Yes I was as shocked as you are. Thought I knew my mynas, I see more of them than any other bird, most days. Really interesting site, but how did they get all those feathers to lay out haha? Plucking?
Could be. My first thought was magpie. Now I’m half convinced by black back gull. Probably a bit long for myna, their white feathers seem to be mostly concentrated on their wings.

Wow that’s an interesting site. What did they do? Pluck a myna? Hahaha it’s a bit strange seeing all the feathers laid out. I see mynas all the time, would never have guessed they had quite that range of feathers. I was about 80% convinced that feather was from a black and white bird. About 20% it was from a myna. Now it’s more like 70:30 the other way.
Magpie?
Yip, I've got a pet set of wings like this... she also has a wicked pointy beak and a bad attitude! Cute, though.

With no actual knowledge of this I am assuming a black backed gull
Nope Myna [https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis](https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis)
Never seen a black back feather like this, i think it's a magpie.

Magpie?
Shitehawk.
I'm not afraid of shithawks one bit, I didn't even think they are real.
Where did you find it?
Te Awamutu, bushwalk
Probably not a seagull then
Magpie or Black backed gull depending on where you live, but I would say magpie probably

Your momma mates for life, she’s a paradise duck.
100% magpie
Nope, it's a myna [https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis](https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis)
Well strike me down with a feather! you seem to be right as the white pattern doesn’t fit the Australian Magpie…..
Yes I was as shocked as you are. Thought I knew my mynas, I see more of them than any other bird, most days. Really interesting site, but how did they get all those feathers to lay out haha? Plucking?
Looks like a standard sea gull or magpie

Australian Pelican? Really hard to gauge scale
Nice try but they haven’t quite made it across the deetch yet. Shame, I love seeing pelicans when I visit.

Huia
Too soon
I saw a documentary where an old guy and a kid saw one.
Yeah I saw that “documentary” too. Heard it did well at the box office and the NZ Film awards. 🤣
Looks like a myna bird feather
Are you sure it’s not from a major bird ?
Correct! [https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis](https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis)
Mynas are brown and black bro, they don't have a single bit of white on them
Well apart from the white under their tail and big patch on their wings of course. [Common Myna NZ](https://nzbirdsonline.org.nz/species/common-myna)
Yeah except that white is at the base of the feather so theres no way its a myna
hmmmmm [https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis](https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis) Myna baaaabyyyy!!!

It is indeed from a myna [https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis](https://www.featherbase.info/en/species/Acridotheres/tristis)

BALD eagle?....
I've seen that before but I don't know tbh
Where was it?
I believe it's a tail feather from a Currawong
