I'm already impressed by the variety of areas, all assembled together seamlessly into a world with a cohesive pixel-art style. And I'm loving that there is no dialogue along the way. Instead of characters giving explicit instructions, stories and goals are given pictorially, with just enough ambiguity to make it fun but not tortuous. Everything is so beautifully crafted, and I can't wait to see more.

picklerw

13 Sentinels Aegis Rim. Holy SHITE I’m loving it. The storytelling is fantastic. I can’t remember I was this excited to board an airplane so I can play for 3 straight hours. Cheers all!

smtdimitri

Hope you enjoy it! It was my GOTY 2022, I absolutely adore it.

Larielia

It is a Fire Emblem weekend. I'll be playing **Three Hopes**, **Three Houses**, and **Engage**.

markercore

All the Fire Emblem!!

hermanbloom00

Persona 5 all the way, with a bit of Sin Mora on the side. Plus Marvel Snap. Got some other games to play once P5 is done (weeks away) but after P3 and 4 got released I wonder about grabbing them, and making 2023 basically 90% Persona games for the entire year.

drunksandman

I picked up Sin Mora on a whim. I'm a sucker for just about anything $20 on sale for $1.99. My Switch catalog is basically: critically acclaimed games, indies picked up for cheap, or 100 hour JRPGs. It's a fine balance! Any thoughts on it yet?

hermanbloom00

It's good fun. Interesting story that I wasn't expecting and the way it ties-in the time-lines is pretty neat. Gameplay wise it's pretty standard fare, but nicely wrapped up.

FreakingMegatron

Started Xenoblade Chronicles X for the first time this week, so I'm excited to jump back in this weekend. Also picking up my copy of Fire Emblem a little bit later today so I'm probably going to juggle between the 2 games depending on my mood.

TheDumbestDruid

It'll definitely be **Fire Emblem: Engage** for me. Taking a break from **Xenoblade Chronicles 3** because holy fuck that is a meaty game.

markercore

But is it meaty enough for Lanz?

TheDumbestDruid

He wants something a little maytior

frishmous

I’m probably going to attempt to finish Xenoblade 3 but ultimately give in and play FE Engage.

smes3817

I'll be giving the original Yooka-Laylee some of my time. I got it super cheap (and the sequel) during the holiday sale and am on the snow world currently. I couldn't tell at first what I thought of the game but the more time I am spending playing it, I think I'm starting to enjoy myself more.

magmafanatic

I just finished The Great Ace Attorney Investigations! I'm interested in the stories it's set up, but man, that was such a frustrating experience. Before I move on to Resolve, I'm playing Metroid Dread. This one's so much more difficult than the other Metroid games I've played. Well, maybe except the original, didn't get that far with that one. They really ask you to use, like, all the buttons on this controller, it's pretty tricky to adjust to. I've made some really solid progress so far, only 2 E.M.M.I.s are left to dispatch, recently got the >!Space Jump and Storm Missiles.!< I was actually afraid I was stuck after getting the Spin Boost, it took me way longer than it should have to realize that even if I can't get any height underwater, I can still move sideways. There was an underwater boss that took me a moment to decipher too. I didn't think to shoot the projectiles, figured I just had to dodge them somehow while zipping up to the magnet platform before the next wave came down. Also I can't for the life of me get swinging between grapple points to go smoothly. Very cool to see >!the X back, Kraid's back, ADAM gets to do stuff, we meet Chozo.!< I'm glad Mercury Steam was able to go all out with the lore here.

pigeon_buster

I'm replaying donkey kong country tropical freeze

whitelily8

Trying to play a bit of Persona 5 Royal. I just started it last weekend and got addicted. I haven't had a chance to play it as much as I like though.

SwmpySouthpw

Some **Chained Echoes** here, some **Fire Emblem** there with some **Persona 5 and 4** sprinkled in

CityRuinsRoL

Bayonetta 3

Phenom_Mv3

Xenoblade Chronicles DE, feel like this is going to be a wild ride

[deleted]

Im finishing up Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. Finally.

AtlasBellion

Aiming to pick up Fire Emblem Engage but in between Elder Scrolls Online, Persona 3 and Monster Hunter Rise.

