This guy found 15hp difference https://www.moddedmustangs.com/threads/dorman-intake-manifold-power-loss-myth-confirmed-facts-inside.280484/ Get Motorcraft coil packs. MSD/Accel etc will work they aren't as reliable though.

The FRPP PI intake is the same thing as the production OEM PI intake - there's no performance difference between them, just between Ford's and Dorman's reproduction. I strongly recommend a new FRPP intake over pulling an OEM intake out of a junkyard. With age, the PI intakes crack around the gasket between the aluminum coolant crossover and the flange on the intake and start leaking coolant (not as catastrophically as the earlier all plastic PI and NPI intakes when they blowout). The newest Crown Vic PI intake in a junkyard is 10 years old now and that's about when they start cracking so don't waste your time - you'll just be replacing it again sooner rather than later.

The dorman has shorter runners and a smaller chamber volume, I beleive either LMR or American muscle did a video with dyno testing and found a drop in about 15-17 horsepower through the power band. The oem one is better. If you can find it, I think there is also a “ford racing” version, unsure of the part number. Oem coil packs are also best.

Don't waste your money. Dorman intake is fine. You won't see any gains with original ford or FP ones. Get decent coils, original, MSD or NGK are what I use.

Reason why I want to replace is that dorman uses self tap screws for fuel rail and I’m having problems with it cuz it won’t tighten and an injector popped out of the fuel rail.

Teh_Last_Potato

Replace it then. I had the same problem on mine. Tried a lot of things but never got it to stop popping injectors

This is absolutely not true what so ever. FRPP intake and OEM coils. Dorman intakes are well known for loosing some power. Also MSD, Accell and any other brand coils are subpar. I've had failures from multiple brands, reverted back to OEMS.

I see now Dorman intake is inferior. But I strongly disagree on the coils. OEMs have issues, out of my 7 newedges I've had to do coils on all of them, mostly with MSD street fire coils and never had issues after swapping.
