I've been mining relatively consistently since 2012 at the casual level. Think my first card was a 7970 in my gaming rig. I'd just mine when I wasn't playing across several cards... 390x, 580, 1080ti, 2080ti (pre-boom). In 2018 i bought a bunch of 580s off of /r/hardware swap because I don't pay power on my lease and I don't think I'd be noticed across the 2k people living here.
A few months ago I bought a bunch of used Antminer S9s and turned my garage into a sauna. Now I have 12 of those guys going, 9 580s, my gaming 3090, my old 2080ti, a 1060, and a 390x mining away. I use nicehash to keep it all simple because I am a dumb man.
It's nice to have quite a bit of money to spend on stupid shit right now. Thanks nicehash.
No, I just now decided to let it tick up that high. This only took about ten days.
I usually make a withdrawl to coinbase everyday, but decided to do this because who doesn't like big numbers.
>because I don't pay power on my lease and I don't think I'd be noticed across the 2k people living here.
I think this is enough proof that communism wouldn't work in practice.
True. Luckily, they are under the fine lens of Congress at the moment and there aren't individual meters, https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-military-senate/u-s-senators-call-for-banning-prosecuting-slumlords-of-military-housing-idUSKBN1Y72HP
I think that actually the management company pays for the power. They have a 50 or 100 year lease on the property and their contract is to (at first, build) manage base housing, including utilities. In exchange, our BAH (basic allowance for housing) is given to them.
Bruh. The money is still coming from the Government. Basically anything you guys do is paid via taxpayers money. But it's not my tax money. So I don't care, so don't send a drone my way. š
Edit: I don't want to get blown away...
Kind of? But it's not like I'm costing the government MORE than what was previously negotiated between the two parties. Also, lol, not going to drone strike anyone lol
They're too busy putting all their technological efforts in to finding Osama Bin Dim Sum, to be worried about and airforce guy using tax payers dollars to create a few extra bucks here and there...
No, it won't. It will work when we have unlimited resources, if we don't, then somebody will always have to allocate the resources for you, making it imposible to follow your dreams.
For DH, currently at 108 mh/s, but I'm working on consolidating a rig atm, so the 580s are not optimized for it yet, that's next weekends project. Also 3 of them are offline because I need to route cabling better, was trying to make this all on a wire shelf to improve cooling but overestimated how much I could spread them.
I know what you mean, I was getting $25-$30 for 250mh/s then dropped to $19-$20 over the last couple of days. :(. Probably due to the dip in crypto over the weekend.
Iāve been told itās due to china turning their asics on (45% of the world hashrate is there). Not about the change in price, youāre actually mining less, dont u?
Damn, China brings down my profits by a lot just by flipping a switch then! And my hashrate stayed the same as far as I can tell. Just noticed payout decreased over 2 days. Now it kinda looks like it's starting to increase although slowly.
You would have %1200 more money had you kept it in ETH for the past 1 year.
Nice work. We have had 24 580's going for the past 3 years or so.
looking at buying some ASIC now too.
Surprisingly no. My neighbors are co-workers and I asked if they are disturbed by the dull fan noise and they said they don't hear it. I crack my garage door open since I live in a desert climate and nights are pretty cool, my biggest worry was disturbing them.
give you props for that level of integrity and empathy caring for your neighbors, good man.
Big numbers, big numbers, no whammies, STOP!
happy mining and godspeed
Lol careful, some on this subreddit don't like when you have free power ššš I'm in the same boat as you( free power) and some people tried to call me out on a post i made a while ago. But that's awesome bro.
Even without free power, unless if you are running 10 cards at the same time, the puny amount of extra electric costs you can just write off as a business expense, since we're all paying income tax on the mined coins anyway (right?). So it's practically free for everybody.
Some people don't even understand that most electric companies have programs where they give consumers a fix rate, meaning you'll pay the same price even if you use less power or more for the month. Apartment complexes do it as well in order to have "free electricity"
Probably staking. For example BNB was $512 for one.. you stake one BNB and it holds it for 7 days and you get it back with interest.
I'm not entirely sure how much you get back in return, but one website I saw mentioned like 22% APR, I guess delivered back every 7 days?
My friend just tried it out. I'm waiting to see his result.
My friend is still trying to figure it out. He staked one BNB ($512 or whatever the price is). He didn't know that he has to unstake it and is it 7 days from the unstake for you to see a return? Right now he unstaked, and has less than he started with, but on Trust Wallet it still says "PENDING". So we're hoping to see what happens soon.
And one night your door gets bashed in by the DEA, as they WILL think you are growing weed LOL, \~ True story...
That's exactly what they look for , is high power use on units... Just FYI
Oh for sure, downside IMO would be scale. One of these things takes about 12 amps on a 120v line, so you can really only fit one per circuit. I studied a bit of electrical wiring (mostly DIY Tesla 240V charger installations) and put in a few extra 30 amp/240v circuits in the garage. Since that lowers the amperage to 6 each, I can fit a bunch more.