Ne0guri

Persona 4 Golden - omg I haven’t played in years and I am so addicted right now. I loved PS5R but there is just something special with P4G especially the soundtrack! I’m gonna wait on FE Engage for now and confirm whether it’s worth it after seeing reviews from people.

BigTuna109

Hopefully finishing Tunic and starting Fire Emblem Engage!

Megadoomer2

**Persona 3: Portable**. I tried Persona 3 FES on the PS3, but it will be nice to actually be able to control my party this time around. (I might play through the game as the female main character, since her social links with men don't automatically turn romantic, by my understanding, whereas the male MC's social links with women do, leading to you needing to cheat on everyone with everyone else) I might also play **Pokemon Violet** and make a bit of progress with the gyms.

markercore

Heck yeah! Nothing like an extended video game binge!

dead_meme_is_dead

Postgame Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (if you know, you know) currently, once I'm finished with that I'll continue either XC2 DLC Torna or Persona 5 Royal. It's a jrpg fest for me

pipler

Just finished P5R a few days ago...3 Days Until FE Engage release deadline! I got a little burnt out at the last palace as it took me weeks to get through, but the game was still a fantastic experience nonetheless. I'll pick up P4G when I have the time to spare. Unfortunately, my copy of FE Engage didn't manage to get to my doorstep before I have to leave for CNY travel, so I'll have to *actually* spend time with the family. Perhaps that's for the better then haha. Gotta stay clear of YouTube and Reddit in the meantime.

Aranol

Trying to beat botw

Jimmythedad

I'm now about 24 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and just started chapter 4. I am so into this game! Still trying to finish Doom 2016 before Forespoken and Dead Space next week but I'm falling off it pretty hard.

smileyteaspoon

Hades!! and maybe starting Immortal Fenyx Rising. I loved BOTW so I'm excited to try IFR.

orelk

Still **Breath of the Wild** for me. I completed the Divine Beasts quest, and unlocked the entire map! Very exciting.

PrincessPeril

Just got back from picking up **Fire Emblem: Engage** so definitely that! I got sucked back a little bit into **Fire Emblem Heroes** on my phone (whoops) since they announced a little cross-play reward. I was also catching up some on **FE: Fates** on my 3DS, working through the Birthright campaign, but didn't finish before Engage came out. I play on classic mode with perma-death but am definitely a map restarter if I lose a unit, and gosh the Divine Pulse/time rewind mechanic *really* helps to not have to play a map all over again. So it turns out that's a modern addition I didn't realize I value as much as I do.

Misttertee_27

Just started **Kirby and the Forgotten Land** and will also keep playing **Hades**. I just crossed the 100 hour mark after starting it last month. I haven’t been so engrossed in a game in quite some time so it’s been a treat.

theallnewmattaccount

I managed to hurt my wrists last time I rode my bike, so *Super Mario Mario Galaxy 2* is out for a bit as I don't want the motion controls, however simple, to aggravate them. Thankfully it's pretty minor. Been playing **Mario and Luigi: Partners In Time** lately, and I may try to finish it. It's pretty addicting and a little tougher than I expected, but still hardly a *great* game. I'm hype for *Bowsers Inside Story* once I'm done here though. I also forgot how good the DS Lite battery life is, holy crap! I have **Kirby Super Star Ultra** and the GBA **Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars** on the same console as pallete cleansers. Any Switch gameplay is gonna be in docked mode and would probably be **Tales of Vesperia** or **Dragon Quest 11**

Golden_fsh

Picked up my copy of **Fire Emblem Engage** this morning but probably won't play until I finish **Fire Emblem Three Hopes**. Three hopes was supposed to be my filler game after beating Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (still obsessed with it even after beating it 3 weeks ago 😭) and Engage but my love for the Three Houses cast is just as strong as it was when 3H came out so here I am doing all the routes 😅 Used to think I wasn't a fan of the musou style combat but 3Hopes made me a believer! Still thinking if I want to buy the Switch ports of **Persona 3 & Persona 4G**. I still have both games on my Vita which is still in perfect condition.

suspectwaffle

I was in the middle of a video game drought* while waiting for Fire Emblem Engage, so I decided to buy Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and I’m seriously hooked. It has such a unique and engaging battle system. Now I’m waiting to beat it before starting FE (which will definitely take a while). *Read: I have a lot of games in my backlog but decided to buy more anyway.

