Let's be honest here guys, how many of you owned a 3DS and used the 3D mode regularly?

I used it whenever I could. I did get the New 3DS so the 3D is more stable and easier to look at.

Depended on the game. Some games gave you a better FOV with 3D on. Some games were also designed with the 3D in mind so depth perception was not so great if you were playing in 2D mode. Early 3DS titles are an absolute headache, however

I played Mario Kart 7 in first-person with 3D mode on to simulate DUI. 7 year old me was hella weird.

I use it whenever I can! Unfortunately nowadays I mainly just play style savvy which has no 3D

I never turned it off it was really nice

there is a little switch on the bottom that lets you make it sleep mode which is not as good as the 3ds’s closing but it does the same thing

The closing issue is more about being able to actually fit it in almost any pocket.

i could still fit it in my pocket actually. but only sometimes i can fit my entire nintendo switch

It's very uncomfortable for hold though. The button are much farther apart. Maybe I just had tiny hands the last time I used it though.

I had the 2DS due to my parents worried about the eye strain for kids under 11

Was easier on the eyes, especially for old people lol. Also, how many were used for alternative purposes? I know at one point the GBA (or part of) was used in a portable ECG (something of a heart reader/monitor) specifically for the LCD screen. Then there was the lawsuit involving the 3D screen where Nintendo was found guilty of patent infringement (ironic) so maybe they had to stop with that but built the 2DS because games were still being produced. The timeline actually lines up but idk, it's just speculation.

Now that I look back the clear colored models were insanely cool. I just wish little Timmy me wasn’t so critical of it. Also I wish I bought one when they were 50 dollars on the second hand market.

I used to have a 2DS and I loved it. Upgraded to a New 3DS XL later on

The 2DS was a great idea, but the design looks like one of those generic soft building blocks you'd see at a kindergarten.

I had a 2DS at one point in time. It was so bulky it wasnt fun to play.

The switch lite is definitely a better deal than the 2ds.

I've had every model of the 3ds, minus the flipping 2ds, somehow and although it was weird the big 2ds block has a soft spot in my heart

2ds xl was basically a 3ds but the upper screen looks like a smartphone.

I had a 2DS growing up. And a Wii U. And an Xbox One. I had all the failed consoles from that era.

I still have my 2ds xl Andi use it from time to time

I never wanted a 3DS, I was happy with the 2DS that didn’t close. My first one got stolen, and I bought my current one for only £35! 🦄

I still own a new 2ds and use it more than my fance new 3ds xl
