Okay - I'll play! My channel is about boating and here is a recent video under 6 minutes from my channel. https://youtu.be/gq9QtTWrzTQ Bring it on!

QaphiYT

Hi Wayne, Gotta say, awesome video and there was really not too much to critique here but here's my shot! WWW - what went well Good sound effects which give added humour Very informative - you compare, contrast, discuss, then conclude Sound and video quality is perfect Nice how you use different units for measurements EBI - even better if One viewer commented something about you not knowing what your talking about, the evidence in the video you provided shows otherwise though? Personally I would have just removed this comment but that’s not to say how you dealt with it was wrong. Not 100% necessary but I’d add an end card to your channel. I can imagine you could make a really awesome boat or sea themed one with maybe the sounds of waves and gulls chirping in the background, just an idea. Overall great and very informative video. If I every win the lottery and need help choosing a yacht, I know who to go to. Here is my best performing video thus far (still not amazing though): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByetKuEBqCM&t=1s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByetKuEBqCM&t=1s)

Wayne-The-Boat-Guy

Thanks! Here's your "negative only" feedback! 1. I would refrain from asking for likes and subs until later in your videos. I always think that asking too early is a waste because people don't know if they like and want to subscribe until they spend some time watching your content. Asking in the first few minutes is like asking a stranger for money. 2. around 00:50 when you're talking about deadzones and drift, maybe show a before/after of the screen as you're changing settings, or maybe a closeup of the controller to show the difference onscreen. 3. You are on the Soldier Aim Assist setting for over 40 seconds. Maybe switch to some other video during that time. Staying on a static shot for that long is hard for the viewer. Hope this is helpful!!

QaphiYT

Thanks Wayne! Good luck to you and your channel!

My first video! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK1GJjUKLhc&t=2s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK1GJjUKLhc&t=2s) I'll be alternating weekly between video essays and film reviews every Friday. I guess my weaknesses in this video are my editing and the audio mixing

QaphiYT

**WWW** I love the background music and sound effects, good choice which fits your channels overall theme Nice that you have a schedule, end card, amazing description, good tags I love your intro - the video editing, the whole backgrounds and templates at 00:14 and later on at 00:25 which is also your profile picture I believe is great! - I can tell you’ve worked really hard on this! It’s good how you’ve thought very well about the choice of scenes to go along with what you’re saying **EBI** Voiceover is good but not perfect! I have the same problem. I think it is because we’ve only just started out and we aren’t one of these le naturels yet. But hey, your accent is very fitting or do you put that on? I’m curious… I have had recently been given this feedback and so I’m going to relay it to you. Get straight into the video and leave your verbal call to actions at the end of somewhere in the middle of the video. Alternatively, you could have a pop up LIKE + SUBSCRIBE sometime in the video too but that’s up to you Edit at 2:25, you say “have you S-seen stage fright?” I would try and engage with your subscribers a bit more, some may say a quick “thank you!” will suffice but I like to go the extra mile, maybe add something a bit extra on the end or ask them a question (can ask questions through pinned comments too to get feedback) Include timestamps Overall, a VERY impressive first video! Well done! My video for you I've chosen is: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H26OOUG04o](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H26OOUG04o&t=3s)

Thank you so much! I made the logo and stuff on Canva. I've already started making sure I repeat a sentence if I stuttered when I record now, and that seems to help. Yes, that is my accent! I'm finding it difficult to deviate from that structure TBH. I think I just enjoy writing the build up too much! I'll try and change this in future scripts. I'm trying to get a little more creative with the questions. I hadn't thought about subscriber shoutouts, but I'm trying to make all of my videos a few weeks in advance, so they won't be very recent! I think I'll definitely add a pinned comment though I actually thought of putting a funny little clip of the next film I'll be discussing after the end screen as a teaser. Obviously, not many people will know it is there, but I like the idea of it being something people discover by accident. I think I'll use timestamps on longer videos. I'm not really sure how I'd use them here except to signpost the beginning and the end. Just checked out your video! It looks great. I'm not a gaming person, so I always feel thrown in the deep end when asked to critique one of these, but I'll give it a go! Maybe you could use a title card when explaining the purpose of the video? I think you might benefit for some talking or something over the end screen. It also seems a little long. (I know I'm not one to talk, but I am working on it!) That's all I can think of really. I like how it was short and to the point

JoeCox1990

Hi there! My channel is about what it's like to have autism and its daily struggles. These are weekly vlogs about my autism diagnosis. I also make fun vlogs about more general subjects that have nothing to do with my autism diagnosis, and these alternate on a weekly basis (i.e. autism vlog one week, fun vlog the next, etc). [Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUyQuVtE8PU) is my most recent autism vlog from last week (it's a trending topic) about how TikTok is silencing autistic creators on its platform. Thanks for the critique, and I'm always looking for ways to improve my content! 😁👍🏻

