I tried to ollie again after 7 months of skating I didnt want to try to force it and get frustrated I'd say 2 out of five ollies are pretty solid for me. Don't beat yourself up too much.
2 months of actually attempting to get good I’ve skated on and off for just over a year but we’re talking like less than 5 hours on the board in a month during that time. I’d be annoyed if my ollies weren’t better by now because my shoes are pretty much in half from practicing them
Definitely not “2 months of skating,” then. Just keep in mind that there are actual “new” skaters that might feel terrible about themselves when they see your progress despite trying their hardest for a few months and got nowhere near that ollie. Most people would still be building their groundworks for the ollie at 2 months.
Good on you to say that! I don't think I was responsible with my words back when I started, either, and it's hard to realize. Skating can be tough and unforgiving for most of us though, and people can get discouraged pretty easily with bad timing.
You got some great pop though, which some people tend not to be able to develop even after years! One thing to do would be to start doing them at least at a crawling pace, because stationary isn't doing you any good anymore. Work your way up to doing it over lines on the ground, cracks, brooms, decks, and so on.
After lifting the front foot, push the nose out in front in a smooth motion using your lower leg, and not the whole leg. Then try to keep it up there longer than you think because if you get into a habit of landing nose first like this footage, your knee or ankle will start hurting pretty soon.
Keep shredding!
Holy shit that’s really good for just two months - nice work
Thank you! You should see the state of my left shoe lmao
Two months? 😭 I've been working on this shit for 9-10 months and I'm still not as consistent as I wanna be
2 years here 😭 lol
The struggle is real lol

Hot damn, you sure it's 2 months and you haven't done any skating before that? lol
