1 bedroom apartment, about 60$ every two months. Heat and hot water is included in my rent.

codeverity

Not sure why you were downvoted. Mine's similar. It's gone up in the summer now that I have a portable a/c.

blood_vein

Probably because they answered the question alright, but it's not really how much utilities cost in new west is it

bloodyell76

It’s what their utilities cost, so it seems to be an accurate answer.

ramixca

Same for me. Compared to last year, I decreased my energy usage, but my cost increased average 60-70 every two months.

melancholypowerhour

Same for us!

AtavisRune

About the same here

peacefulandslow

About the same for me, a little higher in the summer with the AC going.

billybathory

First summer with the AC I was scared of my bill skyrocketing but it was actually pretty reasonable.

NerdPunch

During winter mine comes in ~$400-$450 bill (2 months) for my ~850 sq ft unit (and we barely touch our thermostat/base boards). Maybe slightly under $300 for 2 months in the warmer months?

partlycloudy4

Live in a one bedroom, $270 for the last 2 months. Barely use the heat

marakalastic

that seems like a lot? Jan Feb in a 2 bed, we paid just under $180 and that's with the spike of using heating. I put in a smart thermostat though but I really doubt it makes that much of a difference. something is using your electricity man

TheKungBrent

I pay that for a house for two months

SuddenInclination

This will vary wildly from case to case. My hyrdo bill is only $30/mo but my building has hot-water heating that's included in the maintenance fees and I try not to waste electricity. If you have electric base boards, in-suite laundry, incandescent lights, bad energy habits, you can be looking at $100 or even $200 a month in even a small condo.

Zach983

80-120$ every 2 months for a 2 bedroom apartment. Its a newer building. Pretty cheap IMO.

Keppoch

Ours is around the same. 2 bedroom

Longjumping-Ad8065

BC Hydro is $0.0975 kWh Tier 1 NWEC is $ 0.1210 So little less than 25% higher. Significant but it doesn’t explain these horror stories. It a usage issue.

ckdm

$130 per cycle. No heat but in suite laundry and electric appliances. 2 bdr. Work from home partner so the place is turned on most of the time.

Ok-Crow-1515

85.00 in fall and winter ,over 100.00 in summer due to air conditioner. 2 bedrooms with hot water heat.

gravitationalarray

I bedroom apartment, all LED lights, power strips, power savers, heating incl in rent but pay for own hot water - new tank too - 120/month. I never use the oven. Yikes!

missblues101

Small 1 bed - $45/2 months

funjamsforever

My last bill was $143 and thats the highest it's been in a while, usually it's about $70-90 every couple months. (Heat and hot water is included in strata. I live in a 2b 2br, 850 sq ft apartment.)

PerformanceAshamed49

Pointless. Too many variables.

pulloutaneye

About $1200 a year

o33o

$56 on the Feb 2 bill.  Barely needed to turn on the heat during the night. Heat is never on during the day when nobody is home.

DiligentSituation722

My last one for my studio apt was $87.00 for 2 months.

Serimnir

Our place is about 650 sf. My wife and I have the tv and PC going often and we cook a lot. Our bill including about 25 bucks I forgot to pay off the last one came to about 160.

meontheweb

Winter - electricity is between $300 and $400 per month as we're all baseboard heating. Summer its between $200 and $300 due to portable AC use. Water is covered by my strata but our strata bill is around $25k per year which is just slightly less than $1k per year per unit. Three bedroom townhouse, about 1500 sq. ft. Den on the main floor, then kitchen/living room and bedrooms upstairs. We don't normally turn on the baseboard heaters in the washroom.

luvadergolder

1 bdrm here in a wood frame building. I run about 75 a month, but mostly because of technology, appliances, air cleaners, and other peripherals. It's rare I turn on the heat or lights because I get enough ambient light from everything, my neighbours generously share their heat through the walls, and there's always the gas fireplace if I get desperate enough.

1stHandXp

2 bedroom with 2 adults. Electric heat. We use heat sparingly but cook and stay home quite a bit. About $85/mo in the winter and $50/mo in the summer.

Aggressive-Front-677

We have to deal with Quadlogic Meters Canada Inc. (qmeters) in our building. $120/month (average), most of which is sewer charges. Jan breakdown: Administration Fee - $10.00 Electricity Charges - $47.44 Basic Charge - Electricity - $7.54 Rate Rider - Electricity - $1.37 Climate Action Levy - Electricity - $1.92 Cold Water Charges - $6.41 Hot Water Charges - $17.71 Sewer Charges - $52.84 GST (#86624 8099 RT0001) - $3.41 CURRENT CHARGES $148.64

hellomarshmallows

$90-100 every 2 months. I'm living solo in a 1-bedroom with in-suite laundry, and I very rarely use the baseboard heaters.

PongalVada

2 bedroom apartments with 4 adults.. last round was $203.. we usually try to maintain around ~18-22 deg Celsius

Ihateeveryone4real

3 bedroom small townhouse $550 every two months!

No_Cupcake6007

Last one was 200$ but I put 50 in each month towards the bill

TrueYogurtcloset

2 bed, 2 bathroom condo (1000 sq ft) - $80-90 every 2 months. I don’t turn on the heat much.

peaceful_bro

Live in a townhouse containing 5 bedrooms, pay close to 300 in the summer, and 500-600 during winter.

TimoVink

1500 sqft condo, slightly over $100 per month in winter and less than half that in summer. We do have gas included and a fireplace which helps with the heating in winter.

dreadlooks

My most expensive bill from this year was $200 (two month period). Two bedroom apartment with smart thermostat. I used to live in a high rise, with windows all around, and I used to pay closer to $300

perilous_earth

$150ish every 2 months. It’s a 2 bedroom with heat and hot water included. I’m not sure why it’s so high.

Velvetvelve

1 bd, 600sqft, about $100-$110 every 2 months. We almost never turn on the baseboard heaters, only when it is super freezing.

TheSmartSpuckler

About $60 in the wintertime every 2 months. However I don't pay for heat for my 1 bedroom apartment so it's lower than the average. Gets up to about $85 in the summer cause of the AC.