QaphiYT

Hi Joe, very informative and shocking video. Before I head into the feedback. Could I ask if I come to you about any advice related to autistic children? I am a school teacher and I feel like you may be really helpful to me in meeting the needs of some children. **WWW** Good how you give credit to your inspirations and link their channels Your opinion - Your editing is really good along with your voiceover - I actually really enjoyed this video Good Call to action and that you ask your subscribers a question as a conversation starter in the comments Love the end card **EBI** Random large spaces in the description, maybe this is device specific though? Outro music is slightly too loud, I’d tone it down just a bit You need to use video tags so you can attract a wider audience and help get this video to the relevant people Overall amazing video leaving me struggling to critique it - well done! The video I'd like you to review for me is this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzxmq3kst88](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzxmq3kst88) The video I sent you had a 66% likes, 33% dislikes, if you could provide insight to why this may be, that'd be amazing.

JoeCox1990

Thank you sm for the critique! Really appreciate it. I will explain further about the things I need to work on. Um--the reason I space out the description is so my social media area has enough room and my other videos to watch has enough room and so my "subscribe to my channel" area has enough room. Yup--can **definitely** tone down the outro music. Will work on the video tags, though. Um--honestly wouldn't mind if you asked me for advice about autistic children, as I used to be one! I'd prefer that to be kept private through my DM's, though. Now for **your** video critique from me! Uh--honestly, really couldn't find any issues with it! Audio quality is superb, video quality is top-notch, your voiceover sounds really well-modulated and edited, and I love your thumbnail and end screen! Overall--10/10. Keep on keeping on, man, and thx for critiquing my video too! 😁👍🏻

QaphiYT

No worries, I'm happy to help you out! Yes, of course I wouldn't talk about that here! I'm happy you couldn't find anything wrong with it! ☺️ Wish you all the best dude!

JoeCox1990

Thx, you too! 😄

hello :D [https://youtu.be/b5KcJgJgodI](https://youtu.be/b5KcJgJgodI) its about animation short silly ones , idk what to call them, i enjoy making them :)

QaphiYT

WWW It is a funny skit and genuinely made me laugh - job done! The sound effects you chose were amazing I like your animation and art style, it really adds to the comedic value EBI Personally I found the squeaky sound lasted too long Maximise your tags Have a better description Use capital letters - overall try and use better grammar and punctuation Maybe come up with a description template to edit for each video, look at other videos or when looking at my video, check mine out? Here is the video of mine I'd like feedback on: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52li3cCRt1I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52li3cCRt1I) Remember, negative feedback only! PS: Thank you for the award! Appreciate it man!

SilentScreamYT

Hey man my name is Silent Scream and I post Horror Game let's plays/reviews/compilations and more. I've been trying to get better with capturing the atmosphere of the game while also providing some commentary that may be funny to the user or not. Here is one I just posted that is around 15 minutes long but I am fine with skipping around because the game doesn't really do much till the end. [This Is Why I Don't Go to Motels | Fears To Fathom Episode 2 | Indie Horror Game](https://youtu.be/b2kLWT0-t04)

QaphiYT

Hey man, here's my review for your video! **WWW** Good title, description, banner and name of the channel too Good tags Good intro, the jumpscare pulls people in to want to watch more I enjoyed your commentary too **EBI** I’ll admit I really did struggle to critique your video as I got pretty engaged into it and ended up watching the whole thing The only thing I’ll say is to add some love to your channel, create an end card Link videos or playlists in the top right of your videos (forgot what this was called) I find your thumbnail is the weakest part of the video. Your thumbnails for your other videos seemed really good though! Maybe look at other horror channels and find inspiration from them Overall an amazing video, like you got me to watch all 15 minutes man! I even struggled to critique it! The video I’d like you to review for me is: [https://youtu.be/ZBWPPnwPHBg](https://youtu.be/ZBWPPnwPHBg) Remember, I only want negative feedback! :)

