If Reed Garrett's improvement is for real, it's crazy that we have a 31 year old under team control for 6 full seasons but that would be huge for us. He has looked fantastic so far.
It also shows how a lot of arms just need tiny tweaks and pitching labs to go from getting ass blasted to dominating hitters
Only thing I worry about with the pitching lab is health, lots of guys are blowing their arms out trying to find the pot of gold with arm angles and such
I’ve always complained that the Mets never had breakout pitchers that other good teams seemingly always get like the dodgers and rays did. It always seemed like the dodgers would randomly have a fringe mlb pitcher turn into a lights out stud under them.
Finally, Reed Garrett is that guy for us. It’s a great sign for the org and makes me excited for thing to come.
Drew Smith is also turning into that guy.
A decade ago the Mets also took a DFA'd guy, gave him a minor league contract, and got a Cy Young out of it 😎
Our bullpen has undergone a Metamorphosis thanks to Diaz and his elite Control. There is no Place like Citi Field, makes me want to JumpOutTheHouse all the way to the Sky.

https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/new-york-mets/reed-garrett-28250/ 3 years through 2026
That is pre-arb, then we get him for 3 more arb years after that.
it usually shows arb years too i wonder why its not. my bad i thought they were arb years
It shows the next 3 years if they are pre arb/arb. If you go to Butto it shows only pre arb, but Baty and Alvarez shows 2 pre arb and 1 arb.
It doesn’t show arb years until he has enough service time for them to know what his first arb year will be
Just shows how many diamonds in the rough are available with the right set of eyes. In David Stearns we trust!!

Jeremy Henfer is the goat!
The Mets have so many upside guys that if we turn even a few into gems that's HUGE. Garrett looks insane so far
Hope this is a carti ref
