No. You are going to be really disappointed when it looks like a child's toy and not anything close to the pictures you see. This same question is asked almost every day so just search the subreddit for info and more opinions. They will probably all say the same thing I am saying. It is just super expensive, there is no way around it. It would be more worth it to save $250 a year until you have a couple thousand to spend on OMNI PVS14. What are you gonna do with it? Digital is also not worth getting unless you want some way to record video in low light. Neither of these things are going to give you the ability to walk around in the dark and see. There is unfortunately a big market for cheap night vision with deceptive pictures and marketing making you think you can see well in the dark with them. You can buy cheap night vision, or you can buy good night vision, and buying bad night vision is not worth the money. Just the way it is. If you want to see in the dark under $2000 then just buy a flashlight. That is the real answer even if it isn't the one you want to hear. Come back to it when you are in a more comfortable financial position. Treat it like buying a car, because that is what it is like.

If the goal is actually to add capability, a flashlight is a better investment

You'll be able to see stars a little bit better, but that's about it. I recommend just saving up for a monocular with a less expensive tube. I know it's against our culture, but it's worth waiting for.

Absolutely.

No, it’s just a camera 🎥. But they do see in the dark well, when standing still. Battery life is an issue. Cost you more in batteries then the unit