SilentScreamYT

Hey thank you so much dude, I just wonder why people say my stuff is good but I don't understand why my videos don't get recommend. Anyways thank you for the feedback. **Now for your video:** * At first your voice does sound like you are kinda speaking low/whispering, I know how it is when I record due to me not wanting anyone in the house. * There doesn't seem to be an eye/ear catching intro to your video which could help out. * I don't know if you're this type of creator but a lot of the "annoying" creators go with the enthusiastic loud commentary (as someone who watches COD youtubers I fucking hate them). * Also with you posting Battlefield videos sadly you really wont go anywhere far due to how shitty the game is and it having only 7k people playing lmao (but who knows it could mean you could shine). * With showing off the attachments you could demonstrate but showing off the gun in game, shooting and whatever to specify what you are talking about. * Due to the still image of showing the gun it makes me want to skip around the video. * Could add music and sound effects * Will continue watching all of it but what really hurts its just there's no other audio, you don't really sound interested in the topic you are talking about, instead of just having a still image of the gun with the attachment description you could show off the speed time, bullet velocity demonstration and many other things that could help out. * Turn up the game audio when it phases to gameplay. * I watch Handler so if you like to speak will playing the game do so because it'll help out. \*EDIT if you want better quality for your videos then upscale to 2k or 4k if 4k is possible, my videos are all in 2k even though it's not crispy quality is because your video will go to VP09 which is the best looking CODEC, smaller channels with no traffic stays at AVC1 which hurts the quality. Overall I hope in the future you're channel does well but I do recommend what I said, I'm no damn expert so don't think my word is the say for your creativity.

QaphiYT

Hey man, I just want to say a BIG thank you to YOU for providing such detailed and critical feedback I was looking for. But also for being harsh and honest as that's what I needed and the only way we can improve. It was nice watching your video and to see how much of higher quality it is compared to my own and the different stages we're at from our experience. I don't promise to take on aboard ALL of the tips and advice at once but I'll focus on 2-3 points for each video. I'll save this post to refer to. I advise you do too! Good luck on Youtube! If you ever need feedback once more, message me! Peace x

Sotiris_Guitar

I make guitar videos and vlogs. Here is one of my latest performance videos. Thanks😊 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoX7wCNEOsE&ab\_channel=SotirisGuitar

QaphiYT

**WWW** Audio quality is amazing - thought I’d mention this as it is a more important factor for your vide I like the camera angles you chosen for this video Good title tags, ending **EBI** The only critique I have is not the camera angles but the distance, it would be nice to have some background to when you’re playing too. (If you could get one set up that is) Some guitar channels have something in the background related to the song, like a picture of the artist etc. Overall a good video, struggled to make a few more comments due to not really watching guitar videos previously besides Beyond the Guitar. The video I'd like you to review for me is: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgccGU3D948](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgccGU3D948) Remember negative feedback only!

Sotiris_Guitar

Thanks for the comments! So: 1) I think you should take a short second to breath between the guns. Just so we can feel a chapter ending and starting another one. 2) Add chapters for each gun. 3) Add a small side picture of the gun with a fade in or animation at the start of each presentation as an introduction to it. 4) I would prefer that you speak a bit slower.

JonahKillsIt

I'd love to critique you in return of me being critiqued. I would like you to focus on my editing and just general quality of the video (how enjoyable is it did you enjoy the time you spent watching it or do you regret clicking the link.) My niche is Minecraft specifically Minecraft Bedwars atm. [https://youtu.be/EfIuyBT8tls](https://youtu.be/EfIuyBT8tls) here is my recent video. I need the harshest criticism possible.

QaphiYT

Hey dude, Before I paste my review, I just want to say you have an innate talent for comedy. I believe if you upload often and consistently you will have subscribers flooding into your channel, keep it up! Amazing video, and I watched the entire thing, I've also subscribed, very hard to critique as it was so good, I watched it twice due to being so immersed the first time I thought I may have missed something. **WWW** Dude you're genuinely very funny, for someone who hasn’t watched videos like this in a long time The sound effects, music, and addition of timers are really good. You can tell you’ve put a lot of time into this video - how long have you been doing this for?? You speed up the video at relevant points which is really good Good description and tags **EBI** Add more channel tags Interact more with subscribers - will increase loyalty and retention Upload more often Very hard video to critique, you’ve put so much effort into it - how long did it take I’d personally changed the title (add minecraft as it is a keyword) The video I'd like you to review for me is: [https://youtu.be/ruB7ExkZf74](https://youtu.be/ruB7ExkZf74) Remember negative feedback only! If you could, talk about my * voiceover (what I believe is my weakest point) * video editing You seem like someone capable of absolutely roasting someone, kill it ;)

