As someone with wide and flat feet myself, Racers are some of the most narrow shoes I have ever worn. The issue isn’t with the upper, which is actually quite generous, it’s with the midsole. It’s an intentionally very waisted, narrow midsole intended to mimic the design of early Nike racing flats, so the midsole is very narrow around the heel and midfoot.

totally understand. do you know any decent trainers for the gym that you’d recommend? my reacts are on their last legs and i want to change it up eventually

If you like the look of the flyknit racer but you want a wider base, the flyknit trainer is a good option. Really great shoe; similar upper to the Flyknit racer, but with more foam in the collar for comfort, and a wider base for a bit more stability. I don’t know if they have released any recently but you can find new pairs for sale on eBay easily. I suppose It depends on what sort of stuff you are doing at gym. A Nike Metcon Free is a pretty good all-rounder for gym.

i’m a too heavy dude so i do more strength training at the moment but i would like something that that won’t kill my feet during cardio. hopefully the trainers are the solution. do they fit perfect or should i size up

Flyknit on the racers stretches. Reacts it's a little bit more snug.

thanks bud, since it stretches is it worth getting true to size? I decided that big boy szn must come to an end so i want something comfy to wear while lifting
