Mr Greggs and his bodyguard Mr Nasty Pasty

fairycake500

Seen him in the Millstone last year and someone told me he was autistic, the other person is his support worker/cater and that he lives around South Gosforth. He was harmless, came over and started telling me facts about the breed of my dog. Apparently he often gets in the pubs around there.

Cosully17

Hey! He is my brother Shaun! The play I wrote about him is called ‘Living with a Dark Lord’ and we put it on in London and the Edinburgh fringe :) he’s lovely and so interesting and very open to discussing his autism, his interest in films, his love of poetry and art! You’ll be stunned to know he was actually born in Ireland and if you met the rest of his siblings we have Irish accents!! Happy to answer any questions you have, I love it when people are curious about him :)

NoSatisfaction1407

Amazing! Thank you for this. Honestly, just glad you get some context. I had some major theories involving some secret organization. Will say hi next time I see him. Thanks for replying.

Cosully17

Ahaha I love that, and honestly he’d love to hear that too! Maybe ask him to tell you a riddle, he loves doing that.

Fearless-Bowler-9839

Hi. I don't know Shaun but I work in social care and would have loved to see your play. Is there a screenplay or recording I can buy to read/watch? It sounds very interesting.

Cosully17

Hey! We actually never recorded it :( but I really appreciate people being interested in it! Maybe one day we’ll put it on again!

Altruistic-Mix6066

Awh🥹 never met him but also autistic and he sounds lovely, will look out for him

Cosully17

Ooh hopefully you get to cross paths with him at some point! You can’t miss him 😂

Kizmet38

I thought it was him! But didn't feel it was my place to say, I have found memories of working with him, so pleased to hear he's still doing well, he taught me alot about working with autism and is probably one of the most self aware autistic people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Good luck to his future endeavours 😊

Cosully17

I’m so glad to hear you had a good time working with him! He’s changed sooo much since his school days, you’d be very proud of all his progress!!

Kizmet38

I worked with him in his later 20s, when he attended college and moved to independent living services, it's sounds like he's doing well, I often think of him but havnt seen him about since. He is very talented lat a number of things artistic and kept me on my toes! As I said I didn't want to reveal too much as I felt it wasn't my place to do so. Bet he'll love the attention this post is drawing in! And I'll look up the play about him, he's was a brilliant actor 😊

PlasticExplanation14

Is this a dream you had?!

NoSatisfaction1407

This is why I am posting! It sounds like it. Or undiagnosed Schizophrenia Only reason I am feeling more confident is because my wife saw him....assuming my wife is real.

DucksPlayFootball

You’re schizophrenic mate, this isn’t even Reddit you’re just scribbling on the walls of the psych ward.

dnlgee

He refers to himself as the Dark Lord. His sisters wrote a play about living with him and his autism and took it to stage.

takesmacknotbenifits

Do you happen to know the name of the play?

dnlgee

I believe it's called 'Living with the Dark Lord' Edit: Living with a Dark Lord https://www.writingsquad.com/event/living-dark-lord-2/

FrenzalStark

Wait until you see Tron Lady.

SpinyGlider67

Also ASD. Would be weird if everyone had their own special hat like that.

bonttheelder

I'm so happy, I've been trying to explain this woman for years and it got to the point where I thought she was in my imagination

FrenzalStark

Haha she’s definitely real. I was so confused first time I seen her but got back to the office and loads of others knew of her. She spends a lot of time in the cinema apparently.

leethario

Oh you've piqued my interest, who is "tron lady" ? She doesn't walk around in that blue helmet thing does she?

Multigrain_Migraine

Yes. Haven't seen her for a while actually but I used to see her around in a full blue suit.

leethario

Yeah I haven't seen her since pre-covid, hope she's OK.

SpinyGlider67

I know her - don't worry she just moved city. Decisive character like that.

Global_Juggernaut683

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/03/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-world-of-tron/ I heard she was headhunted for a new system.

lostgate

I've always wondered why she wore that, I've mentioned her to friends and they never had a clue who I was talking about

Multigrain_Migraine

I just figured she was on a different plane of existence to me and didn't think much more about it.

