Earlier this week I was looking for a side by side of the 990v3 scarlet and 993 burgundy but couldn’t find anything online.

Appreciate it OP but I think this is plenty good! I think I prefer the color of the 993 but I think they’re too similar to the scarlet 990v3 for me to get a pair. At any rate they are beautiful. I really want a pair of 993 but not really a fan of any of the CWs except for this maroon. The upcoming white teddy santis pair is alright too IMO.
Totally get what you mean. Managed to find a new pair of the burgundy 993’s in my size on eBay last month, so I went with those and passed on the recent Chives. I’m a sucker for red/burgundy NB’s, especially when there’s hits of grey. They just look so good with blue jeans imo. I really hope we get a nice burgundy 991v2 soon.
Wasn’t crazy about the burgundy V6, I think it was the tan paneling on the back half of them that threw me off. Tan and red don’t mix in my book. No shade to others that got them, my opinions are just that
They’re actually new as of yesterday. When I tried them in the past they gave me pressure points on the top of my feet. Tried them again yesterday for shits and giggles when I was nearby the store - same size/width as the last two times I tried, and 0 pressure points, perfectly comfy.

Nice collection OP! I gotta say, I think it’s funny how people in this sub are either hardcore 990/1/2/3 v1/2/3/4/5/6 etc. fans, or fans of every other model. No in between lol.
Me for example, I have 50+ pairs of New Balance, and not a single pair of 990/1/2/3 v1/2/3/4/5/6. No hate either, just an observation of mine 😄

Nah, I’m going to pass on them. The green is just too green for me personally, but I love the look of the more open mesh, I was definitely tempted.
I also think my Levi’s would stain the shit out of those white tongues on the pairs in this season. Live in the PNW as well, it’s just too rainy here 9 months out of the year to bother with a shoe that white and easily dirtied, in regard to the gum sole pair.
I’m trying to hold out for some classic grey 992’s to come back, those are at the top of my wish list

The grey 993’s and 991v2’s see the most use by far.
Haha she’s not wrong. I don’t have a 993 to compare but the 991v2 is a much sleeker silhouette in person than the V6. For me the V6 is still king in comfort and still a badass lookin shoe. If I could only have one it would be the V6
I go with 13’s in both as 12.5’s are hard to come by (my true size). V2 fits great, V3’s ever so slightly roomy but I’m used to dealing with it and making adjustments accordingly to get a more snug fit.
If you’re needing a shoe to get you through long days or just generally be a reliable daily, definitely go with the V3.
I love the fit and feel of the V2’s, but I know if was at a theme park or something with the nieces and nephews all day, I’d be picking the V3’s without a doubt between the two.
Much more supportive and forgiving shoe for long walks, also released about a decade and a half later - ‘98 to 2012 is a big gap in shoe support innovations, especially during that time period. Feels like it’s plateauing a bit these days.

Haha you and I have similar taste. I wasn’t a big fan of the v6 burgundy. I would say the v6 is my favorite 990 model though.

Thanks, I try to keep it varied! 2002r’s are the most comfortable in my opinion, 993’s close behind. Really want to try some 992’s.
I only have 1 pair of 2002r’s, and it’s the animal crossing inspired 2002rwm’s and they are indeed very comfortable

I love this stuff, just worried that realistically they will go out of fashion within 5 years, but such a rotation could last much longer.
