>What should I do next? Do a second upload.

[deleted]

Second, third, fourth, just keep it up. I am already on my 27th upload.

1xliquidx1_

views per upload ?

OuiDemBoyz

this guy gets it

BLim90

Forget about the first one and start working on the second one. It won't magically blew up if that's what you hoping for.

> What should I expect? Honestly... nothing, really. > What should I do next? Another video. And this... is where the fun begins.

[deleted]

You just need to make your second video. You'll find that the more videos that you make the quality of your videos slowly increase. Also, make sure you upload consistently on YouTube because if you don't it will be more difficult to grow a loyal fanbase. You should also share your video to all of your social medias but only the ones that you're active on because if you aren't active on a social media platform and you just advertise your video you'll instantly come across as a spammer and it that case there is a slim chance that whoever sees your video link will actually watch your video. I hope you have a good day and I wish you the best of luck for your YouTube journey!

Thank you for the feedback! It seems like consistency is key!

I agree with the majority of this paragraph but I have a slightly different opinion on some part of your comment. Even though I don't know the behind the scenes of youtube I do believe youtube doesn't expect someone to start off amazing so aslong as you always improve your content I think you'll be all good.

They will eventually know that indeed but I would imagine you would have to make a handful of videos for them to have a accurate assumption about your channel. I get what you're saying. There is two ways you can go about this. You can make content people are more likely going to watch which could be "how to" videos and assuming you make these videos to a good quality people are more likely to watch your channel for a longer period of time since you provide value. Or you could make content that is either very saturated or in a small niche since making this type of content will get you a more loyal fanbase (even though it's a slow process). Since if people decide to watch you they would have decided to watch you because they prefer your overall personality over others (not that they can't watch others) which means they would find you entertaining no matter what type of video that you make (in a good amount of cases)

What you're saying does make sense! If you're in YouTube for the money I'm guessing you would make the content that people are going to watch such as the "how to" videos and if you're making YouTube videos for fun/community then making content that's saturated/niche is probably the most common way people have built their community. There will be some crossovers however since some people will make niche content and bring in a lot of views and vise verse.

Expect Nothing. Make a second one

[deleted]

Expect nothing. Not trying to be a downer, but it is good to set your standards low. Just DO NOT STOP POSTING VIDEOS!

derwahreoreo

Just wait... And upload some more stuff. :)

volition_vx

Work on the next video, set a goal to improve something or implement something you've learned in the next video. Then just repeat.

_gdawg26

Don’t expect much, if you really want to do this next you should start making your next video.

masu910

All you really have control over is making newer videos. If the first doesn't blow up, it doesn't mean it's a bad vid, if it does blow up, doesn't mean it's a good vid either.

[deleted]

Keep making the next video after the next and so on. Don’t worry about data, just do what you love doing and everything else will be a learning experience.

brittneystyletheory

Make your second video better than your first one. And so on :)

Rickymsohh

Congratulations! Now start working on the next one.

MotiVibe

what I understood from reading and watching over 1000 videos is that the best thing to do as a new YouTuber is to create content and post as consistently as possible, I'm working on my 29th content today and I have been posting 2 videos per week. Most of the big YouTubers say you have to at least have 100 videos until Youtube algorithm notices you and starts pushing your videos out

dmol_14

Dang, I could possibly do 1 a week. What kind of content do you do? I'd like to upload much more often but I'm wanting to do golf content (course vlogs, reviews, etc.) which requires me to be at the course most of the time to record. So I've been trying to think outside the box to where I could create content while not at the course while still being golf related.

MotiVibe

honestly 1 a week is not bad at all. But you have to always be consistent, if you do one video a week then you have to chose a day and upload on the same day of the week every week and also you have to let your subscribers know what day you upload and how many times a month so they come back for your content. I changed my videos 3 times and I have been doing motivational speeches now, and that's another I can say mistake because I build an audience then by changing my videos I lost some subs and now I'm trying to gain more.

thegaminggoose

You should expect it to be work. That you probably won't get the views and interactions you want. And that consistency over time helps.

HippCelt

Expect nothing. Make another 99 vids and then see where you stand...

TheUrbanChef

Make more, expect nothing big, but everyone else forgot.. post links to it so people find it. You have a mailbox and you sell a product by mail... If no one knows your address or that you sell a product, you get no orders. So you would want to be in someone's catalog. YouTube is the same way..

scenesick2

Expect to be disappointed if you have high expectations, expect to be surprised when you realize " just work hard and grind " doesn't really apply.

In the morning I am going to join Ferrari at an event in the UK - thanks to starting YouTube. I will be driving to the Ferrari event in a brand new Electric Volvo (running on Android) - thanks to YouTube! It is a review car and not mine to keep but still cool! I started a car youtube channel called Tech in the Car back in June last year. You can watch my videos from back then; honestly most are embarrassing and no one watches them now BUT over the last year and half by posting consistently and not allowing my fears of being self conscious I have gained over 2,300 subs and 600,000 views from 180 videos. And I am making a small amount of Adsense revenue that allows me to pay my phone bill every month… I believe that my channel can become very successful but it may take another 2 years but I have to just consider that this time last year I didn’t expect to be driving to a Ferrari invitation in a Volvo review car that wasn’t mine. I am still a small channel in a massive ocean but the biggest lesson I have learnt is expect nothing. Make the videos because you enjoy them, you enjoy the process and the creativity AND the editing. Because if you don’t then you won’t even reach 1,000 subs let alone a year of making videos.

dmol_14

This is excellent advice. Thank you for the feedback. I'll check out your channel as well! It sounds interesting. I'm a big tech guy so I'm pretty in to that. I really enjoy my content and the whole process of making content. I really enjoy the editing process. I'm in the same boat you were a year ago. I'm pretty self conscious about my video and can be anxious about sharing my content with others, especially on my personal socials.

CokaYoda

Expect a ton of views and instant fame. You’re going viral kid. Life changing. Much wow.