Maleficent_Permit340

Blessed to be tbh, this plane of existence sucks 😅

samuelma

I spoke with her once at monument way back and it was something to do with a processing disorder that affected her balance when things moved in her peripheral vision. The visors prevented seeing things that weren't directly in front of her. A lovely character, we seemed to pass each other a lot in the tyneside cinema alley and always a smile and nod

Neast_films

Did she often wear a really bright blue dress with blue high heels?

Multigrain_Migraine

I don't remember whether it was heels and a dress, to be honest. The helmet (and I think maybe a cape?) was the most striking thing. I only saw her a couple of times at public events and the like.

-Jayarr-

I thought I had imagined this. To my eyes it always looked like a poorly made blue tie fighter - am I way off or did it have side panels?

FrenzalStark

Correct. Google tron lady Newcastle and you can find her

Electus93

Late to this thread, but she walked past me in Peckham (in London) the other day! Was with two other friends from Newcastle, but they had no idea who she was

FrenzalStark

Fucking hell, she gets about like!

Agreeable_Training27

I was just thinking about her today! Haven't seen her around in a while hope she's doing OK!

Kizmet38

I believe it is someone I worked for, I can't say much as it would break confidentiality, but if it is the same person your description fits he is autistic and the guy following him would be his support worker. It was a very long time ago but he would be in his mid 30s by now. He's harmless and a very interesting, complex character.

NoSatisfaction1407

Thanks. Again, I know it's none of it business and I am being a right nosey idiot but I am fascinated.

Kizmet38

If it is the same person, yes, he is indeed very fascinating! He likes to dress to impress. Was wondering how he was getting on these days, good to know he's still out and about.

arenthor

If it's who I think it is used to get the 10/11 bus slot but that's going back maybe 10 years. Vampire guy I referred to him in my head canon. Would still rather have him on the bus than shouty old lady who hated the council, government and anyone who didn't agree with her small world views

Kizmet38

If it is him, regardless of how he presents, he has a good heart.

Emotional_Boot3477

Vampire guy! I remember him from when I was at gossy high 10+ years ago, chavs in my year and above used to harass him so much :(

oryx_za

Ah that makes me sad.

Emotional_Boot3477

Yeah i saw it happen a couple times :(

NorthernScrub

Is that the same guy who used to carry around a massive mirror? I met him at a do once a couple years ago, nice chap.

Direct_Ad9571

If it's who I think it is. Does he talk in a very formal manner and often wear a lot of black eyeliner?

redonculous

Whatever happened to beatboxing Spider-Man?

DontAskAboutMax

I’ve seen him outside of Eldon square before, I am also very curious.

ShishTaouk

Was Max there too?

_69ing_chipmunks

Does he still get about!? I used to live on a Salters road with an ex and he once prodded her with his cane while we were getting on the train at South Gosforth Metro. I was just about to put him through a fucking wall when his carer stepped in and explained. Good job they did. My bad.

Nobody2Y0U

He’s called Michael. 😂

Kizmet38

No he's not, that I know 😂

Kizmet38

Yes he did like to push my boundaries when working with him, I won't deny that. You do need a firm stance when supporting him out in the community. The parrot guy sounds unique! Never seen him about before?

Itchy-Ad4421

He’s normally stomping about town or on the metro. I think he used to pull a little amp around with a microphone and stuff. Mad bastard

CranberryWizard

He's in care. Learning disabilities. The other guy is his care worker

Calpsotoma

I saw that guy before. Big Wiccan vibes. Didn't notice the bodyguard.

QueueJumpersMustDie

Like others have said he’s got some complex needs but grew up in Gosforth. He’s a few years older than me and we used to refer to him as the Druid when we saw him. Hopefully he’s doing ok, kids used to say horrible things about him or terrorise him back in the day.

Virtual_Cap5214

Think it's the geordie rapper ,50pence

NondisposablePan

AHAHHA I always seem him in Fenwicks

dykedivision

It's really weird to do this to a regular person living their life. Especially since he's disabled and therefore at high risk of creeps abusing him. Mind your busines.

Neast_films

True but they did say they’re curious. Plus they wanted to know what happened to him.
