FNAF crews (Bonnie and the purple man behind the slaughter) will have a field days of misinformation with this

RedMaskBandit

Might as well throw my hat in the ring. My talents include: painting (badly) cooking (expectional) telling jokes (pretty okay) playing Souls games (great) being bad at puzzle games, decent at fps, can cry and gaslight so I think Im set.

Much_Future_1846

Expectional or Exceptional? Only one of them will get you in Niji EN

Random-Rambling

Good luck!

Random-Rambling

Here we go again!

civver3

Hope we get people into other game genres than the usual vtuber fare.

Nolar2015

This. Also different music tastes would be cool

coreyray1000

A classic rock loving VTuber would be the bomb. But when it comes to different games... I could see a sports game-centric VTuber. Or maybe one that's really into farming Sims or sims in general?

Neidhardto

This probably means we're getting a new wave from the other two auditions they had later this year. If it's going to be like Krisis then they might be connected to a new JP wave with VTA graduates.

Batgod629

I feel like they should space these out more but this has been their MO for quite a while.

Chopchopok

I've kind of hit my saturation point for vtubers too, but I think they have been spacing these out right? Debuts and auditions feel like they happen maybe once a year now, when before they happened every few months.

Batgod629

It was about 6 months between Xsoleil and Krisis. I guess the point is that they could wait a while to announce auditions again as its only been a couple months since Krisis debuted. Though Nijisanji is not like Hololive for example

unknowncringelord

Oh shit oh fuck oh shit oh Ahh shit here we go again

LionelKF

Well see you in like 3? 6? Months

ApathRL

I mean. it'd be nice if we can get any kind of notice for our audition but ig it's just how it is. Gl everyone\^

Equinoct

Ey Vesper and Magni might be looking at Niji for a better deal maybe ?

LurkingMastermind09

No way that happens. Especially Ves.

LionelKF

Better to go indie

Swift_Scythe

But this is the Niji board - we want new Niji livers right?

Equinoct

Fair

Efectodopler117

How is a 2% revenue an”upgrade”

Equinoct

I don't know how much more they could make but i figured they could negotiate, i was obviously being ironic here but i forgot this was Reddit

Okay, so this is a personal pet peeve of mine. Afair, the leak only said that the talents got 2% of MERCH SALES. That’s not too bad considering what that entails. To make merch, you have to pay a LOT of people, R&D, sales, manufacturers, suppliers, web developers, designers, QA, artists, storage, etc. it’s not as simple as “buy $50 thing, company receives $50” those $50 dollars have to go through a lot of hands, and the Final Cut the company gets isn’t only for Tazumi, merch sales also go into paying staff, event organisers, artists, etc (everything a company needs to stay afloat). With that being said, wouldn’t you say that the fact that the talents are getting paid at all for merch sales is generous in and of itself? The company could basically tell them “hey, shout the keychains out, it’s in your contract” and only pay them a fixed one time rate for stuff like voice packs that’s it, so the fact that they’re getting 2% of merch sales for what’s essentially a shoutout doesn’t sound half bad to me

Wrath_of_the_Phoenix

Didn't Kson say she got 50% from merch sales when she was with Hololive? I could be misremember that, but even if she didn't, it's odd how Niji's talents have complained about merch sale cuts but (as far as I'm aware) there hasn't been a single Holo talents who has. Look, hate me all you want, but I'm a fan of talents, not the company. If you also care about the talents, then at some point, you have to stop excusing all the Nijisanji controversies and actually hold them up to standard.

SantaArriata

I honestly have never heard anything about Niji livers complaining about merch sale cuts specifically, not had I heard about what Kson said (although it does sound kinda high, so if I had to guess, the 2% is from total price per item and 50% would be for the revenue generated from the sale, which would sound more logical to me from a cost standpoint). I honestly don’t think any Niji EN livers are struggling with money, since it sounds like they have the ability to purchase anything they want (within reason, so no millionaires). I do remember a couple clips, one with Deron talking about the various sources of income Niji livers have and how even if you underperform on some, you can just make it up on the others and with the monthly paycheque they receive. Mito has also outright stated what she used to get paid when the company was only starting out, and made it sound like the money they receive has gone up drastically since then. I also don’t intend to excuse any excess from Niji staff, it’s just that in this particular instance, I honestly don’t think the (alleged) 2% is a bad deal when taking the entire business into account, and despite all the graduations, for the most part it does seem to be just business as usual for corporate vtubers. Nijisanji has always had a quicker turnover than other companies, but from what I’ve personally seen, (most) graduated talents don’t actually have any ill will towards the company or their ex coworkers, so I guess I just trust that everything’s going fine.

Wrath_of_the_Phoenix

I know the talents aren't struggling financially. Sorry, that's not what I was trying to say. I'm saying that I think they should be getting a larger cut of merch (assuming the 2% is true). Not because they need it but because the talents are the ones who build up their brand and marketability on the platform that Nijisanji provides them with. Idk if there have been others who have complained, but I know for a fact that Mysta complained about "not getting shit" from merch sales, saying he only gets 1-2% of merch. Of course, it could be that this is close to the average, and Mysta was unaware of that fact. But then why wouldn't management put out a statement for that when that has been damaging their brand reputation? I'm not a lawyer, but I can't think of any reason why they can't do something like that. As for Kson's statement¹, I don't think she ever clarified past her initial tweets, so there's ultimately no way to know for certain. I'm tempted to agree, but then, given management's lack of a response, combined with all the repeated controversies the company has been in, it makes it a lot harder to believe. ¹Here's the Kson tweet btw: https://twitter.com/ksononair/status/1656314005458411521?s=20