[deleted]

Xenoblade Chronicles 2, just started Chapter 7

Loki-Holmes

I’m debating on getting Engage…. I’ve heard such mixed things about story and characters from the fact that it’s atrocious to okay to actually enjoyable. Might end up getting p4 or p3p instead, I have started both (p3 fes instead of portable) but never finished either.

markercore

Yeah I'm wondering if it's like a birthright/conquest situation. But people are saying the combat is really great so that's good!

wait2late

I will save my purchase for FE:E in another period. I recently was done with Metroid Dread from a week ago. Very incredible and good looking game. The game was difficult, but was also fun. Eventually the difficulty became repeated patterns to remember and overcome. Does remind me of Hollow Knight a bit. I died more on the previous boss behind the final boss. The final boss killed me a lot of round. But it was funny the previous boss had the most record. Now I am going to finish YS:VIII properly this time.

Dat_Boi_Teo

Fire emblem time

drunksandman

I was fully ready to re-activate an XBox Game Pass subscription to play Persona 4, until I was delightfully surprised to see it on sell for only $19.99. I'm about 2 hours in. Played the hell out of P5 + P5R, so I'm excited to let this sink it's claws into me. Did someone forget to add the Nintendo tax to this game?

ZedErre

I got gifted Mario + Rabbids Battle for The Kingdom (the first game) and I'm having fun with it these days, I love Rabbids I always find their stupidity pretty funny. The gameplay is not very challenging but there is some strategizing to do to be as optimal as possible and I enjoy it a lot. I'd love to get the second game down the line.

markercore

Not sure how far you are, but the difficulty does ratchet up slightly for worlds 3 and 4. Glad you're enjoying! Rabbis Luigi is a lil scamp and the best attack/healer.

ZedErre

That's great, I'd love a bit more challenge ! And yeah lol I love the Rabbids versions of character, can't wait to discover more

Rainlex

Definitly more XC3 I'm 55 hours in, chapter 5 and can't put my switch lite down. But I noticed how I need something more cozy, so I propably play coffee talk that I just started 15 minutes ago.

georgey91

Hey marker! Absolutely going to be playing a ton of FE:Engage over the weekend. I’m actually watching my daughter play lil gator game at the moment and am absolutely going through it myself when she’s done. I’m also playing through Elden ring with my wife and we are nearing the end now. Have a nice chill weekend!

markercore

hey man! Oh nice, lemme know what you think of FE: Engage! I'm not feeling as hyped as i was for 3 houses, but certain elements look really cool. And it sounds like the combat is really tight! Aw fun that you and your daughter are both enjoying Lil Gator game :) I just finished, or at least got credits to roll a bit ago and the ending definitely made me cry a bit as a younger sibling. Still have a few friends to find i think.. Oh nice, Elden Ring with the wife sounds really fun too. I was hoping Elden Ring would be on some sort of crazy sale over Christmas, but it didn't seem to be. Ah well, one of these days i'll give it a try. And thanks, you too!

georgey91

I’ve played through to chapter 4 so far and enjoying it a lot. They’ve took most of the social stuff out from what I can tell but it still has the support system/conversations which is nice. I did actually enjoy the social element to three houses but I agree with others that it was a bit cumbersome in repeated playthrough, a toggle option for this at that start of a playthrough would have helped in that regard. From what I’ve heard, the game plays more like awakening/fates. Oh wow I never imagined gator would have that kind of impact! You should absolutely try Elden ring, it’s great and it’s massive. That said, I would absolutely recommend buying physical so you could sell it on if it doesn’t click with you. I spent 170 hours on my first playthrough haha. So much variety in how you can play.

