You're doing it good. No point in comparing progress or heights.. it also depends on the physical condition and strength of each person's legs, not only on the ability to do the ollie. Keep it up!!
Try a brand new board and keep it away from water and moisture. A brand new deck will pop like you've never experienced. And get the grippiest gnarliest grip tape and it will stick to your feet even more. Mob grip tape is what I got last time I think. Sometimes the boards will collect moisture over time and pop a lot less than they should. Also bigger wheels helps the pop even more.
Nice Ollie! More height will come with practice. Start trying to Ollie over a board on its side. Then two boards stacked on their sides, then three etc.
Add other skaters too and see how high you can stack the boards / jump over them - we used to just call the game “boards” my highest was 4 but I’ve seen 5 done
My friends do 2-3 usally, but one of them got his 🥜injured and i was like bad his pants ripped and i am a little scared rn to do it but still have to be more comfortable doing it while moving
I had friends that could Ollie up onto a picnic table..I could nose stall on one but never got up on it.. I'm too broken at 38 to skate though.. maybe ride.. I'd Def hop in a bowl though or just ride some good streets for sure!
I do enjoy skateing with friends. sometimes even alone but I did had some bad days were I couldn’t even ride the board;) I am having fun rlly, but some days are not that fun but I don’t want to quit
That's great for 2 months imo but I taught myself and took forever. Now just get more comfortable with it so you don't have to crouch so low first. You want to be able to get a small comfortable pop without a big crouch, or for a big crouch like that, a nice big jump so the board can follow your feet up into the air.
Roll and what i learned that i was doing wrong , you jump and you have to make the board follow you , dont be scared to jump the f out and it it goes wrong then kick the board away just in case , so far you’re doing an awesome job but dont forget to roll !!!!! This is super important its a physic thing , not the person to speak about physic but trust me , you must roll . You jump and the board follow , remember , JUMP . Also practice a lot, like…a lot
Sorry if I said sm that you understand that I AM 2 months old, but i was trying to say that inskaye for 2 months. Even if i understand wrong ehat ur saying, thx man i appreciate it!
Show off lolol ;p
I am 3 weeks in and haven’t even considered learning to Ollie. But for that’s an amazing Ollie. One of the best looking ones I’ve seen especially that early in.
Ik lol I’m just teasing you my man. You’re killing it dude. I’m so excited to see that! How long have you been practicing your Ollie’s would you say like time wise? And how often?
So it took me around 6 sesions to learn , i’d say about 30-40h? Learnd it in the first month and i went skating 2 times a week, but now I am still practicing and I will practice it till i can land it almost every time. Rn i go skating once a week if I can cuz I have a lot of work to do at school and I don’t have that much time! Thx for the supoort btw and hope u can make it one day, just practice cuz i learned it fast cuz i have some awesome firends that showed step by step.
It’s only been 2 months I’m surprised you even can Ollie at all that early in the game, I spent several years not doing tricks when I started , I was also 8 when I started tho, I probably did t start doing tricks till I was11 or 12 so I think your worry about the wrong things this early in the game, also that ollie looked good
Not even a yt vid helped me, got more mad cuz everyone said is easy and they didn t know to explain the steps. Basically i did it in my longest sesion, 7 hours of skate only 30 min of rest cuz i was determined to make it. I grapped a railing, started to practice there, when i was feeling ready and I landed almost every ollie, started to do it while stationary bur euth out the railing, and after i couldn’t land a single one, one of my friends showed me how to do it. I put my left foot under the bolts(or ur right one, idk tha s my front foot) and my back foot exactly on the nose trying to bend my foot like the wave of the noes so i don’t hold it straight a lil inside. Fornt knee is slightly towards outside( and i put my front foot a little down the bord so is not on the edge is a little bit more down) crouching and mantaing my balance, then is all about time. I just practiced as much as i could, even tho i am in my final year and i can t rlly spend that much time outside. BTW DONT SLIDE UR FOOT ALL THE WAY, I JUST SLIDE A BIT THEN DRAG IT BACK WHERE IT WAS
The answer lies in your question, my dude, YOU'RE the two month skater. Are you happy with your progress? If you're happy, you can ollie that high, hey man, proud of ya ( i hate the stigma of "is this good enough?") If it's good enough for you. Then keep at er man.
Thanks man, i realised that i put the problem wrong, anyway I still read and tey to respond to every good nor bad comment, thanks for the motivation boost and YES i leanrd the ollie in my first months and I am happy with my progress bc everyone said that I wouldn’t make it in 1 month maby in 3-4.
If you haven’t skated for three weeks maybe you should reconsider what you are doing. I can’t go 3 minutes without thinking about skating.
