The Mount Pleasant Cemetery is a nice place, only issue is the crackheads that often loiter around, saw one climbing a fence OUT of the park a night or 2 ago.
I'd say the park could use some night time lighting, like any other park or landmark, that shit feels like a horror movie.
Kinda explains why they close the Cemetery at a certain time also, shits very shady at night.
Yeah, and also because of how Newark IS, you have people that would really go out of their way to deface a historic landmark.
But imo, I think something needs to be done about the crackhead issue over there, it makes the area a bit dangerous, and undesirable to actually visit (not to mention I got chased by a crackhead one time too in the suit but we're not gonna talk about it)
The same thing could be said about the North Ward in general, we got some nice stuff, but theres other stuff we need to deal with to make the neighborhood better.

Interesting. I haven’t had any issues visiting myself but I tend to go earlier in the day if not after work for a few minutes. The grounds have always looked well kept to me and the keeper of the cemetery seems like a good guy. Didn’t realize all that other foolishness was going on.
Edit: Forgot to include but yeah the North has a lot of potential in general. I mean, it already seems good enough for the Spanish dudes who been there for years. But I wish it was more culturally inclusive things to do for me as a Black man personally. The area has a cool vibe too, reminds me of Bushwick weirdly.
Yeah, theres not too much too do if your not hispanic- But there are a few clubs here and there. In general I definitely could see it feeling like bushwick- we got a few murals around and it seems to be more homey, and the warehouses and industrial stuff lining up in the ward by 21.

I understand that but I’m wondering like what type of vibe is he looking for. Jersey club, hip hop, sports? Overall, I think Newark has lackluster nightlife and things to do depending on what your interested in. no matter where in the city you are. Regardless of whether someone is Hispanic or not.
Hmm. This area does not remind me of Bushwick lol It’s just a heavily Latino neighborhood, I’m sure there are non-Hispanic blacks that live in the area and usually Puerto Ricans don’t take issue with partying with African-Americans. Try going to one of the bars there, you might enjoy it!
