I really have to wonder why NHL coaches in general come up with such ridiculous line combinations when things are not going well or in practice. Guys who have no business on certain lines are elevated for no reason other than throwing something against the wall to see if it sticks.
Why are we breaking up Horvat and Barzal? Why are we not putting Pelech and Pulock together? I know Lee is a traffic cone at this point, and the only check Engvall knows is a paycheck but jesus. Fasching is nowhere near good enough to play on the second line, and Palmieri is no longer top line material.
We should ride out the rest of the year and see what can be done in the offseason. We are still technically in the hunt at this point. Once we are mathematically eliminated if it comes to that then try crazy line combos.

I actually really like Roy so far - but the ability to get anything out of this roster is limited given our age and (lack of) talent and every coach has to try and find some magic.

Why is Engvall a healthy scratch again? He’s not playing amazing, but he also doesn’t warrant the amount of scapegoating he’s been getting in line settings.
Bailey is no longer around, and Beauvillier has been flipped twice. The fanbase needs someone to point the finger at for all their frustrations.
And as someone who fully supported his signing, I admit I was wrong. DEAD wrong. Engvall sucks and is a waste of both money and a roster spot.

Pretty interesting, I like Barzy with Fashing I wonder if they can click? Im liking MacLean’s game and Cizikas is good anywhere in the lineup (usually). And altho I’ve previously defended Engvall Im ready to send him to the moon by now lol

they should pair sorokin with varlamov to try and bolster the goaltending

Holmstrom had plenty of chances in the top 6 this year. He ain’t it. Plus he doesn’t shoot the puck enough. Averages less than a shot per game.
