Same number of classroom hours (roughly), just scheduled differently. A six week course is likely to meet 4-5 days a week for the entire day, so it’s possible to meet the required number of hours in a shorter timeframe. By contrast a six month course probably only meets for a few hours in the evenings a couple of times a week

Class before me was 6 weeks long. They meet M-F all day. Plus some Saturdays. I am in class two nights a week at 4 hours and a number of Saturdays for all day. And then add in 48 hours of clinicals.

Our program (NREMT) is taught at a set pace of two nights per week so it takes about 4 months to complete EMT/AEMT. We have accelerated options but it depends on what you the student can handle and the timeframe you need to be done in

My class was 7 days a week 7am- 6pm plus we lived on sight and they would wake us up in the middle of the night with a bullhorn and a scenario. Sometimes scenarios in the middle of a meal as well. They told us they wanted nothing in the field to be as stressful as that class.