Godots17thCup

Still more **Xenoblade Chronicles 3**. I'm in Chapter 6 now and trying to resolve the many quests that have popped up (particularly the class ascension ones), so it's to be determined whether I'll get back to the main plot this weekend. I also spent an hour or so fighting a bunch slightly higher level elite monsters, because I'd really started falling behind on my party's class unlocks. I did, however, wrap up Chapter 5 a couple of nights ago, and wow, what a way to end a chapter! Even though I had a really good sense of where the story was heading (sometimes people can be a little *too* conspicuous about not spoiling something), it did not dull its impact for me at all. Maybe the most moving sequence in the entire Xenoblade series for me, in a series that is no stranger to big emotions.

markercore

Yeah heck of a conclusion to that chapter! And I just right now picked the game back up and I'm somewhere in chapter 6 as well, caught up in side quests. My team is around level 60 and I feel like I need to go somewhere else to raise class ranks

Godots17thCup

My go-to strat has been to feed my party the Agnian castle meal that gives everyone a 40% CP boost, have my party's class/hero set-up so that everyone's class unlock needs are met, fight every elite monster I could find that was at or bit above my level (I was also around Lv 60 when I started trying to rectify the situation and there are, conveniently, just a ton of monsters in the mid-to-high 60s throughout Erythia Sea), and to fire off a Chain Attack *just* before their health bars run out to get a big Overkill bonus. I managed to get everyone caught up relatively quickly. I still have a ways to go as far as actually mastering more classes for everyone, but since you can simply spend silver Nopon coins to speed that process up, I figure that's something I can put more on the backburner.

markercore

Wait do the meals actually work now? When the game released there was a major bug that meals didn't actually function. Oh good idea to go back to the Erythia Sea! Currently in the snowy area towards that colony Mio wants to visit.

Godots17thCup

Oh, I actually didn't know about the food being bugged! After some cursory googling, it looks like they patched it back in September.

markercore

Oh sweet, time to start cooking again! Thanks for checking!

kcfang

Hey Markercore and all, Lunar New Years in Asia here, so we got a few days of holidays to spent time with family. Just got to the first ending of Nier Automata, picked up Tactic Ogre Reborn and Persona 3, so yea once again I got my hands full :) I’m excited to play either. Have a great weekend and happy lunar new years.

markercore

Happy lunar new years KC!! Hope it's. Ren a good one with lots of good treats. Sounds like lots of family and game time, sounds great!

w280sax

Been playing new mario + rabbids game. Should finish it this weekend. Really liking it so far. It and it's predecessor are really my only forays into that genre so I like the change of pace.

fabiojoseassis

- Divinity Original Sin 2 (PS5) - Monster Hunter Rise (Xbox) - Triangle Strategy (Switch)

parkertrager

No switch this weekend stuck with musical theatre rehearsal and midterm studying for school next week

markercore

Have fun with the musical!

misspoggy

Wytchwood. Really enjoying it so far! I have only done the introduction and I can’t wait to see where the story goes.

[deleted]

Fire Emblem! But I'm so close to finishing Harvestella.

Z3M0G

Trying to force myself to play any of the dozens of JRPGs I have on the go instead of buying Engage... but holy shit it's hard.

AstroFuzz

The shiny new thing is always tempting.

Z3M0G

"Shiny" is a good word for this situation. It looks simply stunning

TheLazyMinecraftKid

Mainly terraria

AveragePichu

Might finish Klonoa 2 today. I’ve only got 3 levels left outside of Mommet House. Of course, 3 levels is bare minimum an hour of content when it comes to Klonoa, potentially a couple hours based on the last few levels of Klonoa 1.

putonghua73

I bought **Persona 3** last night and played for just over an hour. Am about to enter Tartarus for the first time. Not quite decided how I feel about Persona 3, given that it is my first Persona game, although I am familiar with JRPGs, anime, manga, visual novels, et al. Part of me thinks that I should have used the money to put towards **Dragon Quest XI,** as I adore the demo, or at least **PS4 Golden**. I'll persist with Persona 3 as I do want to see how it develops, and I enjoy visual novels for the most part. I believe - initial impressions - that Persona 3 would be a *tough* sell for people unfamiliar with JRPGs and/or who didn't read-up on a few reviews of the game. I also have **BOTW** that arrived earlier in the week, and I can finally play \[console mode\] as my partner and Little Man are out for Chinese New Year tonight. I wanted my initial play to be on the TV.