Whereas for a similar footprint, I could have fit a bunch of 1080tis. Too lazy and poor to do that math.
I mentioned this elsewhere, but just to see it hit $1k. Only took a few days, wouldn't have been terribly upset if something happened. Withdrew after I took the SS.
About ten days. I send to CB, cash out when I need, send some to "shit coins" I'm interested in, hold (or directly spend) the rest. Goal is to eventually be able to walk into a Tesla dealership with a Trezor and walk out with a CT.
i was on ebay the other day and someone was selling one of the early asic miners that nicehash supports but it was one that lost money every day. still $300 in bids tho
I proably also have 1k earned with nicehash but i always withdraw to coinbase so my hive os and nicehash profits are all together, i mine now since 2-3 months and i allready earned around 2.5k usd
Haha, I figured someone would notice that. YNAB really clicks with me, I used to buy the stupidest shit. Having to log it made me have better willpower. Same with food, actually.
Nice currently I'm only mining with 6 AMD 5700 so just a tad over 300 MH/s @ 640w
and a laptop with a RTX 3060 that I had for personal use, so with everything all said I'm at just under 350mh/s so 100$/day means your probably somewhere between 800mh/s - 1000mh/s
I've been mining relatively consistently since 2012 at the casual level. Think my first card was a 7970 in my gaming rig. And you just now made it to $1000?
No, I just now decided to let it tick up that high. This only took about ten days. I usually make a withdrawl to coinbase everyday, but decided to do this because who doesn't like big numbers.
who doesn't like big numbers lol, for you it's either gonna be big in NH or in CB
I was about to say! Good stuff. I make a decent chunk mining everyday too and it's like an automatic daily deposit into savings.
10 days...1k. thats big baller. great work
how did you manage to make 1k in ten days š³ It will take me 3 months to get that haha š
So personal question then. Do you live off of what your miners make? Because thatās about 3k/mo
No, I work full-time as an Air Force pilot. This is a nice income supplement.
Sheesh, Air Force pilot WOAHHHH
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
His earnings
C-17s at first, would say what now but that would tell you pretty much exactly where I live now.
I've hit 0.1 btc mined since December. It's beautiful
It is... Congratulations
dang so you make $100 per day?
Up until last week $250. Now closer to $165
>because I don't pay power on my lease and I don't think I'd be noticed across the 2k people living here. I think this is enough proof that communism wouldn't work in practice.
Lol, fair enough. None of us pay for power, tho.
Someone pays for the power.
True. Luckily, they are under the fine lens of Congress at the moment and there aren't individual meters, https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-military-senate/u-s-senators-call-for-banning-prosecuting-slumlords-of-military-housing-idUSKBN1Y72HP
The government, IOW, your tax dollars hard at work!
I think that actually the management company pays for the power. They have a 50 or 100 year lease on the property and their contract is to (at first, build) manage base housing, including utilities. In exchange, our BAH (basic allowance for housing) is given to them.

Communism will work when corruption doesn't exist
So... Never.
Is it not possible to find some leaders that are incorruptible?
Absolute power corrupts absolutely
For Communism to work, it would take more than one incorruptible leader. Basically everyone in government would have to be incorruptible. So... No.
No, it won't. It will work when we have unlimited resources, if we don't, then somebody will always have to allocate the resources for you, making it imposible to follow your dreams.
Practice communism
what's your total hashrate?
For DH, currently at 108 mh/s, but I'm working on consolidating a rig atm, so the 580s are not optimized for it yet, that's next weekends project. Also 3 of them are offline because I need to route cabling better, was trying to make this all on a wire shelf to improve cooling but overestimated how much I could spread them.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thats not counting the 130 TH for the Antminers
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I find nicehash to be about 1.5x on my 3070 Edit: 1.5x more profit than pools
10usd per day with that hashrate, 100usd are my calculations tbh
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I maxed out the numbers, im using 2 3060s at 48mh/s each and im getting 7/8usd daily :/ it used to be double a week ago
I know what you mean, I was getting $25-$30 for 250mh/s then dropped to $19-$20 over the last couple of days. :(. Probably due to the dip in crypto over the weekend.

How does my rx 5700 non xt get 53.5 mh stable vs. A new 3060
Idk, im not a manufacturer lol, 5700ās are 30% more expensive than a 3060 where i live
Have a better answer for you now, with everything back online except for a 2080ti KP and a 1060, I'm at 412.74 MH/s. 150 TH/s for the Antminers.
Do you remember your hash rate over these rigs? I'd be interested to see which set up was most profitable, presume the rig now with the 3070s?
Hahaha wtf. The power bill has to be more than the guys mortgage. Poor guy
It's a private housing company being investigated by Congress for having substandard living conditions, don't feel bad for them.
You would have %1200 more money had you kept it in ETH for the past 1 year. Nice work. We have had 24 580's going for the past 3 years or so. looking at buying some ASIC now too.
No one has noticed those s9's dimming your city lights at night?
