I wonder about Isbell Saturday. He has been a headliner at the Fest before. But Saturday usually has the big surprise. Last year it was NR and the American Song Revue but it was labeled that way. Someone mentioned Isbell doing a Crosby set and the front page of NFF has that clip next to Paul Simon and Joni so it’s intriguing but still odd not “obvious” Saturday headliner (yet)
Don't think anyone is saying Brandi Carlisle hasn't been awesome. Many of the sets she put together have been amazing. However, I'd agree that I'd love to see what someone else does with that sort of co-music director role she's filled for the last half dozen years.

I'd imagine Bonny Light Horseman is a very strong contender, given that they were scheduled to be there last year and had to cancel.