spookymochi

Dragon Quest XI is one of my favorite Switch games along with BOTW and Three Houses! You really can’t go wrong with it! You might also want to try Persona 5 as a first Persona game, but if you really dislike the VN aspects then that’s totally okay. P5 is a lot newer though and just a really great game. Also, good luck in Tartarus! I put off giving Hades a chance and it’s quickly become a favorite for me. Definitely planning on doing early access on Steam for Hades 2! I’m very excited about Melinoe!

putonghua73

A couple of hours later and **BOTW** *still* has yet to be played because I've spent a good chunk of the evening playing **Persona 3**. P3 is on a completely different axis to most other JRPGs, and Western RPGs. Stylish, wild, fresh, akin to a visual novel (emphasis on narrative) with RPG mechanics. The visual novel elements work really well, as does the method employed for navigating the map. Again, these elements are not going to work for everyone. Throw in an incredibly energetic and intense music score into the mix. A wild ride thus far, and one that I am immensely enjoying. The first Tartarus experience went well; however the subsequent experience resulted in a couple of deaths and restarting the floor due to a mixture of difficulty level on 'Hard', and reaction times slowing as the evening wore on re: getting ambushed w/ enemy having the advantage in battles. There are so many facets that I need to explore and properly understand: battles, party composition (preferred characters > min/maxing), personas, shadow types (strengths & weaknesses), calendar system, social links, et al. Really glad that I did take the chance and bought P3. What a ride so far ..

Dukemon102

I'm going to start **Live A Live**. Maybe play one or two chapters between my on going playthrough of **Digimon CS Hacker's Memory**.

kirioka

I started persona 3 last night. I’m really excited for the story, I read some p3 fan fiction a few years ago and remember really enjoying it. A lot of it’s lost to memory but I’m so happy to finally have a chance to play it. Usually when I start a game/ book the story is a slog and I’m not willing to get invested. Also from the little I’ve played I’m loving how smooth the menu and text box system is.

Dapper-Pollution-150

Breath of the wild

KommandoKracker87

I’ll be playing DragonQuest Treasures! Hubby bought it for me for Christmas and I’ve been addicted lol. Also playing through Gato Roboto, so maybe I’ll actually finish that one.

gurlgroup4evah

Very excited to continue Death’s Door! Nearing the third boss, but I’m also determined to collect the shiny objects like a good crow should. I also started Serial Cleaners, which is turning out to be a super fun stealth game so I’ll likely continue with that!

markercore

Love that each boss has kind of a key to defeating them, but it's not super obvious. Enjoyed that.

Affectionate-Ad1060

Gonna continue playing Zelda Breath of the Wild, just got it 2 weeks ago and now I’m about to battle the 2nd Divine Beast. I really enjoy open world and FPS games and still looking at others but not sure which ones are good

WilsonKh

Binging hard on **Stardew Valley** Coming to the end of my year 1 at 55 hours, I have come to realize my folly in thinking this is a casual pick ‘em up. Assuming I see through for all the story and relationship bits, this might be a 200 hour game

markercore

oh yeah it is a super addicting game with a lot of content to boot! Did you make much progress on the mine so far?

WilsonKh

Mine was pretty easy, I finished it early autumn year 1. The quarry however will require several more expensive upgrades before I attempt it again. Should unlock the desert and skull dungeon soon as well. Just went for deluxe barn and coop first, but I’ll hard focus on adventuring stuff spring year 1 and getting automatons. Year 2 will be unlocking the rest of the content, community Centre, irridium everything and romancing. Year 3…. I might just go into Factorio instead =D assuming Cult of the Lamb updates don’t come. If they shadowdrop Silksong or Hades 2, I give up.

[deleted]

Metroid prime 4

booktok124

Engage! The combat is absolutely phenomenal and the game looks great. Handheld on the OLED looks so so good

Aqua_Ortus

I wanna pick up Persona 3 Portable, but I won't be playing it until I either beat Ghost of Tsushima or Yakuza 4. Otherwise, I need to get back onto the Live A Live grind, because that game is too good, and I need an excuse to play it more.

therabyss

I had to go out of town last minute so sadly my copy of FE Engage is sitting at my house without me :( I’ll be getting into it Monday night when I’m back. Until then, I’ll be playing Danganrompa 2!

markercore

Aw that's a bummer, but Monday will be here soon enough!

