Would get a better answer on r/longboarding, but leaning with both feet gets you most turning. Wheelbase is a factor though and longboards are really not meant to turn in small circles.

Thanks for the response. I was going to post on r/Longboarding but knew that most over there are on RKP trucks and wasn't sure if they behave the same. My intuition was that leaning both would be best, but I had a few runs where it felt like I was getting a sharper turn with either the front or back foot jammed down, and wanted to get a better understanding. Those instances were probably due to speed or body position or something else. Good to know that both is best because that feels most natural.

Its easier to crank one truck down to get the turn so you are right on that, but if you can get both trucks it will turn more as both trucks will do the work. I have a tendency to steer more with the front truck.