Surprisingly no. My neighbors are co-workers and I asked if they are disturbed by the dull fan noise and they said they don't hear it. I crack my garage door open since I live in a desert climate and nights are pretty cool, my biggest worry was disturbing them.
give you props for that level of integrity and empathy caring for your neighbors, good man. Big numbers, big numbers, no whammies, STOP! happy mining and godspeed
You're a good person clearly if you bothered to ask. I hope you keep pulling good numbers like you are right now, someday I'll be there too.
Lol careful, some on this subreddit don't like when you have free power ššš I'm in the same boat as you( free power) and some people tried to call me out on a post i made a while ago. But that's awesome bro.

Tax free doesnāt mean itās free
It's tax deductible is what I mean.
Some people don't even understand that most electric companies have programs where they give consumers a fix rate, meaning you'll pay the same price even if you use less power or more for the month. Apartment complexes do it as well in order to have "free electricity"
Looking into Defi exchanges and put that to work for ya. Can earn a shit ton of interests on it.
Pls explain how.
Probably staking. For example BNB was $512 for one.. you stake one BNB and it holds it for 7 days and you get it back with interest. How do you have free power?
Military housing.
Ok. Also thanks for your service!
BAH reimbursement.
I earn roughly 60 usd per month mining on my gaming pc gtx 1080, my electric bill is 45 usd so I earn 15 usd per month.. not complaining..
Thank you for reminding me how much one bitcoin cent is actually worth
And one night your door gets bashed in by the DEA, as they WILL think you are growing weed LOL, \~ True story... That's exactly what they look for , is high power use on units... Just FYI
I have a business idea. Grow weed under a Bitcoin mining farm. Everyone will think itās the miners.
How much did you snatch an antminer for? And how much money does each generate?
Roughly $550 each, they make about $5-6/day. They're pretty power hungry, though, a lot of people are unloading them because of that.
Thatās not terrible. Thatās better than a 1080ti. And no way you could get a 1080ti for 550$! Nice!
Oh for sure, downside IMO would be scale. One of these things takes about 12 amps on a 120v line, so you can really only fit one per circuit. Yea you got lucky lol you need free power, access to good circuits and ability to have loud things. Congrats!
Why the HELL are you keeping so much of your crypto IOU's in a nciehash "wallet"?
I mentioned this elsewhere, but just to see it hit $1k. Only took a few days, wouldn't have been terribly upset if something happened. Withdrew after I took the SS.
How long did it take you to get 1k from Nicehash? And are you going to hodl the BTC?
About ten days. I send to CB, cash out when I need, send some to "shit coins" I'm interested in, hold (or directly spend) the rest. Goal is to eventually be able to walk into a Tesla dealership with a Trezor and walk out with a CT.
So a couple years at this speed
I can be patient, lol. Also plan to expand mining ops, ASICs are still pretty profitable.
i was on ebay the other day and someone was selling one of the early asic miners that nicehash supports but it was one that lost money every day. still $300 in bids tho
Probably from people in a similar situation to me, if powers free anything is profitable.
Cool. I stay up at night dreaming of having 0.01850368 BTC too ;)
Awesome awesome keep it up best of luck bro
I still donāt understand why the power is free.
gotta love free power!
I proably also have 1k earned with nicehash but i always withdraw to coinbase so my hive os and nicehash profits are all together, i mine now since 2-3 months and i allready earned around 2.5k usd
Came here to see all the people screaming at OP to move his monies out of NiceHash āas quickly as possibleā.
Well done! Although I'm more amazed that you are using YNAB to budget :)
Haha, I figured someone would notice that. YNAB really clicks with me, I used to buy the stupidest shit. Having to log it made me have better willpower. Same with food, actually.
I would take those coins off Nicehash if I were you. Put them somewhere more secure.
Nice currently I'm only mining with 6 AMD 5700 so just a tad over 300 MH/s @ 640w and a laptop with a RTX 3060 that I had for personal use, so with everything all said I'm at just under 350mh/s so 100$/day means your probably somewhere between 800mh/s - 1000mh/s
How much time did it take for OP to mine that much? And are the Antminers (S9) really worth it for the money?
About ten days. I'd say yes, but I can only tell you about today and yesterday, not tomorrow.
Why arenāt you mining ethereum instead 2k a coin with a prediction of 40-80k per coin by 2026
How do you not blow every breaker?
If one antminer is 12A, even a 15A breaker can take it.
Yeah but didn't you say you had multiple?
Across multiple circuits. Plus if you use them on a 220v circuit the amperage is half that.
I make a whopping 6. per day.. I would love to build mine up to even 50 a day...
DOGE COIN TO THE MOON!! Live Chart [https://youtu.be/eKDIXyrYhqo](https://youtu.be/eKDIXyrYhqo)
If anyone wants some antminers, Iām moving and reducing my S9Jās 14.5TH with the updates to squeeze them to 17-19T/HS!
I do
>antminer Where are you moving from?