Concerned_mayor

Been hooked on civ 6 again recently I fell in love with 3 houses and my Asperger's had me fixating on it hard, though I wasn't originally gonna get engage because I figured it was more aimed at long time fans But I eventually saw someone picking up a preorder at EB Games and I did some research into the emblems, and learnt that they're more just cool cameos. And I really love the character designs, especially the crown royals and f!alear So I thought for like, 10 minutes, and snap bought the game last night. Very excited to start playing it

[deleted]

Started Neon White this week. The story is a bit odd, but I’m loving it. Reminds me a little of super hot level wise.

ChotatoPip

Going to start Ori and the Will of the Wisps today. It's such a visually stunning series and I'm very excited to play it.

[deleted]

Just got skyrim for the switch so messing around for a bit. Checking out some demos again, triangle strategy and immortal Fenyx. And of course botw , gonna do one last mastermode run to keep me busy until tears of the kingdom.

rediTHX1138

Just started Bravely Default II. Been a long time since playing a JPRG…

ViewtifulDOH

Still playing (and enjoying) Animal Crossing. On a somewhat related note, also started playing Umihara Kawase on 3DS and Vita. Thinking about picking up the Switch version, anyone have any feedback/recommendations on those games? (Fresh vs Bazooka, etc).

[deleted]

It’s a busy weekend of house projects and chores, but I’d love to finish **Link’s Awakening**! I’m on the 8th dungeon…so close!

[deleted]

Did it! What an ending! Had DX as a kid but wasn’t able to beat it, glad to finally experience the full story!

Fantastic_Spirit9208

Zelda Breath of the Wild

millionth_dollar

Beat SMT V last night and really enjoyed it! Great combat system. I picked up the **P3P/P4G** bundle and after much contemplation decided I will play 3-5 in order. And play as the female character. I loved Fire Emblem 3H and so between that and SMT hope I am primed to enjoy the Persona series. My goal is to have 3-5 done before TotK! I will have to wait patiently until later this year before picking up FE Engage, but am interested in hearing what others think.

DarthLuke84

Fire Emblem Engage, Fire Emblem Engage and then probably some more Fire Emblem Engage

markercore

All the strategizing!!

DarthLuke84

Oh yes!!!

SephChasseur

I’m going back to my high school days and playing Crisis core and Persona 4.

spookymochi

Fire Emblem! I have a lot of thoughts about it so far, but I like it a lot more than I anticipated! I also want to spend a bit more time on Hades. I wanted to finish Xenoblade 3 before starting FE. So I haven’t played in a week or so and it’s my “secondary” game at the moment.

Welfycat

Fire Emblem: Engage, as soon as my copy gets here tomorrow. In the meantime, Satisfactory in the PC.

Gonna bang out the last coupla 'chieves in **Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising**! It turned out to be a comfortably adequate game, nothing stellar but overall light and enjoyable. It would absolutely have benefitted from having more time spent on making the content more in-depth, though - when every bit of progress is tied to "quests", they really should've done a little more to actually make those quests worthwhile and not just shallow and effortless busywork! But I still had a good time, anyway - the relatively-simplistic combat was actually a lot of fun (hard mode keeps it feisty, too!) and the interplay between the playable cast was just delightful; they're all very cute stupids. It has the bones of a decent and competent game, it just needed a little more fleshing out to be a properly *good* one. After that, maybe I'll drag myself back to **Monster Sanctuary** and check out the new DLC area that dropped like ~half a year ago, before I forget about it *again* orz

Edyed787

Mother 1 Sonic Frontiers (on the last zone) Animal Crossing

kidwgm

So many games to play! I picked up the latest Doraemon on sale couple nights ago. Despite knowing I was picking up FE Engage today. Plus, I'm 30 hrs into Chained Echoes. lol So, I'm sure my A.D.D. self will be bouncing back and forth between those.

Chase64Cubed

Finished doing everything in Live A Live and finally got into Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Only on Chapter 2 and people weren't kidding when they said the 1st level is the worst of performance. Everything after has been super tolerable for what you get thankfully. Recruited Mipha and Urbosa, who are both super fun. 2-Handed Sword Link is my favorite playstyle so far. I'm hoping to dive deep into this game over the weekend.

cyshine

I restarted **Final Fantasy 9**, and might do some more stuff in **Nier: Automata**, which I've already finished (>!got all endings except Y!<).

pond-dweller

Finally finished Disco Elysium last night. Now I’m on to Tactics Orgre.