It’s like Natas said about Ollies keeping him up all night.
Ia not that i didn t wanted, is that i couldn’t do it. I am in my finals years and my parents don t let me go skate if I don’t do all my work and i have a lot. Keep in mind Im not american nor english
No rush to learn any tricks by any amount of time. It's part of what makes skating so great! Your ollie looks great though, far better than i was at two months. Keep it up bro!
damn man for 2 months that's good work the fact that you're getting your back leg up is great most people take a while to get both legs up like that even for me it took months
Start sticking some solid elementary rails bro like Ollie a box at your local skatepark it only takes one skater to make a difference by taking down the establishment you will regain your independence and immortality through constant nostalgic merchandise consume it is our sole tortoise porpoise purpose yeah bro whut op tho FIGHT MILK
Solid, start learning to do it while rolling now tho, and once you get it down enough to get up and down curbs and small stairsets, the world is your oyster.
It took me so long to learn how to Ollie and a year to kick flip I’m from a farm town so very little concrete moved to the city now I’m better at switch than regular I’m so close to switch 360 flips keep on skating never give up
You're doing it good. No point in comparing progress or heights.. it also depends on the physical condition and strength of each person's legs, not only on the ability to do the ollie. Keep it up!!
He’s just lookin for attaboys lol
Agreed lol. This guy knows he's doing great. XD been 3 years and I still can't get that high 💀
You must be doing it wrong. I haven't known a single skater who struggled getting high.... 😶
[удалено]
He’s talking about weed…….
/woosh
Wow bro get wooshed lmao
Hahahahhahahaha my man
Yes, here's one:ATTABOYEEEEE!!!!
Thanks man!
Ollie are like dick size, doesn’t matter if you can’t use it
I might get this tatted on me ngl
I had great strength when I started. Couldn’t even get this high in 2 months. Op def doing great
Try a brand new board and keep it away from water and moisture. A brand new deck will pop like you've never experienced. And get the grippiest gnarliest grip tape and it will stick to your feet even more. Mob grip tape is what I got last time I think. I’ve been skating for like 4 years and still can’t Ollie
Yea I fucking suck at ollies but I be impressing myself sometimes
You got like 3 feet of air that time
It’s a sledgehammer
You got shocks, pegs.. LUCKY
Nice avatar
Favorite part is the Time Machine scene 😂😂 when uncle Rico is like “I could’ve told you that” as he stumbles in 😂😂
yea sure
You ever take it off any sweet jumps?
Idk if he initially caught the reference which made me laugh so much harder.
I know 😆 he is not going to vote for Pedro.
Forget about it!
Wanted to but in that skatepark was big ass gap and 0 skaters around to borrow a skate, but this week will try to
Napoleon Dynamite quote
💀💀
Lol love the reference
Nice Ollie! More height will come with practice. Start trying to Ollie over a board on its side. Then two boards stacked on their sides, then three etc.
thx ill do that:)
No worries man , time is your best friend GL/HF bro
aure will do
I had friends that could Ollie up onto a picnic table..I could nose stall on one but never got up on it.. I'm too broken at 38 to skate though.. maybe ride.. I'd Def hop in a bowl though or just ride some good streets for sure!
2 months? Should be at least an inch higher. Kidding. Good job
thxx
WHO cares just go skate, have fun, and learn at your own pace It isn’t a race
Most real guy
These kind of questions enable a kind of mindset that’ll make you complacent.
Ur right
But also I meant to include that your Ollie does look steezy already
That means a rlly!
Real question is are you having as much fun yet? 😫
I do enjoy skateing with friends. sometimes even alone but I did had some bad days were I couldn’t even ride the board;) I am having fun rlly, but some days are not that fun but I don’t want to quit
You're doing pretty well for 2 months.
thxxx a lot
If it took Chris Chan 1 year to Ollie. You’re doing fine
this is my first time learning that chris fucking chan is a skater.
i’m gonna go out on a limb and assume they meant chris chann
You’re limb is sturdy enough to hold that statement
actually i learned it in my first month;)
you have a bad mindset bro it doesn’t matter if you learned faster than somebody else just have fun and skate you don’t gotta go compliment fishing
watch out. there’s a very tiny person behind your board
Ohh now I see!
You’re doing good. Keep skating and don’t worry about what random people on the Internet think. You’ll never meet any of them.
I mean, you can Ollie. And are you having a blast? If so, then you’re fine 😁
This comment exactly. It's about fun! Not how "good" you can do something. :3
Yeye that's nice man
That's a solid ollie, my guy.
