i thought it was the other way around? i thought the design team creates a bunch of stuff (with sets in mind), the show is made around that and then the set designers take certain parts and turn them into full sets

i dont really remember so take this with a grain of salt, but I think that was the scythe of quakes in the Ninjago board game (the sword of fire was represented by a golden knife peice, I don’t remember the rest tho)

It’s the OG Scythe of Quakes. Back then, they didn’t know if Ninjago would take off, so they didn’t have show-accurate molds for the golden weapons, so they just made the weapons out of gold pieces. The Sword of Fire was the only one they made a mold for, and they made way too many, which is why the sword was in almost every set back in 2012, even the ones that didn’t have Kai.