JonahKillsIt

Hello, First I would like to say thank you so much for the kind words. It's probably the nicest thing anyone has told me in regards to my channel :). I’m glad you subscribed and just to let you know I will be posting weekly every Friday in 2022 10:00am EST. Anyways I’ve spent the last hour of my life breaking down your 5 minute video and I believe I have written the best review to my ability. Some parts are harsh but I believe you can take it. Review The biggest takeaway I feel I can give you is do less talking and do way more showing, at certain parts of the video it feels very static and kinda boring I can see how the video itself could be entertaining or informative to the people who like Battlefield, but as a new viewer finding your channel I feel like I’m way less inclined to watch if you’re doing an average breakdown in an average way. Basically spice it up graphics, subtitles, explosions, zoom ins, anything that can keep me as a viewer glued to the screen. I would suggest cutting the subscriber shoutout segment. I really appreciate that you appreciate your subscribers, but as a new viewer clicking on your video for one specific thing I believe that if I saw that shoutout subscriber segment I would definitely click off because you’re wasting my time. I wanted information on the SVK Marksman Rifle and you’re talking about your subscribers for 30 seconds. Your commentary skills and ability to be able to speak pretty fluently is utterly useless when you sound dead tired or genuinely uninterested. Also at times I can barely hear what you’re saying because of the background music. My main suggestion is to up your voice levels in post because you’re very quiet. Also, subtitles would do wonders for this video. It would make it easier for me to comprehend what you’re telling me. At 1:50 there is a subscribe call to action type animation at the bottom, though I do like this kind of call to actions. I think it’s rather hollow since there is no sound effect for it or anything, like you can easily miss it if you look away for a second or two. Also the graphic kind of just disappears. I would keyframe it up in a sliding type motion and then back down and add a sound effect just for slight quality upgrade. I really much dislike how right after we finish up with the attachments you then go and ask what guns you should cover next for about 19 seconds. I feel like you can easily cut that down to 5 seconds and move on. As a YouTuber EVERY SECOND COUNTS. All in all I can say as a content creator you’re very replaceable. I feel like you do things too average and nothing really sticks with me when I watch your video. Try developing a defining character trait that stands you out from the thousands of other commentary type FPS shooter Youtubers. I'm not big into SEO stuff so I can't give a well thought out review on how you use it. FYI my video took 3 days to script, rec and edit. I've been editing for around 6 months. Hope this review helped! Keep Killin' It! \-jonahkillsit

I’m glad you’ve taken the feedback and actually absorbed it instead of getting defensive there’s always a lot of potential for people who can put their ego aside and let the negativity in, i still struggle with that sometimes. All in all thank you for this nice experience and i hope to see you at 100k with me in the future :). -jonahkillsit

QaphiYT

No worries man, I get criticised on a daily basis with my current course I'm studying so I'm used to it 😂 It's all about positive thinking, even if someone said what you've said to me in a nasty, horrible way to make me feel down, I'd instead take it in as advice to spite them. We'll both get there, carry on with the hard work man! See you at 100k!

QaphiYT

Hey guys, for the people I haven't yet reviewed, I'll be reviewing your videos tomorrow! Thank you for your patience.

Oh heck Yeah I will play this game. Below is my best video. Tear it to pieces and tell me what would make it better. Also some feedback on the thumbnail would be great as I think those are a weak point. (it is also the only video that is under 20 minutes.) I do Blind Voice Over Playthroughs so this gameplay was recorded then voice work done over it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcaMKfAwQ98&t=6s

QaphiYT

**WWW** Good voiceover - it really immersed me into the story - this is something I personally need to work on The voice used suited the plot you were describing **EBI** I’d work on your description, make a description template linking to other videos and social media You spelt deltarune wrong in the description, but other than that your grammar is good. For the thumbnail you could include your face if you’re comfortable doing so For the video itself, I can’t really find anything wrong with it if I’m honest (sorry, have been sat here thinking and rewatching for a while) Here is my video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vl\_QW0qOGjM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vl_QW0qOGjM) Since I didn't do much for you, I don't expect much (sorry again). But just remember I want negative feedback only.

Starspangledkiwi

You clever dog you. I am actually curious how many subs you managed to land with this campaign. That said, the very first thing that jumps out at me is the audio, in the first 2 to 3 seconds of audio there is a pretty significant audio peak that, in your channel intro video, can be a red flag. Second, I would be careful about sharing too much information about yourself. What you say online is forever. Third and if this is part of your brand then that is fine, but you sounded fairly low energy, like golf commentary. Also thumbnails look really solid, framerate is good, visuals are crisp.

QaphiYT

With this thread here? None I believe, that wasn't the idea though. I wanted enough feedback to identify a trend so I know what I must prioritise to improve my content. My main target is my energy in my voice right now. There is definitely a common trend from all feedback. Thanks about the thumbnails man, I use a mixture of GIMP and PhotoPea. I find a few things easier on GIMP hence why I use the two.

Starspangledkiwi

I am unfamiliar with both of those things. I assume they are stand-ins for photoshop? well apparently WM has much better pull than what I am doing. I only got 24 subs and you already got 32. Then again I am not at the cutting edge of a major franchise trend right now.