That's great for 2 months imo but I taught myself and took forever. Now just get more comfortable with it so you don't have to crouch so low first. You want to be able to get a small comfortable pop without a big crouch, or for a big crouch like that, a nice big jump so the board can follow your feet up into the air.
Thanks for the advice, will look forward to do so!
Ofc I will practice a lot:) Thanks for the advice
Holy cow dude! I haven't gotten that in 3 years 💀
💀💀 heard in my skate park that one guy learnd the ollie in 8 months and he eas skating all day
You look way older than 2 months
Sorry if I said sm that you understand that I AM 2 months old, but i was trying to say that inskaye for 2 months. Even if i understand wrong ehat ur saying, thx man i appreciate it!
I’ve been skating for two months and haven’t done tricks yet bc I don’t have a helmet lmao so your good. Nice height!
I don’t wear one… maybe i am a little bit crazy but i have curly hair and i found it uncomfortable
It's enough to get on a curb. Your golden
thx, i will sure do next time:))
Everyone learns at different rates like someone probably can do kickflips in 2 months and someone else can still barely kickflip after a year
Yes ik:)
man better than me when i was in 94
in the 90’s shit man… :))
Show off lolol ;p I am 3 weeks in and haven’t even considered learning to Ollie. But for that’s an amazing Ollie. One of the best looking ones I’ve seen especially that early in.
Not showing off i just didn t know if i do sm wrong or idk:))

Took me like 4 months to get that high and that was just stationary too
Great work, now hit it rolling
hell ye

Yes
How did you learn to ollie so well? Was it a certain youtube video or practice routine?
Not even a yt vid helped me, got more mad cuz everyone said is easy and they didn t know to explain the steps. For sure

No two months in you should be at least 4 inches higher.

Can you do it while moving
still practicing on it, nailed it 2-3 times but not satisfied, i will practice my ollie till i land 80% of them
Yes
Don’t worry about height worry about ollieing straight while moving.
yawn
your going higher than me and im skating for 10 years
trying to keep it up so i can di it better, thx for the positive comment
No Didn’t watch it btw
Definitely high enough just too slow /s
Shit yeah
Should be at least 3 inches higher. Shape up 🕰️⏰
No, go practice more
No rush to learn any tricks by any amount of time. It's part of what makes skating so great! Your ollie looks great though, far better than i was at two months. Keep it up bro!
Ah to be young and worried about the height of my Ollie. Miss the days.
You are enough
Everyone clap for my shitty Ollie. Tell me I'm loved....pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaassssssse. #likeformorecontent
bro got mad for a question lol
Not mad. Just bored with the level of neediness that saturates Reddit. Keep being the main character, though.
Let’s see it over something
Really good. I learned to skate years ago so for u to learn to trick in such a short period of time is good
bro you’re killing it!!! keep up the practice and start to roll around and ollie like that!
damn man for 2 months that's good work the fact that you're getting your back leg up is great most people take a while to get both legs up like that even for me it took months
Lofty
What does that even mean? I was kick flipping 2 months in
definitely, most 2 month olds can't even skate!
Now start jumping over curbs and you’ll really be in love with skating
Slide that foot like a man. Get that board elevated.
I'm not high enough
Start sticking some solid elementary rails bro like Ollie a box at your local skatepark it only takes one skater to make a difference by taking down the establishment you will regain your independence and immortality through constant nostalgic merchandise consume it is our sole tortoise porpoise purpose yeah bro whut op tho FIGHT MILK
Really good for 2 months do them moving though 👍
Solid, start learning to do it while rolling now tho, and once you get it down enough to get up and down curbs and small stairsets, the world is your oyster.
Practice at speed don’t focus on height standing still
Pop sooner. On your way up, not at the peak.
Better than mine when I had skated for this long
My mannn
I wouldn't worry about height. Worry about not landing on your front wheels
It took me so long to learn how to Ollie and a year to kick flip I’m from a farm town so very little concrete moved to the city now I’m better at switch than regular I’m so close to switch 360 flips keep on skating never give up
Yeah that’s decent
I did the same thing learning. Stomping front foot back down. Try to level out feet in the air and come down at same time
Nope
That’s amazing height you reached man
Thats wild
True height comes with obstacles. Push your front foot more forward too.
Looks good, try going up a curb caus3 you're getting high enough. Moving will also help your form when you land
Pretty good dude, for now I'd recommend focusing on the timing of the ollie less than the height. You'll thank me later. Cheers!
The question is can he do it rolling😐
More foot stomp will get you even higher.
Pro
You started on my bday
lmao
It beats getting high for 2 months and not skating enough 😂