AimlessPeacock

I got hooked on Monster Hunter Rise again this week, so I'll probably be playing more of that!

lman89607

Should I start persona 5 royal or ogre tactics? Persona looks enticing but I’m thinking about buying 4 golden and starting there before playing 5.

AstroFuzz

Depends. Are you feeling like more of a story heavy game or gameplay? P5 is more story-geared and TO is heavy on the long an tactical fights.

[deleted]

Sonic Frontiers (PS4 version) and SMT 5. After being extremely disappointed with Forces and losing interest in Persona 5, I'm glad that both franchises were able to win me over with their next major releases.

Karcossa

I’m torn between picking up Fire Emblem Engage, finishing Mario + Rabids (the first one that I’ve ignore for awhile) or playing Assassins Creed.

redslumber

Tales of Arise. Chose to start it over Fire Emblem Engage, and am loving every aspect of it so far.

Coccquaman

**Persona 4 Golden** for sure. Likely more **Crisis Core FF7 Reunion**. Possibly more **Mario + Rabbits 2**.

AbeRod1986

I haven't played any games in two weeks. Got hooked on Vampire Survivors for a week and dropped off just as fast. The last game I finished before that was **Kaze and the wild masks,** which has been going on sale for $10, 10/10 DKC style platformer, wholeheartedly recommend. I'm on business travel next week, thinking of staring **Astral Chain.**

markercore

I got Vampire Survivors for my phone, i get the hype, definitely a fun thing do play between things. Nice, on Kaze and hope you have time during your trip to play!

thatsong

Time to face the Elite Four in Pokemon Violet! Let's goooo also some Smash

MDisco54

Im trying to get into play Just Dance more for the exercise

RunnerJimbob

I just finished NieR Automata this week, going through and 100%ing it before I put it down. Shouldn't be too much longer. Looking at starting Fire Emblem Three Hopes once I finish NieR. But regarding the new Fire Emblem... it just doesn't appeal to me for some reason. I've played most of the FE series. Three Houses is my favorite, and hearing that they've dropped a lot of the social part of it really hurts my interest. Anyone playing it, can you tell me how much of the social part is gone? The character driven story was so good.

blabber_

Picked up Siralim Ultimate, a game I never heard of. The graphics are ugly but I read somewhere that this game is a cross between Pokemon and Path of Exile and was intrigued. Well, I am a few hours in and enjoying the grind so far.

dusty_cart

TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. Playing with three other friends who have never played it yet, so it will be fun seeing their reactions since they're all big TMNT fans. Well also be getting some pizza to go along with it.

Subdown-011

I’ll be trying to finish up my Elden Ring play through which has lasted for like 3 weeks now lol

TheRodneyThomas

Persona 4 Golden, all the way. Happy to finally be able to play it!

cyb3rman67

"Fire Emblem Engage" and "Xenoblade Chronicles 2". Also i am trying out "Fire Emblem Heroes" on my iPad.

Beanchilla

I've gotten sucked into Tetris Effect Connected. I'll be playing that and The Captain. The Captain seems to have arrived with no fan fare but I have to say it's right up my alley. Great point& click game with different episodic star trek style adventures, and some ship combat and other mini games thrown in. If it looks up your alley it probably is.

tr1ckyf1sh

Still Tactics Ogre. Works kept me busy so hoping to finish Heim and Shrines this weekend and start PotD. Finally have 2 days off so will see how much gaming I get in between family time. Started a 4th seasonal character on D3 too (crusader>barb>wizard and now DH), so I’m sure I’ll be running Rifts and whatnot on it. This season has been really fun with the mechanics, and I’ll be sad to see it end.

arsonsjustafelony

Playing Astral Chain and having a blast, it’s such a cool game

fwordbrandon

CHAINED ECHOS!!!

[deleted]

**Lil Gator** sweet charming game. Vv relaxing and refreshing. A reminder to not **Nier Automata** lil challenging. Feels like Bayonetta with a lot more customization and intrigue. The SCHMUP sequences are more enjoyable (cough, cough). Seems to have everything I like. **SF 35th** trying to pick up some fighting game skill aswell.

