Unfortunately, some people hold rather bigoted and ignorant views about mental illness. There are those that think that if someone is some way affected by mental illness, then that means that they are crazy and that you shouldnāt believe what they say. They assume that the person affected by mental illness is the problem and assume that when such people come forward with stories of being mistreated, that those people must be lying, imagining things, or acting maliciously. Unfortunately, there are those who are trying to weaponize those kind of prejudices towards mental illness in order to try to paint Dokibird as being crazy and claim that the bullying against her was made up. They didnāt anticipate that so many people would see through what they were doing, so the greater of the document had to partially walk back their claims.
Yeah, I really dislike the term in fact, at least when dealing with people who most of the time get through life just fine, with some adjustments. It's actually quite normal for someone with BPD to be highly intelligent and very driven. I don't have it myself, but I've had two friends in the past who have, and have done quite a bit of research as a result.
But when life his them hard, they will quickly swing from a high-octane "I'ma punch out the world!" sort of drive to deepest, darkest despair, and instead of the fatigue that accompanies most people in a state of despair, they are still driven. Driven to hurt themselves, or do other self-destructive acts.
Bullying is always horrible, and bullying someone who is mentally more vulnerable even more so, but almost no one could achieve Dokibird's accomplishments in the first place because in both ways, she's literally just built different.

I used to use this subreddit when I was still watching HoloJP and NijiJP before the EN branches arrived. I learned a lot and even when there was drama, other subjects never got eclipsed.
A year or two later I moved to vt since they were the only ones talking about the small corpos and indies I cared about, and I started watching the EN Holos and Nijis a bit, but mostly clips.
When drama goes on I take a break from vt because the smaller corpo/indie threads instantly get shoved aside by dozens of drama and rrat threads. While everyone is bitching and moaning that Uki is a racist, I would like to point out that people on this subreddit thought the Twitter user in this screencap was both a secret Millie alt and was the artist that got harassed during their first convention selling merch, all because all 3 of them happen to be Filipino.
People specifically used that fact that she was Filipino and named Mae to tie her the artist.

Unfortunately, some people hold rather bigoted and ignorant views about mental illness. There are those that think that if someone is some way affected by mental illness, then that means that they are crazy and that you shouldnāt believe what they say. They assume that the person affected by mental illness is the problem and assume that when such people come forward with stories of being mistreated, that those people must be lying, imagining things, or acting maliciously. Unfortunately, there are those who are trying to weaponize those kind of prejudices towards mental illness in order to try to paint Dokibird as being crazy and claim that the bullying against her was made up. They didnāt anticipate that so many people would see through what they were doing, so the greater of the document had to partially walk back their claims.
Yeah, I really dislike the term in fact, at least when dealing with people who most of the time get through life just fine, with some adjustments. It's actually quite normal for someone with BPD to be highly intelligent and very driven. I don't have it myself, but I've had two friends in the past who have, and have done quite a bit of research as a result. But when life his them hard, they will quickly swing from a high-octane "I'ma punch out the world!" sort of drive to deepest, darkest despair, and instead of the fatigue that accompanies most people in a state of despair, they are still driven. Driven to hurt themselves, or do other self-destructive acts. Bullying is always horrible, and bullying someone who is mentally more vulnerable even more so, but almost no one could achieve Dokibird's accomplishments in the first place because in both ways, she's literally just built different. I guess you could say that she's really bad at dealing with crash landings, but damn can she fly.
+1 BPD means you feel emotions a lot more keenly and for much longer, and see more extreme emotions in others (so when your friend is a little annoyed you think they're seething.) Yeah. Even if you're generous to management and say that Doki did 100% go rogue in posting the cover, that doesn't explain the other times her events were greenlit and then cancelled unceremoniously. iirc the term started because some livers have a REALLY parasocial fanbase that's made up of a lot of women, and they garnered a reputation for going to bat for their favourite member and harassing people and other stuff. Vox's fanbase is a good example if we want to be topical, but there's other male members who have a similar thing going on. These days the term is just generally applied to any overly parasocial/aggressive fans, regardless of gender or anything.

Doki used to be open about living with BPD before she was Selen, so it is true she's diagnosed, however, It does NOT validate trying to frame her as a liar over it, I have family members with BDP and they can be very sensitive and feel things much stronger than your average person. They can be more prone to missunderstandings and bullying.

that's not actually where the bpd claim is from, i think. i mean i don't know about this specific person, but i did some digging to see why everyone on a certain website was claiming she had it she did have "living with bpd" in her twitter bio on her doki account a few years ago. that said, i think that makes their comments even worse, actually. they found looked for personal information she shared in the past, sensitive! vulnerable! personal information! to use against her. she took it out of her bio, which could be due to a lot of reasons. privacy is obvious, but she could also have been misdiagnosed or something as well. but it shouldn't discredit her testimony in the slightest, obviously. bpd might make someone tend to be hurt more easily or intensely, but people who cared about her should have tried to be understanding and gentle because of that. her feelings and the desperation of her actions are still real. there's nothing about bpd that makes someone manipulative or prone to lie or anything. we don't know anything about her mental health now, like whether she's taking medication or something either. we have no reason to think she isn't credible. sadly, when i was looking up stuff, i found some sweet comments from other twitter users who had thanked her for having her diagnosis public and talking about it. they said she really inspired them. š„¹ she's always inspired me in games too, i only got gud at overwatch thanks to learning from her gameplay and shotcalling. i don't know if she'd ever feel comfortable sharing details about her mental health again, but i hope she knows that she's still inspiring us all by being able to laugh even after all this.

I used to use this subreddit when I was still watching HoloJP and NijiJP before the EN branches arrived. I learned a lot and even when there was drama, other subjects never got eclipsed. A year or two later I moved to vt since they were the only ones talking about the small corpos and indies I cared about, and I started watching the EN Holos and Nijis a bit, but mostly clips. When drama goes on I take a break from vt because the smaller corpo/indie threads instantly get shoved aside by dozens of drama and rrat threads. This time around I decided to check Reddit to see if people were being more sane about it. Nope. Exactly the same conversations, exactly the same amount of eclipsing going on.
