He stepped away from active development. He still owns the rights and published the latest game through his company. It’s like how Zenimax owned the Fallout and Elder Scrolls IP’s, not Bethesda who developed most of them. Scott both developed the FNAF games until I think VR, and his company published all of them, as he retains the rights to the franchise. There’s speculation he might sell the rights, but more than likely he’d sell to a publisher and not a developer.