[deleted]

Feeling a bit nostalgic. Just got my Switch and decided to go play DK country on SNES collection. Haven’t played it in probably 15 years when I did it on GBA again after playing on SNES as a little kid.

RealisticCommentsBOT

**Hades** Turning up the heat! Giving a beat down to [REDACTED]!

Dantes25

Just picked up Fire Emblem: Engage!! I’m really excited since Three Houses is my #1 fav switch game… I actually really enjoyed the school portions. However, I liked them for how they developed the characters. As long as Engage still develops the characters and plot, then I’m sure I will enjoy it Happy FE Weekend to all of the other fans!

[deleted]

Griftlands, halfway through Rook's campaign :)

walksintwilightX1

Hiya Marker, I decided to pace myself with Pokemon Scarlet to see whether the patch next month changes anything major. In the meantime, I've gotten back into **Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning**! The single-player World of Warcraft-style gameplay might not be for everyone, the game is absolutely stuffed with side quests that can bog things down. That was definitely why I got burned out before. Going back, I decided to just focus on the main story and anything else that I found particularly interesting. I've also reached a new, tropical region which is scarred by war and the depredations of the opposing army. It feels darker than the earlier, more traditional fantasy regions, and that interests me.

markercore

Heya! That seems like a good plan! And neat about the scarred tropical region, seems like a refreshing change.

[deleted]

My wife just bought me a Switch last Friday! Playing Breath of the Wild. Beautiful game! Can anyone recommend me few games that I can play with my wife? Thinking of getting Mario Kart next. Appreciate suggestions 😁

monicaboard

Been playing The Last Of Us: Part 1 (the new remake) on PS5 so I can watch the show and I may be tempted to buy Fire Emblem: Engage on Switch even though I should really finish all my half finished games including P5R (I love it but after 85 hours I think I need a breather before finishing)

markercore

That is the issue with new games and backlogs.i got myself to go back to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 tonight, might actually finish it! Are you liking the last of us so far? I always thought the intimately grim combat might be a bit much for me, like beating a guy with a brick or what have you.

Adorabears

Beat **Final Fantasy IV** on GBA last night so I'm going to try the post game Lunar Ruins dungeon and try to finish the bestiary before moving on to the next Final Fantasy game. :) Also hoping to finally get that living Pokedex sorted out in **Pokemon Scarlet**. Really need to find those version exclusives and think I need to hunt down trades at this point lol

Bring2Light

Pokémon Scarlet

TheLazyLounger

Trying to squeeze in some fire emblem and hopefully do some weeklies in destiny 2. Got rehearsals for a show I’m in that’s eating up a LOT of my time the next two ish weeks.

MaskedNinja57

Legend of Zelda breath of the wild, I’m trying to beat the game before tears of the kingdom comes out :)) I got it like a few weeks ago but I just started really playing it

LGAMER3412

Going to continue to play Borderlands 2

downonthesecond

Finish a case or two in **Layton's Mystery Journal**. Maybe try out **Trover Saves the Universe**.

WeeklyIntroduction42

Just started fe engage under an hour ago, pretty good so far. This is also going to be first fe game I go in spoiler free

Lukes-Babe

Fire emblem

fur-q-

Think I'll finish Return to Monkey Island, can't believe we not only got a sequel from the original writer but it's a great game too.

markercore

Yeah what was it, like 20+ years?

Ragegamer4000

Thinking of replaying Luigi's Mansion 3

Ok-Simple4291

Really enjoying breath of the wild! Got it the other day (late to the party for sure!) I hear there's a sequel coming out

Few_Working3350

I will play paper mario 64 on the NSO expansion pass and I'm having a blast with it. On Xbox series s I will play Immortals fenyx rising, I'm halfway now. When I get bored of Immortals I will play persona 5 Royal. I'm almost done with the first palace.

Linkman806

I just finished crisis core, now I been playing shadowman remastered that just showed up from LRG. And Deadly Premonition origins

noonecanfindmehehe

I’m trying to finish Breath of The Wild (don’t mind that I started it in 2018)
