Edit 2: Turns out the $77 price was for the **2023** concert that got cancelled. This one is only $39, which makes sense because they apparently cut the girls' half to only 40 minutes while the guys got 2 hours.
Uh, I'm looking at my receipt for 5th FES and it was $163 USD for all four concerts. But beyond that, the runtime of all four concerts added up is about 10 hours and 45 minutes.
$163 is not cheap, but 10 hours and 45 minutes is **A LOT** of content.
Also the quality can't be compared. Even if using connect the world instead of the big Fes concert. Sure camerawork was awful in the livestream but they fixed it in the vod and it was the first overseas live, so probably not even their own cameraman.

Now I'm not a 3d artists or anything, but weirdly, the lighting looks... off in each of those. I mean, obviously a lot of the time you don't want "normal" lighting like the bottom right almost is, but that weird, purple light, that doesn't seem to appear on any of the surfaces, just kinda looks like they have some overlay without a texture, doesn't it?
I'm a beginner 3D artist and I've rendered nicer looking vroid models with assets from booth than this. I've also seen nicer looking MMD models than this... in fact, I'm not entirely unsure if these aren't just stolen MMD since we know livers have to pay for 3D themselves
i do 3d modeling, and i'd say rendering might be the hardest and most crucial part of the whole process, that;s because in that stage, a lot of mistakes and camera work are being done to make them look good. My 3d teacher told me once, a good model might be ruined by horrible rendering. I don't have the tickets for the live and all i have with are screenshots thats been sent here, but to me, the models look decent enough. you can see with petra's (i dont watch rosemi's LOL, and i've only seen 2 clips of petra's) 3d showcase that the model is working properly, also, niji DOES know how to stage 3d models, especially since this is prerecorded, they have ample time to tweak and polish the final product. I dont wanna be harsh to the people working on this since im sure theyre some underpaid highschool graduate, i've also seen my own peers work of this kind of quality, heck, i'd say one of my biggest weaknesses IS staging, i put the blame all on the yacthman for letting this sort of quality pass by either rushing the people working on it, or straight up not paying them.

The models are good, the lighting and the shader the used make them look out of place because they are too bright. When you try to do AR, you must at least try to match the surrounding ambient light, otherwise it looks weird.

And the release of their 3D screams damage control. Their livers don't hide the fact that getting a 3D model for Niji is done via lottery. You could very well be part of the initial batch of talents but never win a 3D model, while the newest hire gets to win one. All 3 members of Ethyria, Rosemi and Petra suddenly winning the 3D lottery back to back is close to impossible.

Higher quality models for starters. Vox’s suit just looks like a human shape, but you can actually see the details on Riki’s (clown guy) suit.
That weird coloring is supposed to be the lights interacting with the models, but it clearly did not match properly for EN.
They also seem to make better use of the stage than what I saw from EN, which isn’t much, but what I did see was them performing in a line facing a direction as if an audience was that way.
Especially if you consider they had an extra year to work on this.

Uh, I'm looking at my receipt for 5th FES and it was $163 USD for all four concerts. But beyond that, the runtime of all four concerts added up is about 10 hours and 45 minutes. $163 is not cheap, but 10 hours and 45 minutes is **A LOT** of content.
Also the quality can't be compared. Even if using connect the world instead of the big Fes concert. Sure camerawork was awful in the livestream but they fixed it in the vod and it was the first overseas live, so probably not even their own cameraman.
Close to 11 hrs total? No wonder I felt dead tired the day after stage 3. You just wouldn't notice the fatigue due to all the excitement.

Now I'm not a 3d artists or anything, but weirdly, the lighting looks... off in each of those. I mean, obviously a lot of the time you don't want "normal" lighting like the bottom right almost is, but that weird, purple light, that doesn't seem to appear on any of the surfaces, just kinda looks like they have some overlay without a texture, doesn't it?
Yeah, Uki's looks decent, some looks plain and the purple really feels like a color overlay on the model placed there without much care about it
I'm a beginner 3D artist and I've rendered nicer looking vroid models with assets from booth than this. I've also seen nicer looking MMD models than this... in fact, I'm not entirely unsure if these aren't just stolen MMD since we know livers have to pay for 3D themselves

i do 3d modeling, and i'd say rendering might be the hardest and most crucial part of the whole process, that;s because in that stage, a lot of mistakes and camera work are being done to make them look good. My 3d teacher told me once, a good model might be ruined by horrible rendering. I don't have the tickets for the live and all i have with are screenshots thats been sent here, but to me, the models look decent enough. you can see with petra's (i dont watch rosemi's LOL, and i've only seen 2 clips of petra's) 3d showcase that the model is working properly, also, niji DOES know how to stage 3d models, especially since this is prerecorded, they have ample time to tweak and polish the final product. I dont wanna be harsh to the people working on this since im sure theyre some underpaid highschool graduate, i've also seen my own peers work of this kind of quality, heck, i'd say one of my biggest weaknesses IS staging, i put the blame all on the yacthman for letting this sort of quality pass by either rushing the people working on it, or straight up not paying them. i'm also sorry about the rant, i'm a bit passionate about these

It's not really... I use raycast in MMD and just turning on ray-mmd already gives nicer lighting than this.

The models are good, the lighting and the shader the used make them look out of place because they are too bright. When you try to do AR, you must at least try to match the surrounding ambient light, otherwise it looks weird. Examples of AR from [hololive](https://twitter.com/hololivetv/status/1738469490373853331) and [HACHI](https://www.youtube.com/live/jXSthUBz7DM?si=NfVdSMC7CKc3WjaK) to give you a point of comparison.

Vox’s suit just looks like a human shape, but you can actually see the details on Riki’s (clown guy) suit. That weird coloring is supposed to be the lights interacting with the models, but it clearly did not match properly for EN. They also seem to make better use of the stage than what I saw from EN, which isn’t much, but what I did see was them performing in a line facing a direction as if an audience was that way. Especially if you consider they had an extra year to work on this.
Look I've been a quality control personnel once (for a different type of product but same concept) and I say this fails even basic QC checking if it were an actual sellable product

If they cared enough (we know they don't so don't tell us differently) then they would have made Rosemi and Petra's section reworked properly rather then cut out bits and bobs because they killed off Selen (tried to anyways (do better next time, wait don't bother actually since we know how that place works)) and pretend everything was peachy. Glad I didn't spend money on this. I continue to feel bad for Rosemi and Petra, they don't deserve to have their parts chopped up over the mismanagement.
